Great Candy Store! Stopped by on the way home from a weekend family trip. If you have kids they will LOVE this place!Actually if you love candy or chocolate you will LOVE this place!!!Hopefully next time we go we can try doing the factory tour. Covid messes with everything👎It was still fun for the kids to pick out candy. They have a bunch of prepackaged selections or candy/chocolate you can pick out and they bag for you. Which is priced by the pound. The prices are decent…we don’t live close so the few times we have come we “stock up.” We also tend to get a few things as gifts for family/neighbors.My only negative would be that SOMETIMES there are staff there that are just not nice. Like they don’t feel like working or helping you out, they’re just going through the motions 🤷🏻‍♀️That being said there are always a ton of nice people too…which is why the staff that aren’t in a good mood stand out more I guess.I also wish they would make some gummy candy with non pork gelatin. It’s rare you find a gummy that doesn’t use pork gelatin, so it would be cool if they had a couple options. We’d end up buying even more when we go😂

Staff was very friendly and accommodating especially Gabrielle. Also because of my moms sugar limitation, it was nice to see a wide selection of sugar-free candies. It was our first time stopping, and next time we’re coming through the area we will definitely stop again.

Yesterday was my first time visiting this store and I felt like a tourist. 😆 When I entered the store, the fragrance of the candies smell filled the entire place. Beautiful fall and Halloween decors. Super clean store. Free gummy bears/candies for you to try before purchasing. I bought my favorite gummi peach rings for myself and a chocolate filled pumpkin pie pop for my hubby. I didn’t go crazy there and that’s what I bought and that’s enough sugar for us. 😍 I recommended this place if you are a gummy bears and chocolate lover. You won’t disappointed.

Ericka was very friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell she enjoys her work and sharing her love for her work with her customers. She made our visit really wonderful and we appreciated that.Ali was also very nice, friendly and helpful as well!

Got a pound of chocolate covered cashews. When I got home I noticed that the bottom of the bag was filled with little pebbles of chocolate instead of chocolate covered cashews, a few ounces worth. Very disappointing given the price. I paid for chocolate covered cashews not for little pebbles of chocolate. The pound of chocolate covered Brasíl nuts had no such problem.This is very poor quality control. They have a tasty product. But you better check your product before leaving the store. Unacceptable quality control of their machinery and product.

This was such a nice establishment. Their gummy worms are the best. 😋 My kids loved it, every direction they turned they were excited. All of the employees were so helpful. If I ever return to Merrillville, I’ll definitely stop here again.

My 1st time at Albanese and it was Awesome!! There was a huge variety. The prices are very reasonable, the staff was very nice. I cant wait to make the trip again.

Completely remodeled. You can no longer go up to look into the factory and the chocolate fountain is gone. Temporary restroom trailer is outside the building. I like the new open floor-the flow seems to be better but I was sad to find the fountain gone.

Chocolate covered gummy bears are the best you can buy but I wish they would start carrying the cinnamon and banana again online

We love the Gummy with the A on the Tummy! We are driving nearby, on the way home to Wisconsin, and had to make a detour specifically to stop by to see the Albanese shop. The gummy bears are the best I’ve ever had and the fact that they’re Gluten Free is a HUGE bonus for me! Thanks again!

I love coming here! I wish the tours were a bit more in dept or inclusive but it’s still fun to see how things work behind the scenes/glass. You really get to be a little kid in the candy store. I always like trying the samples of new flavors. And their prices are amazing. Better than buying them in the store as the same for the taste. Everything is fresh. Staff and employees are always nice and helpful. It can really get packed on the weekend and it appears to be chaos, but somehow it still functions well.

Big chocolate shop.. a bit of gummies. Not as cool as it used to be.. cant even watch the line working or see production. Probably wont be on the trip in the future. Sad sad sad

I came all the way from St Louis to buy chocolate here. (Actually, I also had other business in the area.) There is a good variety of chocolate products all of excellent quality and great taste. I strongly recommend it.

First time here with the family today. Great experience. Sad the tour was down. Bre was patient, helpful, and overall awesome! Will be back!

Was expecting a factory tour and a chocolate fountain, both seemed closed likely due to covid. The actual store itself was great and the people were really nice. My advice is to call ahead to see if the original full experience is back.

Stopped by to check it out. Bigger store than I had expected, great selection, awesome deals. With Easter this week they have a build your own basket, lots of Easter themed items and photos with the Easter Bunny. The chocolate fountain is cute but nothing to get super exited about. Large gummy, chocolate and nut selections - pay by the pound. (Ask for a sample!) Large selection of packaged individual candies (some you can find in most stores and some you cant). They had a clearance cart, as well as large 4.5 pound bags for $6. Some gifts (non candy) items. Thrilled we stopped, we will definitely be back.

Actually,I love this place. But I lead a NO SUGAR lifestyle and was SUPER disappointed that they use Maltitol in the NSA added products. Maltitol is THE CHEAPEST sugar substitute on the market. However,its also the most unhealthy. Maltitol should never be consumed by diabetics as it effects glucose levels. A company as awesome as Albanese should put customer satisfaction over profit. And if they changes their sugar substitute to either stevia or monk fruit, they would have tons of customers.

Walk in and your taken by a tall chocolate waterfall. Willy Wonka watch out. So much to choose from. Everything so good. All the nostalgia candy you like is there. Stores a little small but doable. Great family stop. Sugar overload.

I AM INFURIATED!!! Drove 2.5 hours to show the children the candy factory where they could see into the factory and a 2 story chocolate fountain. You know, things that make life worth living and that Willy Wonka could be a real person. Magic. I brought them for magic. Instead, no gummy frogs, no fountain, no walk up windows to see candy made. Just a STORE selling the same garbage trinkets and candy I can buy at Meijer. Ill be back.... for the going out of business sale.

This is the biggest candy factory I have ever seen!!!! You can even take a tour around the factory. It was an amazing experience to have visited. I tried almost every candy they had because you get to try samples of every single candy that they have in a store but be careful trying all the candy at one time, youll have sugar rush so try not to eat so much of it lol. The chocolate was very rich. The gummy bears were tasty and the jelly beans were amazing. If youre ever in Merrillville, Indiana I recommend trying this place. Its a great place to take your kids and family its also a great place for gifting.

Best gummies in the world! We love coming here, they have remodeled a bit and it is very open and inviting. They always have big bags of imperfect gummies for cheap, must visit if you are a where near here.

Albanese is always crowded on the weekend, but its the closest youre going to get to a real-life Willy Wonka factory. They have older candy that I thought wasnt being made anymore, weird candy, and in house candy. Get a cheap $6 bag of 5 lbs of gummy goof-ups and have a contest with your friends to find the most messed up bears and worms. Highly recommended.

There are no tours of the factory, only a self-guided walk on the ramp with windows facing into the factory. There were audio speakers that gave information about the candy factory but it was so loud with kids demanding candy and other customers on the ramp talking over the speakers that I couldnt hear what was being said. The best gummy bears in the world! They are filled with flavor and are very soft. Do yourself a favor and try the mango and watermelon flavors! The staff are always very helpful and as attentive as they can be considering how busy they are at times. Great local place to shop and support!

Albanese is the best gummy bear company in the world. The factory is just as magical! A little bit crowded, but candy is great priced and so are souvenirs. I highly recommend visiting if youre passing through Indiana.

Amazing variety of new and vintage items (Chunky bars!). The quality of the items was very good. I recommend the dark chocolate amaretto pecans. The Australian licorice was fresh, soft and great anise flavor. Great customer service. Kids of all ages will enjoy. The have a very large selection of sugar free items

Had the candy before but never been there before until today... Super busy, but lines were moving fast.. So many choices of chocolate.... Cant beat deformed gummy bears for $6.00 and sour worms, huge bags... Worth the trip and price... Staff was very friendly and helpful... Will be back!!

Small place to back in . Today was ok as far time loading. If they would care about truck drivers as far they care about theirs costumers would be great . I guess we are not that important to them . Wich is not a surprise. Ignorance is the name of the game in today society.

Wow. I was impressed. If you ever get a chance to visit this place you owe it to yourself to do so. I just happened to be in Hobart Indiana and I had to stop in. Am I glad I did. They claim to be the worlds best. Folks they arent lying. I will be back.

I placed an online order to try out a variety of products. Every flavor of Gummi we received was delicious! None had that over powering fake flavor taste. They were excellent true flavors. The chocolates were also excellent! Delivery was fast, the box was well packed, and they were very reasonably priced. Great for gift giving!

Store to small.. Not enough registers.. if your not in a group of 12 then you do the self guided tour which is looking through a couple of windows at bags of sugar.. Couldnt even do that because that was also the line for the Easter Bunny... Not sure why everyone talks about this place...

Highly ecommended stop on Hiway 31! Albanese has a fun and informative self directed tour you can take. There are SO many wonderful and unique candies! Bring your sweet tooth and plan to stay awhile! Look for the Giant Chocolate Fountain!

Few things in lofe measure up to the hype. These gummu bears are one. Smooth texture, sharp flavors and just sweet enough. Cant recommend highly enough.

If you are a TRUCKER PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE altogether!!! Warning has been given. Been here for 8 plus hours as I write this counting... They are loading their own box trucks one after the other, There are truckers waiting in line for hours. Some stuck at a dock some just plain old waiting in line. This load needs to be delivered tomorrow morning into PA. There is no way that is happening now. Pure disregard for HOS hours, Were is the management. Halloween is coming up. This place will have tons of loads but in this manner they will lose a good deal of business!!! AVOID this place at all costs. There are tons of better places out there!!!

I believe her name was Juliane, who helped my best friend and I out while we were there. She was very sweet and helpful, we really appreciate her patience! The store is very cute, and the prices are great. I always enjoy my time here, and recommend it!

The shop is really clean and tidy. Lot of variety in choco. If you are chocolate lover, then this is the place to go. They do have candies and dry fruits selection as well. They also got gift packs of chocolate and candies. I really like the atmosphere in the shop. Customer service was really good. The girls working here are so pretty 😍.

Love love LOVE this place! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Wanted to do the quarter pound bags for my babies birthday party and Andrew helped me make 35 quarter bags and was super patient with me an my huge order. I would recommend skipping the traditional style candy bags and go here instead. Only paid $1.14 per goodie bag and the kids loved it!

Weve stopped here a few times on our way to Chicago. The customer service has always been really good, the store is always clean, and the candy is fresh and delicious. The only thing I would complain about is the long checkouts. They are busy so it is partially understandable, but it just seems to take a long time.

Amazing little gem of a place. Colorful and bright, everything that Candy Factory should be. Informational videos and you get to watch the candy making process. Servers are generous with giving you samples of candy before you buy. Available it all sizes shapes colors, with and without sugar, too!

If you like candy this is the place to go. Gummies, chocolates, taffy and a lot of other candy. The tour was not impressive. It consists of only a few windows looking into one section of the factory and a few tv screens talking about the candy. One bathroom for the whole place for both men and women. One toilet for everyone. A few tour groups were there and the bathroom line was very long wait

What a super fun place!! They have the absolutely best gummi candy around and you get to try so many of them! Great deals on tons of candy, well worth a stop. Lots of gluten free options as well.

I took my niece and some friends from out of town. They all loved it. They provide free samples of the various candies.I know some reviews talk about no longer being able to see the factory floor.... Although you can no longer walk directly up to the window to the factory floor, you can still see onto the factory floor from a distance.The staff were very pleasant and the white chocolate covered pretzels were so good.

Best gummies in the world. You will find them all over the United States, Ive seen them in Seattle, Colorado, Tennessee, Michigan, etc. Recently they redid the inside and its a lot easier to find what youre looking for and check out.

Love delivering sugar here the only bad thing is when on the north Eastside of the plant the concrete is slopped so the trailer gets a good lean when your blowing out the sugar into the silo but other than that very clean and new system! And love I dont have to burn my fuel unloading because there air is what you use!

Took grandson for Easter pictures at Albanese Candy Factory. Although lines were long, the staff went out of their way to be friendly, giving candy to the waiting children, smiling and waving. He even got to color while waiting. Awesome visit...we plan to go back when its not as crowded.

Best selection of sugar free I have come across yet. I also like the nut and fruit selection. My husband LOVES the seafoam covered in milk chocolate. The staff is attentive even during a rush. We stop every time on our way to Chicago.

This was our first ever order and our chocolate coffee beans were delicious, shipped quickly, and were packaged up so well they survived our crazy Arizona heat, which I knew may be an issue. Im so impressed with the care they took to ship our small 1 lb bag and they are so good we cant stop eating them. I will DEFINITELY be placing a larger order soon...and I plan to be a regular customer for sure.

Great candy and great deals 5 pounds for $12 but you can buy a oops bag $6 5 pounds to me they look the same as regular bag they are all fresh i cant wait dingo back my family we drove 5 hours to see it and we came out with 20 pounds of gummy frogs and worms,Bears you will love it. Milk chocolate salted caramel are one of the best!I bet all their products are top notch.I saw their products around stores but i never considered buying them. I just said to give them a try...Recommended 100%! Very good taste and quality.

Fun stop for the whole family!! You can buy bulk freshly made candies of all varieties and lots of pre-packaged candies! You can also look through windows into the factory and see the candy being made and sorted/packaged.

We went to the trick or treat. It was amazing. They are normally amazing but today was wonderful for the kids.

Great candy, great service, TERRIBLE LOCATION!! Truck boxed us in. No way out except one way and that’s backing out!!! Never again...

Took the kids for a special treat for doing so great with the first 2 weeks of school and keeping up with their chores.Had a fun time, but with Covid19 restrictions, there are some things we just cant do there at this time. Its sad but hopefully soon we will get those things back.
