Nice and clean. Fairly pricey, which is the norm on college campuses.
Only thing I recommend. Get some Jags foot socks! The heavy duty, ankles dont work in AZ
My middle daughter is headed to USA so I needed to find items to represent! Some items were overpriced but most bookstores are. Definitely going back. Staff was friendly.
Donna is disrespectful and has no knowledge to handle anything including answering the phone without making one frustrating after waiting her to say “how can I help you” for more than 25 minutes to get back and tell you can I call you back because I have another customer waiting! Oh really?! She disrespected the disabled people by not trusting them and find out that she is the problem maker by doing everything wrongly. 4 errors made by her in my daughter’s first semester as a freshman and she NEVER apologized for what she did. I wish the head manager read my review and actually do something especially my daughter still didn’t receive her “unordered “ book that she is waiting for two weeks now and until today God bless Noah helped find out that the book wasn’t ordered first place. Donna is a negative person who does nothing other than intended mistakes and show disrespect to the students.
Very unorganized. Does not communicate with professors about what materials are needed. Bad customer service. Does not have the materials needed for classes. Sells unnecessary books and won’t give refund. Awful
Do not buy books from them other than maybe lab manuals. Use chegg to rent books. Save your money. Only shop here if you want USA gear. -2020 USA Alumni
I put in an order for a used rental at the price of $39.99. I completed my payment at this price and then later it showed up on my receipt and bank statement at $63 without any explanation as to why. I called the store to ask why and then to cancel the order because they still have the book. I had not picked up the book yet. I told them to just cancel it as I can rent it on Amazon for the same price (the price that is clearly started at the time of purchase) and I would not have to find parking and go on campus to get the book. They tell me this is fine and then call back to tell me that it is not fine and I must go to the bookstore anyway in order to get my refund and return the book. I WOULD AVOID USING THIS BOOKSTORE AT ALL COSTS. AMAZON Rentals are the way to go. I have always rented to Amazon and as a broke college student, I only chose to use the USA Bookstore to save $20 which was not even saved nor did they even reach out to tell me that they jacked the price up another $23. Huge rip off.
One of the ladies here was so kind and helpful :)
Love the bookstore little pricey but good bookstore
Although staff are helpful the management seems to never order enough books for the number of students attending so many times you end up having to wait weeks for books or access codes because they give backorder books out first. The clothes run small, and The prices for the supplies needed are too high for what they are.
Great selection of USA products. Prices are a bit high
Now that B&N has taken over, a lot of the good merchandise is gone (especially electronics) and theres no music section anymore. All the music majors are taking their business to the off campus bookstore to get their staff paper and paraphernalia. However, it does have very great, helpful staff and good snacks.
Wonderful place to shop for all your Jag needs. Good prices very helpful staff. Lots to choose from. Staff is great. I will be buying all my jagwear here. Love it.
I loved it, it had everything you needed. The prices werent always the best when it came to class supplies but you pay for the convenience. Look for the sales and clearance section, you can actually get really good deals.
Clean. Organized.
The layout is nice and there are nice products. It is filled with South Apparel. It is expensive but they have almost all the school products a student may need. They are even getting computers to sell soon. I give it 3 stars just because of how expensive it is and how little a college student has to spend. The bookstore does have a lot of sales they do to help make up for the expensive price.
Went in to get my books on orientation day and it was a total breeze. The staff were highly personable and knew exactly what they were doing, or barring that, who to go to who would. Im on state GI, so all of my books are paid for, but since I had JUST gotten registered, I was concerned they wouldnt have me in the system yet, but they managed to process my info and get me all set up in a matter of minutes.
I ordered my books more than a month ago and they never arrived. I ended up getting them on amazon because when I contacted the bookstore they claimed they couldn’t track my package or give me a shipping or arrival date because they were using a third party warehouse. This place is a joke save yourself the money and time and just order everything off of amazon.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Very expensive
Good bookshop
There were several issues with the bookstore. One is availability, not having our books we are in week 3 of class is not acceptable. The communication or lack of is awful. I asked to discuss my concerns with the manager and his attitude was condescending and he interrupted me several times in the conversation. He was downright rude. The leadership is where a culture of accountability and customer service starts and he is definitely not someone I would ever want to work for or have students working for.
Over Delivered
Highway robbery. Books can cost 2 and 3 times more than you can find online. Buy your books somewhere else if that is an option. This place is barely suitable for a last resort.
This was once the greatest college bookstore that you could imagine having. They had the best staff and would do anything to ensure you were satisfied. Now that Barnes and Noble has taken over it had been nothing but a headache. It took them 6 weeks into the semester to have the Googles I needed for my Chem lab and almost as long for the books I needed for a class. On the first day of classes I had to dig through boxes like it was Black Friday just to find the textbooks I needed. The staff looks and acts like they are afraid of the management. Sad it has turned out this way.
I am a online grad student and live out of state. I have been trying to get my books and supplies for several weeks. The status goes back and forth from on hold to in process and vice versa. I called several times always get somebody different and placed on hold for someone else and have to explain the whole situation and they tell me something different each time, take my name and number so someone will call me back; which they do not. I am very frustrated with the unprofessionalism and poor customer service. The staff do not have a clue what they are doing. I can tell since B & N took over the quality of service has gone down.
Im dropping my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. Why South sold their book store to Barnes and Nobles I will never understand. The result of this caused MAC computers to stop being sold here.
Awesome atmosphere. Nice sales. Great store.
Beautiful campus
I highly recommend this library for students to spend more time in.
Great service and has everything you would want or need.
Everything and everyone was awesome! The help was ready to help!!🎉🎓
Frustrating to have them say they price match in giant letters on several signs. After waiting in line, they tell you they wont match the price from the publishers website or any site except for Amazon or Barnes and Noble (who own the bookstore). Their plan seems to be to think that you wont want to shop somewhere else after standing in line, but Ive spent thousands on textbooks from Amazon. I guess they dont want my money. After visiting their B and N website (which has cheaper prices than the bookstore), They promised 15 percent discount on my next purchaseif I gave my email. I tried this, only to find that the 15 percent off doesnt apply to this item.If you love a good bait and switch, visit a car dealership or your local B&N.
Great selection of products electronics, clothing, school supplies, books, and snacks. They also offer renting services as well a great way for students to save money on costly books.
A bit overpriced but well stocked & maintained. If u can get your textbooks online and supplies as well I advise u to do so and save a lot a money plus the textbook buyback program is a joke.
I love South Alabama book store (Food court)😆
Kinda pricey but nice selection of items
Its in a very convenient spot so its easy to get to. Most things are expensive but it has everything you need from a bookstore.
Great for getting some gear to represent South!
All that I needed..👍
Only was missing one book this semester. Seems to be getting better.
Now that Barnes and Noble manages the bookstore, it is a complete nightmare. Incorrect books were purchased because the bookstore had the wrong ones in stock; books for some classes still havent come in yet and were halfway through with Week 3 of class; when attempting to get the required online access code that was supposed to be included in one book, we were told that that was not the correct book and to purchase another instead only to find out that it actually IS the correct book, but they no longer sell it; purchased another book for another class via pre-order card and was told that we would receive an email when it came in, only no email has been received and when I drove to the bookstore today because no one ever answers the phone to find out if it was finally in, was told that cashier rang it up as an actual purchase and not a pre-order so I would have to RE-PURCHASE the $277 book. This semester, we have more than $1,000 invested in books that can not be used because they are the incorrect ones but they cant be returned because text books are non-returnable. And, the text book managers uniform response is always that the department or the professors did not communicate properly with the bookstore in regards to their chosen text books. Out of six classes, the chance that not one single department or professor communicated properly is very hard to believe. I sincerely hope that South Alabama is somehow made aware of the nightmare that is being created for all their students by Barnes and Noble and ends this business relationship with them sooner rather than later.
Expensive but worth it.
Nice variety and prices are a bit high convenient to the food court.
There are no bookstore visitor parking spaces available without having to go across campus first for a parking permit. The bookstore has a good selection of Jag wear but very little for Alumni.
Big 50% sale. Bought several collard shirts. Awesome price. THANKS!!!!!
Always friendly faces and can help you with all of campus needs.
Easily navigable with a helpful staff.
NOT really open!!!! They are not buying nor selling their books for walk in customers as it says on the website. So frustrating when youre an out of town student really just trying to save some money by selling back your books and buying used books. Drove 2 hours for nothing.
Its a bookstore with merch as well. Not worth it as its stupid expensive
Changing hands hope it doesnt stay expensive.
Decent variety. Prices a bit high compared to FSU.
Googled the working hours, the results were completely off from the actual hours. Time to update?
Nice prices but they dont have every book you need to have. Resale books for a extremely low price. Id rather resale my books to Amazon.
Employees are very nice and very helpful.
Do not, I repeat DO NOT buy your textbooks here. Shop Amazon, Chegg, Valore etc for books. They have extremely high prices and will buy some of your books back but when they do they give you far less than you paid for them.
I have been a student at south for four years. I have always had mediocre customer service at this bookstore. Mostly because the employees do not communicate with their managers so everyone is misinformed. I had multiple people working there tell me that I was wrongly trying to pay for something that is required for my major (1000$) and it angers me because that is a lot of money to a student. After I figured out how to pay for it I saw the employee that wrongly informed me and I told him I figured out what to do and he rudely told me I was wrong again. But his fellow employee was assisting me despite his protests for her to let me figure out how to do it on my own. Tamara, the girl helping me, was extremely kind and apologetic for the miscommunications and she correctly addressed the situation. Shoutout to Tamara for dealing with her terrible coworker.
Good selection but not a lot of used books to choose from.
Great . They gotta chick fila
Huge selection of merchandise and helpful staff.
Pricy but great!
Great place, fun people who work there
Good people great school
Very bright and cheery. Well-stocked and friendly staff on hand to help.
Prices are extremely high especial for the tech!
Lots of great merch
Its become more of a gift shop than anything else these days. Display after display of things college students dont really need. The actual textbooks are most of the time off limits for students to directly look at without help. Overall, any student, besides maybe a freshmen, just go online to get their books.
Always clean .and PEACEFUL
Good customer service
We love USA and their amazing Bookstore!
Very amazing
Horrible prices a rip off, rent online if you can much cheaper.
The international version is 1/10th the price.
Good sales since they are going out of business.
Vast bookstore, overpriced books, even when I showed them the price suggested by my instructor who sold them the book, the charged me $10 more.
The lady called me a woman on the phone and I asked one question and she answered with a No Maam and hung up!
Most expensive store in mobile al
Prices are iffy, but they sometimes have useful things
Good books.
Nice facility
Bruh pt. 2
They enjoyed.my money
Had everything I needed
Terrible service, overpriced books that are in limited supply, and good luck getting anyone to answer the phone during normal business hours.
Just looking too expensive.
DO NOT buy your book here. Ridiculously high prices, place is a rip off. Get your book from Amazon, or just download them. Arrr!
They rob you blind XD
Very expensive things
Great prices
Its convenient

Clean, Friendly staff, lots of merchandise.
Love it.
Mostly very expensive.
