They were so friendly, helpful and kind. They offered to help me carry my items to the cashier as my hands were full of skates! They had an excellent selection of high end figure skates. They were attentive and kind. They also offered an exceptional return policy for a consignment store, any return within 15 days of purchase for full store credit!! I was overjoyed to and refreshed to shop at this local business with kind people and exceptional customer service! Thank you again🙏😊

Warning: I came in to get my skates sharpened, obviously expecting to get my own skates back— but I got someone else’s skates and mine were lost. Never once did play it again sports apologize, and this situation was poorly managed. Everyone makes mistakes, but as a business, they should be prepared to adequately rectify the situation, (compensating the cost of new skates) which they did only partially. I am very disappointed, and this establishment has lost my future business.

Im not even sure how to rate this store. Its Covid days here these days so people want to be outside. The stock was limited and the staff were as helpful as they could be given the circumstances. I was instructed by staff to not put any item that I wanted, down anywhere, for any amount of time or someone else would take them. Lol. I got something similar to what I actually wanted. The whole experience was just ok. Ill go back if I have to.

I came looking for ice skates for myself and my male partner. They had plenty of mens options but their selection of womens skates was definitely lacking. They had a few types of figure skates and one option for hybrid skates that started at size 8. I guess women can only figure skate!

Significant COVID risk. I showed up at 3 pm ish on Saturday with my kid to get some skates. The store was super crowded with low ceilings and poor ventilation. My initial plan to get in and out quickly failed because a) its really hard to find what is when you are there for the first time, skates were at four different locations and b) the checkout was endless. One cashier fending off questions, buying, and selling. Line was winding through rows of shelves, no social distancing to speak of, everybody annoyed. Yes, masked, but home brew masks are not magical. That cured me from going to a retail store in pandemic.

I was pleasantly surprised by the options for new and used winter skis and skates.

Helpful staff and great selection. My six year old daughter wants to get into ice skating so I was able to find a used pair of skates that wouldnt break the bank, and also found a pair that I will return to buy if she decides to continue skating.

Got 2 hockey set ups for my kids. All the gear other than skates and sticks. Good prices on used gear and staff was helpful. Under 100 per setup after I was done.

Love it! The people who work here are very helpful. They always welcome me right when I come in and help me find exactly what Im looking for. The prices are usually lower than expected. Makes shopping for kids sports gear very easy and fast. Definitely check here first before your buy new, even if you have to drive a ways.

The staff at this location where are so amazing and helpful. My son needed cleats and shin guards and gloves for soccer and they went above and beyond and helping us making sure everything fit right and was the right thing we needed.

They have a good selection of equipment. During the winter they have good prices on skates. They have a good amount of frisbee discs also.

Not one of the three people working welcomed me into the store or helped me find the gear I was looking for. The two women working the checkout just kept chatting. Sadly Ill be going to another sporting goods store to get proper customer service and gear even if I have to pay more for it.

I used to work for PIAS in the late 90s. The motto then was great customer service. Apparently that has changed at this particular store. They no longer are willing to haggle on the price of USED equipment. Attempted to buy a couple of travel golf bags. The hardshell was priced reasonably as a used item. The softside was priced as a new item, although it was obviously used. I asked for a discount and was flat out denied. I have been to other PIAS stores in the TC area and know that they are owned by different people so maybe it is an owner thing, but to not negotiate on used items, and I wasnt asking for the store, is stupid, counterproductive and poor customer service, particularly when the used item is well overpriced as compared to new.

Amazingly large selection. Unfortunately staff are few and far between, and too busy talking to each other to help. I found my roller blades myself and had to flag someone down to check out. Regardless, they had an unrivalled selection that I would return to.

Only place I bring my skate for sharpening. It is perfect every time. Also great selection of used equipment.

Walked in directly to the desk, there were three or four employees standing around. Most of them scattered when we walked up, I told the two people left standing there what I needed. The lady said yep and turned her back, the young man begrudgingly took us over to the area of stuff we needed. Didnt ask if we wanted new or used. I mentioned we were new to the sport, but he didnt really have suggestions as to what we might need. They might make more sales if they at least pretend to want to help their customers.

What a horrible experience! My family was in today with the intention of buying over $100 worth of merchandise. After receiving absolutely no help in an almost empty store and wandering around finding our items, our 4 year old asked to use the bathroom. We were very rudely told that the restroom was not for customer use under any conditions. We put everything back and left. This store wont be getting my business!

The value proposition is a bit of a mystery to me. Before the internet and Craigs list and all of the person to person apps maybe this made sense. But the cost for retail space and employee wages inflates the price on 2nd hand equipment. Value is hit or miss in my experience. I went there for example recently for free weights and they ran about 0.56 cents a pound. Thats half what you would pay new. But also 2x-3x what you would pay on Craigs list. That said, hockey sticks at the end of the season can be a pretty good deal. And you are crazy to buy a new baseball bat- there are decent options at PIAS. Skates can be a decent deal too if you hit the store at the right time. I do like that they will wheel and deal with you! The guys working there always tend to be friendly and helpful where they know something about a sport and its equipment.

For the lower end used skates, once you factor in the cost of sharpening it makes more sense to buy new at a big box or online.

Just like some of the other reviews, when my kids and I walked in nobody welcomed us or even offered to help. I had to Google all my questions to figure out what I needed.We were the only ones in the store and the 3 employees that were there were just standing around at the register talking to each other. Will not go there again

I went in to buy used skis for my daughter. They told me they had a 14-day return policy. It turned out that the skis had weird bindings and I couldnt find boots that works, so I took them back after 4 days. They then told me that since they sold us used skis—we hadnt used them—they would only offer store credit and not a refund. There was a sign on the counter, but I didnt see it when I paid and the guy who told me 14-day return policy didnt mention that it was only good for store credit. Will never shop there again.

The few times I have gone into this store I get horrible help from the staff, if any at all. Today I went in with the intention of buying used ice skates, the salesman helped me try on one pair, was pulled away from a co-worker, but said hed be right back, but never came back....as I walked out he was doing something else.
