They were out of most flavors by the time we arrived. To be fair, we got there at 8:15 and they closed at 8:30. I felt like I was given what I was promised - a sweet, decent cup of soft serve ice cream.

Great flavors. Their smallest size is the Little Softee and is about 4 dollars and is good enough for a couple to share if they dont want too much. Tofu Flower and Hokkaido Milk Tea were both excellent.

How many times have I been to Big Softee? I have no idea at this point, but this is where we take all of our friends from out of town. Where else can you get Asian inspired soft serve flavors like salted egg custard (salted caramel is still all the rage but I say this flavor is better) and tofu flower but also get classics like chocolate that are just as good? And it isnt a gimmick, they do these flavors well and they taste like what theyre called. Tofu flower can be a tad bit too gingery for those who may find issue with that but you still get all the flavors youd expect from the real thing. For me, salted egg custard is the way to go!Tip: ask what swirl flavor they have that day.

Unique and nostalgic soft serve flavors that are very true to their origins. I was so impressed by how accurate the flavors are. The shop is really cute, drawing inspiration from vintage Hong Kong era.The salted egg custard was great, the Hong Kong milk tea was even better. I’ll be back to try all the flavors.

One of my favorite ice cream shops. My favorite flavors so far has been the Salted Egg custard and the Lychee Calpico. Its cheap (~$3 for the little softee) and you get a generous amount. You also get a lot of toppings if you order one of their sundaesHaving rotating flavors is both a good and a bad thing. Good because you get to try new flavors. Bad because is you are craving your favorite flavor you might have to wait a long time. I usually just have to wait for them to announce flavors I like or interested in on Instagram before I decide to go.

I love Big Softee and I am so glad they decided to open back up again because going to their location is easier then ever and parking is a dream during Covid. Pre Covid this lot is terrible and I would always pray to the parking Gods before heading out. I loved my jasmine milk tea and tofu flower soft serve. My cousin liked her Jasmine Milk Tea soft serve and as I write this I think I should go because its Sunday and they are open.

This place was okay. Had some Asian influenced flavors that were interesting. Tofu flower and hk milk tea. The flavors were good when you sample them, but once you got 5 bites in the flavors were a little over whelming. The Jefferson with red beans and vanilla was not bad. I hear they have one that tastes like egg tarts, but they didnt have it this time. Might have to come back and try that flavor. Everything else was just okay.

What a great place for ice cream in the San Gabriel Valley... I am surprised that they also have a good selection for sundaes and drinks too... I came back a week later and they have new things not on the menu... Not sure if it is supposed to be a secret menu but their BURNT TOFU is out if this world.... A must...

I’m so glad I got to check out this place. The flavors were a delight and where can you get salted egg custard and matcha almond or viet coffee. The staff let us sample the flavors. I only wished the cups were bigger for the big size since it looked comparable to the small. There is seating in the shop and in this cute plaza area.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! The shop is small but full of spirit! There are lots of yummy flavors from black sesame to pandan to dragon fruit floats. A big plus is that they always have a vegan option or two. So if you are meeting up with friends to have a sweet treat there is something for everyone💛 If you are ever curious about the flavors of the day they keep their Instagram stories updated, so you can scope what you want before you go😉

I’m pretty sure I come here way too much but I love their ice cream! I’m thankful that they have Delicious vegan soy milk ice cream for the times I’m not feeling dairy. The flavors are creative and good quality Asian flavors. I follow them on social media as well and they’re really on top of posting great content daily. The workers have been wonderful from the day I went at their grand opening to today. If you’re around, definitely give this place a shot! Their daily flavors are always on their instagram story and they always have fun new flavors coming out every few weeks.

I came to Big Softee with friend who has dairy-free restrictions. I was hoping they would have more options for her but was still thankful that they had a black sesame soy flavor.I went with the coconut taro flavor, it was incredibly creamy! I was surprised that my friends soy soft serve was also very creamy and thick in texture. A small Softee (the size I got) cost about $3.75 and was a decent sized portion. I was a little disappointed by their small range of choice. There were only 4 options: black sesame soy, taro coconut, Japanese pumpkin and vanilla. The menu was, however, more extensive than just soft serve. They had sundaes, teas and coffees. I will be coming back hopefully :)

Good selection of tasty ice creams, with flavors that are unique to this shop, like Salted Egg Custard, or Tahitian Vanilla. They have a great variety of toppings, with sprinkles being free with purchase of either small or large cup. A large helping is given in either size; they do a lot to make your experience there enjoyable. Staff is friendly, and there is some seating inside.

A great place for Asian inspired soft-serve dessert. Check out their Instagram page for current flavors which change frequently. Very friendly staff and locally owned (Yea! For the small business owners). Love this place - its a regular Top 10 place to eat for many lists these days - LA Times, Eater, etc.

Hours are not correctly listed on google maps page. Went here on a Tuesday evening at 7:45 and they were completely shut down—window shades drawn down, closed sign up, and no hours listed, hence the low rating. After going on a night on which it was open during its regular hours, it was pretty good. Would go again.

Ice cream is good, ask for a sample. They mix up new flavors every couple weeks. Some of their sundaes are on the sweet side. Im knocking one star of because Ive been there a couple times and they use some industrial cleaner or something that makes it smell like restroom cleaner, thats just unappetizing to me.

Love the flavors. Ice cream was amazing. My only feedback would be that it was hollow in the middle, so it looks fuller then it really was? Idk if they still do that since i was there a few months ago, but texture and taste was great!

Small little shop with some bar seats. Came a few minutes before they opened and there were people already waiting in line. Very attentive and enthusiastic about letting you sample their flavors. They had some unique Asian flavors like salted egg yolk and tofu flower and they were pretty true to taste! I just wish their flavor menu was also written on the big menu board rather than just a small one at the counter so I dont have to wait until Im near the counter to see what flavors they have.

You may not think that soft serve would be a staple of your typical trip to Monterey Park, but once you visit this place, it will be. Big Softees curated menu of unique and delicious cold treats should be on everyones dessert list.Big Softee switches out flavors but keeps a signature Tahitian Vanilla and even though you can and should sample all the flavors, most will just go for this. It may be vanilla but its anything but plain - a subtle wonder of sweetness that stands out from the rest. But the other offerings are always interesting. One week brought a tofu flavor which felt exactly like soy - another an incredible Rosy lychee which exploded with tartness. They also have a thing for tea based flavors like matcha and chai which have an authentic tea aftertaste for those who want it. Every visit will almost certainly bring new flavors to try which is sure to keep you returning.Theres basically no downside here. For those averse to ice cream theres a lovely mochi cake on menu as well as some coffees. The service I nice the atmosphere is pleasant and even parking is pretty easily accessible. Try this out next time youre in the area - it really is a treat

Hojicha is my favorite flavor. It was a strong tea flavor. I got to sample most of the flavors (two people getting two sample cups each). The soft serve is light and you dont feel all gross afterwards. All of the flavors pretty much taste like what they are. I wished the taro coconut flavor tasted more like taro. It had a more coconut flavor. I wish they had red bean as a topping because it would go great with the hojicha. I wanted a topping, but nothing sounded appealing or seemed like it would go well with it, maybe except boba. But if I wanted boba, I would get a drink, not my ice cream.

I was super excited to hear about this place. Theyve got some fresh Asian specialty flavor ice creams. We tried Hong Kong milk tea, raspberry lychee rose ice cream, and tofu flower ice cream. I was really hoping for the Hong Kong tea ice cream but since their ice cream flavors rotate from time to time, Id have to come back to try again. If HK style milk tea is your thing, theirs is legit. (It does taste different from your normal boba milk tea) The ice cream flavors were really special. Their tofu flower ice cream ( their signature flavor) was fantastic.... but this is not your average ice cream place. So dont come here expecting the American style ice cream parlor sizzle.
