They have daily specials, my wife saw this on Facebook. This time they had tamales with refried beans and Spanish rice. They were very good, in both the mild and hot. I even picked up a bag of a dozen to freeze. We are going to keep a eye on the daily meal offering and try everything. They also have a verity of Mexican groceries available.

I have 0 clue how this place has such high ratings. The only thing I could come up with was that they have a bunch of family and friends giving out high reviews. The food was super bland hardly any flavor at all. Got the tacos and beans and rice and wow its really insane how little flavor anything had. Also got some flavored water drink that somehow costs $5? Are you kidding me for some flavored water LOL. If you have any taste buds at all just go somewhere else like Acapolco or Mangos.

I love La Unica! Stop there regularly for tamales and excellent fresh salsas and tortillas. Tiny, but well-stocked store with great lunch specials and breakfast/lunch on weekends. I am so glad that we have a real, friendly and worker-owned Mexican restaurant/market in our community and highly recommend it to everyone who loves great food.

I walked in to the new shop on university in Fargo to check it out and order some food. I stood there for 5 minutes and the ladies saw me standing there. They never said hi or just a moment and they walked away. So I just left and came home to write this review on how rude they were.

This is the real deal taco shop and Mexican Mercado in the FM area!!Ive been to Mexico many times and this is what tacos and burritos should taste like.OK feel daring? try the barbacoa taco, the tongue taco and.....on the weekends homemade Menudo better than anyplace Ive ever tasted. AMAZING. Get there early because they sell out FAST.testament to the quality and prices.Its worth the trip just to see a real Mexican MercadoHats off to you all.Mucho GustoJamie

Great little market with all the essentials for Mexican food.

This place is a joke went there because of positive reviews, but its awful. First they sold me 12 very small tamales for $13.50 . When I got home the sell buy date was 12/20/20 I bought them on 1/8/21. I purchase two pieces of Mexican sweet breads they were old, hard and stale. I also bought some menudo which I found when I got home had a chunk of ice on it. Also got a package of cheese and enchilada sauce. The total was $47. The lady and young man she was teaching about ringing up purchases went back and forth for five minutes. I think they were confused on costs. When I went there wasnt any freshly cooked food. There is a new restaurant where the old Perkins on highway 10 was. The food is good. In the last 10 days have eaten there 3 times.Hoping this wont be the only Mexican Market for long. LA Unica falls very short.

The daily takeout specials are awesome and the grocery side of the business is great too. I recommend taking home some handmade frozen tamales or barbacoa and pair with the famous “green sauce”.

My review is in regards to their frozen tamales only.I saw the reviews mentioning great tamales and so I came to buy 2 dozen. 2 different kinds, bean and cheese/ pork.Unfortunately these are awful. Small size, crumbly and poor taste. I cant even reheat them because they are falling apart. I spent almost $30 on them and I will have to throw them in some sort of casserole because they are unusable as tamales.There IS a chance I got a bad batch, but probably wont go back to try again unfortunately at that price point.

Go on Fridays to get fresh sweets. This place is awesome, they have almost everything you can think of. If they dont they will try to order it for you. The owners are great people!

This quiet little place offers amazing home-cooked authentic Mexican food. They also offer an assortment of hard to find Mexican spices, Seasonings and even Mexican sweet bread. They have a lot to offer in such a little store. What makes it even better it is family owned and they always treat their customers as if they were part of the family.

This is a hidden gem. Youll enjoy a grocery store with takeout food. The tamales are excellent. I like the spicy ones best. My friend was impressed with the tacos and homemade tortillas. Search Maps for La Unica. Enjoy the store. Its very good food and atmosphere.

The best Tacos in town on Fridays. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices. If you havent been here check it out. Its a bit out of the way, but definitely worth it. They told us they also have additional specials on their Facebook page.

Staff is always friendly and the food is great. Weekend breakfast burritos and the menudo are pretry good.

Highly recommend the spicy pork tamales - they are really, really good, and not too spicy but very flavorful. All of their tamales are good, small, and never dried out. We also ordered beans and rice, which was quite salty, but very edible. Nice people.

Great place for anything! They have great tamales and their breakfast is wonderful! Grab a sheet fill out your breakfast order (Sat and Sun only) hand it off and wait for some great food!

Only place worth getting authentic Mexican food. Everyone there is very pleasant and helpful. I will never be able to eat enchiladas anywhere ever again. I literally ate an entire bag of their cookies while writing this. Do yourself a favor and stop by and try it for yourself, they will not disappoint.

I drove two hours to get to this place, finding a Mexican Store is hard this far north. It was a waste of gas. Small store with very little selection and over priced items. The workers there were, though not rude, they were not exactly friendly. Dont plan on going there again, the Mexican Store in Long Prairie is better with more selection and better prices.

Ive bought sweet bread pan dulce for years. Not easy to find up N but still over priced. I will say the quality and flavor was amazing, but Ill never return thanks to the prices. Friendly and clean place.

Had heard good things about La Unica, but my first experience there wasnt as such.I called in, and put an order in to be picked up at 3pm. When my girlfriend stopped to pick up my order it hadnt been set aside for me.I originally commented on their FB post with a couple questoins. My last comment was a complaint in relation to what happened.No one reached out to apologize.

To call this place a market is a stretch. I’ve seen bigger storefronts from people running stores out of theirs homes in Mexico. Got totally fooled by the website on the size and type of store this is. Was hoping on finding a real Mexican grocery store but all I found was a closet. People where very nice at lest and help me find some spices I knew I can’t find at Walmart. Didn’t have any of the food there that they supposedly had even though that was one of the things I was looking for. I saw some industrial cooking machines through a door when I was looking for help but didn’t bother asking about. Was already a big let down as soon as I walked in the door I didn’t want to make it worse.

Since La Unica means The Only One it literally has Mexican Staples no one else close by has. They make a killing on the weekends with their Fresh Homemade Menudo, Breakfast Tacos, Especially their Barbacoba.

This joint is in a warehouse and its the best Mexican food in Fargo/Morehead. Forget Mangos tex mex garbage. Grab some authentic Mexican food to go and enjoy. Super friendly. Small menu but its all great. I had the Chimichangas and they were fire.

They have expired items. The bags of tamarindos were $1.99 and they charged me $3.25. The employee called the manager and someone made a “mistake.” Other stores take ownership but NOT La Única. Not returning to this store for sure!!!
