Best place to bowl when you know the deals for unlimited game nights. Definitely recommend during those times.. its worth every strike!!
Jim Lizzo is a great ambassador for bowling. He is always offering great advice on how to get better and improve your game. He always is professional and is just a nice person overall.
Had the best experience with Jim. Would definitely recommend to a newbie or a pro! Will return 🤘
Poor customer service here. Small shop, long waits and does not even greet the customers waiting or even acknowledge them. Constantly doing things in the shop and outside the shop when there are customers waiting. He loves to talk though but maybe should consider a little less story time when there are customers waiting to be helped for over 30 minutes.I will not be returning here for any service or purchase needs.
Jim, the owner, is an honest man and knows the sport hands down. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable. The selection is wide and he will get whatever he doesnt have in stock quickly. Nice guy, good prices and expert advice; a bowler couldnt ask for more.
I suppose that I should update my review now that Ive actually bowled here, no? well, based on a night of bowling, Astoria Bowl is awesome.very relaxed 80s/90s outer-borough bowling alley vibe. I had flashbacks to countless birthday parties I attended at Melody and Maple Lanes growing up in Brooklyn; theres definitely that aesthetic still in effect here, which was great. and they were playing a great mix of 80s and 90s rock tonight too. Scorpions! Bon Jovi! Def Leppard! Whitesnake! Metallica! hell yes!equipment is maintained well, and bowling is pretty inexpensive. Yelp check-in deals, various coupons/group rates, hell theyre frequently on Groupon and similar sites too. I think we paid $32 for two of us to play an hour and for shoes.the bar has a solid list of dependable beers and liquor, and prices are cheap.only minor drawback is that its a schlep from the nearest subway - the very end of the N train is still a good mile away, so my hatred of winter meant that we Uberd over from the other end of Astoria. plenty of Ubers in the area because of LaGuardia airport being close by, though.Ill be back.
