Response to review below: customer below was a first time importer. we took the time to educate customer on import process, expectations, etc. the shipment was setup and booked with supplier overseas, not SHIPHAUS. we were asked to take over from the port of long beach. once the shipment arrived - we received documentation and invoices that were to be paid for by customer. supplier misled the customer on which charges were to be paid. additionally, the import paperwork was not completed by customer or supplier at the time of their booking. customs red flagged the shipment, which results in more charges and delayed delivery. every additional charge that the customer received was a direct pass-through charge. we provided these invoices directly to the customer. in regard to the communication updates - ocean shipments are not tracked like small parcel shipments at the terminal (while under inspection), we provide updates once received from the ocean terminals - which were not often during customs exams/inspections. the customer was very happy with our service and communication - until receiving an invoice with higher charges than they anticipated. we highly suggest working with SHIPHAUS before making any purchases overseas. this will avoid compliance challenges and a better expectation of charges. we replied to every email they sent and never a reply back. customer is just not a happy person. we are thankful for the business we earn from every customer and wish this customer the best. please contact SHIPHAUS directly for any questions. What a terrible experience! I knew nothing about importing and after lots of research found Shiphaus. The people were so friendly and assured me they would take care of everything. They quoted me rates and I double checked to be sure nothing was left out. I received a written quoted price and I felt great confidence after talking with them several times.After my shipment arrived, it was tagged for special inspection. Then, it just disappeared for over 2 weeks. I kept asking why and where was the shipment. No answers. I called them and it felt like they were making excuses. No real answers. I ask to be notified and kept up to date on what was happening. I was told nothing. I asked to be notified when the shipment would arrive so I was ready to receive the many pallet loads. They told me nothing. A truck arrived with no notice.Then the bill came. There are charges that they had not quoted and higher charges on the ones they did quote. I asked and received detailed explanation but I was still charged for items that they “did not know about” and blamed on others. Why? They SHOULD know about everything if they are offering this service. Its their job to know.I send two emails that have gone unanswered, one on May 4th and again on May 9th. It seems they don’t want my future business. So sad….they were so nice on the phone.Larry
