My son turned me on to these donuts several years ago. Jim and Ann are dedicated to there art! I believe the glazed donut is the true judge of a quality donut. Simple, yeast risen, fried to a light crisp, lightly iced. No room for hiding mistakes or shortcuts. It was shortly after the first bite that I exclaimed, These are the best glazed donuts in North America! I was so impressed I had some t-shirts made, with Jims permission. I try to wear it whenever I get donuts, which doesnt seem to be often enough. Have cash and call your order in the night before. If you get a hot glazed, you might as well ask Jim for an apprenticeship, because you wont want to leave. All made by hand, the dough is too soft to go through a machine. I am not a morning person so I rarely get to visit any donut shops. I prefer the no chain type places when I do go out. I have been a fan of John Space Aged since my teens but its been closed for few years now. I would say fluffy Fresh is right up there with Johns. Fluffy Fresh just has basics but they do them right!!!! They do cash only, they dont do social media or anything requiring technology but if the donuts are this good who cares about technology. The owner helped me the day I visited and she was very sweet and kind. They do run out quick so get there early!!

The best kept secret in Kansas City.Theres a magical experience to the fluffy texture. It almost automatically puts a smile on your face. They might be sold out so get their very early ( 8 AM). Bring CASH.

What a cute little hole in the wall! Before warned, they absolutely do not accept any credit or debit cards so make sure you bring some cash with you. And make sure you get there early! Ive been there three or four times now all around 8:30 and usually all they have left are some long johns, cinnamon twists, and a few cake donuts here and there. Hands down the best donuts in KC and honestly anywhere in the United States. I scout donut places when I travel and nothing beats Fluffy Fresh. Highly recommend to anyone and you must go to the mission location. Everything is done by hand and all products are made from scratch.

We were spoilt by the legendary John’s Spaceage in downtown OP (RIP😕), but the fluffy fresh treats are every bit as good at this small, no-frills mom-&-pop store. Flaky-coated glazed (with a bit of vanilla?) are just great, but so is everything else too. Despite other reports the “no cards” sign is still up, so probably safest to still bring the folding stuff. I bought 15 glazed + a maple longjohn for $13😳. Great donuts at a great price.

Visited before 7 A.M. on a Tuesday. Had very little to choose from. Glazed left a film on the roof of my mouth. I travel a lot and always try to find the best donut shop in whatever city I happened to be. For traditional donuts, Gibsons in Memphis is still the high bar. Duck Donuts for gourmet. The best I have found in KC is Hanas. The 2 glazed I bought at Fluffys are in the trash. YUCK!!

Been coming here for years. I have stopped for donuts all over the country. I have never found a better donut than Fluffy Fresh! They are crispy of the outside and literally fluffy on the inside. Glazed & any flavor of long john are just unbelievably good. They make their own chocolate to cover the donuts....just go. Forget all the others in town.

A modest storefront contains delicious local treats. Fluffy Fresh doesnt overly sugar their glazed donuts, which is terrific because you get a stronger flavor balance. The owners are friendly, and offer free coffee, which was a fresh strong brew. Would definitely like to come back to taste their other donut options.

This place has the best donuts Ive had in the entire United States. I am not speaking hyperbolically. I have tried numerous donut shops from California to New York and nothing else comes close. All the donuts are great, the Bavarian Cream is particularly special. It has a real chocolate ganache on top and what must be real Bavarian cream inside. Everywhere else you will get chocolate flavored icing and sugary pudding. This is an entirely different experience. If you look through these reviews, the only reason this place has 4.8 and not a perfect 5 star average is become some people are upset about this place being closed when they arrive. They are special donuts and they will be gone by 8am. If you show up late you can always overpay for a far inferior donut at Lamars on the next corner.

Still the best donut in the universe. Their dough is an original from the past. Before machines took over. I can only guess how long theyve been doing this for. I imagine its been quite a while. The owners are there every night to prep the dough and cook the donuts every morning by hand. Try the glazed and the cinnamon twists those are my favorites. But maybe its the specialty blueberry cake Donuts on Saturday mornings. You can also call in and leave a message on their answering machine if you have a larger order. They will be ready by the time you get there. So with that being said If you dont get there by 9 in the morning. Dont bother heading down they will be sold out. I usually show up around 6:30 am. Its worth a visit to try them. Ill have to add photos of the Donuts later. I keep forgetting to take a picture before I eat them all.
