This is my only store, I come here 3 days a week, all r very knowledgeable about all thinking or small,and very kind, I do appreciate them.

Today, August 31, 2021, Earlier today my husband and I were there and bought a door. Im not complaining about the price because it was affordable. My issue is you folks have the proper equipment. You could be nice to your customer and shave an inch off the top and bottom of the door to make it fit in your customers home. My husband or myself, were not experienced to do that nor do we have any type of equipment. I dont even know if you folks rent tools or equipment? Honestly, thats irrelevant. Point is, part of customer service is helping your customer. Like, I said, you folks have the equipment, tools. Probably even the experience & its something that shouldnt take longer than 5 minutes. I will be contacting corporate because as a former manager, not at Menards . That wasnt very professional. The young gentleman, associate was cool but the man he spoke to was a jerk. I think he just wanted to go to lunch because I saw him walk away then come back with a sack of something. So, Im assuming he just wanted to go to lunch. I dont know but it still inappropriate.

I went looking for mouse traps. I discovered that while I was attempting to sleep a mouse was chewing on the bottom baseboards by my bedroom door.

Good store most of the time. Sometimes the help is not interested in helping.

I noticed Immediately how brightly lite the store was. I also liked the fact that it is on one floor. It had a toy department which I never expected. Only downside, was when I asked a question of the 2 young workers they werent knowledgeable. But hopefully with experience will do better. I was persistent in getting information I needed. Also saw a couple of customers in stores without mask.

Great selection but customer service is lacking. When you pay for an item to pick up today, pick up to me means they get it for you and all you have to do is pick it up. Not so. Pick up to Menards means you pay for it then you go find it and carry it to a check out area. And, good luck finding someone who will even tell you exactly where it might be. Thats the last time I fall for pick up from Menards.

The store is clean, well stocked and well organized. Must of the employees are friendly and helpful. The last couple of trips I had to deal with less than friendly cashiers, but they did their job adequately.

Great selection of items.Fast friendly check out.The plants were not as nice as I expected from this store. It definitely needs attention.

Always good place for home repair items and dog supplies.

Menards had everything I needed. Plants canning supplies, dog food, N95 face masks and plenty of cleaning supplies. Face masks required if not vaccinated. Store was not crowded and there were plenty of cashiers.

I had to find an employee for assistance. She was helpful, however the employees should be asking customers if they need assistance. Although she was helpful.

Really good experience today. Staff was quite helpful and now the store has even more merchandise I had a great time shopping there.

I order on line and was picking up at the store a special order item. I was not notified of its arrival- no email, call or text. I guess this is corporate issue. Crew members at the store were nice and helpful.

Only place we could actually GET a solid swing set without waiting months. Down side is trying to get all the separate parts needed when picking up. Kit box and 3 other things in the store, then outside to get all the lumber from 3 or 4 different spots. Hopefully we have everything we need for it.....

Great experience people willing to help ... however the store only has 1 electric cart and I had a recent knee surgery a store this size with as many shoppers should have more handicap services.

Always clean and neat. Not may people spoke to me but I kinda prefer that over the way it used to be where a customer would be greeted by every team member in the store(I worked there for 6 years). I was looking for rock salt and it took me a while to find it, which is why I rated 5 stars

What can I say that you all havent experienced if you live in the area. The chain is truly a Midwest regional gem. Been to many stores in IL, IN, WI, and KY, all have the same level of organization and value. For those just driving through, stop in for a look. This location was equally organized and stocked. In the past few years they expanded into a food section with some really good prices and a decent selection. Feels more like a smaller hardware store layout then the competitors. Most team members are nice and can find you someone that can really assist if needed. The design it center on line for decks and garages is excellent and the building material desk teams are also solid when doing large projects. Look for clearance areas in various spots in the store you might find something you need for a current or future project.

I was at the Schererville Indiana location today and had to pick up an order. The guy who picked the order originally did it incorrectly however Alex who works in recieving was able to sort through the entire order with me locate all if the correct parts and get it put into my car with zero complaints. Alex H you are a superstar and Menards would do good to have more like you !

Went there to pick up a small chest freezer, the other stores werent in stock.

Menards you need to stop enforcing these mask. The state of indiana passed the no mask mandate please stop conditioning the weak minded customer. The cashier was great asking me what places don’t require it and I told her which stores do not require it. The manager I guess asked if I had a mask I didn’t want to argue because I could tell he has no common sense and likes pushing and bullying customer into wearing a mask . I’d like to know if menards gets tax credits for pushing the narrative of the liberal left. We had a bad flu season.

Unpleasant. Cashier was rude. Price of door we purchased didnt ring up right. Told cashier was she was rude. Asked who told us this. We told employee. She said whats him name? Told her we didnt know. She said we should. I ended conversation with her. Husband finished transaction with her. We where correct on the price.

Very well staffed store but then again as a whole company (I worked at one, Fridley, MN) every one Ive ever been too is fully staffed, friendly, and fair prices. Ive been to a Home Depot and Lowes only 2 times each and only for a product or in a quantity that Menards doesnt carry. As you see Im back at Menards and happier. Those other stores literally NEVER have no one there to help. MENARDS IS #1and a Tier 1 store in comparison.

We just got thrown out of Menards!My elderly mother CANNOT wear a mask because of anxiety issues and she will literally pass out to the floor if she puts one on.The manager came over and insisted we had to leave.I guess we will spend our money elsewhere!

Ordered on line for curbside pickup. Quick and easy to do, ordering online and pick up.

Paid for my things and was walking out and got accused of stealing and the rent a cop didnt wanna listen when I said its on my receipt. I literally only got two things, not coming back. Dont recommend going unless you look like a redneck otherwise theyll accuse you of stealing

You never know what you will find. Groceries, home improvement items, to even nice couches and tables (depending on the season). If youve never been, you should check it out.

Some of the employees in this store have no interest in helping customers that come there to spend their hard earned money. They try to avoid you and barley want to say Hi thinking you may ask them for help. Its getting worse everytime I come here, the leadership in this store should be having meetings with department managers and hourly employees to address this situation. Ive been coming here for a long time but Im on the verge of taking my business to home depot or lowes. The reason everyone in these stores have a job is because of the customer.

Very disappointed in the customer service . The Grumpy young lady that i asked for help was not happy that i interrupted her texting. I can take alot, crabby with a customer looking for something because u were in the middle of texting is unacceptable.

This one is very organized and is well stocked. The staff is not hard to find when you need help and they have general knowledge of how to accomplish your tasks.

This store has far more than I ever expected!

One of the more organized menards. Would get five stars but the security for the outdoor lumber yard is independently hired and they have some people that seem they hate theyre job and take it on you. Baffling.

Went to 3 Menards stores none had what Rays list showed!😡 Took a chance and drove all the way from Westville to see if Merrillville? They had what was on line! One of the managers in the Millwork dept. (Sam I.) not only helped us but went beyond normal expected service 😃👍she was wonderful! If you need something go see her! True professional! Thank you

We went to the Merrillville store last night to get a grill and outdoor cushions. The young man who helped us was very courteous and accommodating. He even waited on another couple who wanted a grill and cushions too while he was helping us. We wanted six cushions, but they only had five, so he checked Portage to see if they had one, and they did. I wish I would have asked for his name so that he could be recognized for his hard work an great personality.

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the total store selection of goods!Menards was not known to me thirty five years ago when i lived here in northwest Indiana. All we had back then was Ace and Kmart Super K. The only non positive thing I have to say is that it would be great if they offered a military discount or sorts.But all round a pleasant experience.

Menards is kept up on cleanliness which is/has been extremely important to me. People are friendly. However, it is difficult to find help when needing assistance in any department.

Nice people and good prices

At this point the rating wound be a zero if I could. I just put 2 40lb bags of dirt in my cart, with no help. Then waited 10 minutes for someone to come lift it out of the cart into my car while a young man in my sight pretended to fill the seed packets. When I asked the cashier why that ball of fire couldnt carry it out, she said he was garden only and the outside crew had to do it. She called the outside crew 3 times!! I finally gave up and pulled my back some more and loaded my own car. As I was driving away I saw WHY they werent coming.....3 of them were standing outside the main door chatting. Chatting, while a 57 yr old woman loaded her own cart and car. I did pull over and storm inside and told a manager but its unlikely she did anything. These people should be ASHAMED of themselves. Even at my age, I help those less able and these were all young men.

Menards is my jam, lets be honest. My favorite of all the big box stores, if I had to reckon. Work that 11% rebate time like the destitute urchin that I am. Its fabulous. Oh, I like when they have Herrs Ketchup chips hint hint.This particular location is conveniently tucked back off the main road, but still easily accessible. The employees are very helpful and kind, even during these UnPrEcEdEnTeD tImEs and no doubt having to deal with the manic public/dreg of society. Gross. Appreciate you guys.

Stay away.Terrible customer service.Go to Portage or Michigan City. This place is the worst. Will not be back unless its on fire and I get paid to watch it burn.
