They know their birds! Also, Penny is the sweetest bird I have ever met.
Well educated helpful people. My son gifted me a peachfaced lovebird from there. Sweetest bird ever!! They adopted my other love bird when its buddy died. Grateful our little bird perked right up being around other birds.
I take my Amazon parrot here ever so often to cut his nails and clip his wings and they always treat us right and take care of the bird. We even buy him food and toys which they have a large variety of. If you are scared of having someone else clip your birds nails and wings then I suggest coming here for toys and food and maybe a baby bird that youd he interested in buying.
Great location & The best customer service.I have purchased 3 parrots there 2 quaker and an Indian ring neck .The best of all is that you get to put a deposit on your favorite bird when is a baby you can pay it while they hand feed it and get him ready for his new home.I live this place the employees are really clean, they are always sanitizing everything and mopping the floor. Specially with the covid-19 they make you use hand sanitizer before entering the birds Nursery.Best place Of all 😀😀
This is a cool location being in Cauley square. The building has a nice historic look from the outside but the inside was a little messy. The birds seem crowded and there was one right by the front door that looked to be in terrible shape, it was missing all its feathers and look like it had been pulling them out itself. I just didnt look like many of the birds were happy to be there caged up. There was a cool selection of birds though.(Edit: Dang, just giving my 2 cents based on my observations. Why you gotta come with that sass? You missed an opportunity to reply to my review in an educational manner to better inform me and others that might read my review. The positive is that your response does a better job of letting people know what kind of store you run than my original review did. And remember people, its not an Aviary (like the name of the store states) its a bird shop. Maybe change the name to The Bird Shop at Cauley Square to avoid the continued confusion?)
This place is the best that is if you want to learn about bird care feeding etc. owning a feathered friend is so rewarding they give back in so many ways. I still miss my squishy. Learn about parrots before you dis a bird shop.
Super friendly, trusting and warm staff! They love what they do and it shows. Highly recommend!
THE Best Aviary in Florida ! We have been to all of them from west coast to east coast, stores and rescue groups ..but the quality of customer Service you have here you dont find anywhere else. Staff is experienced and very patient, awesome team (shout out to Joanne, Patricia and Jenny), food, toys and cages great selection and the birds ... handfed since babies and very well care. We bought a Hahns Macaw and are waiting for our Ringneck. Thank you ! Nathalia & Frank
The ladies there are super friendly and very knowledgeable. Great atmosphere and they have everything that you need for your feathered pets. 😍🐦
Careful not to lose a finger. Lol. The birds are beautiful
The only place I come to buy my supplies. I love the owner. She is so nice friendly and helpful.great place.
Lovely atmosphere in the store, kind customer service. The birds look like theyre treated very well and in hygienic conditions. Would recommend to stop in if youre looking for birds or bird supply, as well as visiting one of the local stores in the pretty area of Cauley Square.
They essentially choked my bird to try and trim her nails. Sinbads treats my birds nicer and get the trimming done without issue. I was also lied to about which services would be provided to me and how. The owner is very rude over the phone. I’d buy my pets somewhere else.
Great place to purchase a bird. I bought a beautiful six week old handfed sun conure and I had him for almost 28 years. He was a wonderful bird
Joanna and Jenni are awesome, my communication started with Joanna she was so knowledgeable and was so personable. She took her time with me over the phone and followed up with texts. We drove the 4.5 hours, because she made me feel extremely comfortable. When we arrived she was so helpful in helping us make the right choice and perfect fit for our family. Once our choice was made and during the process I meet the owner and her daughter Jennie, Jenni was extremely knowledgeable and was so sweet, she took her time and explained different things, she also gave us a session on how to feed out new baby Catalina Macaw. Jenni has offered to help us in anyway she can with the feeding and weaning process.Joanna even texted the next morning to see how our Macaw was doing and find out how she was on the ride home.Thank you Ladies for making us feel comfortable and sharing all your knowledge! Your love for your birds and customers is awesome!
Best place to get your birds beak, nails, and wings manicured! Also, the carry only the best kinds of bird foods. Very helpful staff.
Birds are not taken care of..its not an aviary, its a pet store.I have worked in an aviary before, with over 10,000 birds,So I am familiar with the difference between an aviary and a pet store...something about having animals locked in a cage alone...just not right
I have bought two birds from here and my babies are happy and healthy. The owner and staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Great place to find a future birdie and great food and accessories selection.
Wonderful place with great staff, beautiful birds, and great products
I know its a good place but are the parrots hand fed. And does he sell baby parrots?
I have been visiting the Aviary since about 2007. At that time, it was at a diffetent location slightly further South on US1. I liked that the owner and all of the employees have always been friendly and helpful. I never have felt afraid to take my birds there for grooming or for boarding. There are always many happy return customers at the store. The employees have worked there for years. You very quickly learn that the owner and tbe staff are reliable, knowledgeable, and truly love birds. The place is very well-maintained. The prices sre fair. During business hours, you will always reach an actual person when you call. I highly recomnend this store to anyone who needs bird supplies, information, or a new avian friend. Its a great place to go!
Excellent customer service and all the birds looks one they have good definely coming back again
Great birds, great staff
Been shopping here for several years. They are like famliy.
Prices are ridiculous not everyone is millionaire to buy on that place
This isn’t a ordinary bird pr pet store. Here they actually take good care and show love to their birds! The birds are not only trained but really friendly! Countless minutes of bird attraction, the staff is also very nice. The prices are alright. This is the best bird or pet store I’ve gone too. Please take the time of visit here, even if its just a short trip, you’ll find yourself not wanting to leave!
Really knowledgable and helpful staff. Great experience and worth the drive from Naples. We are so happy with our new bird!
Really love the place but the only problem is that they cut their wings i bought a black masked lovebird there today and I cut my budgies and lovebirds nails and everything is perfect exact they cut the wing s it would be better to not cut them and if a customer doesnt want the bird with the wing then they can ask to clip you know but besides that wonderful place and I would love to go there again and they are very very intelligent and knowledgeable. Thanks!
Very knowledgeable and friendly employees! Great selection of products for your feather babies! This is where I take them for nail clippings and beak filing, too!
My experience was beyond expectations. The staff all of them were extremely patient, knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help pick out my second feathered friend. Losing my first bird was difficult and walking in there they all were very empathetic and really help me pick out my right bird. Thank you for loving what you all do at The Aviary.
Awesome place and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable!
Amazing, knowledgeable and caring staff. We bought our first bird at the Aviary and it was a wonderful experience for my daughter. The staff is super helpful, kind and caring with humans and birds! After two years with our lovely cockatiel, the staff has helped us with everything from nail trimming, beak cleaning and wing clipping.I am even overwhelmed to say they are as kind as to advise with minor injuries and mishaps.I could not be more grateful to Jen and all the ladies at the aviary for their kind hearts and incredible disposition.
Nice persons
Bird owners will find anything they need here, including boarding and grooming. Friendly staff. I recommend it also to anyone thinking of owning birds, you can see chicks and ask about the needs of the breeds you’re thinking of. We had a great experience there.
Nice people. Good prices. Nice birds 👍
I get the best service when i show up!
Always a pleasure to come here happy 2021...
We have been taking our Cockatiel, Mia to this location for two years . They do an amazing job and are always extremely courteous and super knowledgeable . We also by Mia’a food, treats and toys here. We love going there ... keep up the great work and thank you ... we were actually there this morning ....
I had heard so much about Aviary. Decided to go see for myself. I ended up buying a baby Harlequin Macaw on my first visit😊. It was love at first sight. Hes the cutest thing ever! The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions (I had many) You can tell they love their birds. They keep the place clean and odor free..(so important) Their prices are reasonable.I would not hesitate to buy from them again or recommend them to anyone looking to buy a bird, we are in love with our baby.
Rud people, expensive( price vary to up each day), truly bad service.. never mind
This place is very special for those bird lovers. Weve been coming to this place for over 20 years.
I have purchased several parrots from the aviary and everyone of them have been the loves of our lives. My husband and I are retired and we find such joy with the interaction we have with them. I have gotten 2 Caiques, a Red Lord Amazon and now a Maui Macaw. They have trusted me to hand feed them and then they because more bonded. The place is clean and birds are healthy. The employees have been so sweet and helpful. Its the only place I will go and we thank you.
The most horrific pet experience of my life I had with this business! I took my bird to them for boarding in perfect health. When I went to pick her up a week later, the employee that helped me at first told me that she was going to call me because she had noticed for like 2 days now that my bird was sick. When I went to get my bird, she was falling over to the point that she was unable to perch. Another employee who was helping me with the checkout, told me to hurry up and run to a vet that she recommended me to and wished me luck. I rushed over to the vet and, unfortunately, she died when I got there. The following day, I called Patricia Lyon, the owner, and she basically called me a liar. She said that there was no reason for her employee to tell me that she had noticed that my bird was sick for about 2 days because that employee did not work in that area. She even put the employee on the phone who, FLAT OUT, told me that she did not say that to me, at which point, I told her to put the owner back on the phone because I was, absolutely, NOT going to waste my time with someone who is flat out lying to me. I am assuming that the reason why this employee was, obviously, lying was for fear of losing her job, of course. The owner really did not care WHAT the employee told me, she was just chose to not be on my side, since she is smart enough to know that doing so would spell trouble for her.The only thing that Patricia offered me for my HUGE loss was a bird priced at 1/2 off, which meant, absolutely, no loss to her business and, hopefully, shut me up. That felt like a slap in the face to me. Besides, another bird would not have made up for 20 years of having my loving pet. The best business decision she could have made at the time, given this delicate situation, was to offer me a bird for FREE, which would have meant pennies for her, IF that. I would not have sold myself so cheaply, therefore, I would not have accepted her offer, but she did not know that.Patricia showed no remorse for my very painful experience at all. All she worried about was defending her employee (actually, her business) and that was it. My being a loyal customer of that business from way back during the previous owners time, made no difference to her at all.In conclusion, I cannot, with certainty, say that this business caused whatever killed my pet. They could have, however, avoided it. Their responsibility, as the business that I hired to care for my pet while I was away, was to contact me as soon as they noticed my bird was sick which was, according to their own employee, two days PRIOR to my picking her up. Why that employee did not take it upon herself to call me, I will never know. Had SHE, or ANYONE in that business, called me, I would have done whatever needed to be done for her to have received IMMEDIATE care at that very moment to save her life. Had I left my pet alone at my home for that week, her chances of survival would have been much, much greater than the chances she had at this boarding place, thanks to their lack of caregiving.Needless to say, I have not stepped foot in that business again and never plan to either. They do not deserve my business and, frankly, I do not think that they deserve to be open FOR business. Anyone that I come across that I know owns a bird, I always ask them where they go for bird supplies and boarding and I make sure to warn them about my devastating experience with this business. I, CERTAINLY, do NOT want anyone else going through the same ordeal that I did.
My friend took her bird to this place to get her nails clipped. She came back to her bird DEAD. That is NOT normal. The lady who was cutting Casper’s nails held her by the throat not the jaw. They didn’t call my friend or a vet. Just waited for her to come back to pick up her LIFELESS bird. A few hours later they came back just to know exactly what happened. The OWNER of the shop is a racist white lady who smacked my friend, pushed her and her mom, was yelling at them, and told them to speak English even though they SPEAK PROPER ENGLISH. Do not go here. They are terrible and horrible people. They do t even deserve ONE star.
The staff here truly love and take care of not only their feathered friends but the customers who go there. Knowledgeable, friendly and efficient are what I choose to best describe The Aviary! 2 thumbs up! Or should I say wings?!
Nice place for your daily bird needs
Bought an over priced cage for my parrot, you can get the cage online for less. Wish I wouldn’t have waited last minute to buy a cage. Shop workers or owners whatever they are had a real hard time being helpful. Best part is that my card got all kinds of fraudulent charges after shopping there. This review was written as an honest consumer warning for all buyers!
Wonderful parrot-oriented pet store. The store itself is huge, with a wide selection of toys, cages, and birds. It is one of the cleanest bird stores I have been in, with staff constantly disinfecting surfaces. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. If they dont have a product in stock, they will direct you on how to find it. If you have a parrot (or want one), you will not be disappointed with this store.
Awesome as usual.
I got a cockatiel from here and I can tell that they take really good care of there birds here and these prices are awesome. The birds are healthy and loving.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, highly recommend this place!
An Amazing place they cut my bords nails excellently and paitiently
The best got my cockatiel from there like 3 weeks ago love it
This place is amazing. I bought a beautiful sweet Indian Ringneck from here today and he’s perfect. The shop is very clean, spacious, and they have a huge assortment of toys, food, cages, etc. just about anything you can need for your bird you will find here. Their Prices for the birds and everything else is fair and from all the other Floridian bird shops I’ve been too, this place has the best deals. They have many birds throughout the shop that are friendly and talk to you. These birds all have wonderful cage setups and plenty of activities to keep them happy. The woman who helped me was very kind and knowledgeable about the bird she cared for, I believe she was head of the nursery. She showed me the diet they had Bruce on ( my new Grey Indian Ringneck) and wrote down which days to give pellets and vegetables and which days to give seed mix and fruit. They hand raise all their babies and build relationships with them and if you buy a bird from them they give you a informative brochure specifying what foods are good and what isn’t as well as tips for a new bird owner. you also get free nail, beak, and wing clippings for as-long as you have the bird. The service doesn’t end when you leave the door, you can call them during regular business hours with any questions you might have about your new feathered friend. All in all this place is amazing and they truly care about the birds they care for. I definitely will be back!
Good for everything birds.
Very clean and pleasant place from the moment you walk in the staff makes you feel welcomed. They were very helpful and are very knowledgeable as well.Im very happy with my Severe Macaw. Definitely the place to go, you wont regret it..
Best place to buy anybirds.
Very good excellent customer Service i love this place they have what your bird needs.
This place mostly sell parrots.
I have several birds from the aviary. Love them.
Visited Cauley Square yesterday and decided to walk into this pet shop. I saw big beautiful birds locked in small cages everywhere. They were clipping a Macaws wings right in the middle of the store. The poor bird tried to get away and complained loudly the whole time I was there. This is a very traumatic experience for them. I would not visit again. I left this store feeling very sad.
The birds are well kept I went in to browse Im looking to buy an African Grey will be going back this week for sure
This place is awesome! The building is clean and the birds are healthy. Highly recommended. The owner, Patricia, is very caring and knows a lot about birds. I highly recommend them.
This is a fun place to visit even if you dont have a bird. I feel like it would be a great place to get info and supplies for a beginner.
I have bought several birds here throughout the years and Ive never been disappointed. The staff is very knowledgeable and have great up keep with all their birds. You might pay a little more than other places but its worth it since they have very healthy birds and will educate you if you need help with any of the type of birds youre buying. I sometimes make the trip just to see what birds they have just for fun since theyre all so pretty! Definitely a wonderful bird place!
Lots of birds that need a good home! They sell diamond doves, finches, canaries, and a huge variety of parrots! Theyll also supply you with seeds, toys, cages, ect. And theyll clip your birds feathers, and file their beaks/claws when nessecary(as so their beaks and nails dont become over grown).
Awesome unique place to visit kids love seeing the beautiful birds say hello to you you would want to buy one too area has art, restaurants, spas very nice place to enjoy.
Very nice clean shop full of knowledgeable staff and beautiful birds.
Love this place. Theyre very friendly and knowledgeable. A+
Beautiful Pampered Birds.. Great aviary excellent service and prices.
Im giving Casper 5 stars he was the coolest ever.... Lol
We love this place. Reasonably priced and great service. Both of out cocktiels were born and hand raised from here and they both have pleasant attitudes and are good with the kids.
Pretty good price for the nails and the wings for my bird, very profesional, you can ask any question they’ll know the answer
Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Birds are happy and healthy.
Lovely Aviary, a great selection of birds. Some are quite expen$ive. This isnt an inexpen$ive hobby, but they are beautiful creatures. Bird food, toys, cages, & everything else you may need to get for your birds.
My family is fairly new to being bird owners but weve grown accustomed to having them around that now we own over 10 cockatiels, a blue fronted amazon and before today, a cockatoo.Casper, our cockatoo, passed away here while being clipped. Regardless of malpractice or of natural occurrences, the people that run this aviary should not even own pets at all. The old blonde lady that held and clipped Casper didnt even tell us what was happening until it was too late. Imagine this, a pet shop who had a pet collapse in their premises be totally insensitive to not even have the mindset to tell their customers where the nearest vet clinic is. My sister and i had to resort to our own when we decided to try to get her revived through the vets and then be heartbroken when we learned it was too late.Later that day, my mother, who also wholeheartedly loved that bird as much as anyone in our family, wanted to really know what happen. As a way to have closure, we went back here to talk to the owner/manager. Instead of coming off with empathy and professionalism, the old hag of an owner raised her voice over my mothers and escalated the situation. She slapped my sisters phone when she pulled it out and then pushed her and my mother. That is battery! While we were being driven out by being pushed and shoved, the owner even went out of her way to tell my mother who speaks proper English to speak English and that were illegal immigrants since were Asian. Thats racial profiling! They even called the police to have them believe in our story more than the owners. How pathetic.Dont go here if you love your birds. The whole place is ran by a racist, violent, old hag and i truly feel bad for the employees and the birds themselves. Lets see if the necropsy looks good and lets see if theyll win in a legal court.
One of the best places for all your bird needs. Staff really know and love birds!
Got our first bird a lovebird- the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, they dont over sell you and the birds are very healthy. We just purchased a beautiful Blue Quacker as well.
Have been going there for several years now staff is friendly and knowledgeable
Prices are pretty fair but the staff is very knowledgeable and they did a great job grooming my macaw. Place is clean and the birds they have there seem to be well taken care of.
I brought my bird here to get her nails clipped and l left the store with my bird lifeless. I’ve taken her to Simbads and never here. Although hindsight is 20/20, it is a big regret that I brought Casper to this store because not only that I lost my pet bird but I lost my companion, my buddy. They said that the stress from holding the bird with a towel caused Casper to have a heart attack. That this happens all the time. Though, what did they do differently that took her life away when I’ve been going to Simbads in Gables, and leaving the store with the bird still alive? My point is, Casper has been going to Simbads for clippings, ever since we got her. We got her a year and 8 months ago. She’s basically still a baby. Still learning words. And to be told that it’s normal to have your bird get a routine “hair cut” and be dead after. Wow...What’s worse? They said Casper just passed out when the old lady with short blond hair was holding her neck sideways with Casper’s body facing the other way. She said she “passed out the bad way” I was looking at my brother confused and when we looked at Casper she was lifeless. They barely even tried to revive her. They were firm that she’s gone. Didn’t give us a place to bring her to an AV vet. NOTHING.So then, my brother and I took Casper and went to a nearest animal clinic. The nearest one was 2 miles away, I performed CPR on Casper while my brother hurries to go to the clinic just to find out that they only neuters. We asked them where to go when we got there and they gave us the address there. Unfortunately, we were too late. When we went back to this store to get some closure on what happened to my bird they screamed over us, telling us that it’s absolutely normal to have your bird die because of a routine “hair cut” the owner Patricia Lyon yells over my mom and when I knew it was getting out of hand I pulled out my phone and that’s when she started to lay her hands on us. Pushing us,slapping and grabbing my phone. I almost dropped my bird on the floor because of this 6 foot tall OWNER was busy assaulting me and my mom. Eventually when we starting telling her to stop assaulting us and it’s not right, she pushes us out to the door telling my mom who speaks proper English to “speak English” and that we are here “illegally”.If you guys love your precious pet birds, please bring them else where. I’d hate to have another person who loves and care about their bird be hurt and feel the loss we are feeling right now.
Very nice . Its a hidden jem
Very knowledgeable staff. They have everything you could need for your pet birds.
Best bird store I’ve been in. The birds are friendly and happy. Same for the owners. Lower than average prices too.
