Great place for seasonal items. Besides pools, pool tables, spas, shuffle board, saunas and patio furniture… They have an amazing selection of Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and patriotic decorations. Most of the workers have been there for years and are very knowledgeable and reliable.

All staff friendly, knowledgeable or looking for the answer. Bought our little guy a play set and Burnis took good care of us. The installers off the play set were very kind and courteous. Explained everything about the care of the set for many years. Great team!

Steve was amazing. We had first went to The Great Escape and it was a STRUGGLE to talk to a salesperson. No one was interested in speaking to us, let alone selling us a pool. We walked into American Sales and within minutes Steve had us set up with a package and we were signing papers. Although The Great Escape made it seem like the chances of us having a pool for next season were extremely low, Steve at American Sales set us up with the pool we wanted THIS YEAR. We will be going back to American Sales and Steve for all of our pool needs.

Horrible Transaction. Ordered a pool end of last summer with the promise of early June install. After a month or 2 after ordering they changed the agreement to accept delivery of the pool and store it until an installation date can be determined . I was not going to agree to this term so here i sit End-of-Summer no pool and no correspondence. I just canceled my order. Would not recommend!

We purchased a Gazebo and it was a Very professional installation, installers were courteous and friendly and very knowledgeable.The only drawback was we had to wait about a month before it was delivered. But overall we are very happy with our purchase.

Ordered CR plastic patio furniture with the free white glove delivery and unfortunately it was not put together well. Called and spoke to Burnis the manager at the Merrillville store and informed him of this. He was extremely pleasant to work with and made sure that We were satisfied and very happy with our purchase. We will definitely shop here again. This will be the last time we shop here, we purchase a above ground pool costing almost $7000.00 and this was about 3 months ago. May is almost over and June is coming up fast. Everytime I call to check they say your not set up with a installer yet and everyone that I speak seems annoyed by me asking for a date of install. Now I have my wife and kids hounding everyday for an answer. They were so quick to sell us the pool and we have it sitting in the garage but really seems like they got their money so were unimportant now!

Had a pool installed . Was done poorly . Still not hooked up . They have no plans to return and finish . Job was paid in full. Would like to post pics. Would not recommend them to do your job.

I wish I could leave a zero star. I had a problem with my pool install, the installers were awesome!! But the company itself not so much. The frist liner installed was leaking. Put 10000 gallon of water in the pool and realized the pool was leaking. They replaced the liner, said it was a manufacture issue. Since it was a manufacture issue I expected them to pay for the water that I lost. After several times calling and emailing the corporate office about the issue because the merrillville store wouldnt do anything about reimbursing me for the water, I got no response. The company dose not keep true with there advertisement and I wish I would have went to a small business to purchase my pool. Dont make the same mistake I did.

Jose was very helpful and knowledgeable. Made our pool buying process a breeze. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to purchase a pool or anything else. Followed though with everything he promised and was very commutative after purchase about delivery and other questions.

Horrible customer service! I went in today April 16,2021 with my family and no one greeted us we walked around looking at pools, play set, and trampolines. We waited for a while to see if anyone would help us and nothing as we were walking out other sales men walked over to other people to help them out. We were really looking forward to buy a play set but looks like we will be purchasing elsewhere.

Not COVID safe at all... Either no masks or face shields. From the CDC: CDC does not recommend use of face shields for normal everyday activities or as a substitute for masks because of a lack of evidence of their effectiveness to control the spread of the virus from the source for source control. However, staff is super friendly.

Horrible customer service!!!!! We paid over $7,000 for pool and installation back in February and was told we would be put to the front of list if we paid up front. Well it’s now almost July and nothing. I’ve waited patiently, been back to the store to talk to sales person, left several voicemails to installers, send email to corporate, called corporate, was told someone would call me back and nothing yet. I will never buy from American Sales Again!!!!

Was not shown how to operate the filter system for opening or closing. I was told to read the instruction booklets.

Extremely disappointed in our whole experience. We bought a swing set over the phone due to the pandemic. Sales rep got our address wrong and email wrong. But not the credit card we used for a down payment! No one contacted us about finalizing the payment or financing (that was offered during phone sale.) I called to correct both the address and email and still did not receive any of the necessary paperwork. Called to ask about financing two days before and was told it was probably too late and my delivery would be cancelled. We needed to come in as soon as possible to make financing arrangements. Sales associate said ALL of this could be done over the phone. Service department at Merrillville said no, it is never done over the phone. Service department also said somone should have called 3 to 5 days ago to check in and remind us about payment or financing. No one obviously called. My husband rushed in to take care of all the financing yesterday. We were supposed to have our swing set delivered and installed TODAY. Instead, we have a very upset toddler. Installers could not complete the job because our back yard slopes. We were supposed to have someone from American Sale come survey our land to tell us if the swing set we bought would work in our yard or if we needed to level out a section for the clubhouse. So now, my husband and I need to level out that section and wait until JULY 31st for delivery and install. My daughter wont have a swing set for the entire summer. We will not be doing business with American Sale again.

Would be nice if someone would ask you if you needed help. The only employees I saw were the two cashiers. I was there around 10:30 a.m. I finally found what I was looking for after walking around for 20 minutes. It would be different if the store was packed, but I saw maybe a total of 5 other people in the store. Next time I go I am hoping service will be better. Other than that, the store seemed clean and organized.

Steven Vitek was amazing. He makes it a point to make you feel comfortable. From joking to sharing pictures of his personal jacuzzi he bought from there. He explained the pros and cons of each pool and jacuzzi. Make sure you ask him to share his Polish joke! Made our first experience doing this a great one. He explained everything and made owning a pool and jacuzzi a reality. He was very knowledgeable and we will definitely be coming here for all our outdoor needs!!!!!

My husband an I came in looking for a hot tub and got the pleasure of working with Steve Szitek. We picked the perfect one but unfortunately they had none in stock (this was the beginning of September) but they had what we wanted on order so we went ahead and put a down payment on one.Come November we got a call that our hot tub was in and ready for delivery but due to unforeseen circumstances we could not afford it at this time. I contacted Steve and the empathy he showed to us I will never forget, instead of him having the dreaded salesman mentality he showed empathy and not only that he found a way to get our down payment back to us. I will never forget hearing that and breaking down in tears because, one we thought we were going to have to chalk up the lose of $800+ dollars but instead got a Christmas Miracle when we needed it most. Steve and the group at American Sales are top notch. As soon as we are ready to purchase again theres no doubt were going here! Thank you for being kind and understanding!

Chuck helped us at the service desk when we finished the transaction and he was also a very friendly and genuine person! Not sure about the previous review regarding cdc policies and masks. The entire staff has been wearing them every time we came in even months ago and there are plexi shields and sanitizer pumps all around. To anyone concerned-it’s a safe shopping experience.

STEVE CLARK was amazing! We have been talking about a pool table for quite sometime and since it seems we will be spending more time at home for a while, we figured now was the time! After shopping at another local store where we werent thrilled with the pressure we were getting to put down a deposit immediately, we drove to American Sale. Steve assured us he would get us a deal even better than what they offered and he 100% delivered on that promise. We are so excited about the new addition to our home and we are looking forward to working with Steve again on a hot tub!

Customer service is excellent here! Social distancing and safe practices are in place and utilized! The only draw back was a lot of stock/decor is out due to shipping constraints!

Store carries a large variety and looks great. The problem is there is no one who knows anything about pools or home improvement at all. They know nothing about their stock and they dont have any interest in learning. Basically min wage bodies just there to do the absolute bare minimum. And forget trying to call and ask if they carry a certain product . Management needs to do some training and get some more enthusiastic knowledgeable staff.

I ordered a pool back in March and paid in full. My kids were so excited to get a pool finally. Our family dream. They promised six dates of delivery and still no pool. This is bait and switch. The salesman told me to come to store that week and pay for pool. I would have the pool by May for June installation. I was then told several other dates. This is a big company and unacceptable service. Very disappointed!

American Sale is a poor choice for first time pool buyers. We really liked our sales guy, so I had such high hopes that our experience would be a great one. He answered many of our questions and made great suggestions based on our needs. That is where the quality part of our experience comes to an end. As first time pool owners, we had many questions and concerns about making sure we went through the process correctly and we were assured that we would be given guidance, but once they had our money, communication was absolutely abysmal, and customer service non-existent. The pool itself was delivered a month before it was actually installed, with no communication letting us know to expect that, missing parts that left us without option for the features we paid for, abundant misinformation at all stages of the process, and a huge mess to figure out when it was all over. It is literally impossible to speak to someone in customer service or get a return phone call, and our sales rep actually tried to intercede on our behalf several times throughout the process, which, even though futile, we did appreciate his efforts. Make no mistake - American Sale has one goal - to sell as many pools as possible, without any regard for the people who buy them, or the quality of the service they claim to provide. A first time pool owner would be well advised to go with a smaller company that actually cares about its customers. We certainly will never make the mistake of doing business with them again.

As big as that place is, and all the things they are supposed to have, should have better, much lower Prices ! Prices are outrageous, same stuff you could by for pennies on the Dollar at Walgreens or home depot, or Menards, they have 3-5 dollars more, 300 light icicle lights clear 9,99- same product same amount of lights (colored) 17,99 and thats just one example, and that wasnt even for LEDs ! LEDs would have been triple, Beautiful Trees ! But youll be paying anywhere from $300,00--$1,500,00 and up ! But people still gunna need, and they got, but man o man your gunna pay !

We bought a hot tub from American Sales in March. Our sales person Steve Zitek is wonderful! If you are looking to buy a hot tub I highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. He was not pushy to make a sale. Since buying we have gone back on more than several occasions and he always takes the time to answer all of our questions and share his knowledge, as he also is a hot tub owner. He has always gone above and beyond with his customer service.

Went into the store for patio chairs and walked out with a hot tub! Steve Clark took us through a very detailed 101 overview of hot tubs and was very knowledgeable and thorough. American Sales delivered the chairs already assembled and did a great job with the delivery of our tub and the walk through on how to start up the tub.

We have been looking for a swing set for over three weeks. Trying to find one made in USA. Well as most parents with small kids probably know these are so hard to find during this time because of this Fake COVID19 Plandemic but I was so happy to get a call back from Steve Clark. Overall, Ive been very satisfied with the experience. Purchased a high end pool table and got a very nice deal, they did a great job on the installation and it looks and plays great. We had some minor issues with the box with the supplies (pool cues, cover, balls, etc), but the store was very responsive to the issue when I called and helped get me the right stuff.

Very overpricedIn response its not about matching prices. When you carry the lemax brand and the markup is 40% from anyone else in the area its a little ridiculous.
