We purchased a spa from Hughes and have been completely satisfied with the unit and water quality services provided. Five stars for Lori! She knows spa water chemistry and more importantly treats all customers like family!
Josh R. came and conducted pool school for my husband and I. He was very kind and professional in answering all our questions.
They explained what we were not doing correctly and even wrote down the directions to correct our cloudy spa. Great customer service and beautiful spas!
Poor salesman experience, no discussion of options, pricing details, warrantees. No follow up by salesman or owner.
I started discussing plans with Roger back in Sept or Oct of 2020. I was initially greeted cordially and we discussed some plans. I had a septic system that threw a wrench in my plans and took a few weeks to figure out where that was. I also took a couple weeks of time to learn more about septic tanks and did more pool research. I am a particular person and like to know what Im going to get, what to expect, etc especially if Im going to spend $27k+. Im not an expert nor knowledge in pools. Well, once my research was complete I tried to contact Roger. I could not get a hold of this person at all. Ive called and texted in excessive of 20 times to the main office, to his cell, and even some emails. Well now its Nov or Dec he picks up and said he had been busy, answered a few questions about hot tubs and my setup. Fast forward another 4 months into March. He comes out again, raises the price by almost $3k.... and says he will put me on the list to build mid-May. Then it becomes mid-June. Once I tried to get him to honor the original quote I never heard from him again. I called a half dozen more times, I texted a bunch. Then all of a sudden he says theres no more concrete to do the jobs. I know this company builds pools for the home builders so maybe its their way of saying they dont need my business. Maybe it is true. Im sure I could find out if I really wanted to. I know where all the houses are being built in the area. What a waste of time. Why be in the business if you arent there to answer questions and help the customer build a nice setup. It IS a permanent fixture once its done. Id give this company 0 stars. Im not sure what Im going to do about building a pool anymore. Maybe one day Ill do it myself.
I simply love the service i received from this company..from Lori..and the rest of the the staff and the delivery guys...we purchased a spa..and they were there every step of the way..from start to finish...highly recommend...Thanks Guys!!!
A lil price gouging going on withe the 3inch tablets but its ok
Called to inquire about major renovation project for our pool area. We were informed that they not interested in pool renovations, only focusing on new pool construction.
They awesome. Send me a tee shirt!
AskService was great, very friendly and helpful
I have heard they do a good job but I never got a chance to use them because of terrible customer services. I needed a new liner for my pool and had an appointment with them for which my wife stayed home for. They never showed. When Randy finally came to give us a quote he told my wife he would contact me. He never did. I have called twice to see if I could get a quote and each time they tell me Randy hadn’t got around to it yet. So like I said they may do a good job I will never know because if they are not professional enough to keep appointments and at least give me a quote then I would be Leary of using them
Our pool was installed by the homes previous owners, and we thought it best to use the same company who installed it. Pretty much a month later someone just shows up, no prior phone call to say we are coming. Fact is after 48 hours of not hearing back from them we started calling other pool places. By the time a month passed we were already commited to another pool company. Hughes pools estimate was $3700 to $3800, $1000 more than the company we hired. I should thank them from not calling me back, being they saved me $1000.
Very prompt and courteous service
During my deployment to Iraq, my pool motor died. The weather was horrible and my pool was filling up fast. My wife could not sump the pool since the motor was dead. I called Hughes from Iraq and explained the situation followed by requesting emergency assistance. I was willing to pay the whatever since we just had a new liner installed. They said they would send someone “immediately”. They never showed at all. My wife called A-Best pools in Enterprise and they dispatched someone immediately who brought a sump pump to drain the pool and troubleshot the pool pump in the rain. I’ll never call Hughes again after my warranty runs out. Oh... replace the woman who commonly answers the phone. She is rude and lies. CALL A-BEST POOLS!!
Lots of good stuff.
We had a 14X28 liner installed with Hughes Pools and are very happy with the final product. The install crews are very knowledgeable and quick, basically 3 work days on site and they were done. Their prices are very competitive, highly recommend using Hughes to build your pool!!
They were very helpful.
Great Big Green Egg selection/inventory. Quick/knowledgeable service.
Update, turns out a wire was not correctly installed. No big deal until tech was sent out and advised the pump motor was fine and I needed to hire an electrician. I did so, he correctly reinstalled their wire and it worked fine. After relaying the details to Donna and even provided pictures of the problem, she told me she did not have time to talk to me about it, turned on her heal and left me standing at the counter. I was a 12 year dedicated customer, two previous liners installed with them and treated like this. I think there must be some mental health issues going on. On the positive, the retail side of the business is awesome. I will continue to use them but for any future maintenance or liners, I will go elsewhere.Great service replacing my pump motor. James was super knowledgeable and very helpful when installing and testing the whole system.
Friendly and helpful personnel
Our pool was installed by the homes previous owners, but we thought it best to use the same company who installed it. The people with whom weve spoken at Hughes seem completely unconcerned about us as a customer. We have called three times and still have not been successful in getting a confirmed date for service. During our most recent conversation, we were told that this is their busy season and they didnt know when they could get to us. Must be nice to be so selective about ones customers.
They do all the pools we do on our projects, wouldnt use anyone else....
The sales lady (Laura?) immediatelyinterrupted me when I began to explain what I was looking for in a hot tub. She continued to do sIo attempting to sell me something she had even though it didnt have what I needed nor wanted. I walked. Hughes pools and spas just lost a substantial sale. I wont be back.
Getting a quote to have a pool installed from Hughes pool is a joke, been waiting since May and its now October.. moving on to a company that respects customers and wants to work!
. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Everything had started out well. I called to get a quote and a man named Roger showed up spent a few minutes at my home and left letting me know I needed to get a variance for my home due to yard size. The variance took me a little over a month to attain but I got it. Sent them the variance paperwork as requested to a lady named Gina because Roger had been out of the office all week. Any questions I called about throughout the week could not be answered or “kind of” answered because Roger was not around. My family and I were getting really excited at this point because we knew the time was getting close to finally getting a pool so of course we had more and more questions. It was very frustrating dealing with them when Roger was out because they cannot function, in my opinion. When you have one man is the glue holding it all together you have a problem. I tried for over a week to reach out to the owners to answer some questions but never got a return call. Roger did call me last week when dealing with family things he had going on but he told me I would have a contract in my email Friday morning, I NEVER GOT IT! So today it had been a week since asking to speak the the owners, so I called back up there and asked for another call from the owners to discuss what had been going on and to get some answers. Roger then called me back and told me he was not comfortable moving forward because it’s starting off bad and to go ahead and trash the quote in which he had gave me. My response was “starting off bad so you want to trash a potential deal over me wanting to speak with the owner.” I will stop rambling. I think you get the hint. If Roger is not there you will not get things accomplished you need to. If there is any hiccup in the process they will trash a deal. The owners will not return your call in a reasonable time(unless they did not get the memo to call back a potential customer that had questions). To sum it up, that’s the customer service they are providing to potential customers so what are they going to do to you after you become a customer and they get your money?
GREAT SERVICE!Purchased Hot tub AND Big Green Egg. Lori was very helpful and patient. She took time to explain spa setup and maintenance in detail. Also couldnt believe how much better the BGE was. It is the way to go for a smoker! Wish i had bought one years ago. Cant go wrong with Hughes Pool and Spa.
I have been using Hughes for general pool maintenance this year. I had never had a pool before, and I did not know anything about how they worked.Everyone I have dealt with at Hughes Pools has been so wonderful! They are all very good teachers. They have explained all of the things I needed to do to get the pool ready for swimming (including a shock treatment). Everyone is so friendly. They love to answer questions in person and by phone.Their prices on everything I have bought have been very competitive. They test your pool water for free. They have built a wonderful customer relationship with me.If you want to see what great customer service feels like, go to Hughes Pools on Eastern Blvd.
They do really great jobs on the pools and service work. I recommend them to anyone who has a pool !!!
I just called to get an estimate on a pool liner replacement. And I was also planning on hiring them to do more work if I got a good vibe from them over the phone. I think they need to hire new people to answer their phones. When someone is calling to get an estimate, you have a potential customer and a potential to make some$$. Right? I dont think that they understand that. If Im looking to invest close to $3,000 in a company I expect superb customer service. Maybe the people doing the work are good, but with the terrible phone customer service I wouldnt take a chance. And next timeDonnawhen someone waits for a while to talk to you, you should be polite when you greet us on the phone, not just answer so abruptly. Rude, rude, rude. Ill spend my money elsewhere. Thank you very much!
Poor customer service, order online if you need parts. If youre capable of maintaining your own pool or hot tub, it seems like its an uphill battle dealing with local businesses. I tried to see if they had a very common part, a 2 inch pump union split nut (Hey, these things crack ya know) and all the lady on the other end of the phone line could say that they only stock parts for a certain make of spa. When I informed her that the part is highly common, she became rude. DID YOU KNOW, that most spa parts are UNIVERSAL?! They typically have Balboa controls, various makes of motors, but all with the same sort of pump hanging off of them.
My wife and I wanted a pool and could never get Hughes Pools to follow-up with us. We talked to two different employees (both of which were knowledgeable and pleasant to speak with), left all of our contact information, and still havent heard back from them 4 weeks later. If customer service was this poor before we had a pool we could only assume it would get worse after they had our money. No thanks.
Amazing customer service!! I am budget ballin.. these people helped me to make the best decision for my inground pool, AND my wallet! They repeatedly helped me to understand pool chemicals and necessities. Thank you Hughes staff!!! (Will suggest to friends/family every chance I get.)
Would give no star if possible. We called them because we were told they were the best around for pool repair and installation . We wanted to have someone come out to determine what repairs needed to be done to have our pool working properly for summer. Called, told them what was needed, the lady said Mr. So and so would call me back tomorrow to schedule an appointment . No one ever called. I called back three more times with the same experience. No one has called to set up an appointment . If they are this bad at setting up an appointment can you imagine how terrible it would be to work with them? Terrible!
I use to work here, great job and maybe I can get back on soon
I put a pool in many years ago. When the deck was put in, it did not drain because the fall was not correct. Rather than make them redo that part of the deck I let them talk me into a plastic channel drain being put into the deck instead. I was told if I had a problem with it they would take care of it. The plastic was not good material and has broken and leaked and allowed water to collect around my liner. I called and asked to have someone look at it and was told by their sales people they would not do anything. I called on three different occasions and asked to have Carol Hughes call me and he never returned my call. I have bought three or more liners from them since and they would not even return my call. I would recommend finding another pool source.
Great Service
Excellent service, courteous and very helpful faculty. I conduct all my pool business and needs at Hughes.
They take care of all our needs, good people that are pleasant to interface with.
You wont find better people anywhere that have more knowledge about pools then these folks.. I usually speak with Miss Donna .. She has never let me down on anything.. Ive been going to their Prattville location which is great to, but for large purchase items like Polaris vacuum, pool liners ect.. the Montgomery store is where you have to go.. Prattville is mostly parts and hot tubs..Wouldnt shop anywhere else.
I have not been to Hughes pools so leave me the heck alone
Love Hughs pool, they always treat me right, been with them for over 13 years never had a problem with them or thier services. Would recommend them to anyone. Thanks you....
I asked them to come to my house and give an estimate on how much it would be to fix my pool and they said they would send someone out and nobody ever came, guess Ill they really care about obtaining new business
Great place for all my Green Egg supplies, friendly people
Always great customer service.
Have called 3 times, left 2 messages over a 2 week period of time and still have not seen them or heard back from them??
Great service!
All t supplies and prompt service
Business partices are horrible...they sent someone to my house without calling that person apparently looked over my fence at my pool to make an estimate..i will not be using or recommend this company
Very good customer service
Terrible customer service. I called 6 weeks ago to have a quote to have a pool put in my backyard Never received a follow-up call for the quote. Within 48 hrs of calling two other companies, I had appointments and subsequent quotes. For what it is worth.
Very friendly and knowledgeable
Very helpful
