The restaurant at the property is amazing. Everything about the hotel is great. The staff is super friendly, the service amazing. The location. It’s one of the oldest properties at the beach. And they have maintained it super well. The pool is the USP it’s the most photographed pool in the US. The rooms as spacious and the service is on point. Their pool parties are also too good

The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, which was very appreciated following a red-eye from the west coast rendering our arrival time to the hotel before sunrise. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and the ongoing housekeeping services throughout the entire day. This hotel is perfect for relaxing by the pool all day and the location is ideal. The only cons include old television sets and sound proof issues. Ear plugs recommended for a solid night sleep.

This a very nice hotel in an awesome location with a secluded pool outside and access to the beach right behind it. Its decor is straight vintage and has that art deco Miami feel to it. Our stay for a few nights was good overall and I wish that there was some sort of breakfast included or that the restaurants/bar options were cheaper.

We recently visited the Raleigh Pool and beach facilities and have to give 2 of the staff a perfect 5 stars each. Amanda and Steve (Pool side) were the most friendly and attentive people that you would ever want to meet in a hotel. Thanks again for your perfect service. It was great meeting you at the pool. The 2 Canadians :)

The outside is a nice place for a drink. This particular afternoon, there was a music festival in Miami, so the pool was closed for party, but it made for good people watching. Typical markup on bottles, all standard. Service was friendly and prompt. Restrooms were in so-so condition. Live music inside which was enjoyable, but didnt sit inside.

This is a vintage Hotel, so expectations are important. The feeling is classic and sophisticated, but not luxurious. Theyve preserved the beautifully designed 1940s interiors, including small dark elevators and small bathrooms with simple but high quality fixtures. Pool deck is spectacular, but the lounge chair cushions were a bit dirty. Staff at front desk and restaurant were awkward, not warm. Internet wifi service was horrible. Overall great place to stay though.

I must say, i dont travel out of my hometown ( Los Angeles) much. Therefore, im very critical when it comes to to doing my due diligence as far as vacationing with my family is concerned. Kimberly and the rest of her staff know the exact meaning of hospitality my family and i had the best time, from arrival all up until departing from their hotel. They are very knowledgeable when it comes to their job and also very aware of the type of people the accommodate. They give you the full experience as a tourist/ visitor and are very much in touch of their surroundings, they can point you to the right direction when it comes to the must go places in town. I extremely encourage people who are looking for a top notch service to go here and experience it for themselves.

Ive never stayed here because I live close enough to Miami that I usually just make a day trip of it. But I love to stop here for a classic mojito and sit at the bar outside by the pool. Its shady and pretty, and makes lovely place to take a break after walking for a while in South Beach.

A perfect 1960s throwback hotel that loses style rather than caricature. Everything about this place makes you think you might see Frank Sinatra around the corner. From getting actual keys to your hotel room, to the decor, to the Beth & body products, and the attentive staff this hotel is great. Its location to the beach in Miami is amazing. However the walls are paper-thin. Let me repeat paper thin. We stayed here with children and we were treated to our neighbors disturbing argument next door as well as all the child inappropriate content they watched on TV. There really wasnt anything we could do to block out the noise from them even though they werent being noisy. It was just as if we were sharing the same room.

The hotel itself was fine. We were there for a live DJ event at the pool. The setup was fine, but I didnt like that there was no water available anywhere except for $7 bottled water. Also they wouldnt let the event patrons go into the hotel itself. All that would have been fine but the kicker was that it started raining and everybody was left huddling under the nearest shelter. A great many people huddled under the giant tent but then there were people huddled under the bar and in some of the shower stalls for the pool. The rain really put a damper on the event no pun intended. This thing asked me to rate it I rated it three stars not really the hotels fault for the rain.

The room is a bit small, admittedly, but it was built before people needed to have laptops open in their rooms, etc. The pool, and EVERY other space, is perfection, though. And if youre spending time in your room besides for sleeping, etc., youre not living right. The location could not be better for shopping and eating and beaching.

Run down room number 215 with the outdoor space (roof of the lobby area) 24/7 exposure to the ventilation system of the next door hotel.. cant be used of the noise. Plus boiler noise from some room next door, you wont be able to sleep at night! Over priced drinks and food unless you’ll be eating and drinking outside the hotel i mean $7 for coffee?? And the online price of $250 per night? is really $400 per night after tax and extra pool, beach, wifi, towels fees that you have to pay… for $2400 weekend you can find better. **On-line pictures are from maybe 10 years ago.

Rooms are dated, small, and not comfortable if you plan on doing any work on a laptop. Bed is OK, nothing special. The bathroom barely allows one to move about. The carpeting is in need of serious washing or completely ripped out and replaced. Otherwise, the property is decent, the lobby is nicely laid out, and staff are very nice. The pool, as many have said, is very nice, but it too is dated, and could use a little love. I think for the price this hotel charges you would get more value at the Shelbourne across the street. Raleigh also doesnt have a gym, and if you plan on needing to shower and change before heading to airport, you will need to be directed to their sister property, the SLS, as Raleigh does not have the facilities for that convenience.

Surely one of the most beautiful pools in the world, an Art Deco treasure, is at this hotel, which is also right on the beach. The lobby is an oasis of cool, with cool jazz wafting through the historic interior. The staff here is nice and attentive and they make a mean Mojito. The bar on the side of the lobby is a hidden gem. If I lived here, Id be a regular. Im glad that Tommy Hillfinger plans on restoring the place (to be sure, its in pretty good shape now), and also worry about his plan to turn it into a private club. I hope it works. (The rooms, as mentioned elsewhere here, are fine but nothing special...you are paying for the privilege of using the terrific public spaces and location!)

We planned our vacation for a very long time. We just got married and wanted to spend a week in South Beach. My mother joined us and after a long research we decided to go with the Raleigh hotel. Of course I saw some bad reviews and some good reviews. But obviously there are as many opinions as there are people. We arrived at the Raleigh to check in. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude! She gave us these old keys (not the keys you see in every hotel, but actual keys) and the first thing she said was that if we lose them we have to pay $75.00 for each. We were also charged $500.00 for each room in case we vandalize something. My husband and I took my mom to her room, it was a decent size room. After that we went to our room which was significantly smaller with a smaller bed. I RESERVED 2 IDENTICAL ROOMS! After that the NIGHTMARE started. I went to the bathroom and found a BLACK HAIR in the towels. I called front desk and they transferred us to a different room (she said it will be pool view). We cam to the room and the pool wasnt seen from the window. I found ANOTHER BLACK HAIR on the couch that itself is all in stains. I wouldnt let a homeless person sleep on it. There was another hair on the pillow. My mom came to our room with GLASS PIECES inside of a towel. She said she found them on the floor. We started looking at the room and were SHOCKED to say the LEAST. There is MOLD on the CEILINGS. The bathtub is sooo SMALL and RUSTY, I would NEVER touch it with my fingers. There IS DUST STICKING TO ALL THE WALLS IN THE ROOM!!! WE FOUND FOOD ON THE FLOOR under the bed!!!! The POOL downstairs is sooooo OLD and disgusting! All the picture online are an absolute lie!!!! PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel. This is definitely NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL. I would BARELY give it 2. RATHER STAY AT A HOSTEL.

Had lunch on December 6, 2013 at the Raleigh. It was memorable because how exquisitely bad it was in every sense of word: the service was worse than atrocious. An example was our order of 12 oyster brought to us without lemon, salt, pepper, tomato sauce and horseradish and ONE SPOON. From then on it was further downhill. The whole thing was crowned by a waiter bringing us a second order of the same thing we had already eaten. In other words enough is not enough at the Raleigh. All this for $140.Stay away
