This is an old school independent lumber yard, and the guys know their materials, so it helps to know what you are looking for before calling for prices - otherwise they might rub you the wrong way and end up having a bad experience. Also, you might think their prices are high compared to Lowes or Home Depot, but youd be surprised, they often have different grades of nice plywood that are right around the same as the national retailers, but better quality & service make it worthwhile to shop here instead.

Been going here for 30 years and it never changes, great people and beautiful lumber. If you want a quality job start with a quality product at a reasonable price.

This is the place to go if you want to deal with people who care. I have bought plywood and also beautiful cypress planks here. Each time, I was shown what was available, given recommendations, and help in picking out exactly what I wanted. They aim to make you happy. A great place.

I have been a customer of Gueydan Lumber for 15+ years. They have always tried hard to accommodate my specialty lumber needs. These people really understand lumber and carry unusual species and sizes! Expect an old school lumberyard experience, dealing with the actual Gueydan family members and long time employees. Do not expect a big-box home improvement store experience, and thats a good thing!Highly recommended!

These people have been around a long time for a reason. They sell quality products, if you need boards sized to your specs they will do it, they can run trim in any wood they stock. I get along with everyone there and I am not easy to get along with

Lumber for people who need better quality, fewer knots and straight timbers and dont mind paying a little extra for it. Always knowledgeable and helpful. Wood for when your project has to have quality stock and/or a variety of different woods.

I went to Gueydan hoping to check out their stock for some upcoming projects. I walked up to two men wearing Gueydan shirts, politely said hello and asked if they could help me to which they just stared at me and then went back to what they were doing. I promptly left and went to another lumber yard. Unprofessionalism does not warrant my business. Like other reviews have said and I have experienced myself, the people that work there are rude.

This place DOES have the variety of wood for projects, HOWEVER after 3 trips for materials I have found the inside sales personal to be quite RUDE and far from professional. This has been the case every trip there.

Staff is even rude on the phone. Wont be buying anything from them.

Good place to get molding

They close for lunch at 12 and reopen at 1. When they do reopen they make you what an hour for your lumber. Very expensive and unprofessional. Avoid this place if you can.
