I will forever sing the praises of KHM. I had an issue that needed to be evaluated ASAP to determine if it was a safety issue or not. They didn’t have an opening but offered to have me come in just as they opened to at least take a quick look. Diagnosed and quoted me a repair that we scheduled 2 days later. They went above and beyond to help. Even gave me a breakdown of things I needed to watch and evaluated the costs vs value of the vehicle overall to help me best make decision.

I came to this shop last week to do maintenance and replace couple of components for my cars suspension and came today as well for a quick question, I have to say that both experiences well awesome because not only he did a great job replacing the parts I had but also took the time to explain to me any questions or concerns I had about my car. I can honestly recommend KMH MOTORS to anyone that is looking for a guy who is honest and most importantly HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING! I’m an automotive enthusiasts and somewhat of a backyard mechanic. I’ve been going to KMH motors for about 2 years and I’m so glad I found this shop. Now it’s the only shop I will let service and perform upgrades to my Audi A4 S-Line and my R8 Spyder supercar. Keith and his team does amazing work, in a timely manner, at a great value, and they are super knowledgeable, professional and personable. Been to KMH multiple times. First time I thought I needed brakes but they made sure I understood it was just a faulty censor. Brought the car back to get some components upgraded and general maintenance. When the car needed some newer brake lines, they made sure to call me and let me know about the cost and time. From an enthusiast who doesnt have a garage right now its nice to know my car will be cared for by someone who treats it like their own. Highly recommend KMH and their expertise!

Ive been going to Keith for the last 3 or 4 years and have taken 2 cars to him, a Mk 5 GTI and Mk 7 Golf R. Hes competent, prices his work fairly and knows cars. Ive been pleased with the service Ive received the past few years and plan on continuing to take my car to him when it needs service. I generally dont write reviews, but good mechanics can be tough to find so Id recommend him.

I own a vw tdi the motor was damaged, I had the motor replaced.The mechanic whom did the work had no clue how to make the engine run correctly?New scene;I was given the name of Keith at KMH motors he saved me I’ve been there at least ten times timing belt, oil change exhaust updating & adjustments steering tie rod ends all my brakes shocks he rescued me when I put gas on the diesel fuel recommend a specialist on a side project & always charges me beyond fairly more than reasonable.. super cool mechanic! 👍🏾

Couldn’t be more pleased with the service I received from Keith at KMH. When my car broke down due to a blown water pump he fit me in the next day and completed the water pump, timing belt and all other parts for a price far below any other shop or the dealer would charge, all within 24h of the time I called.He also did additional work like scan for codes and other issues, and re-time my injection pump, the car is running noticeably better and getting even better mileage.I’ll be sure to give them a call for future repairs as I don’t believe there’s a more experienced VW/Audi tech in my area.Thanks again!

Keith is Mr. VW he is the master of the TDI. He so knows all of the gremlins in the VW Lineup. Do yourself a favor trust KMH with your VW. You wont regret it. He also helps plan out the required maintenance for timing belt, transmission service and things of the such he recommends updates and planned maintenance to heep your VW in tip top shape i own a 2006 VW TDI 150k miles no issues.

Brought my 2012 audi S4 to this shop with test pipes to get installed, I was quoted $1060 which seemed high but had no issues with it, test pipes were installed and 2 weeks later im getting a bank 2 too lean code, I sent a datalog to my tuner and he says something on bank 2 is off and I bring the car back to keith to get it checked and 02 spacers removed and he said everything was fine, 1 week later I get it checked by another shop and they find a exhaust leak on the test pipe causing the bank 2 issue, for $1060 there shouldnt be any exhaust leaks especially after being over checked, they also left a wrench in my engine bay which almost destroyed my belts and car, super unprofessional stay away

Misdiagnosis, charging hefty money, dishonest and blames customer. BEWARE!Have taken my Vw cc many times for repair and trusted Keith with the car. I felt he has good understanding of VW until I had an issue. I took my car to dealership and other mechanics and everyone told me that there is no point in putting money in repair as the timing chain came off and the car wont start. Finally, I called Keith and he told me its a usual issue and wont cost more than $1500 to repair. I did explain him what dealership said and he told me he is sure they are not correct. I dropped the car at his shop. When I came to pick up the car I ended up paying $3500 and my car still wont drive. I told him that the issue is still there and then he said the same thing that the dealership said. He also said he didnt diagnose before as he was expecting it to be a different issue. I also didnt get any refund (he incorrectly diagnosed the issue) which is usually what the other repair shop do.Update 1: After my review, I received a call from Keith and we exchanged our experience. I will continue to update my review if things change. I also appreciate him calling and discussing the issue.Update 2: I wasnt expecting such a response after what Keith has discussed on phone. On the phone he was talking about he will refund some amount and if I can update my review. Now, with such a response and double talk I have to clarify somethings.“One day he called me and explained his engine was making a ticking / rattling noise for a few days in a row. He continued to drive it against my recommendations” –This never happened. He was the last person I called regarding the issue. First thing I did was to go-to dealership and they said there are metal parts in the pan and engine needs to be replaced and the cost would be $6k. I opted not to do it and towed my car back to home. Next I towed my car to the mechanic near my home called CP&T auto. The mechanic there said the same thing dealership said after spending a couple of hours diagnosing the issue. He also offered to get a used engine for $3k. I opted not to do the repair as I didn’t want to spend that much money.Finally, as I knew Keith’s shop I called him and I told him what dealership diagnosed and the other mechanic said but he diagnosed the issue on phone and said this is very usual issue with your car and I see it a lot. The dealership is taking more money for inaccurate diagnosis. I can fix it for $1500. I though wow why I didn’t call him at first place. I can pay this amount and let’s get it done. Got my car towed to his shop. Explained him again and asked him to inspect the oil pan for parts as I was curious why everyone else was pointing to a different issue. He said yes and I will call you once done. He called me after a couple of days and said your car is good. I went to pick up and I asked him are you sure it’s done. He said you can drive it to California without a problem. I paid $2719.06 exact. I drove to my home 4 miles and I got warning lights. I really believed him. Called him from home and took my car the very next day. This day I drove as he said it won’t be a problem. He told me he will do some more fix and asked $659.31 more for it.

Incredible service. Very honest. Had my clutch replaced by Keith. He was very communicative with all of the details. Noticed several other issues while he was doing the job and advised. Completed the job and many other repairs all for less than I might have expected the clutch replacement by itself to cost. Amazing value. He is the dog whisperer of Jetta TDIs. Also completed the work in a very reasonable time frame. Well worth it to go out of your way to come to KMH.

Keith is the only mechanic that I trust to touch my 2000 Golf TDI with 300,000 miles on it. He knows VWs and especially diesels inside out. Hes professional, honest, easy to get along with, and down to earth. If you have a TDI (or probably any other diesel vehicle), give Keith a call.

If you have a VW or an Audi, especially a diesel, this is pretty much the best shop in the region. Keith is honest, competent and fair; something I can’t say about most mechanics. He has maintained my TDIs for many years and is probably why they run so well. Aside from his total competency as a mechanic, Keith is a great person to deal with.

(disclaimer: Keith is my brother-in-law, but I wouldnt write this review if it wasnt true.) Keith is THE guy to go to if you have a VW or Audi that needs any kind of work - routine maintenance, a major overhaul, or some unique upgrades and tuning. He knows his stuff and you will figure that out within a few minutes of talking to him. He is also very accommodating and will treat you with the same respect and consideration regardless of whether you walk in with a newer late model car looking for some upgrades or a 100K+ mile car that needs some TLC on a budget. Hell also work with you if you are looking to build something interesting like an engine-swapped sleeper or other fun franken-car.

Great shop. They know TDIs inside and out. And are experts on all things VW and Audi. I would come here for everything if I could, but its over an hour drive so I save them for the major services since I need to take a day off work to use them. Still worth it!

If youve got a TDI, this is hands down the place to go. Keith is knowledgeable and it is obvious that he takes pride in his work. He has worked on our two 05 TDIs over the last four years, one Jetta and one Passat. His expertise is second to none and on top of it, he beat out two other Boston metro German auto shops on a timing belt/water pump with room to spare.His work is timely, fairly priced and very well informed. Outside of oil changes and basic maintenance items, we make the trip to KMH from two hours away without hesitation.

Ive been having all my services performed at KMH since I bought my Jetta TDI in 2006. Its such a relief knowing that a competent Tech is working on my car, and I dont have to deal with inexperienced dealership mechanics. To top it off, his service is reasonable, and you leave feeling confident about the service.

Ive been looking for a TDI mechanic in New England for a very long time and Ive finally found a good one. I had KMH do a clutch install on my 02 TDI. First, Keith gave me a very competitive quote (well worth the 30 minute drive). Second, he had a loaner vehicle available, which for me was invaluable. Finally, he completed the work extremely quickly. The car was done shortly after lunch which was a very pleasant surprise, compared to the Stealerships I am used to. He also gave me some very useful advice about future upgrades I wanted to do.I am definitely going to him again.

Keith has been my go to mechanic on my VW Cabrios. I met him when I creamed my rim in 2007 through an ad on Craigs list to replace the rim which had a large V due to a pothole filled with water. I was a single Mother and not much of a budget for car repairs. Finding Keith right down the street in N. Chelmsford was an absolute Godsend! Not only is he reasonable, but he takes the time to explain what he is doing in the job and why. Keith has saved me thousands in unnecessary repairs that other mechanics take advantage of when they see a woman walk into a garage. A loose hub-nut was previously diagnosed by another shop as needing a front end....Cabrios tend to have issues with the oil gasket from the oil pan. They give a little poof sound, Then oil gushes out of the car, We now live in Methuen and his shop is now in Lowell, My third Cabrio is in for this, I had the car towed there. Keith can fix it in a hour - because he knows what he is doing - and does it well! Having bought it second hand we are having Keith look it over. Due to it having sat and not used for several years it needs serpentine belt, CV replaced, He is doing a major amount of work over a holiday weekend. Very much appreciated.By The Way - in looking at the reviews, I also checked what his low score was - there is none! Keith is definitely a 5 star mechanic!

I have had my VW TDI exclusively serviced by KMH Motors since 2008. It now has over 236,000 miles on it. Keith, the owner of KMH, is THE most intelligent and careful mechanic I have ever met, and I’m a serious car-guy who’s met a lot of them. I’m also very picky about who works on my cars, but I trust Keith/KMH completely.He really knows VW’s and Audis inside out. On many occasions I have called him up and described the symptoms, and he already knew exactly what the problem was over the phone. That’s what’s great about him being an Audi/VW specialist. He’s seen so many of these cars that he knows all the typical problems, and exactly how to fix them as quickly as possible. He also has many of the typical problem parts on his shelf, so he can get the car fixed quickly.His experience with VW’s and Audis has really paid off for me, as a customer, over the years. Some other mechanics I’ve been to who see ALL makes and models will just throw parts (and my money) at a problem because they don’t know the cars well enough, and don’t take the time to properly diagnose it. Keith, on the other hand, has usually has seen the problems before, but even if he sees a new one, he won’t just start willy-nilly replacing parts. He’ll stop and put the effort into properly diagnosing and researching the repair, so he can fix it right the first time with the right parts. He treats my money like his money.And, on top of it all, he is a really great person. Very friendly, and always willing to take the time to talk with you and explain things. Very professional, and courteous.But don’t take my word for it, here’s a story about KMH from another mechanic! KMH doesn’t have alignment equipment, so I took my car over to George’s Automotive to get my car aligned. When I told George that I get my car serviced by KMH, he said, “Ah, yes. He really knows his stuff. He helped me figure out a problem I was stuck on with a VW I worked on once. Smart guy.” Here was a long-established mechanic giving high praise to Keith at KMH. Compliments from your competitors…you can’t get much better than that.

I brought my 2005 Passat GLS TDI to Keith as it was beginning to suffer from the first stages the Balance Shaft Module chain drive mechanism failure (sounds like marbles in a blender), which is unfortunately not an if failure on these PD engines, but a when will it fail issue, due to a flawed design on the oil pump/balance shaft mechanism design.Keith was familiar with this issue and had previously performed several of these BSM replacements. He was very easy to discuss the issue with and I had brought up several different procedures/modifications that I had read about on various VW/TDI forums: The Gear-driven BSM replacement and the BSM Delete modification. Keith thought the BSM delete modification was the way to go, not only would I be eliminating the balance shaft module and reducing the engines rotational weight by several pounds, but Id be eliminating other parts, and thus reducing what else could go wrong as well as the cost of the repair (by about $1000 in parts alone !)Keith finished the job in several days and took pictures of the job as he performed it!While he was performing the service, he also informed me of other parts that he thought should be replaced while everything was off the front end, as trying to ride them out and doing the repair later would cost me hundreds more if I waited. I appreciated that he checked all the other components that were not involved in the repair. Thats thoroughness.In addition to the BSM delete job, he also went through the rest of the car, changing the transmission filter & fluid, oil change & filter, air filter, fuel filter, performing a timing belt/water pump kit change as well. The combined maintenance saved me alot of money having everything done at one time.The car runs great, gets an additional 5 MPG after the modification, and Keith has been more than willing to answer any questions Ive had since the repair.Although it was a 125 mile drive to bring the car to him, it was well worth the drive. He knows what hes doing and is honest as well---an exceedingly rare combination these days.Thanks Keith!
