Amazing service! The best music shop Ive ever been to. I live 3 hours away and its still worth the drive. Bought a 12 string from them and unfortunately after I took it home I found some manufacturer defects, they offered to take it back and organized with the manufacturer to get me a brand new one free of charge! Amazing! Would give them more stars if I could!

Sometimes I think the holy grail must be safely stashed away somewhere in the loft of this store. Seriously, Ive been going there for years and its one of my favorite second hand music stores. You never know what youre going to find in there and thats half the fun! I scored on a beautiful 8-string bass many years back that was reasonably priced, in mint condition and its become one of my favorite instruments. Was there earlier today and I found the missing link foot pedal for my 28 year old Carvin PB 500 bass amp -- was like re-uniting with an old friend. CCM has everything, basses, guitars, sometimes drums, old outboards, amps, speakers, sometimes keys, soundboards, recording gear, strings, cables, stomp boxes, etc.etc.

Here is the story: I was to come from Germany for a weekend visit to Morro Bay for the memorial of my host dad (I was an exchange student 30 years ago). My plan was to perform a song for him on the memorial. To transport a guitar as extra luggage and buying a hard case would have been very expansive. So I googled and finally emailed Ed and told him about my plan and asked if he would rent out a guitar for a day. He answered of course he would give me one. So a week later I arrived at his shop. Not knowing me at all he let me just pick one of his guitars plus a case and music stand. He didn’t ask for any charges not even security. That really touched me – service and trust. And more important maybe for buyers: I tried a few guitars and picked an guitar for 400 US$ with an excellent sound that was superb to play (and good looks) – loved it and would have bought it straight away (can not buy a guitar in that quality for that price in Germany). Central Coast Music is the best music store in the county. There is absolutely no pressure to buy anything. You can play guitars day on end until you find what you want. Ive bought two guitars there and am greatly satisfied with both of them. Ed backs up everything he sells. Butch does a superb with repairs and restoration. If something is easy, hell tell you how to do it yourself. Theres a lot I dont know, but I dont get talked down to. Recently I bought a couple sets of strings and a slide there and I havent been able to stop playing in open G. Eds approach comes more from the aesthetic and personal side. Hes out to teach and keep his customers satisfied. Hell match prices, too.

I get it, its tourist season. I genuinely wanted to locally shop a 1/2 size guitar. I saw how busy the store was. I left my name and number. Someone said I was all set to receive a call. 2 weeks, no call.

Im a young Australian travelling down the west coast. I bought an acoustic guitar up in Oregon so I could teach myself to play and a couple weeks later thought I had snapped my A string while in Morro Bay. Took it into CCM just cause we were in the area that day and was warmly greeted by Eddie who kindly let me know it wasnt a snap and I needed a new gear. He had fixed it up for me within the hour, replacing the gear and the rod for a low cost, plus he let me know my E string might need replacing soon - so he threw in a new one at no charge! He was so personable and took an interest in our trip, we had a great little chat. I never leave reviews for places but I felt compelled to for this awesome shop with excellent service. Extremely satisfied.

CCM is a Central Coast treasure. Ed has provided us local musicians and lovers an eclectic array of musical instruments and accoutrements for a long time making Morro Bay a better place for it.

I had read all of the great, heartfelt comments a while ago, unfortunately my financial situation at the time didnt allow me to satisfy my GAS (gear/guitar acquisition syndrome). Happy to say, today I got my first fix in a while by going into Eds store and buying a Boss Katana 50! I actually restrained myself from venturing around the store, but eventually my weakness surfaces and Ill be there every week bangin up the debit card!

Ive been going to Ed at Central Coast music for 27 years. Ive been to all of the other music stores around here and other than one certain one in Arroyo Grande Eds is just like being at home. Meaning come in plug it in do what you want if you want to check it out and take it home take it out check it out. Ive asked him how much do you think youve been ripped off because he just sends guitars out with the people that want to listen and try it out it at home and he wasnt sure... but he is such an awesome person that you just cant do that to him. And the prices are great and the selection is very eclectic. If you dont want to be treated like a sterile piece of meat and ask mother-may-i to do anything then go there because theres no rules other than dont steal... It would probably hurt his feelings more than get you in trouble.

The best music store ever!!! The pre-owned, adspeak for used gear, selection is eclectically great. Ive seen a Mesa MkIV and V and a Mitchell Sandamp! in there. The last two guitars I bought were used, but both in great condition. The 1973 Strat was a steal, pristine condition. And Ed. Ive known Ed for years, the greatest nicest guy youll ever want to meet. Anyone whos been in there can only tell you good things. Ive got a lot of Ed stories, one in particular, he got a call at home, a visiting bands bassist broke a string, no b-up. Ed delivered it after midnight and didnt even charge the guy. Very true story, and lots like it. I wish they had 5 more stars!
