I searched for a wedding dress and went to many different places to shop, but my experience at Bridal Atelier Montclair was set apart from the rest because of their quality of gowns and personalized experience. Rachel is a bridal gown expert- she listens intently to your wants, gives her advice on sizing, customizing, and delivering the vision you have for the gown of your dreams. Her and her team make you feel relaxed during the process and truly care about their clients. Their seamstress, Deb worked wonders. How do I even begin to thank Bridal Atelier?! They were not only an amazing vendor to work with but every time I went in for a fitting, I felt like I was among friends. Not to mention, Rachel, Kaelyn, and Deb are so incredibly knowledgeable about all things wedding gowns! I started my search at a different dress shop in southern NJ and I was beyond disappointed. More than one appointment was happening at once, the dresses were cheap, I felt rushed, etc. But when I went to Bridal Atelier in Montclair for my first appointment after that, what a world of difference! They give brides the attention they deserve with one appointment at a time and you never feel rushed or like someone is forcing you to buy a dress that youre not totally convinced with. I had one idea of what I wanted and of course ultimately went with the exact opposite style but Rachel and team had the foresight to know and understand what I was looking for. I first tried on a gown with straps by Savin London and I loved everything about it except I wanted a strapless dress. Sure enough, Bridal Atelier had the same style gown by the same designer but without the straps and the second I put it on, I was in love. Going back for fittings was a dream and Deb worked that dress until it truly fit me like a glove. What an incredible experience I had with them. I love them and cannot recommend Bridal Atelier Montclair enough!

My first appointment at Bridal Atelier Montclair was in January of 2021 for my October wedding. Rachel (owner) and Kaelyn (FAB gown consultant) were so incredibly welcoming and helpful and the boutique is adorably designed! They only take one appointment at a time so you get a totally focused, private experience while you are trying on dresses! The designer selection is also great, there is a good range of styles for each designer from the more classic cuts and fabrics to the more modern ones, too. It is the perfect amount so to not feel overwhelmed by the selection. During the appointment itself, Kaelyn truly listened to what I was looking for. I had my heart set on one designer, and upon trying on the dresses, I didnt get the feeling I was hoping for. Understanding my vision, Kaelyn used her experience to pull some additional gowns by a few other designers which I ended up absolutely loving and going with! I actually visited a couple other boutiques after Bridal Atelier Montclair, trying on some of the same dresses I wore there, and because of the amazing experience, decided to return to Montclair to make my final purchase. Rachel absolutely has a system in place to get your fittings/accessories sorted ahead of your big day. I had to change my first of three alternation sessions and they were SO accommodating despite their busy schedule. Deb (seamstress) was so efficient and amazing, really making sure I would be comfortable on my big day! I also ended up purchasing my veil here and am planning to have my gown cleaned and preserved through the team as well. I would absolutely recommend visiting Bridal Atelier Montclair. They do an amazing job creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere for your appointment and a great job getting what you need ahead of your big day.

The shop carries a wide variety of gowns, but it was easy to find the one with Rachels expert help and advice. I never even expected to find the dress at this shop (I was sure Id find it in NYC at a designers shop), but the quality of the dresses they carry and the sales experience convinced me to go with my favorite dress at Bridal Atelier Montclair. Rachel was in close communication with me after we ordered my dress, and even helped me make some styling decisions via email for pieces I was considering buying. I was so indecisive about my veil and had some dress/body insecurities along the way, but Rachel always made me feel comfortable and helped guide my decision making. After my dress came in we had three fittings with the shops seamstress, Deb, who did such a wonderful job tailoring my very simple, clean dress to my figure. I have scoliosis and was anticipating requiring a lot of tailoring to make everything look right, but Deb made it look so easy, and the final result was just stunning. Ive never felt more beautiful! Rachel and Deb were truly such a great team and as a local resident, it was nice to give them my business. Im sad that I wont have reason to go into the store anymore, but Ill always look forward to walking by and seeing what beautiful dresses they have in the window.

Shopped here with my daughter, we shopped here because of the good reviews and the people who say that they were showed beautiful gowns. My daughter wanted a long sleeve fitted gown but our sytelist lauren didnt show her one long sleeve fitted gown and began with showing only full skirted dresses. Which was not what she wanted. The other person there- forgot name- finally showed us long sleeve that was what we wanted to see. our sytlist didnt listen to what we wanted and cut my daughter off each time she started answering question. the dresses were pretty but we will not go back. if you go, ask to not have lauren as your styleist.

Bridal Atelier Montclair was everything I had dreamed of for wedding dress shopping. I knew I wanted to see Flora dresses and it was super easy to make an appointment. The appointments are one on one which was really nice because Rachel walked you through every step. Once I found my dress, everything went so smoothly. Timing was perfect and Rachel updated me when the dress was delivered, and when alterations should begin. I decided to do my alterations there as well because I trusted Rachel and the highest standards at Bridal Atelier Montclair. Debbie was amazing and worked magic on my alterations. I said yes to my dress at Bridal Atelier Montclair, and it was the best decision I could have made. To start, the boutique is absolutely beautiful. Every detail is thought out, and you can see the love and passion that Rachel has put into her space. Second, Rachel, Kaelyn, and Deb are three absolutely incredible women who have created such a wonderful environment for other women to come and find the dress that was meant for them! I went there having a specific dress in mind, but I knew i needed to try on more than one dress. Rachel and Kaelyn were there with me and were SO kind, and treated me like a friend while trying on the different dresses. They were honest and open, but not pushy in the slightest. And they gave me the perfect amount of opinion on the gowns, while also helping me to see on my own which dress I felt like ME in. Of course, I ended up going with the dress I went there specifically for! The entire experience with them was incredible, especially being a bride in the midst of COVID. They laid out all of the information as to how it would work and when my dress would come in, so I never felt myself wondering what the next step would be! After purchasing my gown, Rachel called me a few days later to update me. She had spoken directly to the designer, Sareh Nouri, and shared with her photos of me in the trial gown. Together, they decided to make my gown in a petite version so that it would fit me perfectly. I was so happily shocked to hear the amount of effort and care that went into this dress being made for me. Rachel truly went above and beyond! Once my dress came in, Rachel called me and of course I had to tell her we had postponed. We ended up postponing our wedding twice, and Rachel made the entire process so easy, even storing my gown in her gorgeous boutique until it was time for my alterations. This is when I got to see Deb’s expertise come out! Deb is the seamstress with Bridal Atelier, and she did an AMAZING job on my gown. At first, she asked me if there was anything I wanted to fit differently before she started making the alterations she knew the dress needed. She was open to my thoughts and worked with me to make this gown fit like a glove! Rachel was always present at my alteration appointments as well, and she remained incredible and helpful and kind throughout. Deb helped not only with the alterations themselves, but also with suggesting the best fit/style for spanx/undergarments under my dress. She also ensured that my maid of honor was at the last fitting so she could teach her how to bustle my dress so it was quick and easy the day of! One of the benefits of dealing with a small bridal boutique is the level of personalization and attention you receive, and Bridal Atelier Montclair is truly unmatched in that regard. In addition to having the boutique to yourself for both the initial appointment and subsequent fittings, they are in constant communication with you throughout the process. This was particularly important last year, when my wedding was postponed, cancelled, then rescheduled due to the pandemic - their team was extremely kind, understanding, and incredibly helpful in navigating everything. Despite being small, they have a large selection of dresses, which I also appreciated. The cherry on top is that everyone was simply lovely to deal with - youll get to know the team well over the course of your wedding prep and theyre fantastic people. Highly recommend!

Rachel and her team are amazing!!!! I had to find a dress during mid-july right in the heat of COVID. Since they are a smaller shop this worked out perfectly!! One bride at a time and you can try everything on (which is what I did. I went to a few bridal shops before landing on this one, I was looking for a very simple and sleek dress. Rachel did her absolute best pulling every Anne Barge dress so I can try them- I ended up finding the most perfect dress/cape/veil. My entire wedding was raving about the dress!!!!!! I wanted a private and luxurious experience for my bridal gown search. My first and only stop was Bridal Atelier. Rachel only takes one bride at a time in her beautiful bridal boutique, so you have the whole place to yourself. Beforehand we talked about what I was looking for and then we started going through the collections together. I think the third dress I ended up trying on was the one. It actually looked unimpressive to me on the hanger, but since it was in the silhouette I was looking for, I went with it. Always try it on, you never know. Because of my size/fit in formal gowns, I was nervous that the bust would be way too big in my size and skew the proportions of my dress. Rachel listened to my concerns and offered to reach out to the designer (Romona Keveza) to ask about custom sizing. They agreed and when the dress came in, it needed minimal alterations. Throughout the process, if there was anything I noticed that I thought needed to be changed, Rachel & Deb listened to me and made sure it was done. The dress fit me like an absolute glove and was the most flattering and beautiful dress I have worn, ever. I got so many compliments on how it was the perfect dress for me. I also got my veil and sash there and loved both. Everything went together perfectly. I would recommend Bridal Atelier to any bride who wants a private & personalized experience. I went in with an idea of what I wanted my gown to look like and she quickly grasped my idea and selected 6 beautiful gowns for me to try on! After I tried my second gown on, I knew that I had found the right one. I had found my dress and decided that I wanted to make some customizations to really make it unique and Rachel was there to help me concept ideas. My wedding dress search included boutiques in Los Angeles, NYC and NJ, and Bridal Atelier Montclair was hands-down *THE BEST* of every place we visited. From the moment you walk into Bridal Atelier, you feel like royalty, privately browsing the most incredible gowns on the planet. The owner Rachel took care of me herself and is knowledgable on every aspect of bridal gown design and fit. She is incredibly kind and thoughtful and made the stress of the process melt away. The selection of gowns is gorgeous and unique -- stuff that is very hard to find anywhere else. She can tell you everything about the construction of the dress and other factors to consider and appreciate about each garment. Through the fitting purchase she brought out different accessories and undergarments for each gown so we could get a proper sense of how the dress should look, move, and feel. I cannot say enough good things. A wedding dress is an important purchase and big investment and I cannot imagine a better experience or trusting any owner/stylist/boutique more.

I’m so happy with my decision to get my wedding dress at Bridal Atelier. They create such an intimate experience where the bride and her guests are the only ones in the store for each appt. Kaelyn was my stylist and by just a few questions knew exactly the type of dresses to recommend for me to try on! She was so professional and my family loved her! They have a beautiful selection of dresses which are very unique to what you see in other bridal stores. They made the appts fun and easy and were very good about adhering to Covid guidelines which was especially important since my 87 year old grandmother was with us. I can’t wait for my dress to come in and go back for all my fittings!

Rachel and her team at Bridal Atelier are phenomenal--professional, warm and kind, and very competent. From the beginning, Rachel curated gowns that fit my body type and she was able to order my dress on a shorter timeline when many other shops laughed at me for suggesting I had 7 months. That said, we had to cancel our wedding because of the pandemic and there were a few months where our plans were completely up in the air; Rachel and her team were reassuring, flexible, and made me feel like I was in control and things would work out. The dress itself is spectacular and fit perfectly (her seamstress is great) which speaks to Rachels eye for unique designers and details. Highly recommend Bridal Atelier Montclair!

I really enjoyed the one on one appointments, the champagne when you found your dress truly made you feel like the one and only bride!! I had no idea what I wanted when I walked in but she helped me navigate and I found the perfect dress for my special day. Also, her seamstress and other employees were also amazing. Bridal Atelier is not your typical wedding dress shop. This was the second place I went to while shopping for my dress and I knew as soon as I walked in that I would find my dress here. I had a very overwhelming experience at the first place I went to but Rachel and her team made everything feel so easy and made me comfortable. I cannot begin to express how incredibly wonderful my experience was at Bridal Atelier and how grateful I am to have had Rachel help me through the entire process. Initially, I was nervous about wedding dress shopping, but from the moment I walked into the shop I felt completely at ease and truly enjoyed my time there. I absolutely loved working with Rachel at the Bridal Atelier in Montclair. She has such a beautifully curated shop, and creates such a warm, special and inviting experience for her brides. I always felt so taken care of when visiting! I loved when I came for fittings that I was the only bride there, and my family could really make themselves at home while waiting and helping me with my fittings. A wonderful shop to find your just-right wedding dress! They have a beautiful collection of dresses with a variety of styles but happily, you will not be overwhelmed by too many choices like in larger shops. It is a true boutique experience. Rachel, the owner, is extremely warm and professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. She was always reachable by email or phone and everything about scheduling appointments was low-stress. I felt so comfortable every time I was in the shop as did the people who joined me for appointments. I should also say that Bridal Atelier works with an amazing tailor - the dress fit like a glove. My mother even used Deb to tailor her dress for the big day!I truly found the unique dress that fit my personality and style and Im very grateful to Rachel for her help. My first appointment was just to look at dresses and after I walked in (with my mom and my sister) Rachel actually locked the door behind us so that we had the place to ourselves. She gave us her undivided attention. Rachel is the perfect person in that shes not pushy with the dresses, she offers her opinion when asked and she really knows her stuff. She appreciates the beauty of her dresses and you can tell that shes just super passionate about the dresses and her brides! I tried on four dresses, and the fourth dress was the one! I found the most beautiful dress at Bridal Atelier Montclair after searching for months at other stores in NJ/NYC. I loved how small the shop was so you dont feel overwhelmed yet they had a large collection of beautiful and unique dresses! I was married for the second time around in June 2018. Since, I was an older bride, I wanted to look beautiful but wanted a private experience in beautiful surroundings. I found Rachel on line and was quite the fortunate customer! Rachel was honest, knowledgeable and professional and helped me find the dress of my dreams! The store has the feel of an upscale Soho environment. My appointments were private and personal. No young brides with an entourage! The seamstress was superb as well. Rachel promised the dress to be finished on a certain date & she certainly delivered on her promise. Forget Kleinfeld’s and some the larger bridal stores . It’s worth your time to work with a professional who knows her business . The quality and styling of the designers that Rachel uses is worth the price . I originally went there for a trunk show because it was the only shop in NJ affiliated with Flora Bridal, a dress designer that I discovered on social media and loved. What I found exceeded my expectations: the dress of my dreams plus consistent support, enthusiasm, and attention to detail from the Bridal Atelier team from that day to my final fitting. Rachel (the shops owner) has excellent taste, which is reflected in the assortment of gowns she carries and her advice on accessories/styling. She also works with a really talented seamstress that altered the delicate fabric of my dress with aplomb. Together, they packaged my gown and prepared it for shipping to my wedding locale in California, where it arrived in tip-top condition. If you want a wonderful dress, and to be surrounded by a team of individuals who love design and are truly invested in you feeling your best on your wedding day, Bridal Atelier Montclair is the way to go.

Ive had such a wonderful bridal experience working with Rachel at this salon. She has been a pleasure from day one. Super organized, easily accessible and provided answers to all of my questions, and keeps all scheduled appointments private - so you really get her undivided attention. Rachel never pushed anything on me. She listened to what I had envisioned and wanted to try. When asked, she would give her opinion and really showed her expertise. To top it off, once I said yes to the dress, she offered a champagne toast which made the event even more special. She helped me pick out the perfect veil, too! When you know, you know. Im not just talking about my husband to be, but rather when I found Bridal Atelier, regardless of even trying on a dress, I knew I wanted to purchase my dress from Rachel. Ive been watching Say Yes to the Dress for years, and as fun as it is to watch, going through that overwhelming experience was something I did NOT want when it came to looking for a wedding dress. BA was my first bridal shop I ever visited and I bought my dress that very day. I tried on a handful of dresses, all beautiful and thoughtfully selected by Rachel to have in her store. When we walked in, I saw the gorgeous Amy Kuschel dress I selected on the mannequin and knew it was the one before even trying it on! The heart of this store is the owner Rachel. She puts so much love into what she does and is so incredibly thoughtful of the pieces she selects. She has Sunday appointments which is great for anyone who may work in the city M-F and makes it such a comfortable environment and exclusive to boot. During my dress hunt, she locked the front door and dedicated her full self to myself and my Mom/Sis who came with me. Rachel kept me posted on the status of my dress the whole way and has personal relationships with many of the designers as well.Alterations were the best part of the wedding process actually. We had three total sessions and each time, I grew more and more excited. My first fitting I came by myself and Rachel served as my cheerleader, friend and big sister almost, all the while keeping an expert eye on every little detail. My seamstress Deb, has an amazing eye for every little detail- from shoes to undergarments, every detail was planned out and nothing left to chance as it would impact the dress. (FYI ladies, Skinny Britches are a game changer for form fitting dresses that show everything!).My wedding is in less than ten days, but Ive been on cloud nine since my last fitting. Rachel and her entire staff made me feel like a real life princess and treated me as they would their own family.
