I have a Z900, not a KZ900, which I purchased brand new in London, England. This motorcycle was made to be sold in England and Australia primarily. When I moved to Gilbert, AZ I needed this motorcycle to meet emission standards. I took my Z900 to a shop in Mesa and that cost me a few thousand dollars and the Z900 never ran correctly so I put it into storage. In March of 2020 I started working on it again, took the Krieger exhaust and KZ900 carburetors off, put the standard 4 exhaust on it and put the original Z900 carbs back on. I was able to get it to run but it kept dying out when I would come to a stop.I asked around about good motorcycle shops and Eastside Performance was said to be Number 1 so I called and talked to Sean and told him about my experience at the other motorcycle shop. Sean convinced me that he cares about his work and will take good care while getting the Z900 running. When I arrived at his shop Sean was excited about it and exclaimed that he had never seen a Z900 up close only a KZ900. We talked and he quoted me a price range. He put Mike, one of his mechanics on it. Mike was able to get it running like brand new so I had Sean also do some of the refurb and painting. The Z900 looks just as it did in that London, England show room. He was able to do all the work and was under his price quote.Sean’s favorite movie is “Mad Max” and in that movie they used Z1000’s and Z900’s which explained why Sean was excited to see a Z900.Sean and Mike are great and really know their motorcycles which I suspect of everyone in the shop and that is why I will only allow Eastside Performance Motorcycles to work on my motorcycle.

The rear brake on my 98 Honda VFR was dragging. This was an issue I had tried to remedy at other shops, with mechanic friends of mine, and on my own, to no avail - the linked brakes made the problem too complicated. Sean and his team found the root cause quicker than expected, and got the job done right. Very happy with the result.

Summer 2019: Riding my Honda Sabre 1100 from Boston to San Diego via Vancouver BC, on the way home thru 117F Arizona heat, the motor seized up kaput. Seans company Eastside purchased an aftermarket engine for the bike, installed to perfection, changed my tire, and got me back on the road again. A very positive experience! One year and thousands of miles later, back in Boston, the bike with Seans installed engine is running great! Thanks Sean!

Sean and the gang at Eastside Performance are a set of motorcycle community rock stars! After being denied service at multiple shops - even dissatisfied shakes of the head from Harley, I finally found a home for my Rare / Unusual liquid-cooled Harley Street XG750.(Eastside is a truly rare breed of shop that works on EVERYTHING!!)I had a bit of an incident requiring some major work to the front end / suspension of the bike, plus 2 tires. The experience and quality of work at Eastside was absolutely top-notch. They really seem to pay attention to the little details and are extremely knowledgeable and able to advise on a proper setup for the way you ride your bike.Parts for my bike were almost impossible to find in time... but that didnt stop Sean! He helped find the parts I needed, got them delivered, installed, and was able to keep the communication and delivery process absolutely seamless.I will NOT be going ANYWHERE ELSE as long as Im a resident of Arizona.P.S. They also will likely save you 15-30% over the dealership! I dont normally shop cost when considering services like this, but the price I paid compared to going to Harley was also breathtaking!

I was ready to give up on my bike but these guys figured it out and fixed the issue for a fair price. Dont waste time or money anywhere else and give these guys a call. Thanks again Eastside! Eastside Performance is the finest motorcycle shop in the Valley. (Ive had bikes serviced in the Valley since 1994.) Ive taken my bikes to EP or a number of years, and the referral started from Western Honda because WH no longer wanted to work on my pristine, but aging, VFR800. Since being referred to Sean and his crew, his shop has worked on my 00 VFR800, 07 Ducati GT1000, 08 CRF250R, and 11 DR650. In each instance, Eastside Performance has provided exceptional service (routine maintenance, fairing painting, tires, suspension work), and has been competitive on pricing. In the age of the internet, its easy to focus solely on price, but Seans prices are competive while never compromising on outstanding service. Experienced and knowledgable motorcyclists take their motos to Eastside Performance. And, if youre riding a vintage bike, theres NO better place than EP.

Have 78 Yamaha XS650. Bought 6 yrs. ago. Had head gasket leak. Called around for repair. Because of age they said go to Eastside. Got an hourly quote. Gave them motor and paid for kit upfront. While head was off went ahead and had them hone out and replace rings and valve guide seals. 1000 bucks. Just for labor. Remember I took out the motor. He mentioned to torque head bolts after 500 miles. When I went to turn a smaller bolt it was 1 lb. from snapping. You can tell when a bolt is going to break. Someone knew. When I called about it he insisted I did it. 5000 miles later it was leaking again. Took it to a shop that asked if Eastside checked the surface before they reassembled. Not.If you have money to throw away, go there.

I first brought my 1998 Honda Shadow when I first started riding 3 years ago and knew absolutely nothing about motorcycles. I needed someone I could trust to give me a fair deal and quality service.Choosing to use Eastside as my mechanic has been a great decision. I have learned a lot about bikes thru them but still need their expertise. They approach each situation by only addressing what needs to be done, especially with an older bike, rather than spending a lot of money and fixing things that in the end were just fine.In one case I had an issue with the bike that could have easily been resolved by spending a lot of money, but they took the time to fix simple things and let me try it out and in the end the problem was resolved for a few hundred instead of a few thousand. They have made my new to riding experience incredible. I simply can get on my bike and enjoy riding and dont spend time worrying about if my bike will be the issue. When I purchase a Harley later, I will still use them.

About a year and a half ago, I took my old 1979 Suzuki GS550L to their shop to have it worked on. They were recommended to me by the Suzuki dealer, since the dealer did not work on old bikes. Eastside Performance got my bike working again and I was happy at the time. They had cleaned my carburetors and replaced a few O rings, and everything was working well. Now, less than a couple years later, its not running well. I have started to become comfortable with doing maintenance on my motorcycle, so I decide to clean the carburetors myself. I pull them out, and I found a number of problems that could have only been caused and/or overlooked by the last person to work on the carbs. Since I knew that they hadnt been touched by anyone since Eastside, these problems must have been their fault.2 broken pilot fuel screws (easy part to break, easy and cheap to replace) were the biggest problem. The other problem, is that the old gaskets for the carbs were not scraped off. They left the old gaskets on, and put new ones on top of them. They quoted me $800, tried to charge me $1200, I negotiated to $1000. They went WAY over budget, and they still did things the quick and dirty way.I guess I shouldnt think to take my old bike to a performance shop to get regular work done on it. Its not worth the money.

Vary unprofessional and no help what so ever. they were rude, lied about the labor involved and way overpriced. I got quoted $100-150 at the Honda Dealership Western Honda powersports to jet my Superhawk carbs. when I told them the quote Honda gave me they just laughed and said IDK how there able too do that price but its going to take 50 minutes just to get to the carbs which is a lie, I do almost all my maintenance myself, it only takes 10-15 minutes TOPS if not less to take off everything in the way, I just upgraded to a K&N air filter and it took me about 20 minutes to take off the gas tank put in the filter and put it all back together again, once you have the air filter out theres only 8 Phillip screws left to get to the carbs. they quoted me $250 to do the same job. then they said they dont guarantee or warranty the work because theyve done this job many times before and it almost never fixes anything. My motorcycle runs fine its just needs too be jetted because the exhaust has been changed, Ive removed the Pair valves and Ive added a K&N air filter so its running a little rich now, theres nothing wrong with the motorcycle it just needs the air-fuel ratio adjusted so why cant they guarantee the job for twice the price of Honda dealership.

Back in November my 86 VFR700 got backed into while I was on it thanks to a blind SUV driver. Leaked oil, fuel coolant and really damaged the fairings. Called around and was told Sean was the go to guy for anything old or classic. He knew how to talk and work with the insurance company to make it painless and very quick. Took my bike in and tore it just about completely down and his crew worked their magic! Fairings were sourced and repaired and completely repainted, with cleaning/detailing what was left on the bike, to make it look even better than it was when it hit the show room floor. Along the way he called multiple times and brought up issues he noticed and multiple ways I could go about it. Was even able to source some parts you just cant find anymore for this older sports tourer and the ones he couldnt he fabricated up parts that look like they were OEM.Always answered any questions I had with a good explanation as to why he said so. Very passionate about classic bikes and providing a great service and product, it really shows!

Living up in Payson I am a little secluded from all those talented folk who can handle more technical issues with my motorcycle, So, when it came time to get my bike dyno-tuned, I called around to see who would be the go-to guy for the job..I was Referred to T.J. at Eastside Performance in Mesa by Western Honda (where I purchased my bike) as “one of the two best guys in Arizona”, and also by my local Motorcycle Mechanic here in Payson.. Not enough.. I looked up his company online, and waded through all his great reviews (and I-think - two “suspiciously bad ones :o)...So, I took the plunge and contacted Eastside Performance - and was immediately handed over to T.J., who took time to explain what he could do for me and my bike..This is all new to me, you understand; But T.J. explained everything I needed to know in plain English, and in an easy, amiable, friendly manner (as some people seem just naturally blessed with).. He didnt sugar-coat stuff.. No hyperbole, no salesmanship.. Just, plain laid it out for me..What he said, Sounded good to me.. Impressed, I took a few days to confirm with my local mechanic that there was indeed an issue with fuel delivery with my bike - and I set up an appointment with T.J. to take my bike into his shop..A couple of days later I was riding down 80+ miles of hill to drop my bike off with T.J. - with the understanding that - being really short on time - I was looking to pick up my bike the next morning..Unfortunately, The part that T.J. ordered for my bike, didnt come in until late the same day that I had dropped my bike off, so, T.J. and his Crew were unable to install the PowerCommander they needed to Dyno-tune my bike that same day - which - would normally have delayed completion of the job in any other shop by at least one working day..Not in T.J.s Shop However!!T.J. and his crew came in An Hour and a Half EARLY to get My Bike Ready in time for me (Im still trying to wrap my head around that one). Customer Service... Just .. WoW...Okay, so my bike is now Dyno Tuned..Whats the difference?I was using Cobras latest and Greatest Fi2000 PowrPro Tuner, but was having lots of problems coaxing consistent performance from my bike.. Let me tell you.. The difference between using an Off-The-Shelf, One-Size-Fits-All fuel processor, and a Professionally Installed and Programmed PowerCommander is Night and Day..My bikes throttle used to feel like it was attached to my engine with a rubber-band, I was always trying to maintain speed by adjusting the throttle this-way-and-that.. Now.. My bike cruises at one speed at whatever throttle position I turn it to..Awesome....Acceleration is noticeably better, horsepower and torque being improved, but also more because of Always-Accurate and Optimized fuel delivery..Building speed on acceleration is Much more linear with No More Surges..My bike is now much smoother riding..Even the sound my bike makes.. It Used to sound like the exhaust was full of cotton - now each detonation in each of the cylinder heads is defined..Was this whole thing cheap.. No.. No it wasnt.. But If I saved the $525.00 I spent on that Cobra fuel management system and just handed it to T.J., I would have saved A LOT of Money! :o)..Thanks to T.J. and his Crew, My bike feels almost lighter, more agile, very much more responsive to throttle.. And I am very happy about that (Hence this Ridiculously Long Review)..To all the Guys, To T.J., and his Always Friendly Wife..Thank you..For what you were able to do to my ride, and For your Great Customer Service!Ill be back for another Dyno-Tune when I trade up - hopefully - later next year.. In the meantime.. Im Very Happy with what you were able to do with my ride.. Take Care and All the Best!

I recently took my 2011 FLHX to Eastside Performance to have a Bake Drivetrain Reverse assembly installed on my bike, and a Dyno.Baker Drivetrain had (1) misrepresented the product as a direct fit, and (2) sent a product that had manufacturing defects.TJ, owner of Eastside Performance, worked with Baker and myself forcing them to give us the correct fix, rather than the less-than-satisfactory repair they wanted us to accept.I received what I estimate as an excellent install, thanks to TJ, and am delighted with the finished product.I would recommend this shop to anyone that demands quality and perfection with their cherished choice of ride.
