This place is a disappointment every time I go there. I keep going there because often times it is on my way from work, and I dont have much time for shopping for halal meat. Its pricey, they are stingy. Heres what I got for $15. I asked for a skewer of lamb, and I got six small pieces of meat on a bunch of lettuce. I did ask to replace rice with bread, so yeah, I got two halves of pita bread :(. I asked for not spicy, and got extra hot sauce included.
Very thoughtful service! They were out of pita and very kindly offered to substitute hummus. Absolutely everything was on point! And the veggie salad was flavorful and utterly fresh, the rice was perfectly cooked and tender, and the chicken skewers were wonderfully seasoned and just sang heavenly hymns in my mouth! Also, very reasonably priced! 11 or $12? Yes please!
Taste of the food is fantastic, great seasoning and tenderness of their meat: five stars.Prices are good, very filling portions: four stars.Venue, service and atmosphere are okay, smaller space, only few tables, more of a walk-up place: three stars. There are plenty of free parking right outside. Will I come back here? Yes! You bet I repeatedly will.
Cleanest Meat Market in the Bay Area. They have very good delicious food also. And they are not pricely.Food was very good. But after I order my food, they were about the closing. They start to clean the all areas which I never seen any meat market in Bay Area.Wonderful. Great job. I hope you will get more customers then before after someone will see this comment. Please check the pics.
Along with grilled meat & burgers, they also sell raw meats. Bought goat meat which was already pre-packaged, so could only buy the whole package which was way more than I wanted & priced for around $12/lb. While cleaning the meat at home, found out that the pieces were already frozen- felt that it wasnt not fresh and also not tender.
Really good food. Everything is fresh. I love the burgers. They also have kabobs and rotisserie chicken. They even have a butcher shop too. good quality always. Definitely recommend this place.
They need to update the timings on internet, I went couple of times and all the time they say is going to open in next 30 mins. If it’s not opened, they you need to lock the door.
I am so disappointed. The review for this restaurant was so good that I had to try it. What a mistake. I dont think I will come back here again.I came here at 11:28 AM and ordered a rotisserie chicken plate to go. The cashier said it would take 45 minutes so I decided to order a Chicken Tikka Kabob and Chili Chicken Kabob to go instead. He said it would take 10-15 minutes. At that time the timestamp on the receipt said 11:29 AM.At 11:50 AM my food was not ready yet but many others received their food first. I was assured its coming. At 12:00 PM I was told its ready but I did not receive the food until 12:05 PM. There was no apology, there was no explanation why such simple dish would take so long. My only guess was that they lost my order.I could have gotten what I wanted in the first place (rotisserie chicken plate) had I known it would take them 35 minutes to prepare two plates of kabob. The to-go bag felt a bit light. I came home and weighed the food.Chili Chicken Kabob ($10.99) weighed 14.3 oz, including the box. The chicken pieces weighed 4.6 oz.Chicken Tikka Kabob ($12.99) weighed a little over 17 oz with the meat pieces at 6.7 oz.Where is the pita bread? Am I supposed to get pita bread? Photos from other reviewers seem to show that they got pita bread. So I got ripped off! Not only were they super late with my order, they did not include (what I think is included) pita bread! Finally, food tasted good. I like how the chicken dishes tasted, the rice was also seasoned well. The salad was more like garnish with the minuscule slices of mostly raw onion, a little bit of lettuce and one sliver of tomato.Based on my experience today, I am giving Tayyibaat 2 stars considering: portion was tiny for the price, service was ridiculously slow with no explanation or apology for delays, pita bread was missing from my order, but food was good. Will I come back here? Sorry, no.
A very high headed owner. Quotes a different price and then charges higher. If you dont check your receipt, you can get ripped off easily. On reminding their mistake, the owner will just say- dont come back here. This is no way to run a business
Halal. I had chicken tikka kabob. It was nice and juicy. Light on seasoning. Plain rice. Could use brown rice or some flavored rice. Salad had some green chili in there which made it very spicy for my taste. Small seating area not for large groups.I previously had jalapeño burger and half chicken platter which were very good.
Good Meat. Customer interaction and service they should very much improve..
They used to be good. Now super overpriced and food portion is so little
Quite possibly the makers of the best burger in the Bay Area, by a long shot.If you are the kind of person that wants actual, delicious meat in your burger, these guys have you covered.
Such a great find! Very good kabobs and gyros. Loved their hot wings! Their hamburgers look great, though we havent tried them yet.
May be a one time eat. Didnt like the taste much, expect more spicy if something is named chili kebab. Also price is high in compare to the quantity served.
Meat prices at the Butcher Shop are not listed. Everyone is charged different and thats not Halal
Great food. Delicious. Great place to go for halal fast food. It’s hard to find halal fast food places and I’m glad they serve it. Great staff as well.
Got a chili chicken kebab plate from here, the hummus was missing, instead was given mint sauce. Disappointed
Spicy wings are average
Best afghan food around rhe area. I dont need to drive to fremont.
Tried this spot before with my friend and I am addicted ever since. I enjoy the fantastic character and tasty food and beverages. I recommend this place.
I eat here a lot since I work nearby. I got to say the service is always good and they keep the place clean all the time. Rates are fair and they serve generous portions.
They offer a large range of delicious food. I enjoyed eating here. Staff members are always very welcoming, pricing is fair and the place is always well organised.
Ive been their customer for over 7 years. They sell best Halal meat in the Bay Area. Thumbs up 👍
The meat dishes here are bomb! Thats what happens when you combine a butcher shop and restaurant together :DThis place is small, with very little seating area. I prefer to just get the food to go. Their menu is simple, you can either get kebabs, burgers, chicken, wraps, and few side dishes like fries!I got their wrap which only comes with chicken I think. It was HUGE for 8 dollars. Definitely worth it :) It was packed with so much rice, chicken, and other condiments plus it had so much flavor. The lime cilantro sauce they give is also delicious and compliments the wrap really well. My boyfriend got their chicken kebab and I thought that dish tasted great as well. The chicken was a little dry but had a nice smoky taste. They give a nice side of tomatoes and cucumbers that balanced the dish.Overall I enjoyed their dishes and I would definitely come back! Great alternative to Dish Dash if you want something quick and easy.
Would certainly recommend trying this place. Exceptional mood, tasty food, fantastic service. Keep it up.
This spot never disappoints. They have fresh food for reasonable prices, there is no waiting time even when the place is busy.
Great fresh meat that you can either prepare at home yourself or get grilled there. Always fresh and flavorful. I love their while rotisserie chicken - very juicy.
One of my comfort food places
The chili lamb kebab plate was great. Sometimes the modesty of great comfort foods can make it easy to overlook. Every component of this dish is well executed. The tomato and cucumber salad is fresh, bright and acidic... The rice is perfectly prepared in texture, consistency, and flavor with just the right amount of oil, fennel, and smoky spices. The lamb chili kebab was moist, flavorful and crispy on the outside. The flat bread had a good crisp, dry, sour flavor to it.
I had a really bad experience here when I came to buy food. Inspite of me requesting the shop owner to let me use my own bag he forced me to use a new plastic bag. They have no respect for the environment. I am disgusted.
Best place for meat, high quality goat and chicken meat.
I liked the chicken chili kabob with rice. Had enough of a small spicy kick to it and I eat real spicy food.
Ripped me off when I went there to buy halal meat, highly untrustworthy. My roommate suggested this place to buy halal meet as I cared. Went there and asked for ground beef. The young tall middle eastern looking guys behind the counter asked me if I wanted extra lean or not, and I asked what is the PRICE difference, he thought I asked what is the difference(instead of price difference) and started explaining. As he though I am new to this and can be ripped off, he went back and brought some frozen meet from their freezer room in the back and gave it to me as extra lean, I could see the whitish color, but though maybe it was frozen. It was the worst ground beef I have ever bough in US as it had so much extra fat and smelled so bad. I would never go back, even for the food.
Delicious food, especially the chicken chili and chicken tikka kabobs! Green sauce (probably has a more formal name) is heavenly on top of everything. They have great customer service and the food is always ready really fast even on a crowded lunch hour. One of my favorites in the Bay!
My last purchase of goat meat that was mostly big size bones which pretty much did it for me. Had very mixed experiences before. The quality has gone down quite a lot.
Good meat and good customer service. But the grill is an expensive option if you dont need Halal. Ex a very tiny burger patty for $6.00.
NEVER BUY MEAT FROM HERE !!I buy meat here occasionally and twice I have received rotting meat from them . The first time when I returned it, the lady accepted the fault and gave different meat bag . . The second time after a few months when I went the guy called his main boss and he did not accept that the meat was stale and in turn argued with me about the meat being fresh . When I mentioned that this has happened to me twice his response was - please stop coming hereAnyways he returned my money . My advice is not to buy meat from this place as it could cause food poisoning . Also I wonder what kind of meat is used in cooking food as they serve food too.. please beware !
The Beef Tikka Kabob is good. Its usually done medium well to well done. The rice tastes good and so does the hummus. Parking is limited and so are seats. The food can take some time to come out as well.
Amazing food here. Always fresh and full of flavor especially the lamb kabobs. I will be back again and again.
Good kababs and veggie wrap. Rotisserie chicken was a bit dry because we went late, but we were warned. Minced chicken and goat are our usual purchases here.
I ordered spicy wings and jalapeno beef burger. The wings looked and tasted old, the batter was so chewy and weird, the meat itself tasted old, like they were refried or something. Burger was acceptable. Wings did ruin my mood. I am not eating there again. Also i dont think its a dining place, it smells of raw meat so you cant really sit there and eat
Visiting tayyibat is always a pleasant experience. Great food, great quality, serving size is more than what you pay for, hence very reasonably priced. The sitting inside is small, its half meat shop half restaurant. Everything here is halal including the meat shop. Love the cheese burger.
My favorite is the beef tikka kabobs. They are always super tender, cooked to my preference (medium rare). I have never found any gristle or fat, and they are so tender that if I didnt know better I would share they used filet mignon!! People who work there are super friendly and the place is kept really clean. I dont hesitate to recommend this place.
We ordered take-out from here, so I didnt get to experience the restaurant. But the food was so flavorful - great textures, great seasoning, and just a bit spicy. One of the best meals I have had in a *long* time!
The meat quality is bar none some of the best Halal meat in the bay area. The burgers are good and the kababs are OK as well. The seating is not particularly comfortable and of there with kids its difficult to give them their space. The food takes time to cook so either order ahead or plan on a bit of a wait. Friendly service and clean.
I’ve been working in town for a few weeks and was pleasantly surprised with the quality food, friendly service and great prices. Highly recommend this place.
Great food with a full butcher shop that can get you anything.
I Love thier food. But not all food is good. Once I troed whole chicken it was too dry that we coudnt even eat. But over good food.
I want to give - starsWe got meat 3 times and it was worst in taste and stale too...Not going to that shop
Had the double cheese burger. Excellent quality burger, made fresh. Open kitchen, very clean. Good natured, friendly staff, I enjoyed my visit very much. And of course, it is Zabiha halal.
The food is great, very tasty and well prepared. I love this place.
I had double cheese burger and spicy wings. They were delicious.
Place was kinda hot and the water had cucumber for some reason but the food was good so thumbs up for me 👍
Awesome food, great place if youre looking for fresh meat. Best halal meat available here. Amazingly fresh and no comparison with meat available in other halal stores.
The worst place I ever eat! The Kabab wasnt even cook and very hard I couldnt cut by knife. I wish they make change and care for their customers
Have been going here for years the HALAL meat is very high quality. Just tried the lamb tikka kabob today, It was on point.
Tasty kabobs and chicken rotisserie. They have raw chicken and steaks for sale too. $10.99 per pound of NY Sirloin. $12.99 per pound of NY Ribeye.
Great tasty food!!
Excellent food, freshly made and great flavor.
Grilled chicken and beef rice plates are very good here. They also have a butcher shop if you need to buy any meat.
Good food will come back and keep on coming back
Great kabobs and tikka. Ambience is not great for the price paid or else five stars.
I have bought whole chicken bags that were spoiled, old, stale from tayyibaat thrice!!! The third time I was super mad n complained about it to them.. all they said is sorry n not sure y it happened!! They seemed to be used to these kind of complaints .. good thing was they returned my money !! Now I don’t go to them at all.. pls be very careful when u buy something here ...
Its a hidden gem. True authentic middle eastern food. Its actually a butcher shop with few tables to sit and eat. I tried Chicken Tikka Kabob and Lamb Tikka Kabob, both were delicious.
Food is good. Not a lot of sitting place so better for takeaway.
The food is always great. I bit spicy but not too hot. I usually get the Beef Tikka kababs and as always they were tender. My favorite thing is the Bakhlava and the price is hard to beat. Usually crowded at lunch but for some reason today was quite empty. Besides pre cooked food, you can always pick up marinated meat to grill at home.
Wow, this place is full of surprises! I was in the neighborhood and was in the mood for some middle Eastern kabobs and found this place through Google. Its got good ratings so was expecting a nice restaurant.Surprise #1. Its not a restaurant.Surprise #2. Its not big; its a tiny hole in the wall place.Surprise #3. Despite the setting, the food is so good! The lamb tikka was well marinated, perfectly cooked, and tender and juicy. The rice is slightly flavored and savory. The mint sauce is very good. And that salsa! Yum yum yum on everything on the plate.Surprise #4. The bakhlava (round) is heavenly. The best one Ive had in my life. Had to get a second piece.Surprise #5. Even their free mint tea is tasty!
I have been going here for a cpl of years. Their meat is top quality and i always get what i want.Their food is amazing. They always serve with a smile and are very friendly. They go out of the way to ensure that u r satisfied. My fav is their Tikka kabobs-lamb and beef. They are the only place where you get a very good rotisserie which is juicy and has spices in it, not bland at all.Love their Afghan tea.Be sure to call them and order if u go there during lunch hour, they r packed!
It happened twice with me. First time, I bought some chicken and meat and when I got home (in less than 30 mins), and I opened the pack, the meat smelled stale. The smell was so horrible that my daughter who was sitting very far also complained. When I went to return, the guy on the counter accepted the fault and gave me a fresh one. I continued buying from them but not on regular basis. After an year or so bought chicken thigh quarters and when I got back home, again it smelled bad. I also noticed that some leg pieces had small green patches. When I took it back, the person on the counter started arguing that he doesnt smell anything bad and when I insisted to talk to the manager, he redirected me to a guy with beard as a manager but this guy was also rude. I was also losing patience now. I asked for money back and he refused. I didnt save the receipt and now he became adamant that he cant return money because there is no receipt. After a long struggle and when i started raising my voice in front of other customers (which I really hated doing) he returned the money. Not sure what kind of meat they cook everyday. Stopped going there.
This place is a butcher shop as well, so meat is fresh, and properly marinaded afghan style. Whenever im around here, I have to stop by.
Very high quality burgers ... Very friendly staff .....
I ordered them for goat chops in the morning and was told to pick it up after 3. I called back at 3 and they said it is being cut right now and we will be keeping it aside for you. However when I go to pick it up they said they have sold it to some other customer. Ridiculous attitude. Never going to this place again.
Worst service and no respect to cutomersI went to buy whole chicken and they sold a spoiled one which was from 2 days. Before taking i asked is it fresh? They said it was just cutted this morning. As i opened the packet at home it was smelling bad and stale. I went to return driving 10miles again and they just say sorry we are out of chicken with no cortursey or respect and behave as no fault. They lost my trust and not gonna go back.I dont recommend this place anymore.
They forced me to eat the rice with the chicken wrap and when I told them I dont want to eat rice with chicken, he said I took the money from the Visa card and I can not return the money to you,In addition the rice and braed were cold and no AC inside
Good food with great price. The chicken chili kabob is good.
The food was not badHow come they serve food and they don’t have a restroom for customers???!!!!!
Great food at great prices with super friendly staff
Our local butcher shop to buy fresh and top quality meat,
Amazing place for halal Mediterranean/Afghan food. Approved by Halal Advocates/HFSAA.
Front desk was very friendly, however chicken and lamb tikka were a bit overcooked, and the spicy wings were not fresh.
Kababs are always done well. Jalapeño burger is great. They have added Afghani burger, good choice.
Would definitely recommend the Roasted Chicken Wrap here!
Good rotisserie chicken. But the Price is Going Up and Chicken Size is getting smaller.
Chicken platter is totally worth it and sharable for 2... check in yelp to get free baklava
Great people. Great food. Awesome place!!!
I challenge you to find a better butcher, restaurant and people
Fantastic kababs. Get the marinated chicken if you want to try cooking at home, it is yummm
Went to buy goat meat it was mostly bones not worth 8.00 per pound i see now why the bag is red color to hide what they will give you anyways the resturant food is good
Super friendly staff and amazing meat
Best Kebabs & Rice!
Excellent food, and warm atmosphere
Great tasty food, modest prices.Seems to be halal food for those that matter.
You will get good halal meat.
The original location, amazing rotisserie chicken!
