The Shell Shop is as about as classic as Morro Bay gets. There is a wide variety of shells from all across the globe neatly assorted for your buying enjoyment. Shells arent the only thing these interesting purveyors of calicum offer to the public. You can also view and buy an assortment of shark jaws, preserved crustaceans, and custom made chandeliers comprised entirely of shells. Check this place out and give it your business if youre in the area.
Ive never been more impressed with a shell shop in my life. The selection of shells, coral, etc. is astounding, and the prices are unbeatable. $100 spent here would easily be $300 at another shell shop.

Love this place. My dad used to give us a dollar to buy shells. It probably went further in the 80s, but they still have beautiful shells for cheap. Im happy to do the same ($3 to account for inflation) for my son.

They have everything shell related obviously, but in decorative items such as figurines, jewelry box, flowers made of shells and you can buy it individually (pretty pricey). But its nice to check out especially for souvenirs or if you want corals or decorative shells/starfish for your fish tank etc.
What a gem! If you collect sea shells then the trip to Morro Bay would pay off. Prices are incredibly reasonable and they have valueable rare shells of you are looking for a treasure. Ive been in many shell stores and this bay far is the best. Great staff also.
This is a fun place on the Embarcadero in Morro Bay that sells what the name suggests, SHELLS. There are all different kinds of mollusk shells from around the world at all different price points that you can purchase to commemorate your trip to the beach. There are also some pretty neat items manufactured using shell. Personal favorites of mine where the rainbow wind chimes made with some sort of translucent shell disc thing, and the Morro Bay night light made with some sort of etched univalve shell. The vibe is calming and the staff is friendly so go check it out!

My friend wanted me to shell wind chimes, he says it makes him feel as if hes in Morro Bay he hasnt been to Morro Bay probably in 4 years, so Im honored to get him a couple of them they range from different varieties I got the $17 ones instead of the smaller version which is $13 and then it goes down $8 for a very small one hahaha.Very friendly staff on board seems to be an older couple that runs the place very info and even though they dont offer online service you are able to get things packed very well to ship.Visit the Shell Shop its amazing so many millions of shells to pick from😊💕💕

Amazing selection of shells. Great to browse.... why the 2 star review? I bought a bunch of shells and when I got home to look at them, I discovered that the two most expensive shells I bought were missing! That’s right. All the shells where neatly wrapped up in tissue paper and the cashier wrapped them up away from my view.Either by careless error or on purpose, they were not in the bag. It was pretty obvious I was a tourist. I’m so beyond disappointed. Make sure to check your purchase to be sure everything is there!
Owner was very rude, looking for something special, i know that it was closings time but he was very rude and asked myself and my Grand-daughter to leave.
I absolutely love the shell shop. I have accumulated a huge bouquet of shell Roses, & flowers over the years. I also have some other unique items, frogs playing instruments, frogs driving shell automobiles, sea horse pulled carriages, shell turtles, shell lady with umbrella. A shell couple, each walking a dog, an owl made from shells, a small collection of shells, including star fish, & sand dollar, & a wind-chime made from shells. I do wish they had on-line sales, but being so unique & fragile, I can understand why they dont. I always enjoy my visits to the Shell Shop, & am astounded by the ANCHOR JUST OUTSIDE!👍🏼♥️⚓! 😊

I couldnt believe this place was still around when I went in December of 2018. Im 23 and the last time I went was when I was a little kid! Probably early 2000s. My mom loved this store when she and my dad lived in the area years ago. Anyways, this store has the best selection with the best prices for anything sea related, specifically shells hence the name. Their items are of good quality. We once bought a decoration you put out on your front porch that was completely made out of shells. We bought it years and years ago but it still is in great condition. I cannot think of the name for it. We also bought a shell night light - best night light ever!! Bought it around the same time as the porch decoration. The night light made it until about 2012 when it accidentally broke. It still worked but the shell was broken.

This is one of my favorite shops in Morro Bay for jewelry made of shells. They have an excellent selection in a wide price range. You can buy simple shell necklaces for kids for less than $5 and beautiful sterling silver and shell necklaces, earrings and rings for less than $50. In addition they have a vast selection of individual polished shells and trinkets made from shells. The staff is always helpful and friendly. I make it a point to stop in and get some jewelry whenever I am in town.
My wife loves this place and every time we are in town she makes a beeline for it. They have a very wide selection of seashells and their prices are also good. You can spend a long time looking at all the things that they have. They have a very knowledgeable staff which are always helpful. I have gone through this shop more than a few times. My wife spends at least an hour in there and thank God they have the benches in front off the store where I normally park myself and watch the people go by

Been coming here since I was a kid, now bringing my own kids. Touring the selection of beautiful shells is like taking a trip around the world. The variety of colors and shapes and textures delights kids and grown-ups alike.
We were very impressed with the many thousands of varieties of shells and shapes and sizes. Also, the many gifts or keepsakes made with shells. We were also shocked to see the prices were much lower then you would expect. We bought a lot of different things as gifts and for us. Definitely worth visiting.
This is a cute little place with the best collection of seashells, and all for a great price. I bought one of their seashell boxes a few years ago and its held up just as lovely as when I bought it. I buy a little selection of shells every time I come by, I cant visit Morro Bay without stopping here!
