I cant even begin to describe how amazing this comic book store is! This store is the real deal. It has every single comic book you can think of available, and the employees there go above and beyond to help you look for whatever it is you want/need. The employees are extremely friendly, and incredibly knowledgable! You can honestly spend hours talking to them, and learning all about comic book history, superhero history, movies, etc etc etc. Walking into this store took me back to my childhood, and I was instantly filled with nostalgia. I cant wait to go back.
The Legendary A&M. A local institution and rightly so. For my money there is no better, pure comic book shop in town. It is that classic comic book shop with the most extensive back issue selection in town, all the current books, and a wide and unique variety of other things, including art books, figures and even pop culture antiquities old and new. I have built up many of the missing parts of my collection here over the years. And no one knows the subject matter better than Jorge. He is a true expert in the field. Be forewarned of his sharp wit (the guy is hilarious), but it always comes from a good place. The place has charm, hidden treasures and countless South Florida comics fans have unending memories of the great A&M.
What a community gem!! AMAZING selection of comic books and Jorge was a wealth of information, this IS his passion! You cant beat small business customer service. We need to continue to support local businesses like A&M for future generations to enjoy the wonder of the comic book industry.
This store is awesome and a back issue heaven! There were so many books, toys and collectibles. Being the oldest comic shop in Florida is even cooler. I came from Tampa visiting and wanted to see some comic stores in the area. I found a jackpot and there were so many comics I didnt look through making me wish I could go back asap. Amazing place, highly recommend checking out.
This is comic book store is amazing and staff are wonderful. My older had been coming to this store since the late 80s and mid 90s nothing but fond memories and great experience. This store is truly a wonderful treasure for all those who enjoy comic books.
Awesome shop! they have pretty much anything you could think of. the owner is also very nice!
Went there with my mom last week and we picked up some comics she’s been wanting to find for a while! Better than any other book stores in the area and the owner is extremely nice and helpful! Please come by
First of all the shop is amazing and one of a kind, super vast collection that you can get lost in and find all kinds of issues and figures you didn’t even know you were looking for. On top of that the owner is a super nice guy with TONS of cool knowledge
By far the best comic book store for collectibles and statues I’ve seen! They have so many collectibles in their store it’s almost mind-numbing. Arguably overpriced, but still it’s a sight to behold nonetheless. As far as comics, they have them in spades! The only reason I have to give this place a 4/5 instead of 5/5 is due to the space. I’m sure they have many comic books and collectibles that I’d buy in an instant, but just can’t see them. Overall, great little comic book store and I plan to be a regular.
I went to the comic book store earlier today and I really really liked it the guy who was working there was very very friendly and I found exactly what I was looking for and he showed me exactly where to find it overall it was a very very good trip and Im definitely going to come again.
My favorite kind of comic book store is where you have to dig because you know so many treasures wait to be discovered. At A & M you can find the basics you are looking for, but if you let yourself wander and explore, you can unearth something you never knew would be your next favorite. Jorge is a wonderful guide and has stories upon stories to share. He cares about writing and imagination as much as he cares about brightening someones day that might need a turnaround. Love this place! Cheers for your friendly neighborhood store and thank you for turning my day around, Jorge! - Liza
This is a great store! The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He is so helpful! I was overwhelmed going in and trying to figure out what to pick up for my son but the owner was super helpful and picked some great comics that my son is hooked on. My 11 year old son loves the subscription service, so he knows his favorite comics are set aside for him. Great place!
Great shop + owner!! George did a great job helping me find stuff around the store. Very knowledgable and friendly.Hidden gems and great finds everywhere. If you love comic books (especially back issues) you owe it to yourself to go here. Still had a great mix of old and new, plenty of stuff for all kinds of interests.Thank you for the great time, hope to be back again!! Wishing you much success from Wisconsin! 👌
My first time going and I was impressed how much this comic book had to showcase. The owner, Jorge, was amazing and very knowledgeable on pretty much everything. Thank you.
Went to store with my son to check out some Marvel comics and the owner had a good collection to choose from and was very helpful.
Amazing collection of comics and other items, they have everything there! The owner is super nice and answered all the questions that we had. We will be back soon!
Nice store, good attention and an e huge variety of products. Just to cover every geeks desires... more or less.
Best comic book shop in Miami hands down. I love this place.
Love the place, I have been collecting comics for a long time. A & M was the first comic store I went to back in 1983. The service is the best and the comic variety unique: silver spanish comics, manga and current are my favorites.
Amazing comic store! Jorge is very helpful and they really do try to help you find whatever it is you are looking for. Will definitely return!
The staff is AMAZING and no matter how many questions you ask, they will still help you and find exactly what youre looking for.
I love this comic book store its amazing one of the best in Miami!!
Always a great experience when I come in! Very knowledgeable about comics that span decades! Huge selection of older collections and even new comics and the owner is so nice, I love coming here to find comics to fill out my current collections and begin new ones. 😍
Love coming here, everybody that works here is always friendly and the selection is great - They’re always willing to take questions and help you find a new storyline that fits your interests and it’s great, and great prices too. Thank you again!
A hidden gem that is more historic than all other hidden gems in the city! Just off the corner of Bird Road and 67th avenue this shop is the epitome of local comics and collectibles as well as the oldest shop in Miami. Jorge is the owner and a friendly guy with a large following and a nice store. I like to come in here and ask a million questions on the unique collectibles stashed throughout the store. The place itself is full of comics and collectibles literally packed in like time-capsules full of cool retro goodness. I am a collector of 90s toys like Spawn and X-Men and he has a plethora of them hanging on the ceiling waiting to be picked. I will say things can be a little hard to find sometimes due to the packed nature of the place but that is the unique beauty of a place like Miamis oldest comic store. Additionally digging through here you will most likely find some unique collectibles and novelties youve probably never seen before. Jorge is more than happy to help if you see something that you like. So if you like nostalgic collectibles, retro gold, and digging for comics this is definitely a top spot for you.
Very friendly. Lots of nice backissues.
Great store and Im impressed with how he looks out for my interests. Love to come here and shop with my family. Im a big Spiderman fan and he helps me find what interests me and my kids. Thank you for your assistance. I love coming here and looking for items to collect. The owner is more about helping the customer and the fans of the items in his store. I feel grateful and appreciated when I walk into this store and Im able to take my time to look for what catches my attention and if Im interested in something Im looking for, him and his team help with looking for it or will help find a way to retrieve it. I read a comment on here making it about making money but thats everyones goal with where they work or what business they have. This store makes it their responsibility to provide us, the customer, with attention and acknowledgement. Yes he has a business to run but more importantly, he knows he has customers that appreciate how long this shop has been there and appreciate his intention to provide us with satisfaction and a positive impression of who and his team are because of the customers that take our time to go and search for the items he has available. What wins me over isnt the price of the items, whether how high or how low, its the heart and understanding he and his team hold for their customers and inventory he has and makes available for us, the fans and customers, to buy and take home and add to our collection. Thank you A&M Comics & Books. It has been and will continue to be an honor to buy from you and continue buying from your shop and to have you and your team available to help. Yes, you have a business to run as a business owner and we have to do our part to help you stay in business cause you find a way to satisfy us and follow through for and with us. Thank you for your service and business
Great place, amazing stuff..small and hard to move around but if your willing to spend a few hours digging great finds there for sure.
Overwhelming when you walk in, but with the help of Jorge, you’ll soon find yourself in a haven of nostalgia. Incredibly reasonable prices and carrying issues and memorabilia you’d struggle finding elsewhere. The only downside is now I know I’m gonna be making some monthly trips to this fantastic emporium.
Went in with some spare time found some Gems and great convo with George 10/10 will be coming back
Coming to A&M Comics was like a breath of fresh air compared to the local comic scene. George helped us to find exactly what we were looking for and turned us into customers for life. Be back soon! 👍
Small space but a HUGE selection of comics! And comic related merch! Picked up the full DCeased series and some Lady Death comics! Going to head there once a week to see what else I can find! 🧐
They have a lot of cool stuff...but a lot of it seems overpriced.Everyone knows about the terrible clutter in this place. Some people like it, some people absolutely hate it. As for me, I can’t imagine why any business owner would want to present any product in this unsightly manner. The customer service is absolutely terrible. I don’t know what it takes for one of those people working there to say hello when you walk in.I’ve been twice so far cause I actually enjoy digging through their stock, but the first time I went, one of the people working there was yelling over the phone about how they’re losing money. Then, after that, he just sat down on a chair and started watching a show on a tv he placed on a pile of books that was on top of the comic bins. Very awkward. The second time I went, the man wasn’t there but I still felt awkward in the store. You have to be mindful of how much you’re deciding to pay for whatever book you buy because they’ll mark up prices just because it’s a popular character but completely disregard the quality and condition of the book. Nevertheless, they still have a lot of cool things you can find in the midst of the madness. They also have some cool stuff from Japan. I like going there to buy gundam. They have a cool little selection. Beats having to drive all the way to Tate’s.
Nice service kind people and fun to shop at for comics
Reminds me of a comic book store from my adolescence. Fast, friendly, attentuve service!
THE place for true DIE-HARD comic book fans.In a world full of greedy, money grubbing business practices, this place is a beacon of light.I sincerely never plan to buy online again.Over 30 years in business and knows the culture inside and out.And the prices are very fair and competitive with those online.Made a lifelong customer here.
The owner always helps me find The comics I want without me looking for it aimlessly. Its always a cool experience. I’m 39 and my first time here I was 13. A lot of history and the owner Jorge is very knowledgeable on comic history. My only advice is, when you come in, know exactly what your looking for and the owner will help you find it fast. Don’t be shy or have an ego and you will have a unique experience!
A lot to take in! If a comic company has ever made something A&M probably has it. Huge selection of everything but you have to put on your Indiana Jones hat to find it. The owner is a super nice guy. If you’re looking to flush out your collection check this place out! Only complaint is the parking but still worth finding parking to visit A&M!
Amazing cómic book store, as soon as you enter you might get a bit lost in all of the comics available, but the attention and service of the owner makes everything perfect. I’ll be coming back
Very friendly and helpful definitely recommend.
Good knowledge of comics...friendly...
Love this place personally. A HUGE selection of comics, TPBs, and toys. Owners a cool guy too, very helpful and will help you find whatever you need.
First time here and was blown away by the all the crazy collectibles. From comics books toys statues and allot more. But honestly was very unorganized and clutter you have to sort through. was unable to look at half of the stuff for sale. But Store owner was friendly and very helpful and knew his stuff prices are fair .will definitely come again and buy again I just wish they got a bigger location or organized it more for us the paying customer. All in all I highly recommend for any collector
This place is still there 30 years later!
Jorge was very knowledgeable about his craft and the busy. I am a child of the 80s and felt welcomed at his store, it has the old school feel. I would recommend to all. I called ahead for my order and it was ready as soon as I got there.
I have a wonderful experience a lot of back issues, memorabilia, and new books to read and add into your collection. Owner is very nice and is willing to help find the comic you are looking for. Owner is fun to chat.
George/Jorge, the owner is a gregarious man with a wealth of information about comics, graphic novels, toys, games and generally any pop-related fascination from the 70- today. The store is packed and I do mean PACKED from the floor to the ceiling with merchandise that you probably didnt know existed. His stories about comic book icons are the juicy tidbits you used to read in the gossip section of your weekly newspaper.Tens of thousands of items available in his store or his warehouse. The only drawback is parking... and, oh... seeing things youd like but knowing you cant buy it all!
Awesome experience.... Got my Star Wars Showcase Collection started... Just need 3-PO and Chewie
A great inventory of comics.
A & M is everything a comic store should be. George is knowledgeable and helpful. Its no coincidence it has been around for so long. Comics, books, toys, collectibles... whatever youre looking for there is a good chance you will find it there at A & M.
George working the store had omniscient knowledge of any obscure comic question you can think of.
Watch out high school students: the owner is gonna come after you all soon for some unpaid labor... it’s like an internship except it’s completely useless now AND in the future!Addendum: Just take a gander at the way this guy responds to this review and other negative reviews, and then ask yourself... is this a good dude? Should I support this establishment? Hmm...
Super cool place and an absolute staple for comics here in miami! I live the atmosphere and “clutter” feel! My only gripe is that I bought several comics and was charged a dollar over the cover price for each one. These were by no means “vintage” comics, key issues, or anything of the sort. I understand that times are tough but at the same time you don’t want to be nickel and dimed. I overheard the owner making a deal with another customer so maybe it’s not my fault that I got finessed, but I just don’t feel like I need to ask for cover price for very common and recent/not limited edition books.
Every year this comic store gets better and bigger inventory . It doesnt matter the company or storyline George will have it. Best comic store in Miami!
Super nice staff.... Welcoming, helpful, and certainly knowledgeable! Look forward to coming back.
100% would go again, i loved the selection of figures they have, super good attendance and really love the help, really good sh monsterarts selection and neca, dragonball, DC, Marcel etc. Would shop again 100%!!! (I bought the godzilla 2019 figure btw)
Man this is one sad comic shop. Everything is dirty, the books weren’t boarded. I found a Batman 200 that was in really poor shape, maybe 1.0, and the guy was asking $100 for it!!! You can’t even really look at anything thing because it was so cluttered and dirty. Just really sad and disappointing.
This is the last original REALcomic book store in South Florida.
Great place for comic books and collectibles. Owner is friendly and knowledgeable
Awesome classic comic and hobby shop. This place had been around decades and had the old shop look and feel to it. They carry comics and collectible figures and toys from the past as well as the new stuff. You wont find another shop like it in all of Miami.
The best Comic Book store in Miami. Very historical. Great store owner who works tirelessly every day to run a great business. Definitely recommend this store to all comic book buyers and collectors. Prices are fair and reasonable on all things ranging from books to figurines and even vinyl. This place is great!!!!
George is a delight to talk with. The store is the oldest in Florida and is chockablock full of comics and collectables. Its like finding an attic full of old and new all things comic related.
Used to really love this place but its a mess. If you dig youll find interesting things you wont find anywhere else but emphasis on digging and keep in mind you may find the occasional soy sauce packet or McDonalds bag. I feel prices have gotten higher as well.
A bit small inside but a gold mine of sorts. George the owner, cool guy is an Icon on comics. He has endless history about the industry.
Best place in Miami for your Nostalgia and action figures.
This store has been around for a long time and it shows. Comics are very hard to find, I was looking for an issue of Dr. Strange that was about 4 months old and I had to move long boxes around just to get to it. They also up charge there comics. I had to pay 8 bucks for that comic. Double the price. Its very cluttered and always has a strong smell of incense. Gives me a headache. The store employees always seem annoyed when I ask for help maneuvering my way through there labyrinth of cardboard and paper. Go to Macs Comics instead. All theyre comics are always original price, its clean, organized and employees are friendlier. I live much closer to A&M. Its about a 5 minute drive. But I do all my comic book shopping at macs even though its a 20 minutes drive. Its worth it for the cleaner, less stressful experience.
While they dont have the sales that the other stores have(that I know of), they have the latest collection of order books Ive seen besides Past, Present Comics up North. If your not afraid to get down and dirty you can find some gems you probably werent excepting to find still available down here in Miami. Also cool to know this is the oldest comic store in the country.
When I walked into the store, I was taken back by the amount of items in the store. They literally have everything from toys and statues to comic books from every era. Spent over an hour in the store and purchased a couple of books and a few action figures. Will definitely be going back on a regular basis as the owner was telling me they are constantly buying new collections and adding inventory in the store from their warehouse. Great place!
Love coming to this place been coming here since I was kid with my dad
Awesome place and owner..
This is truly where the end of the rainbow resides and on both sides of the rainbow. A&M comics is the best place for all your comic book needs. Their attention to Identity is by far whats makes this in my opinion the best independent store in All of Miami. When you walk in dont be opinionated about what you see or your first impression. There is personality at every corner. I hope this store will continue as long as there is a BIRD and 67TH AVE in Miami fl. Till then everyone. Be.
Literally the NEIGHBORHOOD COMIC SHOP. Ive been going here since I was 7 and Im now 30. Great selection of new and old comics. Great prices, and friendly service. Xavier has superior knowledge about the DC/Marvel/Independent comics and is great at helping you find anything amongst the endless rows of comics.
The place is literally packed floor to celling with books. The prices on some items were high and it is difficult to move and get around because of the amount of stuff in the place. Owner let me now from the get go there were no bargains to be had. So if you are looking for something and willing to pay there is a good chance they have it
Great comic book store! I always get top notch customer service from the staff, and they always help me find what i need. They take their time to order merchandise that they dont have just to please their customers. I always come here for my books and figures! Keep up the great work! 👍🏼
Amazing comic store with tons of vintage toys, comics and other collectibles. Highly recommend.
Years may go by that I dont go there but when I do I remember how much fun it is!!I always go to buy a gift for someone since I am not really an avid comic person but each time I walk out full of knowledge and feeling like I just left a museum. One gentleman helped me pick the perfect gift the other one taught me all about a wonderful series of books which hopefully I can go back and buy. They were so pleasant and patient. Its so cool to see a business hang around for such a long time and keep the customer service and inventory up to date.Thank you for sticking around you always come through 👍
A&M is a HEAVEN for silver age/Bronze Age Comics. I found so many key issues, its not even funny!!! I even found some golden age but they were a little bit out of my price range. From my knowledge, this is the oldest comic book store in Florida, so its definitely a landmark for someone like me to check out. I could spend hours searching. Ive even heard theres an action comics #1 being kept secret by the owner. I definitely recommend A&M comics to everyone.
A nice little place if you think clutter gives a cozy vibe. There is truly no end to the amount of books packed in here considering the size, and I definitely lost a few hours, having a good time looking through and feeling unhurried. Very chill. The pricing isnt too bad and it feels good to support such an old/historied shop with such a strong identity. The mural on the building is also a Pokemon Go Gym, so that was neat if youre into it.Ill be honest, the customer service is either hit or BIG MISS depending on the guy youre talking to but its not like I expect prime social skills from other nerds. Worth it overall, I pop in every couple months.
Best comic book shop in South Florida. HUGE selection, helpful staff.
Love it. Wonderful place with character. Owner is very friendly and offered excellent guidance.
Lots of joy
I visited a couple of months back and I was disappointed. The shop clearly has a wide variety of items, but you cant even have a clear look at anything because its all cluttered together. The customer service was also quite bad. I wasnt greeted when I came in and I wasnt attended. One of they guys just sat there watching a video.
Historic shop but honestly wondering how its still open. All back issues are well organized for the most part. But to get to most of the boxes youd have to move a ton of stuff around. If youre looking for figures or toys they have a lot but the way theyre displayed makes it difficult to peruse. They have cool vintage comics and magazine towards the back but last time I went to check out a box they said I couldnt be back there although there was nothing that said or marked it off limits. If they had more space and organization it would be a great store, for now i only go there because its the closest to my house.
All the comics you could ever want are found here. The owner is as friendly and approachable as they come.
The place is small, hot, and dark. The place is extremely unorganized. They have a large selection but it is uncomfortable to walk through and dig through the piles of books just to get to what youre looking for. And it does not help that the staff seems annoyed when you ask them to find something for you. They need to be more organized and a little more friendly.
The employees are knowledable. There are honestly to many books. But at least I usually am able to find what Im looking for regardless of how old the book is
Support your neighborhood comic shop! The place has tons of character and a wide variety of back issue comics. A & M has the old distinct book smell that should be bottled and sold. What it lacks in hosipitalty and organization it makes up for in unique comic book finds and knowledgeable staff. Please go and stop in!
I have always found any and all of the very obscure and hard-to-find comic books/graphic novels at A&M comics. The staff (specifically xavier and the gentleman who owns the shop) know exactly WHAT they have and WHERE they have it. There is a HUGE selection, and there is something very appealing and nostalgic about the stores set up/look. It looks and feels like a comic book shop SHOULD look and feel. :) Overall, it is an excellent shop and I will always go to A&M for anything I need and more.
Took my son to get his fourth comic book. Great customer service and very knowledgeable. Not only do they have comics they have music and old school action figures.. etc.popeyes, vulture, vultron and many many more. Small place but huge memory lane..go see for yourself.... TRUE STORY....
I love this place. I buy almost all my comics from here and the staff is super helpful. I also love the atmosuatmo of the place
Walk in and you are in a flashback to your childhood and a comic book lovers heaven. Comics and action figures everywhere you could spend a day here and still not see everything. Walk in and be ...like a kid in Willy wonka s chocolate factory except its comics and action figures.
This comic book shop is the place I go before I enter work and after I leave work. It has everything I dreamed of having as a kid. Action figures, comics, books, collectibles, antiques and etc. its small but just right! Coming from a regular costumer, this is the comic book store I prefer than any other around the area! A&M COMICS!!!
One of the last comic book stores alive here in south miami. I love the character of this shop and recommend rummaging through their stock!
We went out of our way to drive to A&M comics. The store definitely has loads of books stacked high. I was shown the boxes to find what I was looking for, in the 2$ boxes . After one hours of going through boxes, I had a handful which interested me. When I got to the cash, the owner did not honor the 2$ anymore. He told me he would have to check on eBay to get the value. Extremely disappointing and dishonest ! This will be one comic store I will never go back to!!!
The selection is amazing!so many collectors items and comics. would have given a five star if the staff was friendlier. not a pleasant experience. also i understand its an old store but damn is it messy.
Xavier always has my comics ready as soon as he sees me and is always very friendly and helpful. The subscription program is great so I dont miss an issue of my favorite comics. The building/plaza doesnt have a lot of parking up front but there is parking available in the back.
Great service. The employees there really know their comics. Talk to them! Theyll help you find what youre looking for. I walked out with some additional comics based on what I was already reading. Will definitely be going back!
A Miami institution. This shop has been around for ages (and it shows --I dont think theyve ever attempted to remodel or enhance). It is a big ol mess, which makes it difficult to find titles, but it also makes it an enjoyable experience of unexpected discovery. You could spend hours browsing at this place.
This place should be protected and declared a land mark in Miami.
