Ok so I know there are protocols with COVID. But not changing a battery in a watch while others are shopping and handling other pieces of jewelry. I just needed a battery changed in my watch which we had purchased a lifetime warranty on. Still confused.
We took my MIL in to get a ring guard to keep her wedding set from sliding towards her palm. When the associate watched MIL take her rings off, she advised us NOT to purchase one, as she would have difficulty getting the rings over the knuckle. Then, knowing she would not make a sale, the associate offered to clean the rings! I wish I had gotten the sweet ladys name.

A while back, I purchased a lifetime warranty with a watch I purchased at Kay Jewelers in Morganton. A few months back, I took the watch in for a battery replacement; however, I was told they could not perform a battery replacement due to COVID. Keep in mind, the store was open for shopping. Today, I returned and was told the same thing. No repairs, battery replacements due to COVID. However, the employee confirmed that customers can come in and shop, browse, etc. but one cannot drop off an item and return to pick up later. Really? Who come up with this protocol? Im very supportive of keeping everyone safe during COVID but this makes NO sense.
What does COVID have to do with changing a watch battery? On a watch purchased at Kays.Long time Kays customer. Not anymore!

Kay gave me a quote to enlarge my wedding ring. Received a call week later saying it would be 5X that cost. I told them to not do anything and when I picked it up they had butchered the bottom of the ring leaving sharp edges and scratch marks . Warning never take your rings there for repair, or enlarging. Also never trust their quotes!

I recently took in my engagement ring, wedding ring, and 2 anniversary bands to be resized to Kay Jewelers. When my rings were returned in a timely matter I was so pleased and thrilled. The 27 year old rings looked brand new and was a perfect fit. If you need any work done on your jewelry this is the place to do it. Thanks for doing such a great job and for awesome customer service. It was above and beyond.
Walked in and greeted by Maggie the manager who said we will be with you shortly. After 15 minutes of waiting another sales associate who had just finished lunch finally waited on me. Meanwhile manager Maggie was still having a personal conversation with same lady. If you expect good fast service whether purchasing or just making a payment, make sure shes not working
Thank you so much for all the help you guys gave! I know it was a process trying to get the two rings for my Fiancé And I, but it was worth it. The rings are beautiful and she and I love them. Jacob is an outstanding worker and helped me with the long few processes we had to go through!
When I brought my engagement ring in for a routine cleaning, it was found to have 2 broken prongs and 1 that needed to be completely rebuilt. I was very fortunate that the diamond hadnt fallen out. I left my ring to be repaired. It looks so beautiful! Kays Jeweler did a fantastic job. The price of the repair was very reasonable.

UPDATE:I have been in Kay Jewelers at least four times in recent weeks, twice to drop off jewelry for repairs (two watches, one ring, and one necklace clasp) and twice to pick up repaired jewelry. I cannot emphasize enough how very, very polite, knowledgeable and professional the staff has been and I have been helped by several different store salespersons, I believe Matthew helped me once, and Jacob and Donna. Also, I cannot emphasize enough the quality of service I have received and the repairs were TOP NOTCH!! When picking up my completed repairs, I have always been very pleased with the results and I have NOT experienced one disappointment, not even one small issue!! Yes, the repairs are sometimes costly, but when it is jewelry that has sentimental attachments, you wont find anyone better to assist you, and the staff are always quick to give me any current promotional discounts that are available. These folks know and display the true meaning of quality customer service. I highly recommend Kay Jewelers to family, friends, and everyone.SEVERAL MONTHS AGO:I took two damaged watches in for repair. These watches meant a great deal to our family because they belonged to a very special family member who passed away several months ago. From the moment I set foot in this store, I was treated with the utmost kindness, a helpful attitude and professionalism! The person helping me was Matthew, but I also had contact on the phone with other staff. I picked up the watches last night just before the store closed and the watches (keepsakes for my grandson) were absolutely beautifully restored. I could not be more grateful! I was very happy with my visit to the Morganton NC store. I was not real happy with the fact some of my jewelry during their inspections shown problems and had to leave for repair. However, I trust Kay to do a good job. Many, the store manager, was very helpful and most courteous and I was pleased with how she handled my visit and the subsequent matters from that visit.
Helpful, professional, knowledgeable: Jacob and the staff at this Kay Jewelers location went above and beyond to help us with several transactions today. He was friendly, took time and effort to work with the information we had and which he could pull up on our behalf, and added to our continued positive experience with Kay Jewelers. Best jewelry store ever! I love dealing with all the associations especially the managers. amazing service, and love how they deal with upset customers making sure they walk away happy and returning. 10/10 will continue to buy from kay jewelers, and would deff take anyone who only gives 1 star reviews with a grain of salt, come to the store and see for yourself this place is amazing and has the upmost respect for any and everyone:)
Very friendly staff and was very helpful to me and answer any questions I had for them. When I got both of the rings back I was very amazed how the rings turned out especially my wifes wedding ring. It actually looked better than when I bought it.
Here in Morganton, NC we have the best Kay Jewerlers. I dont shop anywhere else neither does my sons wife or her sister. Quality above all and the lifetime insurance is wonderful. I want to give a shout out to Beverly and Matthew their always there to give you the best service. Satisfied customer.
I have been completely happy with the products and service I have received there. Purchased $5,500 and put on my Kays card paid it off early and was told I could leave my credit card open. Go in 6 months later to get something else and when i handed over my Kays card I was informed that my card was closed when I told them to leave it open. It hurts your credit to close a credit card. Always best to leave it open and I had intentions on buying more but how can I do that if they closed it against my wishes and not notify me? Not a happy customer
Worst jeweler I have ever been too, I purchased merchandise for my daughter and wife at the Asheville location and received great service. I went to the morganton location to exchange the merchandise for a different style I seen online and was accused of stealing the merchandise and the assistant manager needed to see my ID. Went to the car for my ID walked to the desk while the assistant manager was inspecting the merchandise and I asked him why I needed my ID if I had the receipt, merchandise tags, and card that I used to pay for the merchandise. That obviously made him mad because he came from behind the counter walked me to the register and upon walking to the register had the nerve to get in my face with an angry stare I guess because everything was valid and he wanted to stereotype me. I requested my merchandise back from him took it to the hickory location the next day, and never was asked to show my ID they just needed my card and a receipt and the manager there advised me that their policy isnt to present ID for exchanges nor returns. The guy just wanted to stereotype me and make me go thru additional steps for the return for reasons unknown. I am a business owner and would not have any of my employees representing my business this way, and I understand why their location was empty when I walked in. I would not recommend going to this company and would visit zales, Jared, or Cartier for better quality and customer service.

I love Kay Jewelers and Mandy the manager is the best, she goes out of her way to help you in any way she can. They have the best quality jewelry and I love the Neil Lane brand. The only place that I will go for my jewelry.

I never make posts on anything (facebook included) but I have to say that I would reccomend anyone to come to this Kay Jewlers for any occassion. The staff were incredibly friendly and were always willing to help out with anything I needed. I went searching foe an engagment ring for my girlfriend and Maggie was the first to greet me with a smile, listen to what I wanted and even went above and beyond to make sure I was getting any deals that would possibly apply. She was always courtious, never pushy and always willing to drum up a conversation whether it was with me or my family. In short, if youre looking for great customer service, a wide selection of beautiful jewlery (even more than the Hickory location) and an all around great experience, you need to come to Kay Jewlers of Morganton. Also, to the general/regional manager, please give Maggie a raise, she certainly deserves it!

Worst engagement experience because of this company and management. My fiancé purchased the ring 6 1/2 months ago and we have yet to receive it back. I have not been able to show off my ring, it feels like its not even real. The ring was absolutely gorgeous and every time it had to be sent off for repairs it came back with a different stone that was not near as beautiful as the one that was purchased. After being pushed off to the customer care dept because management in the store would not take matters into their own hands I learned that Kay Jewelers has been under investigation already for replacing real diamonds with fake ones at the repair shop. With all the beautiful rings you see in the store and the fabulous commercials they advertise you would think your proposal, engagement and ring would be nothing but exceptional. That however is not the case. We still have no resolution after being referred to several different supervisors and I hope no other newly engaged couple has to be put through the torment Kay Jewelers has put us through. It has been nothing but disappointments and a huge hassle with no consideration or sympathy from the company whatsoever. Please save yourself the trouble and buy your perfect diamond elsewhere!
I had a great experience. Gave the salesman an idea what we were looking for and he showed me many different items and even gave us some ideas of what looked good together etc. Was all in all a good experience.
