I went in here the other day to kill time and it was great!!! Lots of stuff to look at and everything is organized and even little stuff you would not expect to find are in there. This one lady there was super helpful and helped me find some new Star Wars comics, she even mentioned one I had no idea had come out yet. I will definitely be returning when I get the chance.

Enjoyable shop to enter and look around. Im not really the type to read comics but I do enjoy Marvel and DC.And the shop naturally has artisan work.

Awesome store jam packed with all kinds of goodies. You can find an assortments of single issue comics, paper backs, hard covers, omnibus, and graded issues. A large variety of collectibles including Japanese imports,Marvel Legends, Neca toys, Funko Pops!, and many more ordain the store as well. Definitely an awesome shop.

They are awesome. For 5 years I ha e been looking for a good comic book store as Comics are a very big part of my life and I am very peticular of where I buy my books from. I will be coming back time and time again the selection of not only books but collectibles is amazing.

Best place to find hard to find comics and figures plus they have cool stuff

We drove 45min to your store, to be treated like we were going to steal something. Once we arrive we started looking around and one of the customer service clerks started following us. We went to the back of the store and the clreck was fixing things. We went to the front of the store and the clreck was magically fixing things again close to us. We felt uncomfortable so we left. We wont be back again.

Great selection of comics and paraphernalia. I hadnt gone to a physical comic store in years and this place made me wonder why I ever thought amazon was a better option. Its just fun to go to a place and look at comics. I will certainly go back.

Great little store on Main in downtown Mesa. You will find cool fun stuff here you wont find in most stores. Although their prices are reasonable I have to refrain from going totally gaga over their groovy comics and toys!!!

Every Wednesday through September is free comicbook day. And this store is only handing out 1 at a time even to my son and his cousins that were buying other comics too. these are free comics that they are trying to withhold as if they are theirs to give. Never coming back. just lost a potential loyal paying customer. there are several others in the area. this is not a problem for me.

Amazing comic shop with a terrific selection, including a great deal of collectables. The back entrance is beautifully done, and the staff are both very friendly and helpful, as well so knowledgeable. 10/10 will be back again when Im back in the area!

Gotham is my go to shop! It is perfect for any collector! I have bought everything from comics, to trades to statues here and they are always in good condition and well priced. On the off chance that a book is damaged the owner always lets me exchange it for another copy. The owner,Kevin, is very helpful. If I ever have questions about a book, he has the answers and if he doesnt he finds out. Whenever I am looking for a certain book all I have to do it give Kevin my list and he tells me if he has them or not. Great shop, great staff, and just an all around great place to be.

The staff was friendly, I was greeted when I walked in asked again when browsing if they could help me find anything. I gave the story a good once over I read another post that had pointed out that a shop named after a DC theme has way more marvel. Im not mad at them for it though. Ive never been much of a DC fan, with the exception of Lobo. New DC is awesome which this shop dose carry. They didnt have the Todd MacFarlane Spiderman#13 understandable, I was able to grab some sweet condition Xmen 5/6/7 drawn by Jim Lee so I was happy. A good hour spent in the store lots if cool things to look at. 9 bucks for three 24 year olds comics in excellent shape.

My partner and I came to this shop, were so excited to be there. We were looking around, grabbing comics and things as we went. We were going to probably spend about $50 or more. As we were browsing, who I am assuming is the owner, approached us and addresses us very rudely. “Y’know I’m gonna have to charge you for those comics, I can’t sell them in that condition”. My partner had accidentally dropped some comics while I was looking at something. I had no idea. He was very gruff with us, giving us a look, and didn’t even really explain what was going on or what had led up to us having to pay for these books. Had he approached us kindly and let us know we had damaged product, I would have happily paid for my items and the damaged books. But the way he approached us was enough for me to never want to visit this place again. We paid for the damaged items and left. People accidentally drop things, it happens, that’s why it is an accident. He needed not treat us like delinquents for an accident, as that is how we felt.

I brought some old comics to this store and the owner, Kevin, helped me decide which ones should be graded etc, and then for a small and very fair fee actually listed them on eBay for me. In the end I was promptly paid. Dont waste your time running around looking for the best place to sell your books. Kevin is not only a good guy but he is trustworthy. You cant go wrong at Gotham City . Thanks for everything Kevin!!!! JD

This is the best comic shop in the east valley. Where other places have employees who act very elitist and make you feel unwelcome, Gotham City Comics welcomes you with open arms. I have been going here for years and the folks behind the counters are informative and genuinely enjoyable to chat with. I have found many new comics I had never heard of based on employee recommendations. Their pull lists work beautifully. You can essentially make a list of comics coming out and they will hold them for you. Its like those comic book stores online but with a more friendly human touch. And youre supporting a local business and families at the same time.They have Magic The Gathering tournaments there if that is your bag. They sometimes have a yo-yo group come in and teach you and/or your kid how to do tricks for free.If youre looking for a comic book shop that works hard for and deserves your attention and support look no further than Gotham City Comics.

Gothams owner genuinely loves comics and is very knowledgeable. There is super cool stuff all over the walls. They have every series of comic you could want, as well as a ton of super cool action figures and toys. Love comics? Go to Gotham!

Gotham Comics is the only Comic store that my boyfriend James go to.They are always friendly and quick to help us.James has a box there and our books are always at the counter before we are.Weve always had a good experience any time weve gone in there. Half the time i have to practicality drag James out of there.Anyway, 2 thumbs up to Gotham Comics.

This place is the best. Kevin and all of the staff are excellent. They are knowledgeable and friendly. I maintain a box here with some titles on regular order. Everything is there. Rarely miss an issue and if one is missed, they are quick to order it. They have even signed me up for titles I forgot were coming out because they know Im a Star Wars guy. At one point, I had considered going to another shop because the drive was a little far but I ultimately decided against it. I respect these guys that much.

Its ashame this is the only store in the area. First time here and the dude with long hair behind the counter acted like i was bothering him when i asked a question. Wont be back.

Super legitimate comic book and all things cool store in the middle of downtown Mesa. Definitely give it a look as it is some quality goods in here and very friendly staff as well.

Im done trying to go here. Every time Ive stopped by, they have been closed; even when their posted hours would suggest they were open. Today was the last straw for me. The employee behind the counter was just kicking back, on their phone, while the door was locked.I suggest just going down to Samurai Comics down the road. At least they know how to unlock their doors.

I love their selection of comics and cards. Friendly and knowledgeable. However i wont go there to play Magic due to being told I couldn’t play my Sliver Deck as they didn’t allow them to be played there regardless of format. Other than that its a great place to buy comics and cards with friendly service. If they don’t have something you’re looking for they will order it for you which is awesome.

Dude behind the counter (I believe his name was Kevin) was super helpful and incredibly friendly. The store is clean and organized, lots of books/action figures/funko pops, and tons of other things to keep you entertained. I would recommend setting up a pull list here.

We went shortly after it opened, yet the employee was very kind & patient. He helped us to find what we were looking for & then gave us plenty of uninterruptable time to look around the store. This is a good place to browse while picking up what you need.

This place is easily the best place to go check out in downtown mesa. Its a great place to check out for comic book lovers or overall fans of that world of amazing fantasy. When I took a date there and she geeked out over a few things with so much detail and enthusiasm that I knew she had to be my girlfriend. And she is so thanks Gotham City Comics Ill continue coming from time to time.

This is a fantastic neighborhood Comic Shop. Clean, nicely laid out, and with a great staff. Every time weve come in theyve been friendly, knowledgeable and greeted us with a smile.They regularly have classes and events. Great figurine collection and LOTS of Funko Pops. We live nowhere near Mesa but when we are in the area we always swing by!

This is a great shop with a lot of different options from old comics to new. They have some collectables if you are looking for something a little more unique. We spent an hour or so just looking through everything and found a few to buy. Great place to stop in for comics!

My dog is sick and I need to sell my comics to help with the vet Bills. His names Loki and he could have prostate cancer and this place really help me out and gave me some much needed cash. Im grateful and will return to give them my money when I can in the future.

I love this place. There are so many things to see and find and experience. They have ALL the comic books, and if they dont have something, they will gladly order it for you. They have a gaming area in the back and occasionally host gaming tournaments or just gaming days. They always have something fun and nerdy playing on the TV in the back too, and the collectibles they have around the store are so much fun to look at (and wish you had money for). The staff is super nice and welcoming.

This is by far my favorite comic book store Ive ever been to. The owner Miguel is really friendly and helpful. The staff is very knowledgeable. Great atmosphere and even better prices. More than worth the hour long drive past multiple other comic stores.

Awesome place. Staff is very knowledge. Literally the best comic shop in mesa. Probably the best in state. They have toys, collectibles, cards, and much more than comics. It is well worth stopping in. I go once a week.

Great staff, comic books, and gaming! I am a semi-regular who enjoys the comic inspired drinks and the atmosphere. On Tuesdays I was a part of a regular D&D session and there is a role-playing group on Wednesdays that I like to stop by and hang-out with as well. Great selection of comic book and knowledgeable staff can help you find the perfect graphic novel or the next in a series. Since the Marvel and DC revamp I have renewed interest in graphic novels, and Gotham Comics either has it in stock or can order it! Love this place!

First time customer, last time customer.$.20 for a backer and bag for my book I just purchased and this wasnt mentioned until after I had already checked out. None of the other stores in the valley do this. If youre going to charge extra is should be posted somewhere and the staff should ask before I check out. Otherwise great service even if they have a smaller selection. You would think a DC theme named shop would carry DC variants though.

Awesome place to get comics past and up to date

Absolutely love this place! My fiance and I come in here at least once a week even if were not buying anything. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and just plain awesome! They definitely know their comic books plus a lot more and are always ready to give suggestions based on each individual as they take the time to really know their customers on a personal level. I love Gotham and would recommend it for all ages!!

Place was nice. A lot of cool stuff for collectables, and for the kids to look at. But they didnt let my (obviously) pregnant wife use the restroom..

This is my second choice of comic store and they always have what I want. Usually packed and theres lots of unique items.

This place is great! Its friendly, clean, and a nice place to hang out. They have chairs and sitting areas to read up on your latest comics. I am a Ninja Turtle comic collector and was able to find some of the earlier issues of the ongoing series; very happy! I will defiantly be back.

This comic shop has a great selection of comic books and related merch. There are also trading card games and pen-and-paper games played on site. The owners are also big fans of Garbage Pail Kids.

I so can not believe that I have not written a review before now! I love this place. Great selection of action figures, comics, and magic cards. Its spacious and very comfortable. But what makes this place really stand out is the customer service, very friendly. We got a chance to talk to the owner and you can tell he really loves what he does.

Great place if you want to spend 20% over retail on terrible selection and inventory. as I was browsing I observed the cashier being condescending and rude to customers who are simply enthused to be inside of a comic book store. It was a uncomfortable experience to say the least

My local store, Gregs Comics (also an awesome shop), didnt have any more issues from the series Im currently reading, so I called Gotham City Comics up and asked them if they did. The attendant was REALLY helpful. When I got there, he had them ready for me and was really friendly. Seems like they have a really good selection, their staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and they have a great community environment.

This place was fit for everyone. It is awesome comic book and gaming plus a small coffee bar. Huge selection of comic book, magic cards and action figures. Very comfortable finding what you really want and discovering interesting comics, also they have a friendly staff in helping you find your stuff. I would definitely tell my friends to check out for this place too.
