They are very easy to work with, they walked me throught everything and gave me all my options available to me. Its my sons 1st time trying out an instrument so we really had no clue what we were doing. Thank you for all the help we would highly recommend West Music for any of your child orchestras needs!

My first visit to West music today as we were looking for a beginner level acoustic guitar for my daughter. I met a guy working named Tony. Again first time I’ve ever been to this place and we planned to look here as well as another place before purchasing anything. Tony was excellent at explaining the differences for us between the starter guitar sets. He was patient and courteous. He made our first visit feel very welcoming and I didn’t need to look at another store, I was sold. I could tell if we had any questions this guy was going to take care of us.Great customer experience!

I heard so many good things from friends in the Midwest the Tony C is one of the best luthiers in the Midwest . I’ve tried Griggs, I’ve tried guitar center, I’ve tried Ricky’s sound and lights and I never was happy or satisfied paying for a setup then realizing they just changed the strings haha . From what I’ve heard west music doesn’t do this, proper intonation is vital onstage and in the studio, so If all go’s well I have many more guitars and bass’s needed set up .

We can’t thank Patrick enough for his time, education and direction in choosing the Boston grand piano for our family. It sounds amazing and we love listening to our daughters play it! Every instrument is different, and he showed us how this one sounds great. I feel like we have a higher quality piano and sound than the money we spent.

I was very impressed with a recent visit to West Music. I brought two bass guitars in for basic setups and the setup tech, Tony, got them done quickly and did an outstanding job. Tony went above and beyond with customer service and took the time to respond to my several questions via email ahead of time. I will definitely visit West Music in the future for my instrument needs. The showroom is nicely-stocked with a variety of different brands of gear and the staff is there to offer advice and assistance without being overbearing and pressuring.Excellent customer service, nice, clean facility and an overall outstanding experience. Thank you!

I bring guitar here all the time. Best local luther work around with reasonable prices. And awesome work, they always come back sounding great and looking perfect.Plus, they offer better prices for used gear than alot of places. They wont offer you $30 for something that was $300.

Update: overall am satisfied the the response9/18:I go in to rent a viola for my 9 year old son. I have never done this before so I do not know what is normal process, pricing, etc. The associate tells me that they must run my credit to do their rent to own program. I almost decided not to move forward since I do not want any hard runs on my credit but associate assures me that the credit check is not a hard run and will not affect my credit. I go ahead.I really needed the item by 9/23. The associate tells me that they have to ship it in from their warehouse. He will do his best, but it may be a couple days after. I accept this answer. My son has class that Monday (9/23) but I tell him to let his teacher know that the item is on order and will have it for sure by the next class. We go out to the car and I have a text alert that I have a new hard inquiry on my credit. This was a bold face lie. Perhaps the employee was not adequately trained and did not know. However, he should not make statements like this if he does not know. I likely would not have gone this route had a been notified that I would take a hard run to my credit for a viola. I decide not to make a scene about being lied to and go home.9/28: Still no viola, no call, nothing. I made a few attempt calls to the store but nothing.9/29: I send them a Facebook message. Nothing.9/30: My son is at yet another day of class and no instrument. No call from this business. I have found that this program is quite pricey and there are other programs that are much less to rent an instrument through other businesses. If you are going to be one of the most expensive places, you should have some of the best customer service to justify it. Not the case here.Long story short, not a place that I recommend.

Ive purchased several things at West music and Im pleasantly surprised with their prices and service. Ken particular bends over backwards to take care of his customers and I feel like I got a really good deal on a new drum set. Everyone at West music is friendly and its not an intimidating setting like some music stores...

I dont go to West Music because Guitar Center is a hot mess, nor do I go because its closer, I go because of the people that work there. I wont release any names, but the employees are not just there to wait til’ Friday for their check. (Maybe its Wednesday I dont know.) They want to make you a successful musician. They want to encourage you. They want you to learn and prosper. The employees are very educated in their departments and the instruments they play and specify by. When it comes to repairs, all three departments (Piano, Guitar/Bass/Percussion, Band & Orchestra) have luthiers either in store, or on call. You can always call the store if youd prefer to set up a time and date.I personally play guitar, and Id never take my guitar anywhere else for tune-ups, repairs, and guitar accessories. Again, not naming names, but the technician for guitars basses any instrument that is centrally dealing with strings, (I.e Banjo, Mandolin) is a Fender Certified Guitar Technician. In a nutshell, you wont be taking your Gibson Les Paul Custom to a 23 year old rookie who lied on his resume and got the job. He is one of the most friendly, talented, professional individuals Ive met. When your guitar is sick, call The Doctor

What an awesome program they have in the summer for students! The summer road map encouraged my son to really put in effort practicing over the summer, and the prizes were good incentives, especially considering that the program was free, and he wasnt even required to be someone who rents from them! (We dont)I also found that they had a selection of sheet music books for various interments on clearance for half price, which was really fun to look through.

Working with Patrick Downing to purchase a piano at the Moline location was a great experience! This piano was a surprise Christmas gift with a complex plan needed to pull off the surprise. Patrick was able to make everything happen perfectly within a tight timeframe. He is the best! If you are in the market for a piano, go no farther than West Music Moline...if you’re not in Moline, get there to talk with Patrick for your new piano!
