Well stocked, good selection, clean, not too crowded, decent prices, nice staff. Special price on select sushi boxes on Wednesday (might not last forever). Definitely would recommend.

Love this store! The produce department and staff are top-notch, as are the meat and seafood departments. The entire staff is warm, friendly, and professional, and the store is bright, clean, and well-stocked. Big Y Milford never disappoints.

I like Big Y. They have a lot of local products, a lot of different products, rather than the same old same old. I dont think theyre more expensive than Stop and Shop or Shoprite. Ive had one or two issues, like one does, and each time the manager or whoever rectified the situation to my satisfaction. Also: their meat and seafood departments smell better than just about anywhere else. I like cleanliness!

I loved the selection and the amazing food unfortunately I wasnt treated very well at the cashier. I couldnt find my debit card and she gave me such a hard time about it. I had to ask her to void the transaction so i can just come back for hat i was buying. She looked at me sighed and made me feel so bad about the whole situation. Im glad customer service was so nice to me it help me get through my hard morning.

Always have ROTTING produce INSIDE the store. And when you buy what does look decent, once you get it home, it goes bad within a few days. I’ve brought quality & safety issues to managements attention multiple times; each time was the same response... they didn’t seem shocked, surprised, or even offer an “I’m sorry”. They just took the rotting or moldy product and said “next”.UPDATE: 10/4/21 called this store and specifically spoke to the manager Joe. Told him about our ongoing quality issues and concerns and he sounded like he didn’t want to be bothered. Didn’t any of my info or look at my account to see how much money is spent and wasted at this store. He told me to stop by the customer service desk and get whatever money back I wanted…..????? Seriously? That’s not what I was looking for.Joe, you did a poor job handling this customer concern - a concern that could lead to health issues. Food poisoning shouldn’t be taken lightly. Your store needs to stop selling rotting produce and rancid poultry.We will be shopping at another store from now on. We will find another store who FOCUSES and DELIVERS on their promise of fresh food.

You can judge alot about ANY establishment by the cleanliness and upkeep of their restrooms. The Big Y restroom was spotless. My wife gave it 👍👍👍. Nothing more needs to be said.😄

This is the first time I have been in Big Y Grocery Store. I think it is a good Store for all shopping needs, the shelves were stocked well and organized. I liked the fact that it has specialty items and hard to find items as well, you wont be disappointed but I was a little surprised by some of their prices.

Very high quality meats, produce and seafood just to name a few items. Kind of price so you should shop the sales and use coupons. Lots of things here, like pantry items can be found elsewhere cheaper - but this store is convenient. Cookware and a host of nonfood items to keep you stocked. Enjoy.

Not impressed. Narrow aisles. Store was clean. Prices were higher than at other local grocery stores. Apples were 20 cents more. National brand of cereal was $5.79 there as opposed to $3.99 at ShopRite. Not much selection of breads. Probably wont go back.

Normally I love Big Y but their pizza department was incredibly lazyI asked for a pepperoni stromboli and the young man behind the counter, clearly not interested in helping, dryly said he couldnt as he was out of pepperoniFun context - we were IN A SUPERMARKET with various kinds of sliced pepperoni not more than ten feet away.Next time come up with a better lie

Dont waste your time going to this particular store, shelves always empty, cant relay on getting what you need week to week product just disappearing from stock, its like they sell only what THEY want to sell at a higher price. I will travel the extra miles to Shop Rite from now on and get the product I use for a lesser price.

Really like BIG y specials!! Point cut corned beef for $1.69lb!! Got 2 beautiful pieces!! All carrots(2lbs for $1) were GONE!!, and they didnt put any more out!! Only thing I didnt like!! Nice red potatoes. Never bought them before. FRESH RYE BREAD!! Delicious!! Anyway, everybody has carrots on sale. Overall, my BIG Y visit was a happy one today!! :) :)

I like the convenience of having a Big Y near my home. I had a few times checking out when the individual working did not pay attention and was clearly in my personal space. Maybe it’s just a lack of awareness to detail but given today’s day and age with a pandemic is a little disheartening. Still a great place to shop; some workers just need to pay attention to detail.

Got to chat with the manager again today. I always like this store even if it is a little bit of extra driving time to get there.

First time to Big Y and ...wow...I was blown away by the cleanliness, and the variety of lean meats. Easy to navigate instore. Vegetables are in such a huge area that practicing social distance was super easy. And yes, masks and distancing are practiced here. Hand sanitizers available for hands and shopping cart. Im hooked..

My wife and I stopped by to buy the Friday, fish and chip special with Cole slaw. We waited in a long line at the sea food section, okay, understandable since they are made to order. I place and receive a pre made order right away. I get home and realize there was no Cole slaw. I called customer service and spoke with Dawn, a very nice person who told me I could get my slaw the next time I was in the store. We then start to serve the meal. The fish was very oily, falling apart as I took it out of the box and the fries were slightly over cooked. Maybe this is why I was given the order that sat around just to get ride of it. Normally Id check my order before I leave but with covid I didnt feel comfortable opening the order in a supermarket. Im fairly new shopping at Big Y and dont get there much since I normally shop in West Haven, where I live..

Love this store for variety and helpful staff. Prices are high so I tend to go for small shopping trips and when I have some of their coupons. Store always well organized, sales well marked and if there is an issue, resolved quickly with no questions asked.

Love Big Y, yes some people think they are expensive but the quality of their meat, fresh fruit and vegetables are superior to Stop and Shop and Shop Rite. The store is very clean and employees are all friendly. I love how they have a person sanitize the grocery carts after each use.

The name lived up to the hype. The store entrance is decorated with fresh pumpkins, firewood and all other types of seasonal items. The carts are cleaned and given to you by a caring staff member and the store just seems tranquil compared to other stores where everyone is running around trying grab something before its gone. Aisle are wide yet dont look endless like a tunnel. The itema are stacked in a way that lets you see whats there vs stacking items for volume. This place kinda reminds me of what it must have been to shop at outdoor markets back in the good Ole days as they say...

AMAZING SUSHI! Chit at the sushi station hooked us up with delicious fresh sushi. Made to order! He was extremely friendly and helpful when taking our order. He even gave us four complimentary sushi pieces on top of the six rolls that were included in the platter we ordered. He prepared everything for us in 20 minutes while we did the rest of our shopping (although usually I think you are supposed to order ahead). Presentation and taste were on point, dare I even say better than sushi I’ve had in some restaurants.All in all pleasantly surprised for grocery store sushi! I will definitely be back for more! 🍣🤗

We went there while vacationing in Milford. Very clean, beautiful store. Employees were very nice...We all work in supermarkets in NY, and I was shocked at how high the prices were. My contact solution was about $7 more than I usually pay and the produce was also $3-4 more than Im used to paying ( comparing non-sale prices). Maybe this is just the cost of living in Milford?

What a great addition! I love the prepared food options. I highly recommend the stir fry. Tonight, I had Fish and Chips. It was so delicious! The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. The store is filled with helpful and very friendly staff. The options are abundant and the weekly sales are quite exciting.

Overall a nice place to shop but I could not help to notice that the employees at the deli we’re not wearing hair nets while handling and packaging food, which, personally I think is not sanitary.

I left the new Milford CT store a little while ago thinking about what I witnessed.No worker that I could see was even remotely using social distancing or wearing masks or gloves. I talked to a few that did not have these on. In fact as I was leaving the store there was a group of workers including a group of individuals that appeared to be managers all taking very close by each other. One woman in this group even said very loudly “ Don’t forget to keep your social distance” to the other members in this group which was followed by her laughing and others following her lead and also laughing.I know this will be denied by these people but look at the interior cameras by the service desk at around 1:51pm on 3/25(from my receipt). These are people working there very carelessly who handle the food that we eat. Not really smart individuals. One man stood out in the group. He was tall, large and, I believe, wearing a white shirt.I wouldn’t go back to this store. No safe shopping here.

I never had Sushi before and last week Sunday, a guy named Nay from sushi gave me a sample and explained every kinds of sushi. Im very impressed and interested. He recommended me Crunchy tempura since i dont like raw. Every foods is high quality.

The sushi here is incredible. Restaurant flavor and high quality ingredients. We got a platter of 3 large rolls for $20.99. Cannot beat it! They will customize the platter for you and make fresh for you while you shop. Hands down best deal!!

I used to shop at the one in ansonia before moving to Milford. I feel that the prices are too high. Not everything but most of the items that I purchased. But you have a big choice because theyre is 3 super markets in a one mile radius. So take your time and find the one that best meets your budget.

Store was very clean well maintained courteous employees and managers, A Wide variety of selections. In my 20 plus years experience at the big Y was never a disappointment.

I am changing my review. Even though I had a bit of an unsafe experience with the Big Y in Milford, I want to be fair because their system was down and things are tough right now. They are doing the best they can. Ill continue to still go to Big Y but I am will only shop there if their system for debit cards are working.
