I had a great experience here. I bought my glasses at a different location and these ladies replaced my frames no problem. My dog had put teeth marks all down one arm.

I had a great experience here. The lady took a lot of time to help me pick out the perfect pair of glasses and made sure they fit my face comfortably. She was soooooo much better than Americas Best who was dishonest about the way a pair of glasses looked on me.

Called for an emergency with something in my eye. I was seen as soon as I walked in the door! Dr. Papazekos was excellent and was very informative. A+++

They get no stars from me really. Do not waste your time or money. I went here and and the doctor gave me the wrong prescription twice. I asked for specific contacts and was written a prescription for a totally different brand. Also while I was there the eye center girl broke my glasses that I currently had. Ill never ever go back. Now I have to pay more money to have another exam on my eyes to get what I asked for. I have been wearing glassed for 20 plus years and the doctor tried to tell me my eye sight got better and gave me a script i could not see out of. when I went back to tell him I just wanted the same ones I had he barely tweeked the script.

I dont think its right that a doctor can change a persons bill, over 6 months after the fact, just to try to get more money from an insurance company, and then when payment by the insurance company is refused, bill the patient for the new amount. I saw Dr. Jody D. Papazekos at his office at the Walmart in Morganton, NC (Dr. Papazekos uses the address at P. O. Box 231 in Taylorsville, NC 28681 for mailing purposes) on 26 July 2017 to get a referral for previously diagnosed cataracts to a cataract surgeon. The first diagnosis was made by Dr. Fleming, who was previously at the same office, which I had made the appointment with, who was not there because he has died (according to Dr. Papazekos). Dr. Papazekos had taken over the business and he told me that because I was a new patient to him he would need to do an examination. No problem. He told me that my condition was still correctable using eyeglasses and he wrote me a prescription for them. At that time, I made a second appointment for 28 January 2018 for the cataract referral. After the exam, because I had no insurance, I paid $87.00 in cash (because their credit card reader didnt work) for the exam and because there was no balance due on the bill and no insurance to file for the services, I considered the bill paid in full. I got insurance on 1 January 2018. At the second visit on 28 January 2018, after they had referred me to a cataract surgeon, I was told that they would try to bill my insurance for the services of that visit so I gave them my insurance information. They filed the Insurance for the 28 January 2018 visit and then back-billed my insurance for a new amount of $215.00 that they said was due for the 26 July 2017 visit. Now that I had insurance, they went back in my records and changed the amount owed for the 26 July 2017 visit from an regular eye exam to a more expensive medical visit and then they billed my insurance for the new amount. Dr. Papazekos record clearly show (in black ink) that I paid in full the $87.00 due at the time of the 26 July 2017 visit (with no balance due shown) and then they changed the bill (using blue ink) to add an additional $215.00, at a later date, because I now had insurance. My insurance of course would not pay the new amount of the first visit because I did not have insurance with them at that time. It should also be noted that the 28 January 2018 visit was for the exact same condition as the 26 July 2017 visit, but for an unknown reason, it was not medical the second time. It should also be noted that they waited over six months to file the new insurance claim for the 26 July 2017 visit (because they didnt have my insurance information back then). I believe that once you are quoted a price for a service and pay for it, that they shouldnt be able to change the amount due over six months later and bill you for more. In my opinion, this a case of fraud to try to get more money from an insurance company and Dr. Papazekos should be held accountable.

I only gave this optometrist office one star because there was no option to give 0 stars. The receptionist checking people in was beyond RUDE and needs to be educated on customer service skills. Her name is Yvonne Working in the medical field for 11 years I was BEYOND APPALLED that this place is a legit business. There were multiple HIPPA violations that I witnessed while my husband was being seen. Myself as well as everyone in the waiting room heard my husbands ENTIRE eye exam. The optometrist was kind but needs to be mindful of peoples private business during exams and appointments. While waiting on my husband to finish up his exam I witnessed the receptionist being extremely rude to customers over the phone with the glass window open so i wasI was also able to overhear their personal intosuch as name, date of birth and insurance information. If I was a customer over the phone and knew that the entire waiting room knew my personal information I would be beyond FURIOUS!!! I cannot get over how she was handling patients and speaking to them especially the very elderly and disabled ones. But then again it may be because she was in such a rush to get outside and sit on the sidewalk to smoke a cigarette which my family witnessed while leaving the Walmart. My husband is disabled from multiple strokes and enjoys seeing this doctor but he really should be mindful of HIPPA violations and he definitely needs a new receptionist.

I usually go to Lens Crafters in Hickory NC or to a place in Hudson thats closer to me but for personal reasons in January I made an appointment with Dr. Fleming (Larry M. Fleming with Wal-Mart Vision Center in Morganton NC) for the very 1st time ever. After my appointment I can honestly say that from now on (since my prescription is good for a year itll be 2017 before I need another appointment unless something happens) the only place that Ill be going to get my exam for contacts (or glasses) is here to see Dr. Fleming and no one else.He was very friendly and just so sweet. He made the appointment less stressful and anxiety free for me because of how sweet & friendly he was.He is the best optometrist that Ive ever been too in my life.Plus the price for the exam was great, the price is what made me decide to give this place a try when I first called about an appointment. The price got me in the door but Dr. Fleming is the reason Ill be back. But I wont be buying my contacts from the Wal-Mart Vision Center because the women that was there the day I had my exam next door to the Vision Center were both very rude, unfriendly & acted like they were both to good to help me/wait on me, and it was like pulling teeth trying to get them to answer my questions about my contacts ( like the price, how many came in a box, etc..) so finally I have up & left with no contacts. But I will be back to see Dr. Fleming, Ill just go to another place to buy my contacts.

Horrible experience. I arrived the 10 minutes early as asked to do insurance and check in. The waiting room is tiny cramped and hot. They were backed up and people waiting longer then should. First issue a gentlemen waiting speaking very loudly about politics and religion. Not appropriate and receptionist did nothing but shrug. She then went out for a cigarette. She returned never washed her hands. Then doctor took person whos appt was after mine. Again not right. Then receptionist took us in for air test and all I could smell was the smoke on her and her hands. Then returned to waiting room. Ugh. During the exams before me all doors were left open and everything could easily be heard in waiting area. The last straw......patient and doctor talking about infections penicillin and other issues. This is major hippa violation. At this point I got up and asked receptionist for my paperwork as I wouldnt be staying. I asked about the hippa and open doors she stated yeah thats been an issue before. I would seriously advise going somewhere else. Very unprofessional and poor hygenie practices.
