Pep Boys helped me out BIG time when my car battery died and AAA did not have the replacement type for my car. I had to find a battery immediately or else my car would die again. I called several businesses who either could not service my car right away, or did not have my battery type. I called Pep Boys around 3 pm and explained my situation and they did everything they possibly could to make sure I’d have a new battery and it done by the end of the day.I am so grateful for everything the staff did for me. I was in a really bad bind and having them treat me so nicely, as well as fix my car immediately was a godsend. I highly recommend the Pep Boys on 6638 Veterans because of the staff. They seriously helped me out when I needed it.

Made an appointment online for 4pm. Arrived at 345pm and was told an appointment doesn’t guarantee a specific time slot. That if I wanted service there would be a 2 hour wait to begin service on my vehicle. Really?!Not to mention the customer service was bland and preoccupied with other things.Don’t bother using their appointment system provided online. It’s useless.

Reliable service, friendly and knowledgeable. Bear in mind, they no longer sell auto parts of any kind here - Pep Boys is now ONLY a care service center. They changed about a year ago.The cost is pretty consistent with other care care places, and the wait - not too bad, but it might be impossible to get your work done in a few hours.I’ll go back here if I don’t have the time (or the specialized tools) to fix it myself.

Every time I come to this location for one problem I leave with another. I went in to see why my car was running hot and they let me know what the problem was and how much it would be(which was extremely expensive). When I left the shop, the plastic cover under my car was hanging. I went back that next morning(before work) to get them to fix it back how it was before I went to them, only to be told that it would be several hours before I could get it looked at. They were very defensive and have horrible customer service. TAKE YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE!! I’M NEVER GOING BACK!!

Brung my car in at 9am to get a wheel alignment and 4 new tires, picked my car up at 1:00pm, it was very fast and convenient! They have the best deals and specials here at pepboys and Mrs Kitty one of the employees was very helping and a super nice lady . Had an appointment 3 days ahead for 1pm oil change and tire rotation. Arrived on time and said he was backed up. I waited 2 hours with no update on car. Went to the desk and asked how much longer and was told 2 cars ahead of me. This is totally unacceptable. The need a manager that can handle the job. If you have an appointment they should honor it or keep oil change separate from car repair.I will never go back. No way to run a business! Make people wait hours for something that takes a half hour or less.

Not the best service, could be more friendly... and dirty auto shop. Had an appointment on a weekday to change 4 tires, waited for almost 3hrs. I saw my car in the parking lot after it was done but no one let me know that it was finished. I was the only person left waiting there... I had to find someone to ask about my car which was done 40mins ago. Seem like they forgot about me??? Would have been there even longer if I did not ask. Will not come back again

I had a 9 a.m. appointment to have two tires replaced, and got checked in quickly. However, it was nearly noon before I got out. Then again, it was a Saturday morning and they were packed. I had ordered the tires from Amazon and chose Pep Boys to have them installed. Like I said, checking in and out went quickly. I will use them again when I order the other two tires, but I wont get the appointment for Saturday morning again.

This was a waste of my time, money and effort. I got no results for the problems I was having with my car. Very dissatisfied with service and I have been a top fan of pepboys for over 25 years. I brought my car in because it was running hot and I needed it for work for the weekend and they found and gave my a price of everything but what I brought the car in for. I had to get the car towed again to another car dealership for the same problem (Running hot)

Dropped the car off at 9:30 AM and was told they would get to it by 1:30 PM. Called back around 1:30 PM and was told 4-5 PM and that the girl up front was new and she should have told me to make an appointment because there was no guarantee. Called back around 4:30 PM and they werent sure they were going to get to it today at all. Finally just went and picked up a car that had been there basically all day and had not been touched. Poor customer service and poor communication.

The service here is completely awful! Waited over 7 hours for a battery change because they needed to go get a battery from another shop. Watched the team working the whole time- they had no sense of hustle. Only saw about 5 guests come and go the whole time! Needs to step up their customer service.

Charlie was so helpful! He got my old, bad Bosch battery out of my car and carried the free replacement battery back to my car. It was a free replacement because the Bosch battery died before the 36 month warranty expired. :)

My issue with my visit wasnt my service but the lack of responsibility from this location when it came to health standards during this Covid-19 pandemic. They have a sign on the door telling people all customers and staff must wear masks but when I went in no customers were wearing masks and the employee at the service desk had his on his forehead. It looked like most of the people actually working on cars were wearing masks at least but none of the employees inside were. Its disappointing to say the least. The staff was professional otherwise but this has definitely put a damper on how I see Pepboys and how much they actually care about their customers.

I have my oil change in this Pep Boys and I wont do it again. Even i asked when i arrived if they have mobil one and their answer was yes, they still replace de oil with Penzoil which was no I asked for, I waited for two hours and make an appoinment as well, really bad experience. If they dont carry that brand they just should it told me, and i will take my business to other place.

I dropped my car off at 8:15 a.m this morning at the Veterans Blvd, Metairie location and had a reservation. I was told that my car would be ready by noon. I came to pick my car up at 2:45 p.m. and was told that it wasn’t ready and now I would have to wait. Why do I have to wait when PepBoys has had my car for almost 7 hours. I was told that they worked on the cars that people were actually waiting for before mine. What kinda of BS is that! Then what is the point of making a reservation! The service is terrible and extremely slow. The staff is rude and there is no accountability from management. There are a few gentlemen there that take pride in their work and character as individuals. Mr. Troy and Mr. Charles were a pleasure to speak to and got results. My wait time was 4 hours without any communication from the staff. Even after such a long wait my issue was not resolved and I was told Id have to come back.

They do not take you by appointments you actually get taken sooner if you are a walk in. There were 2 lines and the walk in line gets taken care of first. I had been waiting for almost 10 minutes when another walk in came and they were taken before me! The people were not very friendly but my stuff did get fixed. I had to get a patch in my tire and a windshield wiper and it wasnt super fast but they did have quite a few people in there and they are working on a holiday. I always feel a lot more comfortable when customer service is great because it makes me feel as if they want to do a good job. When everyone you speak with seems angry it makes me nervous. No one said hi! or thank you! I even tried to say thank you and I got an uh hm. I do have to say the most important thing is my tire is fixed and my windshield wiper works.

Came in to get brake work & front end alignment around 10am. Literally took the entire day to work on my car. They had my car sitting for hours with the back tires off with nobody working on it. Workers constantly disappearing and standing around on their phones. This will be my FIRST & LAST time ever coming here. Worst service ever.

Got a front end alignment and they stole my new front c v joints and put some broken ones on..for real...vets store..they will also mess with your car so you have to bring it back for repairs..even loosen your spark plugs.Im lucky to be a aircraft mech.Cant stop thinking about the c v joints locking up and the car rolling sideways down I - 10 at 80 miles an hour with my family in it.

Brought my moms 2003 Buick century in because ac wasnt cooling well after having a mechanic look at it they said the whole ac system had to be replaced at a cost of $2600 got a second opinion at extreme automotive in kenner La.he said it was 8oz low on refrigerant charge 80 dollars an its working great ill never go back to Pepboys

I like that there is still a full service auto parts store still around. Since the days of Western Auto, it was easy to find a bit of competence behind an autonparts counter. I guess with todays instant gratifiction world, it is nice to find some businesses oriented towards customer service. I really like Manny Moe and Jack. Thanks for being there.

Made an appointment at the time they said that they could mount 4 tires, not the time I wanted for my schedule, But was told if I came in at that time it would only take 1 1/2 hrs. Dropped the car off at the correct time and was informed it would be 3 hrs, so I got a ride back to work instead of waiting. Returned 6 hours later to find out that they had not even started any work at all on my car, 6 hours & not a bit of progress..... and their response was, well we have been busy...And they couldnt have cared less about it, including the manager of the store, said if I could leave it for 2 more hrs they could start on it..... when I looked around all I saw was employees out in the parking lot smoking & wasting time. Nobody doing any work at all. Never bring your car here for auto service, NEVER !!

Horrible! They lose car parts and break things on the car that were not previously broken. They put a hole in my gas tank and they had to replace it. They never could get my NEW tires to seal on the rims on my car. I had to go back to PBs over and over, each time getting another excuse. I ended up having to buy new rims, and then they failed to seal two tires on the new rims. They lost my lug lock for my rims, etc, The service people sit around at the counter and tell each other jokes. The place is horrible, avoid it completely!A few more things I left out... One of the long time clerks at the front counter (Bryan), stated that I qualified for a rebate on my new rims. I was forced into buying new rims, because they could not get my NEW tires to seal on my current rims. He gave me the paper work to get the rebate, but when I went online and entered the info, the rebate did not work. Finally after weeks I was credited for the rebate amount, but after the extra expenses added on during the rim installation, it was like I did not even get a rebate.Recently I got an estimate for new brakes at this location. The estimate was over $1,000. I took my car down the street to Midas, and they fixed my brakes for a little over $600.00. And this included a lifetime warranty, and free oil change. And unfortunately there were more problems over several years, having work done on my car at this location. The only reason I kept going here, is because all four of my new tires were purchased at this location, and they could not get the tires to seal on my rims.

The WORST car service experience of my life... I needed a tire replaced. I was told it would be a 30 minute wait. (Visit #1)Waited for 2 hours to be told that they needed to order a new piece in order to switch out the tire. I returned the next day like I was asked. (Visit #2) Waited for another hour to be told that they dont have the part. They needed to order it. They would call me when it came in. No one ever called. I called them and was told the part did come in, so I went in that afternoon for them to finally replace the tire. Mind you, I had now been driving on my donut spare tire for 4 days. (Visit #3) I wait for 2 hours to be told that the WRONG PART WAS ORDERED. They had another similar piece that they could use temporarily to change the tire. So I finally got my new tire on and got out of there. An entire week later, I actually got a call that they received the correct piece. (Visit #4) I stopped in after work for the correct piece to be put on my tire. Over the two weeks since I initially went in to Pepboys, my alignment got increasingly worse and my car was shaking uncontrollably due to the tires not being balanced like they should have been. I mentioned this to the head mechanic and he said to come back in when I have two hours to spend with them -- like I hadnt already spent enough time with them. (Visit #5) I went in today to get the issue -- that they created by not properly balancing them in the first place -- fixed. By this point, I am scared to go over 40 mph because my car is shaking so badly AND I know this is taking years off of my tires including my brand new tire that they just put on. I was turned away saying they couldnt fit me in. It has now been 3 week since visit #1. I supposedly have an appointment Wednesday for the car to finally be fixed. I will have to continue to be terrified driving my car for 3 more days.. hey, maybe visit #6 is the charm. Never again!

I stop by often to buy parts from Jermey in the speed shop. They have many performance parts and parts for classics in stock. I work in the movies and need hard to find parts for classics. He always takes the time to find what I need and if they do not have it he finds and orders it for me. I occasionally deal with others and everyone is courteous and helpful.

I DONT SUGGEST ANYBODY TO COME HERE. I left my car here to get my tire fixed and some how when I picked it up my windshield was cracked pretty bad. The funny part is that they didnt tell me anything, I had to go back to speak with the service manager that didnt seem really helpful and was suggesting that there is a chance they wont do anything about it. Once again I recommend you going somewhere else if you like taking care of your vehicule because they are going to mess it up. Do yourself a favor and go to your dealership or any other place that take responsibility about their actions.

I had a 6pm appointment, but my car didnt get taken into the shop until just after 7pm! Then it wasnt until 7:45 until my car was done - this was just for an oil change too! An hour and 45min for an oil change?? Really?? Dont waste your time here! The lack of customer service is absurd and who knows if they really do the work anyway. There was a guy picking up his truck who had a nail in his tire. When he went outside to drive away, he said the nail was STILL IN his tire!! He came back in and complained, but who knows how much longer it took to get the work done? Take your business elsewhere!

Im sure they can mount a tire. Dont expect them to be able to repair anything else. My step son has a 12 fusion that came with a vehicle protection plan. They told me I had to go to pep boys for repair of inoperable air conditioning system. I called 4hrs after drop off because I hadnt heard from them. I was told that a/c system was working and they could not duplicate my complaint. She added there was a humming coming from power steering pump. I replied that the vehicle didnt have a hydraulic pump its and electric system. She said shed try again to get a/c to act up but if it did they could diagnose. Few hrs later I went to PB only to find car had never been moved. I started up car and of course the a/c was blowing hot. I brought it to Bris attn to which she replied take it somewhere else. Duane then told me they didnt have a/c tech avail, he had left 15min earlier. I wasnt upset that they couldnt fix prob. I just wish that I was told up front that it was beyond the scope of their mechanics. The a/c system in a car is fairly simple and I had already checked compressor and refrigerant pressures in my garage before my visit. Prot plan rep agreed to let me take it to Matt Bowers ford for diag. A few more dollars for quality service will be well spent I hope. Ill reply with diagnosis.

It was after 6p, other mechanic shops were closed, we were in town on vacation and leaving the next day. We were panicked that the car wouldnt get us back home in time. This Pep Boys location saw us immediately, diagnosed the problem, fixed it and sent us on our way in 15 mins. You could not ask for more helpful and friendly service from a mechanic shop.

I purchased a starter about a week ago from Pep Boys Metairie. I was charged a core charge, but told when I returned the core, I would receive my core charge back. Unfortunately, I misplaced my receipt, but I didnt think it would be an issue. Pep Boys obtained my phone number at purchase, so surly they would have a record of my purchase. I was directed to the night manager to assist me, due to the fact I had no receipt. Tom proceeded to chastised me because in his words, I was told to keep my receipt. Although its common knowledge that issuing a credit would be easier with a receipt, no one at Pep Boys actually told me that. I then calmly asked if it were possible to pull up my purchase with my phone number, I was again chastised for questioning his authority. I then asked the night manager for his name. He Told me Tom and added, I dont care who you tell. I then took my useless starter core and left the store. Well guess what Tom, Ive been the automotive industry from 25 years now. I also meet about 120 customers per day. I have 70 associates that work for me, most of them technicians. I have 4 cars and many family members who I perform maintenance on their vehicles. I will do what Tom requested and tell as many people as I can this story. Does Tom think Pep Boys is the only place for me to buy my auto parts. I can assure you Tom cares less that he lost a long term customer today!

Made an appointment with the understanding Im from out of town and I dont have alot of time. I showed up at 7:50 (they open at 8) and it took them 3 hrs to simply tell me what was wrong with my car. Then they started telling me I needed to replace things that I just had replaced and wrote me an estimate for several thousand dollars. Then I asked then to simply change 2 rear diSC brake pads and put 1 rotor on 1 side.... total was almost $400 with no warranty. Good bye and thanks for wasting half my day.

Bad service. They never finish the job right. When I purchased 4 tires with them they managed not to re-set the TPMS (Tire pressure monitor) leaving the light on. Service takes forever and prices are nothing special. They recently modified the store increasing the storage area for parts, and decreasing the space for accessories. Looks like there are now focusing more on parts.

The reason for the them not rotating the tires is because they said I need new tires, bull, I just got new tires last year.
