Star scrap metal I remember going to this place when they were on the 5 freeway when I used to live in La Mirada 35-40 years ago with my dad today I call to find out pricing and the young lady who is very polite said I couldnt bring down my recycling because star scrap is not accepting private individuals recycling only industrial customers. I called ecology and they are ready to take my recyclables. What a Sad State of Affairs weve become due to this covid. A recycling center lol who just crashed and burned. Congratulations

Great service once you get here. This place was hard to find. And the roads getting in are rough. I much preferred the La Miranda location, but the freeway took it!

Great company. They picked up the bins and paid the next day. You dont even have to lift a finger! Their drivers were super friendly and their prices are better than the last scrap guy I used.

My company had some old stuff we didnt need anymore. We decided to look into recycling and it turned out to be worth a lot of money rather than just trashing it. The people at Star Scrap took care of it for us and had great customer service. I would definitely go back and recommend other to use them as well!

I called about 5-6 places and even though the drive was farther it was worth the extra money. When I got there I had a lot of space to pull around and it was clean and the girls were friendly. I didnt really know that places could be this good since I usually just went to a place right down the street from me. Its really cool to see the whole process of what they do, something that you could see on discovery channel

Bad company stay away got rip off twice and the last time we still have not seen our cash or check for the large bin taken over a month ago. Called the vice president and he tells me that they sent a truck to pick up scrap and it was a wasted trip to it would off set the cost of what ever money was coming back to us and i still did not get a amount. I was told that we did not generate enough and sounded like a tough customer so he no longer wanted to do buissnes with us and hung up on me. 5-14-2019

Wow horrible customer service. Employee from the very beginning started talking down to me as if my mere presence was an offense. I was raised in Texas so I behaved politely & in turn was given snotty childish comments. Then I was rewarded with an attempt at being robbed. Obviously I will never do business with this company. This is a shady environment to begin with. A large percentage of the clients are drug addicts & thiefs so I can understand why recycling places would get fed up with people & try to rob anyone they can.... Or they could just get an honest job at a place they liked working at with clients they enjoyed being around? Although I have a feeling by the attitude of the man I spoke with he feeds of the negativity & suffering of others like a virus. This is the case with most bitter Amorrel con artist who believe they are geniuses because they have gotten away with conning a few desperate people.

I took some aluminum things and some metal and got only $ 3 I did not like my amount for all the things I took. Will NOT go their ever again. Rep off

The people with the bad reviews must be from the competition. Ive done business here plenty of times and never had a bad experience. I also shop prices and Star Metals is always at the top. If you dont like the pricing no one is holding a gun to your head. You can take your business some where else. And last but not least, to the reviewer who said I was thinking my scrap was worth $140 bucks, but they gave me $75, dude its obvious thinking is gonna get you in trouble every time.

I pack the cans inplastic bags that hold 112 cans and I count them when I load the bagsin order to fill each bag full.. I bring in 4 to 5 bags every 2 to 3weeks. Your people treat me nice and the price is OK.But your yard is like a battlefield with huge trucks and loaderseverywhere. This last trip on Monday Dec. 23 at 4 PM I was waitingat the stop sign for some one to wave me on (the red light neverchanges to green) when a huge truck and trailer pulled in to my leftthen cut over a little leaving a narrow space to get by. After a longwait with no cars ahead of me I tried to pull forward but it was soclose I got my right rearview mirror caught on a bin and broken. OKthat does it for me I will not bed back.Also I had a cupon for $2.05. I had 4 bags = 448 cans I got paid$24.60 at 5 cents a can I would have gotten $22.40. a small differenceof $2.20 . There was a time when I was paid over 6 cents a can. Nowyour yard does not pay much more then any other yard soGOODBYE I will replace the mirror and I will not be back unless youcan fix it so it will not happen again.Donald Blumberg

These guys are no better than those cash for gold crooks. not only did they pay 50% of going market rate, they kindly omitted the copper i brought in from a alternator rotor and dryer motor. Although not much to them, it obviously was to me. Thanks for screwing me and losing a life customer and any referrals i woulda had. I just had my first encounter with stars recycle off of firestone... I would say never go back to this garbage of hole! I take my materials to recycle of 55 pounds of bright and shinny copper. The person who weighted it out, writes it as copper 2 and doesnt say what he did except(hands me a recipe says,pull around to cashier)? So when i went to cashier, i find out what he wrote it at copper two, i asked why, its so shinny you can see your refection in it? So i asked for my material back and a manger(with tattoos on both arms says, go back around and will work something out? So i went around and asked why is it at copper 2? It took 5 minutes, three people to give me a response. The only white guy walks up and says its too thin of a wire when refined it burns off 20 percent, so that is why they wrote it at copper two.So what i learned is instead of them telling me up front and whats going on about the process with stars metals, they pushed a shiest on me. i was thinking around 140 bucks for that copper, i was handed 75 dollars. So even if the white guy with the beard was telling the truth about the 20 percent burn off of the thin wire that makes it 44 pounds of copper at 2.55 comes to 112. They wrote it at copper 2 at 1.43 pound and hand me 76 dollars and change. lol, what a business amazed they been in business for so long? What a hell of a deal for them to have people bringing them material and steal 40 percent of it, with a smile. Owe when they gave me my material back they gave me 54 pounds, so they got 1 pound of it for free. Use your brain, dont waist your time with this trash dump, bring your concrete and trash from home to recycle here, cause if they steal it,like they tried on me, they get what they deserve.. trash!!

Always feel good about recycling here because they will work with me and make sure I get the price that I want. The only downside is they arent open on sundays.

Ive been going there for about 4-5 years,but now they are moving to a new location. so dont go to location it is closed due to move.
