We have a large dining room pedestal table - which we were prepared to throw out. The legs on both pedestals were cracked, loose, coming off and one of them was already laying on the floor - with table only still standing because at one end partially supported by pile of books on one of the dining room chairs. But we thought why not ask if it could be salvaged. Each of the people we spoke with or met from Rosini was responsive, polite, professional and had appropriate experience and expertise. Treated table with patience when pedestals could not be removed with whole table needing to go to the shop. Work was finished and table back to us in half the estimated time and the work looks beautiful. I believe that I have attached before and after photos.
John Rosini and his staff beautifully restored my grandmothers 1929 walnut Drexel vanity. He replaced the mirror, cleaned the hardware, fixed the drawers and restored the finish on the wood. The vanity looks even better than I had expected and the project moved along seamlessly. It was evident throughout the whole process that he understood how important and sentimental this piece is to me. John is truly an exceptional artisan!
We had a great experience with Rosini Furniture Services. John and Jamie are incredibly knowledgeable and did a beautiful job repairing and refinishing our old wooden dresser. We had no idea it could look as nice as it does now!
John arrived as planned and was very pleasant and professional. He took my table for refinishing expecting it to be returned in approximately one month. It was returned early, two weeks later, and looks beautiful! Jamie and Scott were both friendly and helpful even offering to move my chairs back in place. This was my first experience with Rosini and I have already recommended them to a friend. Thanks so much!
I have two chair with rush seats that were unsteady and the rush was wearing away . The chairs look like new and are very sturdy. He completely took them apart and reassemble d them. The wood looks so beautiful from the cleaning.I also had a cane seat replaced on a Hitchcock chair. He also repaired an old oak table that was wobbly and the latch did not work .It is quite stable now and the latch works. I can open and close the table without help now. This company does beautiful work and they take pride in .
John and his team did an excellent job restoring a dining chair for me. It was a challenging project - there were broken chair legs, split joints etc. It wasnt antique, but it was part of a set made of exotic wood and couldnt be replaced. They managed to save the broken parts, so that the look of the wood remained consistent, all other places I went to told me that parts would need to be replaced with newly fabricated ones. The whole job took about 3 weeks, which was fine, they were courteous and proactive from the moment I reached out via their website and throughout the process, gave me a quote over the email (based on photos), walked me through the likely process of restoration when I brought the chair in and let me know when the job was done. I paid half the original quote upfront and the balance on pickup. I had an opportunity to look around the shop while I was there - very professional setup, staffed with experienced tradesmen, lots of complex antique pieces being worked on, the results are pure masterpieces. Definitely recommend Rosini Furniture to anyone!
We used Rosini twice for 2 separate projects. The first was a restoration and refinishing of 2 dining room pieces. They did a FANTASTIC job!! Better than I would have ever imagined. They stained it to match our dining room table. It matched perfectly. The second time we used Rossini was to repair damage to our new dining room table because our puppies chewed and damaged the base. John came to do the repair. He was meticulous, professional quick and so nice. It looks fabulous like it was never damaged. I highly recommend them!!
I would like to thank Rosini for repairing the cane back on my chair. The quality of workmanship was excellent, the color matching was exact and your customer relationship was fantastic. I will be using Rosini for future projects and highly recommend them.
Prepare yourself to be amazed by the work of Rosini restoration services. I was blown away by the restoration that they completed on antique cabinet I inherited from my grandmother. When I turned over this cabinet, pieces were broken off, the glass was out of it and the outside was damaged. What they returned back to me looked remarkable and like a new cabinet. The men who came to pick up the piece were careful in removing the piece from my home as well as delivering it back. They treated this piece as if it were from their grandmother and they were worth every penny! I was close to tears. They possess a certain talent coupled with supreme customer service that is rarely found in todays world. I have a few more pieces for them!
Another disaster requiring Rosini Furniture to the rescue!I own a beautiful Chippendale-style dining room set that’s about 80 years old. I adore the furniture and really try to take good care of it. Unfortunately not once but TWICE, a dear neighbor who was over for drinks broke off a carved piece from the back of a chair. He’s not hefty; his physique just happens to apply pressure at just the wrong point. Anyway, he was surprised at my calm while assessing the damage. I explained that normally I’d need smelling salts, but I knew an expert craftsman who would repair the chair so well, no one would know it had ever been broken.I’ve used Rosini Furniture since 2018 and will NEVER go elsewhere. John is an artist. He has incredibly high standards for the work performed by his shop and it’s evident in everything he does. I’ve written several other reviews that describe extensive work he’s performed on my vintage furniture. Please take a look if you have time ... it may help convince you your furniture will be in the best hands possible because John is both highly talented and knowledgeable.P.S. My neighbor’s being downgraded to a folding chair from now on.
What a pleasure working with Rossini Furniture. Their work on the seat upholstery project for a chair restoration, I finally got around to, was well done. The help with fabric selection was spot on, and I was listened to when I made a suggestion. Professionals. What a nice experience
Amazing work! John was wonderful to work with and took the time to understand what we wanted down to the smallest detail. His work is exceptional. We had an antique sewing machine cabinet (with sewing machine) and a country dining room set (ash wood with hunter green base, 6 chairs with ash seats and hunter green backs (with spindles) and rungs restored to their original beauty. The craftsmanship is first rate. A great experience!
The seat of my 26-year old mahogany piano bench had several very visible scratches of varying lengths and depths. Rosini Furniture Service not only completely removed the scratches but restored the high gloss lacquer finish to its original state. Furthermore, the bench now totally matches the color and finish of the piano. The bench now looks like it just left the factory-amazing craftsmanship! The price was reasonable, and John and his team of craftsmen are professional and pay attention to detail. If I needed another furniture piece restored, I will be going straight to Rosini Furniture Service without hesitation. They are the best.
I had situation of a dinning table style that I liked but hated the wood color, I brought it to Rosini and John was able to conceptualize the color I was seeking.. Excellent vision of the color/work I wanted.. Work was done as planned exceeding my expectations .. I highly recommend using Rosini for any wood furniture stain color change and restorations..
Terriific job on a buffet and dining table. The buffet was damaged and it now looks new. John is an excellent craftsman; patient and a perfectionist. If you have quality furniture. Rosini is the gold standard.Highly recommended!
Rosini repaired four 30 yr old colonial wooden kitchen chairs that suffered seat splits from all day use during the pandemic working from home. Being unable to find similar chairs with carved spindles, I decided to repair them. Rosini provided a reasonable estimate of cost, explained the work required, and let me know whether the chairs were even worth repairing. I am pleased to say, they did a wonderful job regluing and reinforcing the seats. As an unexpected bonus, they touched up any nicks in the finish from years of use.The chairs look great and feel solid. I hope to get another 30 yrs out of them. Thank you Rosini for a job well done.
John is wonderful. The entire staff takes excellent care of sentimental pieces and restores them to their original luster. Expect fine craftsmanship from Rosini.
Amazing place! Brought in my dining room chair which I found hard a fracture in the wooden leg. I was scared these chairs are very expensive so I found rosini on google and got InTouch with Jaime. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. I brought the chair in, he gave me a price range which I thought was very reasonable, and I had the chair back in 4 days good as new and you can’t even tell there was a fracture at all. John the owner I met also very very nice and I was extremely impressed with this tennis collection and memorabilia. These guys were very honest, they charged me the lowest end of the price range they given me, they could have charged me the max and I would have paid it but they didn’t they were extremely honest and I appreciated that very much. That’s great business that will definitely make me a customer for life. Highly recommend them to any and all.
I have a cedar toy chest that belonged to my parents and came from my early childhood home. Over many years, it was moved from my childhood home to one apartment and then to another. It wasnt until before I moved recently that I opened the chest after probably many, many years. The hinge to the lid wasnt working properly but I was able to remove all the wonderful treasures that I found inside, in particular my brothers and my baby blankets in addition to linens that belonged to my parents from when we were very little, as well as some small childhood toys. Not only hadnt I opened the chest for so long, but I also never took care of it. I decided that the hinge should be fixed and that the chest should be given some well needed and deserved TLC for when I moved.John Rosini, the proprietor, came to look at the piece, and he examined every part of it and explained to me in detail what needed to be done (and what didnt need to be done) in order to maintain the structural integrity of the piece as well as preserve and maintain its original appearance. He treated and cared for it as a family heirloom, although until then I hadnt really considered it as such. He repaired the hinge, so that I can now properly open and shut the lid. He cleaned, treated, and polished the cedar wood in the most conservative manner possible in order to restore and preserve the original finish.John also bolstered each of the four legs and in addition applied a dome to the bottom surface of each leg in order to preserve and protect this portion of the chest.I was even impressed with and admired the way John carefully wrapped the entire piece in blankets both upon pick up and delivery of the chest. I believe John treated what I now consider an heirloom with the utmost of care from start to finish, and the piece looks beautiful and it functions well. Thank you.
Rosini did an Amazing job restoring my coffee table! I had a piece with a lot of history that I thought I would have to get rid of due to wear and tear - so thankful I brought the table to Rosini. Thanks again for saving my coffee table! It looks absolutely fantastic and we could not be happier. Look forward to seeing you for our next furniture project / restoration! Highly recommend.
These guys are wood artisans! Brought them a cracked antique dining room chair and they restored it like new. Still can’t find the original damage. So happy with the work!
I took two chairs to be repaired. The chairs required a decent amount of work because the backs were cracked and, one one chair, a piece of the back had broken off and been lost. As a result, as part of the repairs, a piece needed to be fabricated to replace the missing piece and it had to match the other chair. After the repairs were completed, the chairs were sturdy, looked so good that you couldnt even tell that a piece had been replaced, and the work done to repair the cracked backs was virtually invisible unless you already knew where the cracks had been. This was not the first time we took furniture to Rosini Furniture Service to be repaired and it likely wont be the last.
Found Rossini website on the Internet. Very good website. Contacted them and talked to John Rosini. Very pleasant. Had 2 dining room chairs and one other to be repaired.Perfect repair and done in a few days. I highly recommend them. They are fantabulous!!! And dependable and friendly!!!
Good customer service and I am happy with the results. I recommend Rosini.
John Rosini was very professional explaining all details of repair ensuring that the restoration was flawless restoring the table back to its original luster. I would highly recommend Rosini Furniture.
Wow! I brought an 18 th century humidor that had belonged to my father and was a mess in to restore. When I picked it up I couldn’t believe my eyes ! Rosini had done an amazing job restoring it . All the shelves and drawers worked and the finish was just beautiful! Thanks Rosini!
Very professional and work was perfect. Highly recommend
John Rosini is a true artist and professional. He repaired and reconditioned multiple vintage pieces for our high end residential interiors project, which were beautifully brought back to life while remaining true to their inherent selves. Our project would not have been as successful without his input and talent.
Very helpful and professional. Did very good work.
I am sooo happy with the work that John Rosini has done for me. After wasting time and money with a scam artist furniture repair man...I finally found a professional furniture repair service. He is responsive, honest and does great work!!! Trust Rosini Furniture Service with your furniture!!
After eight plus years, two middle slats our sette pieces separated. Without hesitating, John took them back into the shop and repaired them in one day! He did this free of charge and I didn’t even have ‘extended warranty coverage!’ They are extremely professional and do beautiful work.
John and team did a beautiful job restoring our hand carved end table carved by our grandfather in the 1930s. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the beauty and luster brought out by Rosini Furniture Service was more than we had hoped for. Really a wonderful job.
Incredibly easy to deal with, great workmanship. 5 stars from me.
They charged me husband $395 for mirror frame restoration and absolutely did nothing except clean the mirror and fixed a chipped wooden piece (less than 1inch). Please check with others before going there. We will not recommend our friends or family.
I broke an antique table with brass legs. They were very creative and smart in how they repaired it. They were friendly and professional and the table is as good as new. The price was very reasonable. I highly recommend them.
John and staff went out of their way and provide prompt and excellent results
They did a fantastic job restoring an old mid century end table. It looks brand new. The owner is extremely knowledgable. Craftsmanship like this does not exist is hard to find. Their prices are extremely reasonable too. I would highly recommend them for any type of restoration or rebuild. Thank you.
We had a family chair refinished by their business. The staff was very professional and attention to detail was great. I would highly recommend the use of their services. The chair looks fabulous....
To whom it may concern:If you are looking to deal with a consummate professional with a true love for his craft, then John Rosini is your man. Hes one of only a handful of furniture restorers / refinishers left on Long Island. His shop was always abuzz with workmen tirelessly toiling away, much like Santas elves. Id highly recommend him to anyone. Thank you.
Superior artisanship. Depth of knowledge and accommodating customer service. Strongly recommend for restoration needs. Very professional.
My caned dining chair looks brand new!
A large antique mirror was damaged during a recent move - Rosini did an excellent job with the repair. They were responsive and extremely professional. I highly recommend their services.

If I could give them ten stars I would. I brought a chair that has very sentimental value to my family that I had botched up. John repaired it like it is as good as new if not better!. He is truly a great craftsman and a really nice guy too. I’m going to be bringing him some more pieces that need fixing because I think that he can do anything! Great place!! Thanks Rosini Furniture!!! I’ll be seeing you again soon!!
Rosini was recommended to me via NextDoor.com when I posted about needing to find someone to refinish some small heirloom pieces of furniture. I couldnt be happier with the outcome. John and his team do amazing work - he refinished and reupholstered a chair, refinished two small end tables, a small bookcase and a needlepoint footstool. In addition, he had several pieces of glasses made to ensure the work was protected and I could actual use the items without fear of damage. John also created custom bench cushions that are absolutely beautiful - and the fabric choices I had were far and beyond what I expected (if you cant find a fabric in any of his books, you wont find one anywhere). John has been responsive, reasonable, timely and his work is worth every single penny spent. He brought my grandparents furniture back to life and I look forward to working with John again in the future for other projects.
Two years ago, I lost my sister after donating a kidney to her. She had owned a beautiful dressing table with a small bench; the uncle seat was covered in tapestry. The Queen Anne legs were completely broken on it, but the cherry wood had not a scratch.I decided to call Rosini Furniture and spoke with John, who was the owner. Although I would have given anything to have the bench repaired, the quoted price was too high. I told John that I just could not afford to fix it at this time. The next day, I headed back to Rosini to pick up the bench and found it completely restored. I explained my situation to them when John appeared and told me it was free of charge. He was truly touched by my story and knew how valuable it was to me. I had planned on giving it to my daughter so that she could cherish this beautiful set that belonged to my dear sister Loretta.John and his staff went above and beyond anything Ive ever experienced. He also told me how important family was to him, as Rosini is his family name.I would recommend John and Rosini Furniture highly with their caring, hard-working staff. They treat their customers with the respect they deserve.
Rosini Furniture Service Performed what I consider a miracle. The repair of my dining room arm chair was outstanding. The chair looks better than new. Thank you John, Not only do you do excellent repair but youre a pleasure to work with. I Highly Highly recommend Rosini Furnature.
I brought a German beer stein and a replica WWII airplane to John for repair. The beer stein is a family heirloom and the airplane is a highly regarded part of my husbands collection. Needless to say, I was very upset when both broke. Both items were expertly repaired back to their original condition and I could not be happier with the outcome. John and team were a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Rosini Furniture Service for repairs.
John delivered the dining room table that had been in my parents house for years to us today, and it looks spectacular! The detail work in this restoration is flawless. John really brought this beautiful old table back to life with a complete transformation. We couldnt be happier.
My wife and I had three chairs in very rough shape. John Rosini suggested having them French Polished and then recovered. The workmanship performed was beyond our expectations. We are both very pleased.
Rosini is the best in the business, thats all there is to it. My family has been taking our antiques to Rosini for years. They do a wonderful job every time. Most recently we took a dining room chair to be repaired. After they assessed the chair they explained the process of the reconstruction and the necessity of the repairs. They exceeded our expectations and the repair work was flawless. It was worth every penny!I highly recommend using Rosini, and as a side note if youre a tennis fan, they have an AMAZING showroom of tennis antiques and John is a true tennis historian.
My mother had always said that her parents 1953 Zenith TV console would make for a beautiful liquor cabinet… and with the help of Rosini Furniture Service we made mom’s words a reality.Rosini did an amazing job refinishing all of the wood and polishing up the brass handles too. They even added an adjustable wood shelf on the main level for glassware, along with a drawer for storage down below (where the TV speaker used to be). Most incredible to me… they kept in place the wood frame border where the TV tube was previously housed, giving it a TV/nostalgic/retro kind of look and feel. They even kept the ZENITH sticker/decal and also the ZENITH plastic logo intact on the front of the piece. … Lastly, and probably most awesome of all, they kept all 4 of the original TV knobs in place on the front of the unit… … talk about ‘attention to detail’!Now whenever I look at or use my “new” liquor cabinet I think of Mom, AND ALSO my grandparents… a win/win all around.Kudos to Rosini Furniture Service. And THANK YOU for a job VERY well done!Keith W.
I recently had a grandfather clock and eight old dining room chairs, which have been in the family for years, restored at Rosini Furniture Service in Mineola. The chairs were both upholstered and the wood was treated. The clock was damaged in transportation and was completely rebuilt. The work was done to perfection. Rosini is a third generation company specializing in antique furniture restoration and take great pride in the quality of their work. You can trust John Rosini with your antique family furniture.
Really special people and generous with assistance. I had a complex problem with a thirty year old marble onyx coffee table and John spent a great deal of time with me. Even though it didn’t make sense to perform the repair process, he explained thoroughly and provided multiple options for me. His level of expertise enabled me to understand the process and he even helped me to understand how to perform a self repair if desired . Truly a level of care and service uncommon in this day. Support staff followed up and were equally genuine and helpful. Rosini furniture repair is a great find.
Highly recommend !! I work for an interior design firm. We had a piece of custom furniture delivered that was damage - a black lacquer dresser with several scratches. John was very detailed and attentive at making the repairs. He cares about quality and doing the job right. The repairs on the dresser came out beautifully !
Repaired my kitchen dining room table. Top had broken off the support block. Had lost my wife 2 year ago and this table meant the world to me.They did a fantastic job. They delivered it the next day and helped me move it into my kitchen. They deserve 6 stars.
I had a wood dining room chair that cracked in half by the rear legs on both sides and they repaired it brand new you can’t even tell it was ever damaged very professional I recommend them for sure.
What a wonderful place and people to deal with. John was so helpful showing me material and explaining how they would rebuild my dining room chair seats. Just had them delivered and John installed the seats for me. I love the seats and they are so comfortable to sit on. Would highly recommend them to anyone who need to have their chair seats redone. I’ve also had them fix a broken chair and they did an amazing job. I’m so happy with their work. Thank you so much John.
My wife and i recently contacted Mr.Rosini to inquire about refinishing an antique birdseye dresser. We were pleasantly surprised by his knowledge and enthusiasm regarding furniture restoration and repair, His professional manner and courteous staff allowed our project to proceed without a glitch. The dresser now looks wonderful and we could not be more pleased with the fine work done by John and his associates.
We recently had a 30 year old dining room chair this is part of a six chair dining room set recaned .The back of the cane chair had a huge hole in it. Not only did John replace the cane back expertly but he was able to match the color of the cane exactly to the other chairs.in addition his concern and interest in providing me with the best possible service at a fair price, made him a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend anyone needing antique furniture restored speak with John and visit Rosini furniture service. P.S. his tennis museum is fascinating
My husband and I had a 1906 Carved Oak China Cabinet repaired and restored by John Rosini. He was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. The cabinet was given to my husband by his Great Aunt and it had been sitting in our basement for years. John knew exactly what to do to bring this beautiful piece back to its original beauty. I feel that John has a real love and appreciation for the pieces he works on. We are very happy with the results, the cabinet looks beautiful and is now in our dining room. Working with John and Carol was a pleasure.
John restored a 1930-era cabinet that was badly damaged by water. The work was done with craftsmanship and care. It was finished in a timely manner. As an added extra, John was a pleasure to deal with -- professional and courteous. Highly recommended.
I just received two pieces of furniture that were restored beautifully by John Rosini and his staff. Everything was done — from pickup to delivery— in a very friendly yet thoroughly professional manner. I heartily recommend Rosini Furniture Service.
I contacted John Rosini when my husband and I decided to restore quite a few pieces of old furniture that had been badly damaged after several moves and had been literally thrown in storage rooms for quite a few years.John was very patient with me from the beginning to the end. He came to our storage units, went through all the pieces, gave me detailed information about what could be done and at the end gave me pretty good estimates of the cost for each one of them. We decided to go ahead and restore more than ten pieces ranging from little side tables to big bureau, bed, sofa, buffet, dining table and so on. As the pieces were coming in the house one by one I couldn’t believe at my eyes. These were pieces that I didn’t think could to saved and I’m very glad John proved me wrong. Both my husband and I are very satisfied with the end result and it was worth every penny. On top of that, John and his crew are very nice, kind people and it was always very nice interacting with them. Totally recommend Rosini furniture for their services and I’m planning to visit them again for some more of our “stuff”!
John Rosini and his craftspeople restored my Aunt Celes Chippendale Console table, whose inners were in terrible disrepair. The table, built in the late 30s, or so, has been a treasured part of all our family holiday dinners since then, expanding to seat 12 people with all the leaves added. She is now back in great shape, and I look forward to a long and happy revival. I recommend Rosini for their knowledge, their fine work, and their great attention to detail. Thanks, John. The entire family is grateful.
I am very pleased with the work done by the team at Rosini Furniture. I recently inherited a china cabinet that was damaged in the move to my home. I was told by another repair shop that nothing could be done to repair the damage. I was ready to throw the piece of furniture out when I came upon Rosini Furniture. John was extremely helpful in explaining what need to be done and I am delighted with the finished product. The repair was not inexpensive, but it enabled me to keep a piece of furniture with great sentimental value. Worth every penny!
John and his Team are a pleasure and do fantastic work. The attention to detail and respect for the authenticity of the furniture is top notch. We had my husbands grandmothers tudor style buffet brought back to life with all its original charm. We are delighted. Fabulous team! Highly recommend.
John Rossini is a true craftsman. He did an excellent job of restoring our 100 year old rocking chair, hes extremely knowledgable and quite a tennis historian. An absolute pleasure to deal with and wonderful person. Highly recommend his work.
John was excellent to work with! Called with an issue and he tried his best to save me money by suggesting at home remedies, took the time over the phone to tell me what I need to do, while also offering to fix it if I preferred. Excellent service!
Our experience with Rossini Furniture was exceptional. My husband and I recently redecorated our dining room to have an elegant country style. However our beige traditional-looking breakfront was not going to fit with the new look. I called to Jon from Rossini, and emailed him pictures of country-style china cabinets we liked. They were white and more rustic, with an antiquing effect, and darker hardware. We asked if he could refurbish it to capture this look.John was terrific to work with from soup to nuts. He was punctual every step of the way. Jon was super attentive, and wanted to be clear about what we wanted, so he came to our house to see our traditional hutch in relation to the rest of the dining room. He said we needed to choose a white color that would match our dining room chair cushions, and that the color of the antiquing should match the wood on the chairs. A real professional. Our breakfront was just delivered (before Thanksgiving as promised) and we are absolutely blown away by how gorgeous it is. The workmanship is exquisite and the color choices are perfect for the room. Jon’s attention to detail was essential for making not only the piece look good, but making the room look amazing as well. There is such an elegance to the antiquing job that was done to it. The Rossini team captured the look that we envisioned perfectly. He has a great eye, and a very talented staff, and was wonderful to work with. I highly recommend them.
Rosini Furniture Services took excellent care of our furniture restoration needs. I would recommend them 100% and will use them again in the future. Thank you!
I found John through Google Maps. I brought an old oak table that had been sitting in a garage for over 70yrs. Most people would have thrown it out as junk, but John brought new life to it. The legs were hand cut and John cleaned each one and made them look elegant again. The top was unsalvageable, but John searched until he found a period top, complete with leaves! I couldn’t be happier with the work. It will last another 100 years. The other piece I brought to him was a decorative set of nesting tables. Once he restored it, the colors popped again and the wood became almost iridescent! I had no idea the tables were so beautiful. What a great surprise!I would highly recommend Rosini Furniture in the future.
John from Rosini Furniture Service was a pleasure to deal with. He did a wonderful job fixing my dining room table. I would definitely use his services again in the future!
Came upon an antique card table in disrepair. We contacted several furniture companies for feedback and estimates. We chose John with no hesitation because of his specific knowledge of the piece and the work that had to be done (through emailed pics of the table). John did amazing work and repaired the table for us. He was able to identify the table as an 1880 piece made in Austria. We were impressed with his work and the knowledge of his craft. We would highly recommend Rosini Furniture Services to anyone needing this type of work.
John Rosini & his team are superb craftsmen/artisans and you will be more than totally satisfied with any furniture restoration they perform. The greater the damage to your piece, the more amazed you will be with the end result. You will probably have to wait longer than you’d like for the work to be done, (although John will be honest about the time-frame with you) and you might have to wait for replies at times (although you will get a reply), and you won’t get away cheaply. But then, considering the quality of the workmanship and the demand for his team’s services, you shouldn’t be surprised by any of that.Update to original posting: All work is now finished. They have beautifully restored two small antique chests for us, beyond our expectations. John offered extensive suggestions on fabric choices and finish for two mid-century modern pieces (armchair and storage headboard) and, after forty years against a damp basement wall, a very badly moisture-damaged oak desk of great sentimental value now looks glorious, better than it ever did before being stored & forgotten. We’re very glad we found Rosini Furniture Service — and so will you be, too!
This is exactly what I want when looking for a company to fix an antique item of furniture -- or really, any wood that needs updating and repair. In my case, they took two antique chairs that were quite beat up, gave me an approximate valuation of the chairs (so I would know if I wanted to do the repairs), and I gave the go-ahead.They did a superb job in hiding or fixing scratches and bruises in the wood and discoloration in the finish, and they repaired two broken parts of the wood in one chair that had structural damage. That chair is now as good as, or better than, new in terms of structural integrity. The owner John is friendly and knowledgeable, and they have an excellent small team there. The work as completed left the chair looking as it would if it had never been damaged (say, 98%) and I am very happy with their work, their ability to explain, and the reasonable price for the work done.
I had several old pieces of furniture in need of repairs; several chairs, a chest, a decorative table, footstool and bench all needed re-conditioning, rebuilding and/or reupholstering. John came and gave an estimate (which was right on target minus one small change) and carefully carted everything away. I have most pieces back and am thrilled at the quality of the repairs. John and Carol were a breath of fresh air in comparison to the renovation hassles we all go through, this was one piece of the puzzle that was smooth, straightforward and worth the cost.
Our dining room table was used as a chew toy by our new puppy. The beautiful ornate scrollwork on the pedestal was destroyed. John and his staff did an amazing job hand carving new pieces that made the table look like new. True craftsmen are hard to find these days. We are lucky to have found Rosin Furniture.
Rosini and Co. are true masters of their craft. I brought them an end table that had been in my family for over a hundred years. The piece was repaired, refurbished and brought back to life ensuring the piece will be in the family another hundred years. Their professionalism, craftsmanship, and attention to customer service is unmatched. It was truly a pleasure meeting John and everyone else at Rosini. Theyre my only choice for any future furniture repair work and should be yours too. Bravissimo Rosini and thank you for the great service and work you did for my family and me.Ray
I had heard and read great things about Rosini Furniture Service, and when it came time for me to restore some inherited furniture, I called upon John and Carol Rosini, and I couldnt be happier with my decision. They, their workers and shop, and finished results were absolutely terrific! John is incredibly knowledgeable in all period pieces and is an amazingly skilled restorer, and Carol effortlessly coordinated the whole process from furniture pickup to final delivery. And both were available to me to answer all my many questions. To date, John has restored my grandmothers antique desk, two bureaus, two bookcases, one drop-leaf table, a bedside table, coffee table and rocking chair. All came out beautifully! Also, John made a few house-call repairs that involved fixing glass secretary cabinet doors, dining room hutch drawers and polishing/restoring many antique brass handles to a high sheen for me. Both John and Carol are lovely people to work with, and their craftsmanship is superb. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
I just had my grandmothers turn of the century pedestal dining room table fixed by John and his team. They came, picked it up, took it back to the shop, repaired it and brought it back the next day! They are the nicest people to do business with, I feel like they cared it belonged to my grandmother and I think shes smiling! Thank you so much!
I had two pieces of mid-century pieces restored recently and I am thrilled with the results. One piece was a walnut dining room table with a rosewood center, and John did a deep cleaning and polishing on it that makes it look gorgeous, like new but not too new; it looks exactly as it should look. I was happy that the job did not require stripping as I feared it might, just some serious TLC. The other job was to repair some veneer damage on a walnut chest of drawers, a repair that I honestly did not think could ever be done properly, but was done absolutely beautifully, with Johns superb skilled craftsmanship as well as artistry. The man knows his craft and his subject and is a perfectionist; he takes his time and does wonders with much-loved furniture. Thank you very much!
John and his staff were professional and pleasant when I first dropped off our family treasure. The caned seat and back, of greatgrand mother’s knitting rocker recently suffered a broken seat and torn back. The piece had been cared for for over 100 years, and now needed repair by someone who knew how to do the work, and have the heart and soul to understand our feeling for this old dowager. We knew the caning would need to be replaced, but we did not want the piece refinished. John understood completely. He told us what he could do and how he would price the work. Recaneing is slow precise work. Both the back and the seat each had over 90 ports through which at least 4 pieces of caning needed to pass. The artisans took their time and did the job right. We are delighted with the results.Already four generations of women have knit in this rocker. I contemplate the day it will one day grace the home of the soon-to-arrive great granddaughter for whom I am currently knitting yet another blanket.Thank you John and staff for allowing us to carry on the legacy.
Has EVERYTHING you look for when it comes to furniture. Professionalism, timely, knowledgeable, fair priced. Beyond happy with any of my projects that we do here.
John Rosini has restored and refinished several of my familys pieces, some dating to 1890. He is careful in understanding how I want each piece refinished. I have never been disappointed. Magnifique!
We had a cabinet door that was broken in two pieces. Rossinis repair was so good that you cannot see the crack at all! It looks brand new. They were a pleasure to deal with and I would use them again.
Moving is always stressful, and when things get damaged in the move, it becomes more stressful! Rosini Furniture came to the rescue, with great service, reasonable turn around time, and pleasant people to deal with. On a scale of 1 to 10, they get an 11!
Rosini furniture was terrific. John was professional and quickly solved my furniture problem. I would highly recommend.Kathy
My home flooded recently, and several pieces of antique furniture were damaged during the move into and out of storage. John Rosini came to my home to assess the work, and he patiently explained how each piece would be repaired plus the timeframe for doing the work. He followed up with a detailed, written estimate for my records. I was so impressed with his expertise that I decided on the spot to have less urgent work done on other antiques.I really appreciated Johns candor. He advised that a number of requests were ahead of me, but he squeezed in the most urgent repairs right away. Then he gave a realistic start date for the next round of work and arrived on schedule with his expert associate Carlos. Whatever work could be done on premises was taken care of that day, and done beautifully. A sturdy 1930s French country bed frame that weakened from extensive handling is now better than ever. Two French country side tables with damaged legs have been repaired expertly and nicks in the wood of other furniture have been touched up so no one can tell the pieces had been scratched and dented. Other pieces were taken back to the shop with a promise of 2-3 week turnaround. And again, John was right on schedule. The last round of repairs will begin next week. Most importantly, the quality of Johns and Carloss work is unparalleled. They are true artisans, who strive for perfection in a way thats not seen very often these days. I feel so fortunate to be using their services. I know you will too!
Had the caneing on one of our six dining room chairs replaced because it had a hole in it. Rossini did a great job installing the new caneing andmatching the finish so we cant tell which chair had been repaired when they were placed around the dining room table. We were originally told it would take 2 to 3 weeks for the repair but the job was completed in 11 days. We would use Rosini for any future repairs we may encounter.
They do great work and very nice staff, I recommended if you have any antiques or furniture repair
Many years ago, when my parents moved to Florida, I ended up with a round lamp table that stood in our living room for as long as I could remember. My Mother told me if I would ever have the table refurbished, to use Rosini (who then had a location in Forest Hills, Queens).Flash-forward 20+ years. Thanks to the web, it was a cinch to track down Rosini Furniture Services in their newer location. I email photos of the table to which John Rosini quickly responds that it is a Weiman Lamp Table. Darned if he wasnt correct! I immediately look for a marking and low and behold, there is a Weiman label on the underside of the table.Promising my Mom that I would have Rosini work on the table should the time come, it is clear to me that she was one smart woman. The table just arrived back home today (2 weeks ahead of schedule -- thanks, John!) and it is simply stunning. I could not be happier in regards to the workmanship, and customer service I received throughout this process.Having had a very negative experience with another re-finisher (used because they were sent to me via the furniture manufacturer), I do not sing Rosinis praises lightly. Furniture re-finishing and refurbishment is truly a craft, and Rosini Furniture Services excels at that craft. They will be refinishing another table for me in the very near future. Thanks, Rosini Team!Susan W.
Great work. They really know furniture.
A plumbing leak which led to a collapsed ceiling in our dining room resulted in severe water damage to our English Regency Dining Room Table and Queen Anne Chairs. Judged irretrievable by the people we had bought the set from, our insurance company suggested we give Rosini Furniture Service in Mineola a chance after they said they thought they could restore and save this gorgeous mahogany set. We were skeptical given the original sellers opinion but they took the job on at their risk. We can only judge the restoration they accomplished as SPECTACULARY SUCCESSFUL. Frankly, we are not sure the table and chairs looked this good when we bought them. The restoration is flawless and the finish so deep and perfect, i could use the table as a mirror to shave. One last thing, really nice people to work with. John Rosini himself involved all the way from pickup to progress reports to delivery and reassembly.
Great serviceFantastic resultsNice people!
