Ill more detail my review for you all then. Retrofix a misleading name as the majority of the store is broad & table top games, a common theme for game stores but really it isnt a store for retro things. The Very small section of the store that is video games, smaller still is the amount that can be called retro, is not worth going in for. Not because they dont have a few good things in the section that are great finds but because the items there are so over priced its not worth it. We all have to make money but if I can buy the same game twice over and just wait a few days for shipping why buy in a store so unprofessional. I would understand a game going for over market value because it is in a store you can look at it and take it home that night but that convenience isnt worth what they price. Questioning the prices just gets a defensive we looked it up thats what its selling for. Which would be a decent answer if they didnt sound and look like they ate gearing for a yelling match. Retro gaming is hard to make a full store for I get it there isnt a huge market and no where to easily buy items for stock but dont pretend we have no idea what the items are or what they are worth.

Not very good customer service here at all. I ordered some singles (online) and was told by a previous worker, I can order same day and pick up - no big deal. Did exactly that, was told by another worker, that I must wait at least 24 hours as they only have a guy who pulls the cards on a certain day. K, fine. Same visit, I went to purchase a few other singles on their wall (you must use their computer I was told). However, said computer was frozen. I asked the workers if there was anything they could do and I got nothing but shrugs and sorry, you have to use the PC to buy any other singles (it was frozen). I was going to walk out of there spending even more money than I came in to spend. Really awkward exchange. I want to support local business during these times - but will probably just buy through big box retail online from here on out. And order singles from other outlets online. Much easier than trying to throw money at my local store who apparently doesnt need my business.

Great collection of tabletop games, board games, pen n paper games, dice sets, spell cards for dnd, miniatures, card games, etc. We were only there for a few minutes but found exactly what we were looking for.

Some knowledgeable and helpful associates there. However, the chick that works there makes the experience unbearable at times. Seems as if she hates working there. Also, it feels almost impossible to purchase single cards there. I understand needing to keep up with inventory. But it shouldnt be that difficult with making a purchase.

Super awesome store. Everything from modern Video Games to in depth board games. Including all the classics. Everything is fairly priced, and the atmosphere is awesome. Definitely returning!

They are rude when you need to return things that dont work. One clerk actually asked my son are you sure that you didnt break it when he returned a game that he bought the day before it did not work when he put it in his ps4. Then they wouldnt even return his money because he paid cash the guy told him I can only give you store credit for half the purchase price. Total B.S.

All of the employees are knowledgeable about the products they are selling. The prices are great, everything is priced to compete with the internet. There is also a female employee that works there that Ive seen numerous times helping out new players with things like dice or promo cards for MTG and pokemon. Just a super friendly staff and thats refreshing nowadays!

Pretty good selection of boardgames, tons of rpg books, magic singles, and miniatures, and a decent collection of classic videogames as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a local game store.

Neat game store!

I want to start by saying if you check all my reviews I never leave a bad one, all 5 stars. However I have gone to Retrofix games a handful of times now, and the employees have been aggressive and rude. I am not a TCG scalper/reseller. My family loves to open and collect Pokémon cards and when I come into this store I am treated very poorly for asking for Pokémon cards. Again we are a family not scalpers. This store should stop selling Pokémon products if they hate it so much. I would gladly change my review, if I am treated better in the future. There are other TCG card stores in town, for now I will have to take my family elsewhere.

This store occupies a great niche. They even rent games here so you can try before you buy! The staff are awesome. Friendly and helpful. They have tables for gaming. Magic is played here. Pokemon is played here. They do releases for Magic and Pokemon. They also have a D&D event happening on the 17th of Oct call them for details!

Nice store with spacious area for magic tournaments or other games. Ability to rent games is a really great idea and appreciated service to have available before purchasing an expensive game. I really liked being able to play magic without rubbing elbows with others. I appreciate my space and this is the most comfortable Ive been in a gaming store. Another nice thing is the play space is in a completely different area from the store so you dont have customers walking by as you play.

Honestly, the best game store I’ve set foot in. Every single staff member is super knowledgeable and friendly to all level of experience and expertise. They carry good family games for kids but also a good selection of hardcore game nerd games. Need D&D manuals or Warhammer supplies? They got it here too. I’ve attended multiple game nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. To top it off the owners are really great people who support the local community. Shop here before hitting Amazon folks, you won’t be disappointed!

Great store. I game there just about every Sunday and enjoy getting time any day of the week to stop by and browse. Their staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. I bring my 9 year old in with me to play MTG and they dont talk down to him because he is learning. Also have brought my 1 year old in with me and they where very friendly to her. Overall would give them a solid 6/5

A great place to go for all your gaming needs! My personal favorite is the ability to rent a board game for a night or two, that way you can have a game night without having to outright buy a board game. But if you do like it, just buy it! :)Highly recommend. Check out their weekly tournaments for Magic: The Gathering and more.

This is a fun place that sells board games and video games (new and old, some used). They have time almost everyday for playing games. ThatThats right a people show up just to play games. You can see the game schedule on their website. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful a and pleasant. Good prices. The parking situation is often lousy.

Usually pretty good, but if i call asking about the availability of a single, high value rare Im told Im free to come by and look...Come on, I know the valuable rares are on display, sorted by color and facing the register. Dont be lazy, all that did was make me buy from Muse when they confirmed over the phone they had one

Very cool place. The sell board games and accessories as well as video games from NES to current. This place is also popular for their game nights, several times a week. The staff is very nice and informed. Their prices are fair to good. Parking can be a nightmare at certain hours.

Retrofix is my local game store for Magic: the Gathering. Everyone has been incredibly friendly and welcoming - they take the time to teach new players. Also great vinyl selection! Probably my favorite haunt in GF

I love this place! Retro and stranger things are the only 2 places worth going in great falls. Both places do need a light air freshener to make the store More inviting. But thats just me I hate the smell of new plastic in all stores. THANKS FOR BEING AWESOME!!!

I absolutely love Retro Fix. The staff is great, the customers are friendly and the layout is fantastic. Ive been to Muse, and while it has a good selection of things such as War Hammer and Magic The Gathering, as well as boasting a large selection of comic books, it doesnt have the same atmosphere. In fact, I dont think Ive ever gone into a hobby/gaming shop with as good an atmosphere as Retro Fix. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a well priced game, a fun place to hang out, or just a place to meet new people.

The staff/owners are always friendly and helpful. It was sad when they decided to close the Great Falls location. So I dont get to go as often as I did before

Great staff and environment. Board game selection is decent. There are some games that I feel are really missing from their collection to make it nice and robust. I got a Christmas present for a friend here and the cashier took my hints and checked me out on the DL. The staff is really willing to work with you, talk to you, or make recommendations. Prices are par for board games, making them well with the look because they are local.

Retrofix is a store my Husband, Daughter and I go to practically every day or every other day. Love the staff. Great little game store.You can buy individual cards on their website and they will ship to you or you can do in-store pickup.They also host game nights and tournaments. Ive not gone, but my roommate does sometimes and says the people are fun.They sell all sorts of table games and tcgs.

I love the board game rental area. Weve checked out a few games already to test drive, and already bought some that we liked. Chase was super helpful and friendly, and laughed at my aging nerd-queen jokes.

It was a great place with great prizes. As you walked in there was a table with people playing games already. Its open and large with a large variety but the lady at the counter mentioned that their website and more variety. Whatever you ordered online via their website is delivered to the shop asap which one customer loved. There is a rewards programme in place which is great for die hard gamers. Not a lot of comic books though.

Staff is always friendly and fun. Prices are generally pretty good.

Decent place if you never buy their used games. I bought a game boy advance and they told me it was in great condition and had been tested. I get home and the start button doesnt work and they said they wouldnt return it. I also returned a gba game and they took the game but the money never appeared in my account.I feel like they stole from me and lied to me and I will only go back to try and get this issue resolved.

Havent been into hobby games in a while, walked in by chance, and the girl at the counter was very friendly but not pushy at the minis I was looking at. Decided to break down and buy the set she reccrecommed a couple days later and couldnt have been happier with it. Every time Ive been in there the staff has been super friendly, but not bothersome. Also a big thing for me was I felt no such attitude of gate keeping that I often see in shops like this, they genuinely seemed to want new blood. Best store in Missoula.

This is definitely the place to go for old video games, if you have a hankering for some NES . They have quite a selection of Nintendo, super Nintendo, and Sega genesis games. Great Xbox and PlayStation games, not so many newer games. They also have an exceptional collection of board and card games.

Great store, but had a horrible customer service experience. Son bought a used Destiny expansion pack, questioned whether the expansion would work, and we were told if it doesnt work we can bring it back. Didnt work, brought it back, and only had the option of exchange or store credit. Pretty useless to me. The product was not what the box said.

I dont know what makes money in this store, but from the plethora of teenage boys, Id say its Magic the Gathering. They had a pretty good turnout on the Sunday afternoon I stopped in. I can only imagine what Friday Night Magic looks like.The point of my review isnt MtG, its D&D. Im guessing its not the big dollars, but his personal passion that contributes to the stores excellent selection of books, dice and accessories.Conveniently located on the Hip Strip, I will be checking his inventory before throwing my dollars to internet business.

Great game store!

So i walk in with a mint windswept heath full art... and the young lady behind the counter says there is wear on the bottom. Brought it home grabbed my white light magnifier. I have checked every millimeter on this card. Its mint no damage no wear. This card has been sealed in a protector and never played. I would not recommend due to inexperienced individuals that try to work there. I will never be returning and i would not recommend this shop to anyone that plays any type of card game. if you cant trust the people you buy from, then you lost me as a customer.

EDIT: I went in recently and the staff was so ambivalent it was almost rude. Their prices have gone up also. The lack of friendliness and sincerity to a newer player of certain games will leave me not coming back.

Be weary of this store and their buyback policy, and know what your items are worth before entering. They will exploit you at the first opportunity.I am saddened by the downhill direction this store has taken recently. The gaming community here is great! Paris is knowledgeable and friendly! Love playing Pokemon on Saturdays! Getting into Magic and experimenting with Vanguard. I love learning new stuff and its a great place to do just that. They have an amazing selection of old records and console games.Update: my previous review was when this business was on Central Ave. In Great Falls, making my review useless now they closed it and opened this new place in Missoula. I have been in Great Falls for 3 years, about to move in 5 months and I havent even been to Missoula nor do I have plans to go there. Sorry I cant be more helpful but I dont want my good review falsely giving credit to something I know nothing about.

Horrible customer service from 2/3 of the staff. The owner and another employee have literally rolled eyes at me before. I took cards in to trade (bulk of rares) and they offered 20 dollars.. took them somewhere else and got over 100. Once, I tried asking questions to which he replied I dunno then walked away. Would NOT recommend going here.
