They dont sell propane by volume/weight. Instead they hilarious charge a flat $20 fee no matter how gas you get. That is one of the the most transparent schemes to rip people off Ive yet seen. I guess theyre trying to take advantage of the rich folks in the neighborhood? Not sure but beware.

Quick, convenient and always helpful staff. If they dont have the item you need, they will give you their best guess as to where you can buy it. Some items are a little higher than Home Depot or Lowes, but youll spend more in gas to go to the big name stores. What really helps is the speed of service, if youre on a job, you can get what you need and get back to the jobs Ive a lot quicker...

Ordered something online which was “in stock”. Got there and had to spend 20 minutes trying to find the person who handles online orders. Am told “we don’t carry that” and then am insulted when I try and get my money back. If you need ANYTHING I would recommend going literally ANYWHERE ELSE.

I am never disappointed here. They are friendly & knowledgeable. However, they allowed an elderly gentleman to enter without a mask. I did not hear any of the staff ask him to put on mask.

This Ace is never busy, always friendly and guaranteed a good visit. They always have plenty of parking spaces, and the employees are never too busy to answer any of your questions. I go in here quite often to get keys made and various things. Never had a problem in the 10+ years of doing business with them. Bassils embodies a good local business franchise. Will gladly go out of my way to frequent here as much as possible.

Always helpful, been shopping there since they opened in the 1960s. Quicker than those Home Labyrinth stores.

The employees are very informative & can answer any questions you may have. No matter what you may need for your house, its there & they can take you to it immediately. Plus its so much easier & quicker to have everything at your finger tips rather than searching a store the size of a football field because theres no one to guide you & answer questions. My vote goes to Ace Hardware Everytime.

The staff here is always very friendly. My only complaints are that their hours are rather short, and selection can be a bit limited compared to the likes of Home Depot or Lowes (as expected). For a quick trip to grab some supplies though, its a great place.

The hardware store comandeered by the big box outlets dont understand places like this, a real hardware store. The staff is friendly and helpful, if it is there, and it probably is, you will find it. Stop on in and get a key made, find that bolt or nut youve been searching for, get some paint, or pick up a barbeque pit. There is quite a selection of goods here.

Employees have bad manners i sat at the door for 20 minuts and no one ask me for assitance. I was returing an item and asked for the manager and a girl Daniele told me she cant return the non open item in a rude way.. The owner Fred is disrespectful.

Small store with decent selection and most employees are helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the attitude I got when making a return recently will send me elsewhere. Ill do what I should have done and drive way out of my way to go to Baldwin Taylor.

They have a great supply of products and are usually willing to help depending on who you get.Theres a guy named Kenny who is awesome! But theres a tall skinny man with gray hair you should avoid. He has no patience and is kind of rude. They give away flowers on Mothers Day, so sweet!

OVERPRICED!!! Went to basils ace hardware in metairie to get a few pieces of glass cut. Didnt ask the price first because I assumed everywhere would be about the same price. Well I was proved wrong. I had just purchased a few pieces from a different hardware store uptown a day prior which I assumed if anything they wouldve been more expensive than anyone. That wasnt the case, bassils ace hardware was 4x the price for the exact same thing. The other store was right at $2 per piece of glass cut and everything out the door, where basils ace was $9 per piece of the exact same glass. Not only were they way more expensive, the cuts were terrible, jagged, and so not square that I couldnt even use them. Which lead me hang to go to lowes where I got 3 larger than I needed pieces of glass and a glass cutting tool and cut the sizes I needed myself, keep in mind Ive never done this before and was able to cut it better at home myself with a measuring tape n a $4 glass cutter. I asked about the price when I was checking out and was told for real?, Id love to know where they get their glass. Lowes also about $2.40 for their much larger uncut glass, had lowes glass cutter been operable that would have been no extra charge. Try to do the right thing by go to a local store but wont make that mistake again, not going to pay 4x as much especially when they cant even do the job properly, and I can do it better myself for cheaper anywhere els.
