The deli staff are very nice and know their products. Extremely professional. Products are very good. Very fair prices. The good experience ends at check out.The cashier they employ is very rude and extremely unprofessional. Maybe, put your phone down for a minute to wait on customers. I recommend this market if your going thru a 3rd party for cashing out. Example grub hub etc.The in store experience of cash out is awful.I dont intend to shop further in this market for this reason.Sad, because there are so many professional nice people that would benefit from this cashier position and would actually care about customer service.

God, what can I say about Public Market... I have been coming here since I was about five years old when the original owner John was still around and he was the nicest guy, always treated his customers with respect and loved my grandfather, now time has passed and John and my grandfather have both passed but that same familial feeling I get when I walk into public market remains, the staff are friendly and enjoy making conversation, the owner is a nice guy and upholds the Italian deli market to the same standard John did before him. This is a deli that I go to at least three days a week for lunch simply because the atmosphere in here is just the best, not to mention the food is always fresh and oh my god their Mac and cheese trust me if you like Mac and cheese this is easily the best Mac and cheese in middletown you will ever find

Trying to follow a zero waste lifestyle can be difficult especially when grocery shopping and trying to support local shops at the same time. I was thrilled to know that they allowed me to bring my own reusable containers to purchase my sandwich meat & cheese, their delicious chicken cutlets fit perfectly in my stainless steel bento box and I was able to purchase bread and they placed it in my canvas bags. This is a deli to remind you of what a deli is meant to be. Great grinders, real meats, lots of Italian side dishes. As well a butcher counter with nice cuts. The front of the store is a nice quick stop for chips, drinks, etc.

Very nice little market. A little on the high side in prices. They take the EBT card. Make the best combination grinder around.

I used to go here all the time but when I went today it wasnt good at all. Got a grinder and the pepperoni on it wasnt even peeled back before it was sliced so every slice had the packaging around it. The guy making the ginder didnt even put everything we had wanted on it even after asking several times. Im sorry that I sound rude and all I know how it is in the food business nowadays but we had been the only ones in there and didnt even ask for alot only one ginder with pepperoni, ham, lettuce, tomato, cheese peppers, pickles, mayo and mustard . we didnt get the tomatoes, no mustard, the peppers was only pepper skins and two literally two pickles. Normally it takes a few minutes for our ginder it took over ten minutes to get one grinder. Again sorry if its rude but still it wasnt even worth the wait.

Good but not much stuff

Always love going to Public Market for their great selection of meats and groceries. Their desserts are out of this world too, the Oreo cheesecake is my favorite! The people that run the store are all so friendly and helpful too.

The store as to its physical size is: long and narrow and you just might bump into someone but, that is part of its charm and. it has been here, forever. It also, has the best meat, in town, to say nothing of its grinders (I really enjoy their RB grinder). The staff are most helpful and very friendly.

The staff is truly friendly here. The place is a bit small and items are overpriced. It wasnt exactly what I expected but it will do if youre in a rush. Definitely not my first choice but not my last choice either. Its a hit or miss kind of market with limited selections.

In term of authenticity, no other deli Ive been to is more truly Italian.Dont go here expecting the sort of stream lined pace of a deli chain, they are in their 99th year of methods which are tried and true. Foreign (delicious) Italian labeled imports can be translated by one of the many kind faces working there.Im currently eating a roast beef sandwich reminiscing of espresso, fresh sausage egg and cheese made with sliced sausage logs (not patties), and so happy to know about apricot nectar.Dont go here in a rush, because the cashier might need a minute to pull the cookies out of the oven, and if you are in a hurry youll miss them.

Local fixture, been open for generations. Great subs and other hot/cold meals to go. Lots of Italian influence! They have many products from italy for sale such as candies and coffee/espresso makers. Staff is always friendly.

Discovered this jewel while visiting family in CT. The best meatball sub since I left NY for MA 35 yrs ago... Its been so long, Im sure we didnt call them subs then (I think we called them wedges - Im sure they werent grinders!!) Anyway, great meatballs, great bread - have it toasted w/ cheese... Yum!
