Poor customer. I asked the guy behind the counter 4 times for help in an empty store and all he could do is stay seated and point over there. I said I’m new to I store shopping and I needed help his reply was it’s over there. I turned around and walked out. Definitely would not recommend going there

Some background I worked retail about ten years in high school, through and out of college so the last thing I like is giving a place a bad review. Hell a 5 star is usually automatic because the workers get bonuses usually on good customer surveys so for me to leave a bad one I had to be really impressed, it had to be memorable. This time they get two stars because we come here a lot and the owner is super nice, and does a lot for the conventions, otherwise this woulda been one or no stars.Tried picking up the fortnite special on a Tuesday since DC comics made it available and -spoilers we easily found it elsewhere- but wow the guy behind the counter is the worst, just kept repeating comics release Wednesday, comics release Wednesday! Like dude if I wanna work with a machine Ill go online, I love comic shops, I wanna talk to a person, not whatever the hell this interaction was.I get that DC ships on Tuesdays now and traditionally comics drop on Wednesday but I basically got yelled at, then he was rude as hell to two calls he got about the same thing as I waited to see if they expected to have a good amount Wednesday so I just left.Buddy its not our fault youre fed up with DC or dont like a specific comic someone asked about. This place is normally fine but this guy sucked and was terrible. It was a zero star interaction but the owner is great so they get two. Honestly the owner being a good dude is probably the only reason this other guy still has a job.

Best LCS around, friendly staff, plenty of back issues, keys and grails in stock at affordable prices, highly recommend.

Awesome comic store. Nice variety of comics and collectibles. I buy comic book holders for my old comics here all the time. Theyre always in stock. They even carry trading card games, such as Yugioh and Pokémon, with all of the accessories youll need for the games. (Deck boxes, sleeves, binders) Friendly staff as well, theyll answer any question you have.

Great comic shop, if your a comic person, a must stop.

Lots of new books and a healthy back issue selection

Ok, so we went here and picked up 2 comics. The next time I asked if there was a comic in stock the owner said “new comics come in on wensday. The comic came out on Tuesday. Bad!!!!!

Its fairly priced, well-stocked, and in a good location. I like coming here mostly for magic cards and such, but I get comics from time to time too. Its the only comic book/card game place in my town pretty much and the staff is very nice.

This was my second time coming to Alternate Universe. I was helped by the same guy both times. A guy with a scraggly beard who is too busy to get out from behind his computer to answer any questions. Rude. Short with answers. Has a bias towards specific comics and just wouldnt help. I gave this location a second chance and went today, something with the same guy, rude, short with his answers. Im all about supporting my local comic store but this trip seriously made me consider an online collection. Shame.

If you want to be ignored at the only place you want to feel accepted than come here. The clerk who was more interested in watching TV and browsing the internet than to talk to me or help me to find what I was looking for was a shell of a human being who has no place working retail period. I hope he is not the owner or the writing is on the wall for this place. Secret Stash its not. Go elsewhere to spend your hard earned money.Matt L

Ive been coming to Alternate on and off for years & Ive never had a bad experience. Due to some health issues, I cant make it in as often as Id like & by the time I get there, they might be sold out of what Im looking for. The owner told me to call ahead & hed hold my comics if theyre in rather than making a trip for items that might not be there. But you can find comics, trades & all the supplies you need for your collection.

The guy behind the desk was way more interested in watching some science fiction program than he was with helping a potential customer. I wanted to try comics again since I was a fan when I was in my teens. I tried asking the guy about books i used to read and it seem to annoy him. He told me to try the internet. Sorry, Im not cool enough to be apart of your comic book world

Extremely polite and informative has a great selection of comics and graphic novels. Very helpful when finding old back issues and getting great opinionated conversations about all things comics.

Great if youre really into comics. If youre into manga, like myself, good for the occasional back issue of older series.

Awesome comic shop, great staff, always helpful

I have been shopping at the Alternative Universe Milford location for over a year. Great store and staff, they have tons of stock and always get plenty of copies of all new books each week. In the rare instance they dont have what youre looking for theres a good chance they can have it sent down from their other location in New Haven. Nice big parking lot, big interior with plenty of back issues, toys, statues, RPG games and magazines.
