One of my favorite stops was today, not so favorite. I stopped in to look at keyboards. The area looked unkept and sloppy. Most of the keyboards in which I was interested did not have price tags. Many of the keyboards did not work (or were not plugged) so I could try out the sounds & settings. No one asked if I could be helped. After waiting for about 20 minutes and aimlessly searching for more details on some of the keyboards, I got tired of waiting and simply left. This is not usual for this store but was very disappointing. I decided to go home and look for keyboards online.

The place is nice in general but I came in with a guitar I had received for Christmas from a family member and it was obviously a cheap one since I am starting to learn how to play. I came in and the first gentlemen that assisted me was super friendly and directed me to the guitar tech. He did my diagnostic and told me to just return it since it was defective I asked if I can just get it fixed (I was willing to pay any amount so I can start playing.) he kept insisting that I return it because he had never heard of this brand and it was a really cheap guitar. I took his advice and returned it but I left the store with a sour taste in my mouth. They made me feel like I was a waste of there time because I didn’t buy a guitar from them and it was a cheap beginners guitar.

I honestly hate leaving bad reviews, and I tend to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but... I literally just paid $80 to have my guitar strings replaced. took my 15 yo Ibanez acoustic / electric in for service. a little beat up, needed new tuning pegs (rusty), neck adjustment, new bridge, etc. i told them everything i wanted done and no problem with the cost. they suggested / I paid for the deluxe tune up package. two days later, pick up the guitar and literally the only difference / thing they did is change the strings. it wasnt even polished properly (streaks all over the guitar) and none of the other work requested was completed. save your money, do it yourself...

Twice Ive had pleasant experiences at this location!! I am SHOCKED but pleased!! The staff was beyond helpful and accommodating. They remembered me from a previous visit. Normally I is awful and I leave disgusted, but SOMETHING HAS CHANGED AND IM OVER THE MOON. please keep it up I boycotted and started going to Union fir everything but now Ill be back. Lets hope it stays this way!!

This store (this location specifically) has taken a complete 180 over the past few years. I remember they used to have friendly and knowledgeable staff who would approach customers and offer assistance.Nowadays, they act like it’s an inconvenience when a customer walks in, because you’re interrupting their conversations with other employees, or simply because they have to stand up to help you. When you do finally get them to assist you, they say “let me check in the back”, disappear for 10 minutes, and then you turn around, and they’re in the middle of processing a sale with a different customer. Apparently commission is the only thing that’s important there.This store reminds me of every Radio Shack, in the months leading up to them going out of business. So I expect this location to not be around much longer.

Dont bother going here. I was trying to buy a cymbal. I asked the manager to open the cymbal lock so I can purchase it, nothing. I walked around the store to find someone else to open it, no one was there. I asked the manager again, he said Is this to pruchase it. I said yes. He didnt page anyone. I waited a 10 more minutes then I walked out. I told the manager Thanks for the help. He just looked at me, like I was the problem. Dont bother, worse service ever

It is so sad to see what is happening to Guitar Center in general. And Covid has only made worse the situation.At the Millbury GC, however, there was a good amount of customer traffic. Christmas gift buying mostly. And I overheard the staff engaging in real, meaningful conversations with the customers, guiding them to the best tangible realities of the gift ideas they had in mind. I dont mean simply upselling.I was, likewise, able to find gifts for my grandsons, that I am satisfied with, and I hope they will enjoy and play. Musical instruments arent much good if theyre kept in the box.

Have been going here for quite a while and everybody is always EXTREMELY knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly. They never try to push sales on you and are genuinely interested in getting you what you need, and not upselling you. Had a very, very positive interaction with Teddy and Jo Ann today while dropping off my Epiphone Wildcat. Could not have been more pleasant, friendly and helpful!

Bought a high end used bass from this store. Item was listed in excellent condition. It was shipped to my home. Item was not appropriately packed. Arrived scuffed. Had a previously broken neck that was poorly repaired. Packed with dust. Intonation was way off. Smelled like and ash try.Obviously this chain is not run by professionals with integrity.

And wish over and over and over that although my son is a guitarist I could go to Guitar Center and actually get H.E.L P last time I spent 1k but it doesnt matter. Always have a good experience every visit. I often go there to purchase musical instruments and live sound equipment either for my band or my church. They offer products catered to beginners and professionals alike. Staff are often musicians themselves and are familiar with the equipments.

Guys are knowledgeable... but sometimes you have to use multiple forms of communication assistance indicators like chirps, coughs, grunts, and barks to get them to stop talking to each other about their own bands to help you find a chord to plug in what youd like to test and buy. Crazy how helpful one guy became when my brother was ready to swipe his card for a $1000 Taylor, hard case, PA, and other stuff. Introduced himself and everything... for that commission ;)

Very poor service no staff in the Millbury store has any knowledge of music or music production you cant even buy anything from these clowns any longer the online service is probably the worst in the entire world. Instead of wanting to make sales and take your money they would rather act ignorant and have you cancell your order the entire staff at Millbury guitar center should all be terminated and maybe the owner president and CEO of Guitar center should focus on hiring people knowledgeable on sales and music

The staff here are unbelievably friendly and if you go, it’s worth talking to Ben. I was referred to him for a re-stringing and not only was he more than fair with pricing, he engaged me in friendly conversation and was one of the most personable employees I’ve ever met. He knew what he was doing and showed a real zeal for his craft. Another employee also gave me a box free of charge to transport the guitar and I was grateful. Overall I was completely satisfied with everyone there and would highly recommend this location to anyone.

Not sure why people are saying the customer service is bad. Ive been going to this guitar center location ever since they opened. They have a huge selection of new and used equipment. Recently bought 2 guitars from them and they were very patient with me and all my questions. First I got a beautiful Taylor then more recently a Gibson. The staff was very informative, and friendly. They even took time to show me how some of the equipment worked, Lee was the one who helped me with my purchase. Was a very satisfying experience and will definitely be returning. 5/5 Id give them more if I could

As much as I would prefer to purchase from a smaller business, and I hate to admit this, purchasing anything from GC is always so easy and the sales can be pretty damn good... My only issue (sometimes, not always) is that their techs and sales folks tend to be a little less than expert with their skills and experience. But theyre usually great about conducting themselves professionally and courteously and I cant say Ive ever had an issue with my interactions with them. Always a pleasant experience chatting with a fellow musician if nothing else!

Looks like they just piled everything on the floor. Cant move around in the store the place needs to be picked up. The repair section looked like a junkyard everything was scattered all over the place. Couldnt even get to the guitars behind it afraid to step on the parts all over the ground.

The people there are truly passionate about music, and I had great talks with two of the workers there for a decent amount of time. Came in today on my lunch break to get info on my next guitar purchase. They were busy, however i had 2 questions to ask. 1. Are the value pack electric guitars comparable to stand alones and 2. What is a good acoustic for around $200. First the associate who was visibly upset that he was stuck at the register (and made a call saying he needs a body at the register) started to answer question 1 when he got a call. I respectfully waited a couple minutes for him to take it. He continued to answer my question, and then was interrupted by another call which i also respectfully waited, when he was done he just walked away. After a couple moments another associate came over. I asked question 2. He said at that price there is bot much that is playable, but i can point you in the right direction. He brought me to the doorway of the acoustics room and said, with out entering, i wpuld get the yamaha (something) 600. I said ok as he was also visibly frustrated for some reason, and then he walked away quickly. I looked in the direction he pointed, for a yamaha with 600 on it, gowever found none. I found at least 3 guitars which sounded nice, yet i had more questions, and felt unwelcome, and just left instead. Guitar center has some great deals, as i have seen online, however the customer service at this location was not impressive.

I had a nice review before but tonight changed it ! Went in like usual and played in the acoustic room as I left I bought a pack of strings and a cable . I just asked a question about the cable because Ive had problems with them before and the man behind the counter was rude as hell to me saying you dont jump rope with them and you dont fling them across the room so your cables last ! And then checking our instead of saying over here sir it was a forcefull point with right here and I could tell he had a massive attitude towards me ! Attitude is everything towards customers !! Guess I will shop on line for now on ! You lost my business!

Two stars for very weak customer service and lack of stock. Ive given this guitar center location a few tries to win me back but I usually leave feeling disappointed. Most of the sales staff seem disinterested and lack product knowledge. Case in point- I just went to see if they had a tube mic pre amp and some acoustic strings. The pro audio associate was on break and he likes to take extended breaks so it wasnt clear when he would return. The only available associate didnt really know what a tube mic preamp was and said their system was difficult for finding such things. Long story short, they didnt have it, didnt know what it was, and no one asked if I needed help after 10 minutes of walking around the store. I left without buying strings. Ill just spend money at Sweetwater because they actually want my business.

Now I own 20 dollars worth of guitar strings that I really never wanted to begin with. Us return them, but Id rather not even need to go back in.

The sales staff here is awesome, friendly and great with new customers and regulars alike. This store feels like a second home, they always give great recommendations and they all come from unique musical backgrounds which makes it nice to cross check opinions between employees. The only thing holding the store back is that the inventory is mid tier, its not super diverse or the worst, but again I have to say with emphasis that this is the best guitar center sales crew Ive seen in new england

I brought in my Mustang for a set up because the vibrato wasnt really working the way I wanted it to and I didnt know how to fix it. I paid $60, on the phone talking to the tech he said to me that it was his first time setting up a mustang style vibrato (Yikes)! The vibrato is set up just the same as when I dropped it off and guitar now buzzes WORSE than when I dropped it off, not only was I robbed of $60 for awful service, I also now have to pay for a real professional to set up my guitar. Im beyond dissatisfied with this, I will NEVER bring my guitar to a guitar center tech ever again.

All those bad stuff you have been hearing, they are all lies, this center has experienced staff, has a wide selection of instruments besides guitars. And I got a name brand guitar for only 140$, better than Amazons 200$ ones. Certain accessories are expensive, but the investment will last you for years. In few years practice, Im going to spend hours there, Just trying out every kind of guitar there under the sun. ◕‿↼

Roland Drum kits do NOT come with a high hat stand or bass drum pedal. This was not made clear to my by the salesman (Ok, 50% my fault for not listening, 50% his for not asking me would you also like to purchase...)Long story short, I went back prepared to spend a couple hundred bucks more and they gave me the HH stand and bass drum pedal FREE OF CHARGE. Not only that but the manager was nice about it, even thanked me.You cant get better than that. Id give them 6 stars if I could!
