My husband and I were amazed at the wonderful job Calagaz did on transferring a short film from a 1993 home VHS tape to a dvd, it was like new. We werent sure it could be done because the tape was so old. They did a great job.

Ordered some camera gear off a well known prime place and of course it sis not show up in time. Went to Calagaz and they had precisely what I needed. Great service. In and out in 10 minutes with what I needesd.

If you need anything done regarding photography, images, or printing this is the very best place to go. The staff helped me figure out how to use some old film equipment I received from a relative who passed without purchasing anything. But of course I did buy a bag. I have also used them to enlarge some digital pictures and print them for display on my wall.

We have been doing business with Calagaz for many years and they are always pleasant and efficient. They specialize in photography and they are best in that field.

Just bought a new to me Nikon and three lens. They all look new and if I had been told they were new then I would have believed it. I saved a lot of money and got more equipment than I had hoped to afford. The advice I got from the sales staff and the camera repair guy, who happened to walk by as we were talking, was great and gave me confidence I was buying would do what I wanted to do.

This is the only place in town I could find that could shoot and print a Canadian Passport photo. The super-knowledgeable staff new all the basics and had experience with such a specific request. I cant comment on their photography supplies, but their store is organized, well-staffed and pristine.

I asked ro make sure my passport photos came out nice. They gentlemen taking my photos seemed bothered and told me who cares they look like mug shots anyways. I HATE my pictures. Lighting was off and I looked miserable because he wouldnt let me smile in them. Ive taken passport photos before and they never cared if I smiled. Unfortunately I really needed them ASAP otherwise I would have gone somewhere else and retaken them.

I had a fantastic customer service experience at Calagaz in Mobile. It has been years since I’ve had such outstanding service. Natasha was amazing, she took the time to thoroughly explain how to use features on my camera that applied to my usage. She helped me set up the application to communicate with my camera. She installed the screen protector and helped me with filters, and 2 cases. I needed so much help and she patiently assisted me. I have been telling everyone how wonderful Calagaz is. Thank you again. We will continue to use Calagaz from 900 miles away for all of our printing and photography needs.

The people are amazing. Always knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They did an amazing job calibrating my Sigma lenses and I took a class with Frank Roberts that was very informative and fun.

Everyone is super helpful and they all know what they are talking about. I’ll only shop here for camera gear from now on

The Pensacola store is well worth the trip for their large inventory of pre-owned equipment and knowledgeable and engaging staff.

Extremely professional and friendly staff although prices are reasonable even compared to online purchases which was a surprise theyre still willing to make modest discount deals and even military discount high quality extensive selection very clean and friendly love this place and that was just my first time in. Should just get better with time and if they dont have something in Mobile theyve got a even bigger store in Pensacola. They sell new and modestly used equipment for a little better price everything I checked out there was amazing. Highly recommend this place it was actually quite refreshing. And after over 40 years and photography Ive seen just about all of it. So I believe my experience and opinion is reasonably accurate. If you have a passion and love for photography if you are a photographic artist check this place out. It will FEED YOUR NEED. MY PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY BUDDIES BEEN SHOPPING THERE FOR YEARS. We are so fortunate to have a camera store such as Calagaz. Many cities do not have a dedicated camera store at all. The staff at Calagaz is friendly and knowledgeable.

Helpful, lab tech went to car in the rain to look at color of Moms eyes. They showed me cracks in 90 yr old pictires I left. I will do follow up.

I posted my review to this place a year or two ago, and would occasionally come back to check if it was still here and the responses. But Ive deleted my old email account, so the review was deleted, I assume so anyways.I come back because my experience from a few years ago at calagaz is STILL the worst customer service experience Ive ever had.I was purchasing a Rode microphone which at the time was $280, and calagaz was the only place that offered it (or so I thought, I found out a day after this event that guitar center had it as well). Anyways, calagaz was an hour away from my home, but it was a major purchase so it was worth it. I get to calagaz and ask about the mic, and they bring it out to me. The problem was that it was a very obvious counterfeited knockoff, not real Rode mic. I let the person working there that this was not the correct mic and he went to get the manager on duty.What happened was someone bought the real rode mic, and made a return to get their money back, but returned a counterfeited version instead.Anyways, the manager comes out and tells me he doesnt know what he wants for him to do! Um apologize for my inconvenience at least, Jesus Christ. You almost sold me a $2 microphone for $280!!! You could have thanked me for pointing out what could have been a very serious problem had someone bought it. Offered me something worth my while. Literally anything at all would have been better than what he actually did.A waste of an establishment. This was over a year ago, but I would still never go to a place with such ignorant workers with absolutely no training in either their technology or customer service skills. This was hands down the worst Ive ever been treated at any establishment.

First off, Lori is amazing, and very very knowledgeable. Aaron is the man and he price matched a DJI Spark for me today and raised my level of satisfaction from an above average standing to an astronomical height. Absolutely amazing. The inside has many things to look at if youre waiting to print out pictures. Along with that the process to print pictures is simple as long as you have the pictures on a flashdrive. The prints are amazing and very high quality. They usually dont take too long and are fairly inexpensive.

Probably will not return ever unless I really have no choice!! The absolute laziness in this store is overwhelming.. if you ask for help or have question, its like you have offended the employees here. One girl was literally talking bad about a customer to another employee very loud and very disrespectful. For what these people charge they should be super helpful. My canvas looked great though. However my book I had made elsewhere because I couldnt get any assistance and they make you feel stupid for asking. I will take my business elsewhere.

I spent about 6 HOURS choosing prints from the wedding photos by photographer Amber Fletcher, IN THE STORE! They offer 8x12’s so no one is cropped out of photos( at the same price as 8x10) and you get excellent quality prints the next day! I’m talking over 600 prints, the next day! AND saved all photos to dvd’s and jump drives for me as I am not computer savvy😂. The excellent price was so worth the service too . Thank you for your help in printing these treasured memories🤗And I really can’t say enough about the customer service and quality of my prints.

I went in there to trade in my Sony a6500 with a couple of lenses. Jason was extremely kind and patient as I took forever to make up my mind about the new a7iii.We ended up not being able to get it due to a complication on my end of the deal. Even though Jason knew I was from out of town, and that I wasnt going to be able to purchase the a7iii, he continued being very nice with a big smile!So with that being said, I have found my go to local mom & pop shop! We have to patronize these places to keep unique shops like this open. The business named after a HUGE RIVER in South American is wiping these awesome little places out.Go ahead and buy from the Big Store, and when you need help with your purchased product, youll have to be on the phone for hours talking to a CSR that doesnt have a clue about a camera!If you buy from places such as Calagaz, then youre getting people that know about the products they sell!

Its a real camera store! They have a print lab for both digital and film printing. They develop film (35 and 120) in house. The in house framer is a wizard and can help you even if you are on a budget. Seriously, Trish is amazing.The Mobile location focuses on digital cameras more than film. For film gear check out the Pensacola location.Backdrops are available in muslin, fabric, paper rolls and even pop up styles. They have a full array of lighting equipment from Off Camera Flash (ocf) to studio and ring lights (both macro and studio/makeup). The tripod and bag walls usually have something for everyone.Dont knock the Promaster lineup. Their 1 year warrenty that is consumer friendly is the best part.Media recovery is a thing. From SD cards to small (less than 1T) externals and even some phones are able to be saved. They also help with media archiving! So get all your memories off the phone and backed up in a way that wont charge you monthly.

Nice place, friendly staff but be aware when renting lens they will put a hold on your debit card immediately but you will not get your money back for basically a week and a half. They should really warn customers of that ahead of time. This has put my family in a very difficult bind. I called my bank hoping to get it put back and there is nothing they can do. Unfortunately I will not be back. I am an aspiring wedding photographer and had hoped to use this company for the next 4 weddings I have booked this year, but I can not afford to go through this 4 more times. If I had 2000$ lying around and could still afford to feed my family and pay Bills I would have just bought the lens. Lesson learned I suppose I will have to rent from a company online I was trying to support local business but it just is not practical.

Sold me a filter that was suppose to be bomb proof. It wasnt. It was, however, quite spendy. Called them up when I broke it (totally my fault, but I buy gear thats suppose to survive my lifestyle), they shipped me out a new one as soon as they got the broken one. Just had to pay shipping, Im cool with that. Id shop there again if Im ever in Alabama.

I purchased a charger on Dec. 2, 2017...Went to charge the battery on Dec. 9th...battery did not Charge. Called, Natasha answered very hesitant when I questioned her about a refund. Go in, no refund was issued. Ask about a refund policy before purchasing anything from Calagaz in Mobile, Al. Im searching for a new charger as well as a Camera store.
