Delicious, but extremely unorganized. Also you can pay with your card now, but there is a 4% fee to do so.As a newcomer, trying to navigate what Im supposed to do was very frustrating and I almost just walked out.Heres what you do:1. Go to the farthest counter where people look like theyre too busy to be taking orders. A person will take your order.2. Walk over to the counter in the front. Tell that person what your order is again. Hopefully you have good memory. Pay for your food.3. Grab your coffee if you bought one and sit down in the back if there is a table. (You made sure there was an open table, right?)4. Wait. Your food will be out in 10-15 minutes.Why isnt there a system in place? Shouldnt there be a ticket thats handed to the person at the register? I dont know. Signs, explanations, literally anything would be welcome.Was it worth the insanity? Yes.The bacon was crisp, the home fries were crunchy (yet under seasoned), and the waffle was chewy and a bit eggy; personally thats how I like them.My partner would not stop raving about the donut they got. It was a really good donut.The only thing that disappointed was the pancake. I got blueberry and it was mealy, dense, and unflavorful. I got halfway through before giving up.4 stars might be generous, but I dont care. The confusion was made up for in tasty food. Now that I know how to order, I will most certainly come again.

Middlebury Bagel is wonderful. Not much more to say. Great sandwiches. Great bagels. Great great staff! (Megan I’m lookin at you!). But really, you won’t be disappointed with your visit. Just go already.

Biggest omlette breakfast ever. But it was really good also. The hash browns were good. The bagels were good. The veggie omlette was the best one I ever had to be honest. Great all around.

Unfortunately, I’ve only been able to make it over here once, but my God is this place good. The bagel may have been the best bagel I’ve ever had in my life. I’m from the Midwest and our bagels are usually more chewy than anything else. The bagels here had a crunch to them, which I absolutely loved, and the cream cheese spread was soo good. I may have gotten the boring old “plain bagel with cream cheese”, but if that was that good, I can only imagine what everything else tastes like. I am counting the days until I can come again. I highly recommend this place.

I was a bit underwhelmed. Nice people, fast service and a good product but the portions are ridiculously large. If you like a giant bagel loaded with cream cheese that gives you a 1000 calories then go for it. I personally like a bagel I can finish in one sitting. A partially eaten left over bagel with cream cheese isnt really that appealing.

Middlebury Bagel is great - really nice staff, but also, I got an everything bagel with cream cheese and lox and it was perfect. Delicious, supremely fresh bagel and the lox was some of the best lox I’ve ever had - and I live in NYC, home of bagels and lox, above the best lox store in NYC. Really such a great experience.

If youre like me you can appreciate a good bagel from time to time. This isnt your usual Hannaford or Costco bagel. These bagels are made the mornin of and are still warm when you get them. I would go as far as saying this is the best bagel place in the state of Vermont.

Wish they had other cream cheese flavors besides the basics. Please bring something spicey.

This us one of my favorite places to eat breakfast or lunch. The atmosphere is very layed back and the food is all made from scratch with very big portions at reasonable prices. The bagels are delicious and with the many toppings to pick from you will have a hard time choosing. They have a serve yourself tea and coffee station with other drinks also available. Quiet, quaint, with yummy food give it a try.

I have been coming to this place for years for there donuts which are so so good. You have to order them ahead for they sell out daily because they are so good. Now they serve lunch but haven’t try this yet.Thats next on my list. It’s worth the trip.

Great place for breakfast sandwiches! Definitely not your traditional NY bagel, more just like bread in a bagel shape (no crunch), but good if you arent picky! My biggest issue is their lack of Covid safety. The owner had a mask that would not stay up over his nose. Then he went into the back kitchen (plain view) and took his mask off completely to lean and talk. There was also NO way to keep even a foot of space with the amount of people in there. Unfortunately will not be back until it is safe to do so.

Always wonderful service, even when it is crazy busy. My nick name for this place is Donuts from heaven. You will not be disappointed.

These are the best donuts Ive had in years. They will fill you up! Buttermilk glazed and cinnamon sugar are what Ive tried so far. Cash only but they have an ATM. Tasty coffee too.

I consider myself a bit of a bagle effcienado and I must say I was disappointed. They were hard on the bottom and pretty flavorless (even cinnamon raisin which is easy to make flavorful).Cream cheese was good, which is an important part, but overall rather disappointing.Also, the conservative talk radio was a little off-putting.

The donuts are amazing and if you are lucky and go early on a weekend they may have made the amazing maple cream donuts. Even if not, every donut is delicious and the bagels and top notch - not quite Brooklyn size, but every bit as good. Be sure you hit up the ATM first, because this is a cash only operation.

The bagels were good, but the filling, I got the chicken salad, was okay. No real rhyme or reason when placing your order, no real line. They only take cash, but there was no sign telling you that from what I saw. ATM onsite, that charges you $3.00. Staff wasnt the friendliest. The place looked surface clean, but not a real clean. Not sure Id go back

I stopped here because of the glowing reviews. We had a good meal and a decent experience, but I definitely wouldnt put it at 5 stars.My mom and I got bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches and my dad got blueberry pancakes. Service was friendly but really slow, especially considering that it was near empty when we were there (think about 25 - 30 minutes to get our food). The food was pretty straightforward and tasted good - nothing special, really a standard bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a bagel. I think that A-OK just about sums it up.

We only got them through take out, but oh my were these terrific bagels. You would think a New Yorker in Middlebury would be disappointed, but these actually out shown most New York bagels I’ve had. Also highly recommend the donuts; as my host said, you can’t go back to Dunkin after!

I when there last Saturday just for a morning bagel and coffee. I didn’t get that friendly atmosphere everyone is talking about, i didn’t get a good morning no even a friendly smile. Waited 5 minutes before someone took my order and wait even longer 17 minutes for my bagel. That was cold, eggs cold bagel cold. Just my whole experience there was cold and sad.

We lived in Vt for 10 yrs and moved to Southern, Az. Recently visitors from Middlebury brought us a dozen everything bagels! Wow! Delicious after 45 sec. in microwave to defrost and then, toasted. All we can get here are roll-like things that they call bagels! Yuck. So nice to get the real thing! Thanks, Jay!
