The Donut Tree is a wonderful place. I admit that when I first tried it, I was a tad overwhelmed as to what I was desirous to try. The selection of donuts went quickly and I was left with only a few choices, (at least at that time.)However, The Donut Tree has REALLY stepped up their game.The variety of donuts are Amazing!Delectable.Memorable.Yummmmmy.When I first bitten into my donut, a flood of childhood memories came flooding in. Not many types of food can do that.they were memories long forgotten, all sparked by a single bite of a donut...I am not saying that these donuts will do that for everyone, but they are worth checking out.And as long as they are able to continue to make such food, I will continue to return there.I was lucky to come in at a time when the morning rush had passed. Which was nice.

I think the key is to try and go early for the best selection and freshest donuts. Weve now been twice. If Im being 100% honest my family was not impressed the first time (almost 2 years ago). We had bought a dozen of their specialty donuts. The donuts were heavy and dry and there wasnt a very big selection. Decided to try again (but get there early) and it was a HUGE improvement. The donuts we tried today all had a light consistent dough and the giant cinnamon buns were worth waiting the extra 10 minutes for. Really nice people and very cute/interesting shop. Glad we decided to give it another go and will definitely come back in future.

I spent 5 years in the donut/bakery business many years ago, I was thrilled to find out there was a home-style bakery here in Mountain Home, Idaho! I have gone there several times over the past several months and always find the variety wonderful, the flavors delicious, the atmosphere delightful and the conversation (with the owner and others) stimulating! She has donuts, breads, spectacular cinnamon rolls and hot coffee or tea always at the ready! And, on Thursdays she even does homemade soup in the winter months and handmade sandwiches in the summer months! The is some construction currently being accomplished in the area, but she has her shop open and ready to serve the hungry customer! Hours vary sometimes, so check her website or just stop by and if shes not open, shes either sold out or its just too early or too late! Enjoy!

We found this gem while on the Idaho Donut Trail. Hands down our favorite and worth the drive! Dorain made our morning so enjoyable. I will forever crave the caramel pecan rolls.

Great place to get doughnuts in Mountain Home Idaho. Amazing choices! I had an old fashioned buttermilk that was dipped in chocolate. Even though the top was coated with chocolate, the great crunchy outside of the doughnut was still there. No picture of it because I ate it to fast. A twist and a Maple bar also didnt make the picture. Couldnt just buy one. Had to get 7. Great atmosphere with a hard working crew. This place is a must if youre in the area or passing by on I84.

Wonderful place to visit. Friendly people, and great donuts. Good coffee too.

At the end of the day they donate to children’s homes and other things but I did not like the doughnuts

By far one of the best donuts I have ever eaten. Visiting from Colorado, I wanted to support a small local business, and this was a great choice. Locally owned, with the donuts and fresh breads made in view. I will be back!!

Today she helped me a mom, far from my sweet kids, smile! It helped too that she bakes incredible sweet treats! I had tasted her sweets this past December while visiting our kids at Christmas. I was not disappointed. So a huge shout out to the Donut Tree Bakery for getting some homebaked goodies to our Nathan and Allyson when their moms wished they could be there themselves baking goodies!

They are donuts were so warm, soft and moist. I got a mixed dozen with two cinnamon rolls.

Awesome donuts and good customer service

Two weeks in a row I have gone here to get doughnuts on Saturday morning, and have not been disappointed! The giant apple fritter with maple glaze has become my favorite, because it has a cravable crunch on the outside and a full bodied center complete with the occasional apple chunk. My wife prefers their bacon doughnut as it is is a well portioned long john with bacon pieces attached with maple icing.I joined the bread club and my first loaf of fresh sourdough bread was fantastic. It is a bit smaller than the average loaf of bread from the grocery store, but you cant get this kind of flavor from a high volume production line. The crust is tough and the body is fluffy and has an acidic bite like a good sourdough should. I cant wait for my next loaf.The staff have personality. Some might see it as pushy, but I enjoy the banter and they are very accommodating. They didnt have any of my wifes bacon doughnuts when I arrived, so they put some bacon on a doughnut for me with no problem.
