Looking for a fun brunch spot without the crowd in downtown Mobile? If so, this is the spot for you! The cheese boards here are well designed and is very fun to eat. They also offer a good variety of sandwiches and salads so you can’t really make a bad choice. The staff is very kind and makes the experience much more enjoyable!

We came for a work event. We had a couple of the cheese plates and they were fantastic!I ordered the goat cheese pimento and bacon jam sammich. It was amazing!We sat outside and the atmosphere was great. The service was on-point and the $5 house red wine wasn’t a bad choice either! Definitely a good place to check out!

This place is a jewel hidden in the heart of Mobile. Large wine selection, dont even get me started on the cheeses! Lovely outdoor seating, just be prepared to come early or to have a wait. Totally worth it though!

I loved their food because it was a perfect balance between sweet and salty for me. Their spinach dip is amazing!!!! Their ultimate 4 cheese sandwich and their pimento gouda are soooooo good!!!! It was filling and perfect amount of food, with addition of customer service. It was worth going there. Seating is limited and some of the chairs are a little uncomfortable, but like I said food and customer service was great!!!! Definitely would go again.

Wonderful Sunday Brunch. A bowl of Bacon Cheddar Grits Chowder was delicious and more than I could eat. I should have only ordered the Brunch Board, which had cheeses, crackers and fruit, enough to share with my companion. And dont let me forget the bottle of Champagne served with orange juice or cranberry juice to make your own Mimosas.

Excellent service! Excellent atmosphere! Excellent choices. Reasonably priced for the perfect date night or girls night out! Chris and Stephanie are great and made me and my friends feel so comfortable! It was fabulous!

A+ customer service, refreshing menu, great prices. I had a turkey jalapeño slaw sandwich and a side Greek salad. Both I highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back and try a charcuterie board and wine. Doesn’t hurt that they are right next to a super chill brewery.

I had their Raclette that they were doing as a special and it was AMAZING! Boiled potatoes with cooked red and green peppers with the melty raclette swiss cheese on top!!

We were on a food tour with Bienville Tours and one of our stops was The Cheese Cottage. We had a lovely charcuterie platter and a glass of wine. It was so, so good! Great outdoor seating only as the Cottage is very small. But the cheese and wine selection were excellent.

Super yummy food and nice staff. Make sure you dress for the weather there is no indoor seating.

Great place. Really cute spot. Everyone was friendly and the food was amazing! The sandwiches are delicious. I got the Pimento goat cheese and gouda bacon jam sandwich which was incredible, flavorful and fresh. I like the little outdoor seating area, very nice. Hope the brewery theyre putting next door doesnt ruin the quaint vibe.

The food is very good. The atmosphere is superb. The only drawback for now is the service can be very slow at times. I know theyre expanding their staff so Im sure that will improve. I highly recommend this place overall, even with the slow service.

My sister has been raving about this place since they opened. I am in for Thanksgiving and we went there today and couldnt have been happier! The fried bologna sandwich was incredible as was the potato soup.Great atmosphere and met the owner who was delightful.

I wanted to love it because the staff was amazing but my ceasar salad was a oily mess. Im use to a creamy anchovy made ceasar dressing and not this olive oil base dressing. The turkey sandwich was just okay. The charcuterie boards look amazing.

We went for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the first visit for all of the people in my party. It was also my first experience eating a Cuban sandwich. It was great and I look forward to coming back. It was a little cold because we sat outside but that isnt their fault.

This place is amazing! It was a little pricey, but fun for a special day. It’s very cute, and the blueberry & Brie toastie was absolutely spot on. They also carry fentimans rose lemonade which is phenomenal. The decor is very whimsical and cute!

Waited 15 minutes before they took our drink order another 10 minutes to take our order. Took an hour to recieve our order. They were not even busy. Very poor service. They were more interested in getting the brewery customers to not sit on their empty tables than wait on their own guest.

I heard great things about this place, but it was even better than I expected. My sandwich was so good that I just had to eat slow and make it last. And the tomato soup was literally the best Ive ever had. There are some pricey items on the menu, but I thought what I had was reasonably priced.

Best chicken salad I have ever had. Great flavor with pimento cheese. The cheesecake was beyond delicious. And the staff were very friendly. And the Cuban was very good too. Very relaxing patio area. Definitely worth the stop. If I am ever in the area again I will be stopping in again.

Lovely, charming outdoor space to sit, and of course that adorable old pointed roof building! We ordered online for takeout to have next door at the brewery. They even checked to be sure we didnt need anything else, bc we sat at the last table close to their building but in front of brewery. They didnt seem to rush the ppl wanting to linger and chat, so that was nice. Great date place for starting w/wine n cheese n charcuterie and moving on to salads, sandwiches, etc. Will be better as downtown continues to grow up, they get more neighbors, more places are reclaimed, more activity; and they feel they can be open later. Like this place bc it has a fresher feel than Dauphin Street can feel, which is starting to feel dirty. This whole block front is fine, with Fowler Lighting on other corner. The antique shop across the street in the old florists place is well kept (but not sharing their parking when theyre closed, which is not neighborly or community minded.)

The best boujie grilled cheese in Mobile. Completely worth it. The owner is wonderfully sassy and welcoming. The outdoor sitting is super pleasant and comfortable. Great for a sunny day lunch and hang.

This place is delicious and I will be back for more! I got the pimento cheese and bacon jam toastie. I also had a side of cranberry gouda cole slaw. And I also ordered some cake. First, the sandwich comes with chips and they were kettle and great! The slaw was different and I really enjoyed it. The cranberries make it. The sandwich was fun and very good. But y’all this cake, this cake was next level. I’m going to write an ode or ballad to it one day. Anyway, come for the cheese but leave with some cake. Amen?

I could go into how the Atmosphere is top notch, the servers are kind and attentive, and the food is fresh and local. But the conclusion is simple, If you live in Mobile and you havent been to The Cheese Cottage, you are missing out.The only thing I would change is, Let the Cheese in the Cheese cake shine. No need for all the extra honey.

My co-workers and I have eaten there quite a bit. The food is AMAZING. I cannot stress how much I love the caprice salad. Also, they use environmentally friendly compostable containers most of the time. HOWEVER, we cannot get past the way we have been snipped at on a couple of occasions. To be fair, they were kind of busy. However, I have eaten at busy restaurants and not been treated with such distain. My entire group has been snapped and talked to like we were a bother upon arrival when we try to get seated. I am not a dramatic person, but it was absolutely JARRING the way we were treated. I would love to keep eating there, but today was the third strike. Which is a shame, because the food is good. 4 stars on food, -1 star on service.UPDATE:To respond to your update. The reason we ordered ahead was that it takes a long time to get our food. Once we sat there for an hour waiting on food. Still, even though it takes a long time when busy, we tried to keep eating there. We liked the food so much, that we went ahead and pre-ordered, since it would be on our short lunch break. I let you know by noting Dining In, because there was no Dine In option online. The complaint, however, was not about where we sat, its how we were instructed to sit there and how snappy the instructions have been on more than one occasion. I admit, it pains us to give up Cheese Cottage because we can walk there on our lunch break, and the food is great. However, I now feel gaslighted about the whole experience.

This place was amazing! Im so glad as a Mobilian that we have a place like this thats quaint and reasonably priced. The wine is a bit pricey, but, its Wine. I sat in with my friend and fellow local musician Roy Durand who plays here on Thursday nights. Im already recommending this place to everyone I know.

I havent had a chance to eat here but everything I have had from here was been wonderful. The grill cheese is my favorite! I also love their house white wine. It is called Zoe and it is from Greece. Its a really lovely wine to enjoy during a hot summers day! Oh and I did get a poached pear for dessert! It was fantastic! I will definitely be back. The manager here has been great everytime I come in. She knows how much I love the Zoe wine since I come in to get bottles to take home!

Fantastic delectable dishes and warm, welcoming service. Went here on a rainy, cooler day for Mobile and was rewarded with some of the most delicious food Ive had in a long time, that made me recall favorite visits to Europe. The cheese board was excellent. Appropriately the cheese outshone the meats that were all a little bland, but man were the cheeses, honey and jam incredible! Sort of like close your eyes to savor all the goodness incredible! These were the flavors that took me back to Europe. The soup of the day... wow factor of 10/10. My ultimate four cheese baguette was super and so close to perfect, but wasnt warm by the time it reached me. Bummer for all the melty-cheese loaded onto it. I usually am not a cheesecake fan, but I stated out loud to my family at the table that the perfectly sized cheesecake was The Most Delicious Cheesecake Ive Ever Had the Pleasure of Tasting. No joke. The balance of sweet and actual cheese (who knew that cheesecakes could taste cheesy!) taste was another close my eyes moment. Absolutely delectable. Thank you all for a wonderful outing! My only notes would be: 1. The rain and the breeze made things a little cooler for some, including my senior mother. I would have closed at least one of the weather panels on that day, or fired up one of the outdoor heaters. 2. We were eating and trying so many things that the table quickly became a mess, esp with the humidity. It took us out of the wonderful experience when we had to clean up the table ourselves. 3. Thank you for wearing masks, but only when customers see you? That was a little disappointing considering the current precautions. 4. The inside of the cottage is great, charming and reminiscent of far off places where cheese is an art like Switzerland or France, but isnt reflected in the exterior space. Something special outside could be nice too, esp if no one needs to enter the cottage. A locally painted cow sculpture perhaps? (On trips to Zurich, they have cow sculptures all over the city that are painted by local artists.)Thank you again! Seriously, I will be savoring my visit and the great server experience until the next time I have the good fortune to visit.

Absolutely loved this place! Started with a beautifully prepared charcuterie board. Everything on it was delicious and luckily you can buy a lot of the items inside! I definitely bought 4 jars of the bacon jam. I had the tomato soup and Reuben sandwich - both great. The goat cheese panna cotta for dessert was so creamy and light, perfect for ending the meal. Can’t wait to go back!

Great lunch spot to get your wine and snacks on! There is regular live entertainment and events that take place here in addition to the already great selection of hot food, cheese boards and wine and beer. Great place for brunch on the weekends or afternoons out with the girls. Pet friendly outdoor seating, clean facilities and great homemade seasonal food items!

Cannot possibly accurately express in words how much I love this place, but Ill try!Their weekly soup specials are my favorite! Second only to the seasonal Raclette nights, which should be attended no matter what.I love that they offer smaller bottles of wine. The pickled to-go selections are also 🔥🔥🔥 (curried, pickled cauliflower?! SO good!)You cant go wrong at The Cheese Cottage. Cant wait to try out their future location in the Merchants Bank building! I have been in several times and have had good service from the servers, but when I have been to the counter I can barely get any help or suggestions. This has happened more than once. I don’t know if it was the owner or who but she didn’t seem to care about the questions I had. Love the store and the selection though.

While our sandwiches were good, the wait was insane. As I am writing this we have been waiting to pay our check 15 min. We have not seen our waitress since she dropped off our food. From the time we sat down to the time we got our food was 45 min. The poor family to the right of me with 3 little children have been waiting an hour now. This is unacceptable since none of the food has to actually be cooked.

Excellent cheese and meat. Only complaint was the muffaletta used regular bread and not a bin 8

The servers were phenomenal! They give you tips and information on all of the cheeses, boards, drinks etc.! They were easy to work with and extremely helpful. Would recommend 100% to anyone who wants a great, calm night out for a date night or a nice lunch/brunch.

This is such a wonderful additional to Mobile and downtown! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Theyre eager to explain each product and make suggestions. I prefer to go to the Cheese Cottage on weekends and really enjoy my time with friends on the patio. You cant help but feel classy when youre at The Cheese Cottage! Plus, everything Ive tried so far is super delicious.

This little place has been here since 2017. Its a great find. Super friendly and quaint. Delicious food. Try the specials you cant go wrong. The seating is outdoors but its shaded or if you like feel free to sit in the soon. They have cheese boards or toasties (sandwiches). Water or wine. Service was a little slow but I didnt mind, its was a pretty day.

Great place to buy gourmet cheeses you would normally only find on a cheese board else where. Hours are a bit limited at this establishment so be sure to check thier site or give them a call. Staff is friendly and pleasant always when we visit.

Awesome Reuben sandwiches! The lunch cheese plate we ordered was SO yummy and was the perfect size to share between the two of us. Unique atmosphere with mostly outdoor seating (covered & uncovered) but a few quaint spots inside as well. Highly recommend this little gem!

We had passed this little place many times on the way to and from school. I would always say “ one of these days I want to go there”. Today, we did and boy are we glad. The staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The food was fresh and delicious. You can bet this will become a delightful habit. There are so many choices that need our attention!

After the expensive seafood and nice Waterview, this was the most simple but by far the best meal weve had. I had the club wrapped turned into a sandwich on sourdough toast with basil aioli that was a great addition. Perfectly toasted and very fresh and abundant ingredients. Diane had the turkey with cranberry coleslaw. The coleslaw was a unique way to combine the ingredients without making it overly messy and it tasted fantastic. Served with kettle style chips and friendly service from Michelle this was a nice respite. We will be back for dinner and maybe do a meat and cheese plate. They have some great cheese, crackers and the deli meat. Couldnt come more highly recommended. Two thumbs up! 👍👍
