Joann Fabrics is a great store and a staple for any creative types. This store was clean, friendly, and well stocked. So why only 3 stars? The shelves seemed stocked in a sloppy haphazard way where items were crowded on the shelves. I tried to take an item off a shelf and it pushed a glass vase-type object onto the floor and broke it. Luckily it was on the bottom shelf. Upon further inspection all the vases were literally hanging off the shelf ready to fall. It was almost as if someone intentionally placed them there to make them fall. I know they didnt but you know what I mean. It was sloppy. A worker was quick with a broom when she heard the breaking glass. I hope she found another home for all the objects hanging off the shelves ready to fall too.

I love joann because they are the only local craft store thats left that still gives big coupons and accepts competitors coupons and they have rewards programs that are easy to follow and it is actually fun and they have everything I need and more

I like the store concept.. It really is set up for the home craft person.. This is larger that the Clinton store I reviewed.. The staff is quite focused with expertise.. If you have a very detailed question the department head will be called over to assist.. Everything in this store should be able to meet your craft needs.. Dont shop online... shop locally.. Its a perfect place to go when you need fabric. Around my area there is not too many places where they sell large amount of fabrics. We love the selection of different types of fabrics. When my girlfriend is looking for fabrics for her sewing projects this is where she finds herself going. so if youre looking for fabrics or things in that nature this is the perfect spot.

Great selection of fabrics and a reasonable price. Always check the clearance section they heavily discount many items that are not coupon eligible (like CRICUT materials), it can be messy but that is part of the fun for me. The line moves pretty quickly and staff is generally super helpful. Download the app for coupons. Parking is available.

Enjoyed our first time in a Joanns. Asked for a military discount and cashier informed us to download the app. I think it was 15% discount. Cashier was patient with us while we downloaded the app and input our info.

WOULD GIVE THEM 0 STARS IF I COULD!! My friend ordered tie dye materials from Milfords location for her daughters birthday, due to quarentine restrictions she wanted to do what she could at home since no family or party was possible, and ordered a week before the day in order to make sure there would be no issues. She selected curbside pick up, which the website claims should be ready within 48 hours of the order, if not 2 hours depending on when ordered. She waited for TWO WEEKS without receiving any update, her daughters birthday came and went, and when she called the Milford store the person who answered the phone gave her nothing but attitude, didnt even allow her to finished speaking to let them know shed ordered a week prior, not a day, and proceeded to hang up on her. Hamdens location is providing ACTUAL curbside pickup within 24-48 hours with no issues. Shes still yet to hear anything about her order. Would N O T recommend this location to anyone, unless they never want to receive the items they paid for or hear back from anyone.

Good selection of reasonably priced yarns and tools. I went in today for 4 items and left with 9 because the prices were so much lower than the local knitting store.

I practically live here. Their merchandise is different and wonderful. I make many costumes and love their YaYa Han collection. I use the coupons I get in the mail. Its a happy day for me when I get to meander through the store and dream about all the designs I will create.

Love the holiday spirit. They have some Christmas ornaments already out, but for the most part, they have out Halloween and fall stuff. Definitely visit this wonderful store.

The store was very well maintained. Everything was easy to find, organized and accessible. I was there wondering through the wedding section and also taking advantage of the after holidays sales. Lastly, all teachers receive a 15% discount when they sign up for newsletter.

Asked an employee what aisle I could find elastic bands for a home-made tutu I was making, she simply said “we don’t sell any” and walked off. Thanks to the fabric department for showing me where they were and helping me figure out exactly how much material I needed for my project.

I use many of the yarn products. RARELY have I not found what I need (in yarn). I have more than once been disappointed that I was NOT able to replace the SIZE of a favorite crochet hook. I try and keep extras around since most of the time the use the same size. I also prefer to keep projects in project bags with all the supplies for the project all together. This requires extra hooks.

Tons of fabric. Pick out and have it cut to size. Reasonable prices, nice customer service. Conveniently located off route 1 in milford.

Great store for sewers. Wish there was one closer to where I live. Almost an hour ride. It had everything you could possibly need for sewing and other crafts.

I had my daughter into crocheted class ajd we were there 9 am they told us to sit down. we waited about 25 minutes and asked again since we didnt see no one coming well after 45 minutes they said the class was cancel. not the best service

At first I was very, very disappointed in the rules of retail witch all good employees should know. I walked in with a project of reconditioning an antique chair, of which I dont have much knowledge of but thought would be a fun thing to do, so I drove all the way down specifically to Jo-Ann Fabrics figuring their fabric experts and perhaps they could give me some advice. I was met by a young girl in the back. I very politely and pleasantly explained my situation to which the reply was ... you can choose from any of that fabric over there to which she points to the wall and all this fabric of which Im unfamiliar then all you have to do is measure Ill get you a measuring tape. She walks away I never see her again. I could see if they were extremely busy but there was no one back there except for myself and possibly two or three other people. In the end I demanded to see the store manager who, I have to give credit when credit is due was absolutely wonderful and helping me pick out fabric, giving me suggestions and explanations on how to go about refinishing the chair. So I must say she saved the day. Quite honestly I was ready to call the district manager. As well the women up front at the checkout or very very pleasant Im a little Leary about returning back there but I will because the women upfront were so friendly and being someone that work retail for 25 years prior to what I do now I give all credit to the store manager who came out and made sure all her Is were dotted and all her Ts were crossed. As well she took an interest in my project and helped me immensely.

Easily the best Jo-Anns store in the area. The store is large and has an excellent inventory of fabrics, yarn, home decor and craft supplies. The scrapbooking and jewelry making supplies are also varied and they carry most of the well-known brands. Excellent clearance areas, with many great bargains.Be sure to come in with coupons; Jo-Anns is one store that allows you to use more than one coupon per day.Friendly staff, but not all of them know a lot about the merchandise; you may have to ask more than one associate to get the answers you need or to help you locate an item.Plenty of parking at this location which is good, because it gets extremely crowded around the Christmas season. The checkout lines are always long; be prepared to wait unless you shop first thing in the morning!

Joanns has a lot of variety but not enough high end products in any class. Their fabrics are ok but not the best you can find especially for clothing. Their quilt fabrics are ok but not the really beautiful ones you can find in a dedicated quilt fabric store. The same is true of their floral and yarns. There is something to be said for small specialty shops.

Staff is very helpful, great selection, loose a star for charging deposit for shopping carts.

Christian did a great job in mounting 4 large watercolors of different sizes. The prices were very reasonable, much better than Michaels or AC Moores.

Great place for crafts a sewing supplies, but the service needs improvement. I sent. A male friend from our retail job to get thread and to ask for help if he could not match the thread. He ask a sales clerk to help him and she pointed to where the thread was and told him she would only do the same thing he did. My friend said she made him feel like an idiot. Our company has decided to purchase our supplies else were.
