Vineyard Gate has been a natural wine trailblazer in Millbrae for over 20 years. The frequently updated selections are tasty and alive. I started as a club member well over a year ago and I’m now a regular purchaser of whatever Alex recommends which is always interesting and delicious.

Great wine shop that carries a tasty selection of organic and natural wines. The owner is well versed in wine and sake, and he seems to personally know many winemakers he represents, or at the very least the winemakers stories behind the bottles. Highly recommended!

Alex Bernardo not only really knows wine but his selection is also broad and deep particularly for Europe (Burgundy, Bordeaux, Alsace, Rhone, Loire, Champagne, and German Mosel and Rheingau) and the US West Coast (California, Oregon and Washington), with many hard to find producers represented, always affordable. While his stock normally includes many well-known domaines and negociants, his French Burgundies are often unique and not carried by anyone else in Northern California. Ive also been at Vineyard Gate for several tastings, including Moët & Chandon with a French representative, and special events like a wine-tasting party for a friends birthday, and its a great venue for intimate and convivial occasions. When looking for special wine, I usually first search Vineyard Gate on the San Francisco Peninsula.
