I visited the Ulta store in Montgomery, AL at 8:30pm on Oct. 29, 2021 to return some items. I was watching the associate ring in the items and I noticed there was one item more than showing on the screen. I asked the associate, Samille, if we were missing an item. I asked her THREE TIMES and she ignored my question all three times. The fourth time I asked, she said, no its all here without actually verifying anything. After the transaction was complete, I took my receipts and started driving home. At 8:55pm, I get a call from Jasmine and she said, Can you come back? Well, maybe tell me WHY for starters? She tells me that it looks like Samille did not ring up one of my returned items. I told her, I asked her if that was what happened, and she ignored me like I wasnt even speaking to her. Jasmines response was It was an honest mistake. NO! An honest mistake would have been if she noticed it happened one of the many times I asked. Instead, she pretended like I was not even speaking to her and forced me to drive all the way back to the store to fix the problem I tried asking about when I was there. I would have complained to the GM Justin, but he was the one that processed the return when I had to come back and he made no attempt to apologize or ask what happened. This is far from the first time I have had issues with rude and untrained employees, but this visit was ridiculous. The attitudes and mediocrity at this store are exhausting.

Walked in with my girlfriend today to get two bottles of Gio one as a gift and one for myself. First they were out of most of the size bottles so we opted for one. My girlfriend wanted me to smell the juicy couture, the bottle was old and smelled sour. Admitted the employees assisting us so we asked is there any other way for us to test it. No they have to order the sample bottles. Do have the roll one? Yes.. can we test it on a paper tester? No!! So need less to say obviously they weren’t concerned about make the sale to us. Surely if i liked the smell of the Juicy we would have made the purchase duh.andddd Ulta makes another sell!

Tisha (I think thats her name) in the makeup section is the sweetest! She matched me to the perfect color foundation just by looking at me, and she chatted with me about life. Shes a beautiful soul, and I hope she gets a promotion or something one day because she deserves it!

This review is for the online service, versus this store specifically. I am completely appalled by the complete lack of customer service. I placed an order and the shipping address was wrong due to an Apple Pay flaw. I immediately notified them in writing of the error and followed up with a phone call to the call center. I was told that Ulta did not allow them to update anything on the order. As a result, they not only shipped my order to the wrong address but are refusing to contact the shipper to correct or provide me a courtesy refund. I was extremely proactive in trying to make the correction and their only suggestion was to hope the person at that address would return my item out of the kindness of their heart. Absolutely ridiculous.

I only go here because my girlfriend likes to go here. She likes it so it gets 5 Stars from me.

Really great location. Easy to find. The staff is incredibly helpful and VERY nice. I was waiting on a friend in the store and they offered water while I waited. Some products looked sold out/picked over, but there was a massive sale going on and the service made up for anything that might have fallen short.

They helped me with my prom makeup and I looked amazing. The gave me the exact look I wanted for prom natural but beautiful and sparkly. And every product I got there is and has been very helpful and awesome.

I was looking for a specific item and the Ulta employee was very helpful. I find they are all helpful but not pushy about sales and I very much appreciate that. I love the new brands they are bringing in and the new layout.

They have been so wonderful to me there. I had gastric sleeve surgery and they help me find skin product for me and at 60 plus weight loss I needed help. The salon staff is the bomb love Monica. The manager is the greatest will take the time to stop and listen to your needs. Thanks you guys for everything.

I was told at the ULTA store that my Platinum points COULD NOT be used in the store, ONLY on line. Staff IGNORE customers, all grouped together chatting and making personal phone calls. Im a disabled veteran so its hard to miss me, my red powerchair and my service dog. The isles are packed with display cases, even EMPTY displays, so navigating the maze of the store! I ordered online, but could only use $86 of my points which were $125! Personally, I was belittled, ignored and lied to, ULTA needs to come up with some samples or free items! I cant wait to pay off that ULTA card and close it. This was only my 3rd visit to that store. The first time, my service dog was killed just outside the ULTA by a distracted driver I just saw check out in front of me in that ULTA. The 2nd visit the hair color was left in so long, that when the stylist touched the foils, clumps of hair fell out. A complaint was lodged but NOTHING was done. Its my birthday so I was going to give ULTA a last try to buy something for myself. But guess what? It was another disaster!!! If this is how ULTA works, I dont think it will be in business very long. I reported this last attempt and a complaint was filed. I dont think anything will be done, I dont think anyone will even read this FEEDBACK! What I plan to do with my online order, is to bring it to the store to do a refund/update order to buy and use my full $125 in points. I hate to be cheated and looked down upon because I suffered a disability while on active duty to this Great Nation.

Lots of beauty items. When things are on sale they are usually priced well. Otherwise they seem high. Store is very organized, neat and clean. Large store too. 3⭐⭐⭐ cause i couldnt find anyone to help me on floor with a few questions on items. Also at checkout she didnt ask for my Ultra card and i forgot to handed over so when i mentioned it she just shrugged her shoulders. I had purchased many $$ items. Over all, theyll probably have whatever you need. A year +ago i got a French manicure and it was awful and took forever. So i dont know how experienced the girls are in salon.

I saw some of these reviews saying the customer service was bad because the customers did not socialize, quite the opposite for me lol. Maybe its because i get anxiety very easily but the employees were great. One girl helped me find my foundation shade and recommended products for me while asking my budget. Almost every employee said hello and if youre slightly more bubbly than me you would have enjoyed it. It was great nonetheless. :)

They mixed my order up and acted as if it were my fault. No apologies for the mix up, no thank you for returning the item and THEN threw my item on the curbside table and walked away without saying a word. I’ve shopped at Ulta for years. Returning this item will be my last transaction with this store.

Craig cut and styled my hair. He is professional, courteous and thorough. He is talented beyond measure, a true artist. If I lived in Montgomery, I would be a loyal client.

I am saddened to write this review. I love Ulta!!! Their employees ruin it!!!!! I needed new foundation and concealer as my complexion had changed. I have major acne scarring. I asked the sales lady for the foundation brand that I wanted. She directed me to the right area. The testers were clogged up. 🤢 I ask for some help. This lady tells me how horrible the brand is, gives me a wet tissue, and a box of tissues too. She then walks away as if it’s MY job to fix it!!!! I left and went to Sephora!!!!! Where I was treated as a customer should be!!!

Would rate it a zero if I could. I was asking if they did the free mini makeovers (I now know that is Sephora) because I needed help learning to apply eyeliner and which shape works best with my eye color and shape. Im not good with following YouTube how-to videos. One staff member told me If you dont know how to do it, dont wear it.

The customer service was terrible in this location. The staff work at the MAC counter ignore the customers as much as they can. When directly asked about product related questions, whichy by the way they are paid to do, seemed inconvenienced because their random conversation with each other was interrupted. The cashier Asheley was even worse, did not give 2✘points on my purchase, nor birthday gift, even though she said my birthday was shown in the system. Hire ppl that can do the job, its not that hard!

I have shopped at Ulta since the 90s when they opened the first Ulta3 in Smyrna, GA. I love the employees that work in this store so much. They are helpful, kind, and always greet with a cheerful face which I love. Which is why I am changing my review to 4 stars because those employees deserve the stars. They are the real MVPs of this store!!! However, the one thing I can say is that the store manager I am not a fan. She is not kind, does not go out of her way to be kind, never speaks to people kindly or even says hello (even at the register), and in fact ruins the shopping experience due to rude looks and glares. If it werent for this issue, which I do consider a HUGE issue, this store would be a 5 star all the way. No one wants to shop and feel uncomfortable because the store manager is rude. Plain and Simple!

I’ve been here twice and that was 2x too many. First time was to get my eyebrows done. I told the person at the brow bar I don’t like thin eyebrows... i left with pencil thin eyebrows. Not only that but this person had no regard for comfort of the client. This person pressed on my eyebrows so hard I thought my eyes would pop out and then ripped the wax off with great intensity. Never going back for brows.Then I made a hair appointment online. I made the earliest appointment I could because I had a busy day ahead. The appointment was for 9 so I arrived at 850. I was told the stylist wouldn’t be in until 915... okay, so why allow me to book 9? Whatever, I’ll wait. 950 rolls around, I’ve been waiting for an hour and still no stylist.This place obviously does not care about their customers.

Always have what I need and the girls are always near to give beauty tips and advise. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

The makeup is always nice, but you can also find other things such as hair,nail, or face cleansers/masks for a affordable price.

Don’t make an appointment then be 20 minutes late and be like oh my gosh I was eating lunch. No ... I’m on my lunch too and now I don’t have time to eat. So no tip and will never be back. My sister and I come in and shop pretty frequently. We like the products and the selection, but the customer service is lacking. Not every employee is bad, but there is one in particular that has the absolute worst attitude. Her name is Jessica—lead cashier. When we go to check out and see her up there, we almost want to put our stuff back and leave. She is not friendly at all and has a bad attitude like she would rather do anything else but help customers out. We even heard her complain to a coworker about a customer earlier that same day asking her to price check a few items before buying and she said she wanted to tell the customer to stop wasting her time and buy something. I know she saw us standing there while she was venting. I guess she thought we would agree, but no. That attitude is going to drive customers away.

The store was very disorganized and dirty. Products were all over the floor and store associates weren’t any help. The cashier was inexperienced and caused a long line. This location needs to get it together.

Spent 45 min looking for red glitter eyeshadow. No employees asked if they could help. Not familiar with make up or what I need. I guess I’ll go to who I should gone to, my Mary Kay lady. Or Walgreens. They have lot products you want if you know what you are looking for.

I love the store itself. The people who work here, not so much. I have noticed there are a couple younger girls at the register who seem to be nice, but almost every other employee seems like they hate their job, not happy to be there, or too buried in their own conversations with their co-workers. I have overheard some of the conversations ( hard not to, they are so loud ) and they are bashing other employees, or being catty in some way. There seems to be quite a few mean girls working here. Definitely not appropriate for the workplace. I really feel they need to hire new staff for this place. It’s beginning to feel like Sephora, were the customer service is just down right pitiful.

Went in to get my roots touched up and an inverted bob. Had a pic if myself with the color and cut I got out of town. Had the color numbers that were used. I went from a light reddish brown to a bleached blonde, the bob isnt inverted, cut too short. This place doesnt save you money. It was fine going for a trim. Now I have to find a shop that can darken my hair.

Brought a friend from out of town and it was almost impossible to pull her away from all the choices & options of cosmetics, skincare, haircare, etc. She found exactly what she was searching however an Ulta Representative was incredible in offering other comparable options at competitive prices which were the choices she decided were best options to choose & much more economical in price.

The staff is good and very customer oriented. Most of them seem to be well versed in the products that are sold there.

I gave it 3 stars because the store is usually stocked well. But the employees arent very knowledgeable and just seem to make me feel uncomfortable everytime I go in there. I never get to enjoy the instore experience of swatching and smelling things. So I just order online. Its experiences like the ones Ive had at Ulta instore that makes me know one day there wont be stores. So think of this when you work somewhere where theres customer service. That job may not be there one day. And theyll be replaced by big warehouses with machines running them and people will be unemployed.

In the past week Ive gone to the store in East chase at 3 times. The staff was pleasant, especially Sarah. And The items I wanted were in stock.

Mariah and Makenzie were so nice and helpful.

I was disappointed, everything I was getting was supposed to have free gift with purchase, I didnt get. They said, they didnt send us any gifts.

Im only giving three stars because I love the overall store. HIRE NEW EMPLOYESS ASAP!! Theres nothing wrong with talking with your coworkers but when a customer walks up that should cease & you should tend to your customer! I walked up & theyre still chatting away so I didnt even say excuse me I just asked my question. I needed a similar concealer like my MAC pro long wear. She goes on to say we have something similar but not as orangey as MAC concealers ...she proceeds to say to her friend but I dont use MAC products because they make you look blah blah blah he he he. I didnt ask you what you wear or what you dont like. Mac has so many shades you probably just dont know what to buy & based on your current makeup I can tell. That just irritated me & I left afterwards. The best employees are the cashiers.

I go here to get my hair done. Monica is excellent at color and cut. I got a blonde ombre and layers from her and both times turned out great! It is a little pricey but you get what you pay for 90% of the time. They have different cashiers everytime I go in. The first experience was okay with the cashiers, but this 2nd time I found them to be rude. The older lady in front of me was talking about how shes on a budget and box dyes her hair and was upset how it dont hold color well. She was buying another box dye to freshen up her color and I thought it looked pretty on her. The cashier told her she needs to go sit in the salon chair and get a REAL service. I found that rude how she publicly shamed that poor lady and called her out in front of people. Then when I got to my turn to check out, she tried shaming me too because I wouldnt sign up for a credit card . I dont need a credit card because I have too many and dont go to ulta a lot. Hair service is great, employees not so much. I will go back when needed but just dont take it to heart if they hurt your feelings in any way. Your all beautiful no matter what you do to your hair or face! :)

Every time I go the staff seems to be busy in their own conversations to really help anyone else. Plus the lady who works in make up section is kind of mean.

I was excited to check this store out. I was sadly disappointed. It was dirty. There was barely anything in stock. The employees were so buried in their own conversation that they could be bothered to help anyone. I doubt i will ever be going back.

The manager, I didnt catch her name, was very helpful and basically gave us a personal tour of the store to find what we were looking for.
