For some reason theres always a clueless pharmacy tech at the window/counters when I pick up my medicine. This last visit was my last straw. Not only was it clear that theres a disconnect between the tech and pharmacist when it came to what was required in filling the script but she proceeded to ask me questions that would have been better answered by the pharmacist or by reading the instructions attached to the box it comes in, seeing as I do not have the credentials to mix the medications myself. Then she proceeded to catch what I assume was a horrible attempt at an attitude, in which I quickly asked her to get the pharmacist (he managed to solve the issue in less than 30 seconds). I let it slide the first time they sent me home with an unmixed prescription because the script is a difficult one to fill and Meijers was the only place who could order and fill it, but after I no longer need it, I will never use another Meijers pharmacy again unless they better train their pharmacy techs in not only properly reading instructions that come with the medication to ensure the safety of the patient, but also manners. Not everyone is immediately going to be a difficult customer, so please dont treat every customer with a bad attitude.UPDATE: Just discovered when I got home that they wrote instructions specifically made for the pharmacist to use to mix the prescription under the patient notes with the intentions of selling it and having me do it myself.

Cheaper than other pharmacies in the surrounding area, but be prepared for a wait. I suggest dropping off your prescriptions and coming back when they call or text you that your prescriptions are ready.

I’ve used this pharmacy off and on because honestly the women in there can be a little unconcerned for me as a customer however there is one technician there named Shirley who made me feel like I mattered to her. If the management can teach the other staff to treat people with respect and kindness like Shirley, I’d never go to a different place for my medication.

This pharmacy staff was very rude, judge mental, and discriminative. Just because my medication was a certain type both pharmacy techs immediately judged me, got an attitude, and after that did not care about how long I waited or anything. It was ridiculous. I felt very singled out and like i couldn’t go there without being discriminated against.Just to warn future people.

Pretty positive this place has no standards for their employees service to the public. One star isn’t low enough for the inconvenience I had to go through. I tried refilling my script but it was out of stock at the moment . I got a message saying when it would be ready by. So around that time I decided to call to make sure it was in stock before making the trip out there. From where I was, it was a 40 minute drive. They confirmed it was ready for pick up. Imagine my anger when I get to the window and they say that they won’t be in stock til the following day. Not only that, but the lady I was talking to about this said sorry have a good night and walked away from the speaker as I was in the middle of speaking. Don’t give them any of your time because they will 100% waste it and will not feel bad about it either. I refuse to give them any more of mine.

They have screwed up every script i have ever picked up. They wont take insurance information ocer the phone and.top of all that, they are the rudest pharmacy I have ever encountered. You are better off using another Meijer Phamracy.

Time after, time after time not only do they not know what is going on. The staff in this location needs some serious customer service training. They are RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL and lack the ability to deliver even sub-par customer service. There is always a “computer” issue or “we fill” 400 prescriptions a day. Neither of which are the customers problem. They seem like default answers (excuses). I asked to speak with a manager and I get a roll of the eyes. Meijer needs to consider a complete restaffing of this location. In a competitive market the only thing that separates you from the competition is a high level of customer satisfaction and this locations isn’t even close.Update 12/4 - After several attempt to correct the customer service issues in this location by speaking with the pharmacist, management and regional corporate support staff I am moving on as of 12/4 after waiting 4 days for a refill they botched it again only filling 1 of 2 I requested. I was in the location on 12/1 and the manager/pharmacist actually said “every time you come in you ask for me” yes I do! You are a leader in this department and this is part of being a leader. Resolve customer concerns, develop your staff and improve the customer experience.Overall a huge failure on all fronts in the Merrillville Meijer!

I received a message from pharmacy and when I called for clarification, before I could give my DOB and name the employee rudely interrupted me by asking for this information. I told her if she had waited I was about to tell if shed let me. I proceeded to try and ask my question but she was rude, short, and very unprofessional. You really need to train your employees on people skills!

If I could give this location zero stars I would. The pharmacy technicians at this location really don’t know their medications and their uses. Making rude and constant remarks on what they believe are invalid patient allergies and incorrect uses on medications. The staff here really need to be disciplined for their actions and attitudes.

Went without an extremely important medication because I kept getting the run-around. Finally realized someone on staff had made a critical error when they filled my script, billing a 30 day supply to my insurance as a 90 day supply, so my insurance wouldnt approve a refill as it was too soon. It was a complete mess. This error left me without my meds, and having to tango with my insurance to get a new script.Second chance given; everyone makes mistakes. Got a text that my medication was ready and it said amount due was $0.00 in the text. Upon pick-up, the price was now over $200 because of insurance deductible. Thats no ones fault, certainly. But when inquiring why the text said the amount due was $0.00, the attendant said, I cant answer that. What?Ive had good experiences, though, with a few of the staff members. The younger gentleman with the shaved head was always very nice and professional. Ive also spoken on the phone with a female pharmacist whom was very nice as well.Pharmacy staff is excessively overworked almost everywhere, I know. Especially at this location that does absolutely insane business. Meijer, you need to hire more people to handle the demand. I firmly believe errors are caused when humans are forced to work in those types of conditions. Sorry you guys have to work like dogs, and thanks for the good experiences that I did have.

This pharmacy is a joke. I moved from Munster where i used the Highland Meijer, they always were quick and polite. In Merrillville there is no sense of urgency and rude people.

Horrible customer service! Every single time I go in to get my prescription, there is always 5-6 ppl working but always ONE register opened! Theres always a line and you have to wait at least 20 minutes! Its crazy! Get some more help in there!

Went there to pick up my prescriptions was told they were working on them waited an hour and a half to be told that they werent ready yet because they hadnt even started on as I was told to wait piss me off!!!
