It is 6:22 on a Saturday morning. Google as well as their store sign advertise they are open at 6. An employee walked by and saw people standing outside but did not bother to rewatch our or offer explanation. As I’m writing this an employee came and activated the sliding door and informs me the door was open. There is a flat bed truck for rent that I parked next to. The front tires are scalloped to the point of being smooth. The rear tire has a huge gash in the sidewall. I didn’t look on the other side of the truck.
Found the Milwaukee palm sander I wanted at a good price. I then needed sandpaper, and the first employee I saw directed me right to it. By the way, the greeter was friendly and vivacious.
Very helpful, bring your dog, buy some lumber, have them cut it to size for you. Great experience!
I shop at Home Depot because all the employees are totally awesome they know where everything is in the store and that its worth volumes to me!
Purchased a $4000 lawn mower. We wanted to see it before purchase and we were escorted to the alley behind the garden area. It was in a metal crate and visibility was not possible. We were then escorted inside and we decided to move forward with the purchase. After paying for it at the service desk, we were told it would take 30 minutes to assemble. We then did some shopping in the garden area and checked on the progress of assembly a couple of times. An hour later, we went to the area and it was roped off. The female employee standing behind the rope immediately let my husband through to the lawnmower area. The person assembling it said he had one screw left but the employee would not let me through. The employee then told me “you”re going to have to move”. I had to stand on a pallet to get out of the way of a forklift coming through. I am sure it could have waited until we moved our $4000 dollar lawn mower to the parking lot to load. We were done shopping so I went to the car. My husband came and got me and said the mower was ready. We were walking to the assembly area to get the mower and the forklift passed by us. The forklift driver then started yelling at me. She was accompanied by the same woman who let my husband pass through the roped area but not me. We kept walking as she yelled at us from the forklift. I AGAIN decided to just go back to the car. As I was walking by the forklift I overheard the employee on the ground calling someone saying they had an issue in the garden area. The forklift female employee was yelling at me again asking if we had paid for the lawnmower. It was a huge zero turn very expensive purchase. My husband had to push it out of the assembly area by himself and as he was trying to load it up into the trailer another employee came out to the parking lot. Her main concern was not getting help for him loading it but if and how we paid for it. The lack of communication between Home Depot employees turned our $4000 lawn mower purchase into a nightmare. The yelling from the forklift completely was unprofessional. Letting my husband through to our mower being assembled and not me completely disrespectful. The experience was so awful we almost loaded the mower back up to return it the next day. We will never purchase anything from the Monticello Mn. Home Depot again.
For some reason, the simplest trips here always end up taking WAY too long and if you have a question you probably need to ask at least three people to get an answer. This has happened on multiple occasions. But they usually have what you need and the prices are competitive.
Just moved to area (BgLk) and have been in your store multiple times.I can truly say that every associate I have worked with had smiles and were very helpful/knowledgeable.PS Marge is a true angel. We actually spoke a little bit. Ended with a hug. 🤗

I called the store to see if I could return some flooring without a receipt and Sue said it would be no problem as long as I was ok with store credit. I was, so I drove 40 minutes to the store only for Sue to tell me that I cannot return it and that I should call a number that she gave me instead. After spending almost $10k on a home remodel with Home Depot in the past year, this is how they treat their customers trying to return just 4 packs of flooring?
Staff was friendly and well trained. Able to provide input to help solve a problem. Unfortunately no Samsung pay in the store. Made for a difficult transaction.
Forgot my wallet and was going to just type in the card number. Both cashiers told me I couldnt and the registers wouldnt let them. Which is a lie because if someones card isnt swiping they can override it to type it in. No apology just a downright refusal to help and finish the transaction. Had to go back home and get my card in order to finish. Wasted 3 hours of drive time when it could have been solved in store to begin with. SOOOO disappointing in the unwillingness to help.
I love Home Depots in general, but they refused to let me in at 7:50pm on a Sunday even though I just needed something quick.Customer service rolls their eyes if you dont have a receipt, even though I had my card.This is one of the weakest home depots in minnesota as far as stock goes. They just have basics. More and more Im shopping online since their inventory is off anyways.

It was great.when I wanted to shop and just look around I was left alone. But when I wanted help someone was right there.
After being a loyal customer of Home Depot for many years we will no longer be shopping there. We went to the Monticello Home Depot to buy a grill and spent an hour trying to purchase it and set up delivery. The employee had troubles with the registers and ended up charging us 3 times for the grill. One charge was removed but two remained. When we went back to customer service to get this resolved they would not issue a refund because there was no receipt for the charge even though we showed them the charge on our bank statement. We were told we would have to resolve this ourselves with our bank. Their error became our problem. Very disappointed.
I cant say enough good how well each department employee helped us and quickly and had all items we came for. Appreciated we could have a little humor with them too. Thanks Home Depot!!
I stopped in on Tuesday of this week looking for more base moulding to complete our project in preparation to sell our home. Kevin Burke and another gentleman helped me look up when another shipment was coming in. They said it looked like they were expecting some on Thursday and that I should try calling in the middle of the day to see if it was in stock and that they would pull it aside for me until I could get there after work to pay for it.I called in the middle of the day today and Kevin wasn’t in yet so another person tried to help me but unfortunately was not very helpful. He said that there was none on the shelf and apologized that the numbers were wrong. Later that afternoon, to my surprise Kevin took the time to call me back (without me asking him to!) and told me that they did indeed did have it in but it was in the wrong spot. He offered to pull it aside until I got there. Kevin and another gentleman helped me get it cut into smaller pieces, and helped me find some other items that I needed! It’s people like Kevin that will keep me coming back to your store! Give that man a raise and some recognition with the team! Thank you for your help today Kevin!
I had a great interaction with this store yesterday. I had a question about item availability, wanted to make sure it was in stock before I made the 35 mi trip. The web was saying limited inventory. I interacted with on duty management, department employees, and customer service. All of which were very friendly and helpful.
Great place for all types of lumber and tools. Went to pick up a miter saw, pickup took no time at all. Very helpful employees!

Its HD. They are the same everywhere. This particular one was never good at enforcing masks during covid. I generally prefer to shop at non-chain hardware stores when possible, especially since prices here are higher than at Menards. But occasionally youll need something that only home Depot has in stock.
Completely avoid the flooring department in this store. Go to a different Home Depot if you want to get flooring done. I go to the store, the person in the flooring department cant help me with basic questions. He tells me, as I am in the store call back tomorrow and some one else will be able to help you. So I call back, and guess who answers....the person in the next department over. Why you might ask? Oh because the same useless person in the flooring department is missing. In conclusion, 1. Guy in flooring department should not be in flooring department. 2 Guy in flooring department instructs me to call back to talk to some one else, when he is again the only one available and isnt even there to take the call. Oh, and side note. I tried to use a different HomeDepot for flooring because of their unhelpfulness but as it turns out they are unable to transfer the measurement details for which I paid 50$ for them to do to another store. If I want to use a different store I have to pay them again to come out and measure the same thing..........................why is that not shared between stores...... HomeDepot in Monticello FIX YOUR FLOORING TEAM. If Im going to buy thousands of dollar of flooring from you then your flooring team had better be available for me to do so.
Always clean. Item easy to find. Employee help is sometimes hard to find. Over always a positive experience.
Again I went to Home Depot expecting to find a particular Grill and they didnt have any of them not one griddle oh yeah thats online only and they had some off brand of grill that they were pushing real hard that I didnt even see in their website course they had a lots of the most expensive ones the but I was looking for a griddle and they didnt have not even one!
My hardware store, been looking for a spray paint, umber brown by Rust-Oleum. It seems that you cant find it in all Minneapolis.
Absolutely wonderful experience even with all 4 littles in tow. Asked by multiple associates of we need anything (which I always do with the littles with but hate to bother others). We are painting the entire house and remodeling. I will definitely be going back to this specific location! Also the my kids LOVE the truck carts, thank you!!!

BLUF: Unprofessional Behavior at Customer Service. This has been my Home Depot since it opened, rarely have I had any issues there up until two weeks ago. I purchased two sets of American Craftsman windows for my garage. 2nd window severely out of square when I go to install it, so I return it. Get the 3rd window home and find its missing parts. I go back again and they dont have the equivalent windows at or near the store with the proper parts (this customer service person with arm in a sling was great!). I bring back windows 1 and 4 because I cant have un-matching windows to be replaced with a similar size but not exactly the same measurements pair of windows. When we get through the line, the girl behind the counter ignores us and walks away to her manager. I move my stuff to the counter shes at, she still ignores us, so I move back to the original counter. When she comes back, I tell her why Im doing an exchange (see above), she says nothing. Then I ask if we can do an equal exchange for my trouble and she says she just talked to her manager who said she couldnt that for me, weird, since I had only just asked her that moment. I ask again, will you ask a manager to make an exception in my case? Very irritated, she says its against store policy. Ive already framed out the windows for the previous models which they couldnt provide to me but Im hoping they fit without too much trouble. Again nothing, so I pay and as Im leaving the store, she realizes she needs to cover her bad customer service and calls out, I hope they work out for you (After lying and treating me badly this was a see through attempt at damage control). I tell her I hope they do too. Jump to last weekend, I go to install the second version of windows, the window openings I framed are too big so lots of extra shimming and insulating which I didnt need to do on the first versions because I measured them to fit. Also, the second window I installed did not have the holes pre-drilled as it was supposed too so this created extra work for me as well. All in all, a very disappointing and time consuming experience. I did my first store survey and put comments on the Home Depot web page and how did the store handle it? Other than my neutral comments being approved, absolutely nothing. All the employees say that the store manager reads the surveys and, if thats true, then apparently I dont mean much to them as a customer. Im very disappointed with the bad customer service employee (I didnt name her because I feel the store manager should deal with her) and with the store. 1 Star rating is too much for this experience.

Do not purchase appliances from Home Depot. Purchased a washer and it stopped working after 3 days. They do not allow returns on appliances at all. Service came out after two weeks and told me it will be 30 days for a backorder part.
Understaffed. or maybe their staff doesnt care?3 times in 2 weeks, what should have been 10 minute (large) purchases, took 30+ mins. we only waited longer because we NEEDED IT THAT DAY. 2 of which we ended walking out because nobody came to assist after *finally* finding someone to help.the 3rd time, we only waited LONGER THAN 30 MINS because we *needed* the spare key made.
Was just there today to grab some items and then walked to the wiring/cable area to get some cable cut to run another fuse box in our home. There was no one in that department so I went to find someone who could cut me some cable. The guy said “well, I can’t do it, but I will grab someone for you.” Okay great! Waited for about 15 minutes and no one showed. Asked another person and they said the same thing. Waited around for another 30 minutes. 45 MINUTES total of NO ONE showing up to help me. I got so irritated I just left my items behind and walked out of the store. I was just here two days ago with the same issue. Since this has happened twice now I will NOT be going back.

The Monticello Home Depot if FANTASTIC! Then employees there are friendly and attentive. My husband and I were in the market for some new appliances. We were very impressed with Joel in Appliance. He helped us look for the max discounts we qualified for. (He saved us over $140 that was not available online!) In addition, he gave us great tips and thoroughly made sure we understood our rights as customers.I highly recommend this Home Depot and I recommend that you actually go inside the store to make purchases because there are going to be things that will be missed if you do everything online.

If you need something, go to the store. They are helpful if you go there. But often they dont have what you need...so you order online. Dont do it! Unless you have a lot of time to wait and get a run-around. Had to reschedule an appliance delivery 3 times because they kept scheduling on the ONE day that I expressly said I could NOT do. Another order took 11 days, even tho tracking said it was within 20 miles of my house for the last 5 of that time...but I couldnt get it. Doubt Ill be back

Very poor customer service! Tracked my online purchase to the day it was delivered to the Monticello store, said it was even signed for. Went in to pick up item. Customer service could not find the item, maybe looked for 5 minutes. Asked to speak to manager so we could possibly track down the item. Nick the manager showed up, didnt even try to look for my order. Simply handed me the vendors number for me to call! Was very rude! Walked out to my car and called Homedepot corporate and they where very helpful in tracking down my order for me. Ended up being delivered to Walmart. Not Homedepots fault at all. But the way customer service and the manager Nick handle this situation was very poorly handled. Will never visit this store again.
If only the people answering the phone knew what they properly had for inventory

When purchasing clearance items from this location my clearance items range up as 0.01 and the Home Depot employee rushed to the screen ready to over charge my with out any apology or reasonable explanation. I have no problem paying more but felt profiled by employees and felt if it was any other Home Depot customer they would honor the price clearance items ring up as. Decent place to find stuff you are looking for, The workers are nice (overly so at times) they have to be or risk getting fired at the drop of a hat. Having gone through their orientation wich felt like I was at a timeshare convention, almost got up and left after hearing what sounded like a pyramid scheme type step ladder, and how they tell you you get this huge retirement after only a decade or so, lol because there are so many home depot cashiers living high on the hog. plus, you can get fired for going to your car during your lunch period. btw I did not end up working there, left during the 6 HOUR long computer test, 2nd half of orientation.
We ordered laminate flooring and had them set up the installation. The installer came out to do the measurements and ordered the materials. He ordered a lot more then we needed and items we didn’t need at all and when we tried to return the items they said they were special order and would not refund us! The whole experience was a nightmare but that sealed the deal, will never go back.
Fare prices, tellers are great but some departments dont have much knowledge or send you on a goose chase. Create customer service
I shop here on a weekly basis between contracting jobs and personal home improvement. I walked in to the store with returns from 3 different projects, I dont bring receipts because I prefer in-store credit because I will spend it anyway and it saves me time. One of the returns had a security tag that Home Depot failed to remove when I boughtit!!! Customer service replaced a defective dewalt drill, returned around $400 in leftover material but they wouldnt let me return a Separate Dewalt battery from a different purchase or walk back out with it!!! Calling me a THIEF!!! Called the police on me because I wouldnt leave without MY product!!! Went home and found receipt within 3 minutes... Basically dont shop here after 4 P.M. Nobody has a clue about ANYTHING!!!

This location always has a clean store, nice products and very helpful employees. I would like to recognize Dylan and Aaron from the Building materials department. I needed some wood cut on two separate occasions this past weekend. Both team members were very enthusiastic and both helped me quickly. I appreciate honest, caring employees like these. Good store they have everything you need but there employees are not very knowledgeable. Today I went in to Homedepot I waited for 10 minutes no one came. I ask to talk to manager. He came but was he was rude. Because berefore I was able ask another question he walk away.
Helpful employees were at their best today with my two unusual requests. One was in training and is off to a good start.

The people working werent enforcing face masks and there customer service did not have adequate distance between lanes to maintain six feet. Overall,a not good experience.
