First time inside this store and was very impressed with the huge selection of boating or Water Needs!!! The staff was super friendly and was not pushy at all when I was there. I came in just to look around and the staff told me to just ask them if I needed help with anything. The amount of parts you can find would cover about ninty percent of the boats in minnesota so I guarantee you will find what you need for your boat. They were able to have in stock most working year boats ranging from around the 1950s all the way to the Present year! After I could not find what I needed at the hardware stores Im very pleased to know this place will definitely have what I need for any remaining one off items made for boats. This was the store I have been looking for while replacing the interior of an older 1980s boat. The location of this store is perfectly in the middle of the west side of the surrounding area west of Minneapolis. I would recommend this store to anybody looking for boating parts and accessories, most of the boating accessories can be swapped to your car during the winter months and the lakes are frozen. With a selection of premium marine audio to top of the line kayaks, boards, and skis to engine props, cup holders,, and boat plugs. 5 STAR BOATING STORE!!!
They didnt even have the courtesy of answering their phone. I called eight times. So I drive 12 Mikes to ask why. Older gentleman said, I guess we were too busy. What happened to customer service? So I procided to the parts department. Young guy helped me a lot!BUT.West marine was out of stock for five items I needed. So so sorry wont be back.Signed concerned.
Excellent place! Found what I needed on 2 different occasions when no other place had it. The employees were so very nice also. Thank you.
Wow. Going downhill fast. 10 staff and 2 customers in store. No greeting. Ignored at checkout. Boxes everywhere and out of stock on basic stuff like oil and filters. And dont even try to call the parts dept. Never answer. I guess amazon wins again
Decent products but mediocre customer service. I went in to get a setup for a new boat and the employees were either not knowledgeable or not willing to help. Seemed aloof. Google ultimately guided me through what I needed but definitely didnt get the expert advice I was looking for. Ill likely take my business elsewhere or online in the future.
They ignored me completely while I searched for shaft grease. I finally found it after about 10 minutes. Also, their POS system is antiquated.
Great products. Their fiberglass Stain remover was amazing.

Scott there helped me find the parts for my pelican paddle boat. I would highly recommend them for ANY boat needs. Thank you Scott.
Very nice, helpful staffing and alot of options.
Super helpful! They really go out of their way to help you find exactly what you need.
Boat supply superstore. They have everything that you could need and if it isnt there it can be ordered and shipped to the store within a few days. I wish there were more around the twin cities so I didnt have to drive so far.
These guys are always willing to go out of their way to help you. Today I needed a gallon of bottom paint. There were two cans somewhere inside four pallets of a shipment. Scott went out of his way to go through all the pallets to find the can of paint I needed.
I placed an online order for a product that was in stock 1 month before a trip. When I went to check out there was a small note that said part of my order was fulfilled by vendor, shipping typically takes 2 to 3 weeks. The first part of my order shipped right away and the second part did not. After 3 weeks I called to find out where the second part was and they told me the vendor did not have them in stock and they did not have an exact day that it would be back in stock. I asked if we could set up expedited shipping so that hopefully it would still arrive before my trip if it did become back in stock and they said I could do that for a large fee. They were not willing to help or come up with a solution to my problem, now its too late to use another option and i wont have any electronics for my trip. If you or the vendor dont have parts in stock there should be a clear note stating its back ordered and no available ETA
Was supposed to open at 9am. Opened 25 minutes late. Also, the stock inventory was low. I got what I needed.
Great place to get nautical supplies
Amazing service and everyone was very helpful they had everything we needed
Terrible customer service. i called looking for pontoon parts and they guy acted like i was off base calling a boat supply store for pontoon parts.
I needed to get some new battery cables. The employees were very helpful, and let me use all there tools to cut the 2 ga wire and crimp on terminals. It was a huge relief that I could just get it all done in the store.
If you need boating supplies, parts accessories or even boating knowledge this is the place.
Dont buy their boat wax/cleaner. Its cheap watered down product that doesnt even buff out waterspots. Go somewhere else & buy 3M.
I’ve never seen so many empty shelves in a store that wasn’t going out of business. Maybe they are I don’t know. Don’t waste time going in there. They won’t have what you are looking for. Order online or use Amazon.
Staff are good people. Prices still way too high. But I suppose the need to pay for the brick and mortar. Check on line elsewhere 1st.
Great service. 4 stars just for lack of kayak merch
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great inventory.
As always, the staff are knowledgeable and eager to help. Ive never left the store without a solution to what I needed to get done on my boat.
Best place for serious quality
Wonderful place to shop! Need a buff? Check. Hat? Check. Polarized sunglasses? Check. Even reef-friendly sunscreen! And excellent help as well. We had a great experience here and would recommend it to anyone.
Was ignored so I bought what I needed elsewhere
Not good website said nine n stock got there zero in stock gas cap for boat fuel tank model #13099544 what has happened to customer service store needs management badly
Painted me right to the transducer I needed and had a large stock them when no other stores in the state do
They never have what I need...
Good quality boat and marine components here. Friendly staff.
Great place to get your boat needs taken care of.
Great store. Well laid out with all your sailing needs. Staff is helpful. Easy on/off from 394. Good parking. While West Marine has everything, and is good quality, I still think they are high-priced.
Store is nice with nice selection. But, Everything seems overpriced though. Better off ordering online elsewhere if you dont need it right away.
Good place to go for a wide variety of marine supplies. The staff are generally very experienced and can help you quite quickly find what youre looking for, plus give very well-informed advice. Its easy to get to, near to a large shopping mall and accessible. Its a Well laid-out store, very modern with plenty of space to Rome. Good selection of hard Goods as well as clothes and shoes.
I got some 2 stroke oil 2 for one sale. Good prices, great service.
Poor customer service and everything is out of stock. Don’t waste your time!
One young man was working hard, woman at front on phone a Long time. The manager came out not very friendly, acted like he was put out. There were customers needing help looking for help. We found are items elsewhere half the price. Good thing Im not the manager.
Whenever I go here there are more employees in the store than customers, yet somehow there’s never anyone who can help me. The only reason I go to this store is to talk to someone who can help me get the right things for my boat, but if they can’t do that then I’ll just order them online in the future. Also their prices can be pretty ridiculous, even Reef sandals cost more here than other places.
Competitive pricing; not their forteCustomer service; not their forte eitherBoth of my last experiences involved a phone call prior to going all the way out there. Both ended with them directing me to shop online or to Sail Crafters. Neither involved any acknowledgement of the wasted time.I will not shop there anymore. There are better places.
Never purchasing anything from this place again. I bought a transducer through their website and they doubled charged me for it. Called customer service to see what they could do about it. They said sorry about it and said ill have the money back in my account in a week...... thats the best and only thing they could do. What a joke, I could have bought the item from many other online retailers (west marines was cheapest by 4 bucks) but went with west marine. I hope have to wait a week to get money i should have never had to spend in the first place. And customer service just said sorry but its out of our hands. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING HERE AGAIN. Buyers be warned
Avoid if you’re a woman, unless you want to be talked down to by rude staff trying to justify their lack of knowledge and merchandise. I own five watercraft (and yes they are mine alone) and have been boating for 40 years; I know what I’m talking about and what I’m looking for. West Marine is losing my business after many years of loyalty. Will be ordering everything on amazon from now on and steering clear of their disrespect.
Helped me return an item and gave me no hassle about it. I’ll be returning for future boating needs!
Super friendly staff. Knowledgable and helpful. great if you need something today but theyll also order in for you.
Convenient spot for good boat supplies. Good inventory, great staff.
This place consistently comes up short. This is my third visit and this is their strike. Im out never to return. Strike one: attempted to get expert assistance selecting a VHF radio only to be met with typical untrained retail help, shrugging shoulders and mumbling, the guy that knows this stuff isnt working today. Strike two: As I walked in, music was BLARING from a stereo system on display, clearly for the benefit of the staff. Strike three: completely out of lower unit gaskets for Yamaha motors as well as several other selections. Its Spring. People are working on boats. You are a marine store. You are inadequate. HELLO AMAZON! I can wait two days and skip this hot mess of a retail experience. Buh-bye.
They definitely had what I needed in terms of sailing gear but the store felt a bit overwhelming and surprisingly stale/cold/uniform...Despite that, the staff was above average in terms of helpfulness and friendly to boot.
Great place for boat supplies.
Well equipped boat and marine supplier. great local source for sailing supplies and equipment as well as needs for power boats.
I stopped here before every single sailing race. Very helpful and friendly staff. Should carry more Henri Lloyd in smaller sizes.
Service is awful it is alright to charge more if you give good service but I wasted 45 minutes and walked out this was my forth visit and will never go back. talked to two people at the store neither would help me, people wonder why stores close, if I wanted it cheaper I can buy online.
They claim to carry yamaha ring free fuel additive and do not. They do not carry synthetic 2 stroke oil.
Your phone system does not work. no matter what key i press it repeats the same message.
Have everything needed for expert boat repairs, maintenance, toys, and clothes. Everything boats or if it floats. Marine stuff is expensive anywhere. Deal with it. But this place will have it. More stuff than anywhere else in west Twin Cities
Great service, from knowledgeable staff.Only 4 Stars as you didnt have type of wire connectors I need.
Great place for many boating items. Helpful staff.
Large selection.
Good selection of sailing equipment and other boat stuff
Price Match Guarantee! West Marine will not be beat on pricing. Great Service and Staff!!! Lots of products to choose from!!!
Phoned, determined part needed, was ready and waiting for a speedy checkout
Was able to order everything I needed! Thanks Guys!
Always get good service. The employees are all willing to help find exactly what you need.
Great place. Knowledgeable staff.
Has everything you need for any boat and the prices are very fair
Close to home, prices are a little on steep side. Bought fuel filter, was going to buy 50 amp circut breaker but was $59. Got home bought identical breaker $24 free shipping from Amazon
They are always helpful for items I need for my and other boats I service.
Shelves always half empty.
Poor service and no supplies. Inventory back log.
Helpful staff, usually have it can get what I need. Prices are pretty high though
Has a monopoly on boat repair supplies in the MPLS locale, but you will pay for convenience. Staff is not helpful or knowledgeable. Called store to verify they had fiberglass I needed and Jason couldnt afford me the time of looking up any particular information over the phone, basically said I need to come out there. I recd the impression I wasnt big enough fish to concern him with the deets. The mark ups on general supplies are crazy and Id advice looking at HD/Ace or an auto parts store for general repair supplies like Acetone or poly resin. That said West Systems 105 epoxy and lots of their other house brand product is great.
Its the ultimate toy store for boat owners.
Great selection of boating gear.
Seem to always have the hard to find hardware bits for my sailboat.
Advertising bait definitely not a bait store
Nice store. Very helpful.
Good variety. Pricy compared to online stores, but they stock many items.
I needed help on refinishing an old wooden boat. The staff was very helpful.
First time here, will be the last. Had an employee go look for some grease that was in stock. He decided to go help other customers after about 30 seconds and left me waiting for too long. Didn’t even acknowledge me. Will go somewhere else
This store has great marine products.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff with a wide selection of products. I will be back
Decent selection of parts, but the store is eerily quiet.
Great and helpful sales people.
A bit pricey but it’s great to have local products at my fingertips.
Wonderful service all the time!!!
Helpful Staff, mostly great selection of common parts
Helpful folks
Cool store, had everything for our boat
Had everything I needed for winterizing my boat at a decent price!
They had everything I needed for my fiberglass camper top repair!
The salesman Greg was very friendly! Along with the other salesman who came from in back to help me with rope.
Selection but no deals or value buys.
Good stock, helpful staff.
Helpful
Amazing customer service
Expensive, but excellent selection and service!
