I absolutely loved visiting the Watchung Bookstore! I found a book for my daughter which I had been searching for the longest and was thrilled I found the paperback copy of -Room On The Broom. As a montclair resident I love supporting small businesses and will be going back for all my future reading needs! Everything is immaculate with super friendly assistance.

Lovely bookstore. My daughter suggested we take a drive and find it. Lots of stock. Everything from Childrens to New Age to Cooking. It is a really well laid out store. Lots of metered street parking available. Definitely worth a stop.

This local book store is such a cute place... right by the train station and ‘local’ coffee shop it’s a recipe for a nice morning or afternoon.I also recently attended a wonderful outdoor book signing by Jeff Kinney (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) with my son and it was wonderful. The staff was so well organized and the whole experience was warm and nicely socially distanced. Clap off to Jeff and the staff of Watchung Booksellers for putting all that together ♥️

I am a CRAZY AVID READER. First time in this bookstore. Love the diversity of books throughout genres especially YA - young adult. Nice for Black youth to see themselves represented on the covers and in the stories.

Support your local book shops! My daughter and I love this little store. If they dont have it in stock they can get it. Were learning to plan ahead.

The breadth and depth of the inventory is marvelous. I have not been this inspired by a bookstore in years. I left with an armful of books and cant wait to go back.

Books, they have books here, lots of books. Friendly staff, welcoming decor and a nice, tranquil haven. My daughter demands to go here every time we are at watchung Plaza.

My favorite book store in the area! Very cute and cozy space, helpful staff, and great selection.

We saw David Sedaris - not a reading, just a signing. But I love this little gem of a bookstore that is independent and supports small artists (like me - I did my book launch there) and major artists like David Sedaris.

Nice people running a rare, truly community-focused bookstore. And for a smallish place theyve got a surprisingly interesting selection for both adults and kids.Plus they will order books for you.

Great selections; helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly staff; all led by an amazing owner. This is a Montclair institution that collaborates with an amazing number of local groups.

I love this place. Im so sad that it is closed. The staff is so knowledgeable, friendly and playful. Many Fridays my great-nephew and I would come in and read the various child books and occasionally buy one. Such a comfy place to discover the world of books.

The space is a little small but cozy, and the staff is extremely nice. They even have tags on their display books to help you decide what to read, and have no problem with you reading in-store.

Did some last minute Xmas shopping at this hidden gem. I’m so happy I found this place! The staff were so pleasant and helpful, even with a jam-packed store full of stressed-out procrastinators. I can’t wait to come back after the holidays to try the cafe that is connected to the store!! This will definitely be a regular hangout for me from here on out.

This is not a vast, cavern of a bookstore, but a perfect local book seller. The book choices are excellent (if not exhaustive), but where Watchung Booksellers has always excelled has been the service. The staff are knowledgeable, and good listeners, and make great recommendations.Theres always something going on, too - author talks and signings, so its worth checking out.

Nice little bookstore with a cafe

I always enjoy my time here. But because its tucked in a corner of Watchung Plaza, I tend to forget about it. But thats on me, not the store.

There are so many cute things to buy here for yourself or the book lover in your life. There is a great selection of titles here and friendly staff who gift wrap your purchases for free.

Such a great bookstore! They have a smaller, but very well curated selection of books, gifts and other fun accessories, and a café inside the same store front. They also do a weekly story time in their childrens section. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, and a cozy atmosphere too!

I love the old school bookshelf aesthetic. They also leave little notes for their recommended books. There’s an area for little kids to read as well. A cafe is connected to it as well.

What a local bookstore should be. Comfortable spot with well-curated selection and very nice kids reading area. They regularly have book signings and reading events, especially for kids.

This is a gem. A true independent store, which has something for everyone. The owner Margot knows her audience well, and she and her staff have curated a selection which is really “best of the best”. They stock books you have never heard of, which turn out to be must reads. There are always author readings and signings. The large children’s section is a must for parents and young readers of any age. Go have some fun, browsing. A Montclair, NJ, certified treasure.

As a bibliophile there is not a book that I can not find at this book store. I have spent hours at a time perusing the shelves and being awed by the growing selection. A very competent and friendly staff makes this relaxing book store a piece of heaven and a great place to relax and read.

This is a sunny, friendly place where you can indulge your love of books of all kinds. The staff is helpful and efficient, the selection suited to Montclair tastes, and you often meet a friend there, or somebody who might become your friend. They have a yummy cafe now, which is a great addition.

Weve been going to Watchung booksellers for years. Its exactly what you would want and expect from a local bookstore. Very helpful, welcoming and of great assistance. Weve been going there since my kids were little (teenagers now) and I really think the attention and atmosphere at WBS helped to make them avid readers. The kids always looked forward to a trip to the bookstore. If you need a book that they dont have, theyll get it for you within 24 hours usually. Theyve partnered with kobo for e-books, which is where I now get books for my nook. Id rather support my local store than Amazon or B&N.
