Its best to leave the car here and pick up later than to wait around for what could turn out to be over two hours for what might seem to be a small repair. Buy the extended warranties because all things tire related follows Murphys Law (or because if you have teenager drives who tend to run into curbs): if you dont buy it then then youll get a flat tire. Do a little wheeling and dealing and they will shave off $20.00 here or there on the estimate.
After working on my project car for the last two years, I finally got new wheels and wanted to save a few bucks on an alignment as a plan to change the bushings eventually. I read many negative reviews for Wheel Works, but thought they really couldnt screw up anything on my car that badly... They follow a computer that tells them what bolts to tighten and how much, so why not? I made an online appointment which was fast and easy for the next day at 3pm. The next day, I called ahead and asked if they had any earlier openings? The man on the phone, Stephen, said I could bring my car at noon, that they had an opening. I drove over and handed them my keys. My car wasnt seen until 3PM. Why tell me to come three hours early? That was annoying, but forgivable. What was unforgivable is how they treated my car. They totally mangled the boots on my steering rack and tore a hole in one. I photographed before and after photos. On top of that, when I got my car back, I asked why my camber wasnt adjusted back to factory spec? Stephen told me that Special shims needed to be ordered and that would be $500 extra in labor. Its one eccentric bolt that needs to be turned! Please please please, believe the negative reviews and avoid this place at all costs! Their lack of basic car mechanical understanding from management down to the techs is truly frightening!
Came to this place to change two front tires that worn out.1. I received the quote, ordered new tires and scheduled the service next day at 3pm which was suggested as the least busiest time. When I asked next day how long it would take they told me at least 2 hours! I was prepared for 30 minutes, 1h in the worst case. 2 hours to replace 2 tires, really?!2. They also decided to include wheel alignment to the bill even though I didnt ask for it. do you want wheel alignment with 1-year warranty or lifetime warranty? (as if it was absolutely required).3. While ordering the tires they managed to make mistakes in both my phone number and my name and next day couldnt find the order.I decided that this is too much for a shop that charges more than official dealer for the job (parts+labor) and Id rather pay the penalty (10% of the tire cost as they had already been delivered to the shop) not to have business with them.
I came in for my tire to be patched about 7:30. The associate said the wait will be 2 hours and by 10am it will be fixed. At 9:45 nobody had even started on my car and during this time I see other cars coming in getting worked on. They kept taking cars and also started working on those cars. I can only assume since my car was a free service they didnt care to give me quality as they was giving countless other customers. I seen them bringing in cars and keeping the customers updated and letting them know what was going on with there cars. When it came to me I only got information w when I asked when are they going to work on my car. After 2 and a half hours he got someone to start working on it, then an hour after that I checked again and that person had stopped and my car was still not done. I had to keep asking and he got someone else to finish the patch. The service today was unacceptable. The associate tried to explain having an appointment would have resulted in faster service, but he failed to realize that I didnt get know updates or acknowledgement as he was giving plenty of other customer around me. 4 hours is a long wait to patch a tire and any of the other service men could have assisted me, but he made wait for one particular repair guy that was working on a that took several hours to fix instead of giving me to someone else that was available.
Dishonest store - beware of bait and switch behavior! I was provided with an online quote of $89.99 for a wheel alignment for my specific year & model of car. Took my car in and verified that price when I dropped it off, and then after waiting for 2 hours was told that they wouldnt actually honor that [written] quote, and that their cost would be $289 instead.
Went in to get new tires for my Tesla. Gave a nice deal on some Bridgestone and alignment. When I got the car back, noticed that it pulled a little to the left. They took it right in and fixed it immediately. Great service!
The staff here is always friendly and professional. They do Quality work with a fairly quick turnaround time.
After an alignment, my engine light of low oil keeps on showing up unless I top up with oil. Probably they have hit something else in my car. Their mechanic had recommended a bunch of expensive unnecessary repairs. I wont come back to this place again. Untrustworthy.
Prices not good, service is worse. They do not communicate updates on your vehicle. Waited 3 hours for them to fix a flat (they had said 1-1.5hr) only after I checked in for status I was told it need to be replaced and only then did they start working on it, then more wait.
Always on top of everything with your car. Very friendly
Steven, Gil and Chewy were great! I found them to be very helpful and professional! Back shocks replaced, new spark plugs, oil changed, all good!!
Our van had flat tire and we changed into spare tire and brought to this MV wheelworks. When they tried to unscrew the locks, the technician broke the lock stud. They called me I had to change the whole lock set, which is additional $185. The manager Alex told me it was over-screwed when the spare tire was put in. So it is breakable easily. I told Alex we will be there in 5 mins to take a look. When we arrived, the whole new tire was already placed on, leaving one hole (broken lock, see picture in red circle). We questioned Alex why the tire was placed and screwed in if we are coming to check? He said it is ok to drive away with one lock missing and thats why the new tire was placed in. I asked what if we do want to get it fixed, does the technician has to unscrew the 4 locks? The sequence of the work and the whole story does not match. We felt that the lock was broken when the technican tried to screw the 5th lock in when placing in the new tire and broke it. Alex kept saying that it was broken due to the lock was screwed too tight when the spare tire was put in by us. Hello?? Shouldnt we be notified when it was broken and left the scene for us to check (I told him we were 5 mins away and will be there right away)? Why the was new tire placed in already when I checked? Also, does customer need to pay for the misconduct by the technician? The people in this store are dishonest. I would suggest to be careful with this store. This manager, Alex, will need to go. He needs to learn how to be truthful to the customers and take up the responsiblities.
Alex nice enough to check my tire air pressure even they are busy.
Terrible service! My appointment was at 10am and they haven’t started working on it until 1pm then they told me that my car will be done by 4:30pm and i show up at 5pm and its still not done so had to wait until 6 to finally leave and it was all for 1 tire!
I used to like this place, and did my car maintenance regularly at this location. It became worst when the Manager took off due to his back pain. I stopped going to this place when this incident happened - I gave my Dodge Challenger in for an Oil change & wheel alinement. They called me later for a pickup, and soon as I walked towards my car, I realized there was a big greasy scratch which had the break dust and there was an other small scratch which only had a break dust. I called the service advisor and showed the scratches which wasnt there when I gave the car. It was obvious that they scratched the car in their workshop as the scratch was greasy and had break dust all over it. The guy rubs off the break dust in front of me, which was on the small scratch and claimed there was no break dust, and we did not scratch it!! Bro really..WTH? Later he gets a scratch detailer, rubbed the break dust and the big greasy scratch, and argues with me that it was not caused by them. It was totally obvious that they did this, the break dust was all over the back wheels and on the scratches, this guy was arguing with me that they did not do this?!! The guy wasnt admitting that they did it when it was obvious, at a point I was soo vexed up, they were not going to fix my car for what they did, what else can I do except posting this review. I wish I could give zero stars for this kind of a service.
Just go to America’s Tires you can thank me later.
Wanted to check if I could bring my own oil for a bit of a discount. Clerk said no and promptly hung up, even though I told him I was okay paying the oil fee as well. If you care about customer service at all, be sure to skip this place.
Awesome place full of helpful people that are acknowledged in their field of work.I truly appreciated the service that was done in a very timely manner even though I just dropped by.They recommended that I get new tires as mine where very balding and helped with replacing windshield wipers and even gave me the oil change. And went over other any other liquids that the car needed. More over they were able to get the engine light off which was a nuisance in itself. They also have free coffee for what little time I was waiting, nothing beats a fresh cup of Joe on cold day.I will come back when my car needs to be serviced again
Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. I went in to have my alignment done but they couldn’t do it because my tie rod and wheel bearing were slightly worn. My tie rod did have a very minor amount of play in it but my wheel bearing has no signs of wear at all. Then they tried to charge me $585 to replace these things. I could fix these things in my garage in about an hour and a half with $70 of parts. The staff was unprofessional and the technician stalled my car multiple times while driving it on to the lift. Your time and money will be much better spent at another shop.
NEVER in my life have I’ve experienced customer service or Auto repair. I went to the location to get my brakes changed and found out I needed a wheel alignment and new tires, spent $900 that day....2 Weeks later my brakes were squeaking again and wheel was shaking worse than before. So had to bring it back there and they noticed the lead tech did not balance my tires correctly, alignment wasn’t fully done and brake was not liberated correctly. And 3 weeks after I had to bring it back again for the same issue and the manager Kyle and Alex rudely dismissed me after they seen me for the 3 rd time and wanted me to purchase 2 more times after asking them do I need 4 new tires when I first visited in the beginning! NEVER will recommend this company to anyone ever again!
Friendly people, quick work. Low-stress car maintainence.
Hi. Just for heads up to anybody. I bring my van today August 26 at 9:20 am and i went there to pick up or an update just because according to the specialist the job is 1 o 1.5 hours. it was 12:30pm today and my van was still in the parking lot so what is goin on it is not a big job. Sorry im not returning here even though i live across the street from them. Jajaja it is rediculouse..Im giving 2 just because the specialist front desk guy was nice and helpful. But for the job people it is bad for my experience. Tks.
Good service, gave good recommendation. They have a decent lounge to wait while your car is being serviced.
Have to commend this place for a lot of things. First, they took my car in for a free assessment for tire noise. Thats very valuable. They gave us a diagnosis within three hours (on a Sunday). They held the car overnight, and I was able to get it before work the next day (opens at 7am). Second, they were a bit understaffed but very courteous and polite. Their pricing was very fair, and transparent. The one downside is that there was an even bigger problem with the car that they missed. So, if you are going to get work done, it might take double the time for the fact that they do not inspect everything, and it could mean you leave forgetting to get a whole car inspection, and then an even bigger problem hits. Minor drawback, but not to be forgotten.I have used Wheel Works in the past, and I cannot complain about the quality, speed of work, and pricing. I do recommend if you are in need of a quick repair, new wheels (great deals on new tires, honestly), and general maintenance.
They didn’t tighten my lug nuts and i almost lost the wheel on the freeway. Dont recommend
Dropped off a tire to for a nail patch. I thought the guy said $13, so I said ok. Writes it up as $30. Thats way overpriced. Probably should have left, but didnt want to deal with going somewhere else. This was at 2pm, for a promise finish of 5pm.I came back at 5:40pm, as they close at 6pm. I see my tire on the ground untouched. The guy says we are getting to it, only 5 minutes. Seeing that there was only one worker who looked quite busy, and after waiting a couple minutes, I just took my tire and left. I dont need a $30 rush job. Recommend you shop around, as there are much better reviewed tire places near by on El Camino.
Prices are good and theyre always very helpful
As a women I find it hard to to find good honest mechanics. They are the best! Kind staff and extremely knowledgeable. I needed a part that another mechanic told me I needed and I wanted a second opinion. So I went there and they were honest with me and said I didn’t even need it! I highly recommend them! I now live I SF and still commute down there just to get my maintenance:)
Where can I start? Was it the personable, caring attitude of Salam? Was it the speedy service and commitment to what they claimed to do? Was it the extra effort they go to accommodate the customer?ALL OF THE ABOVE!! Wheel Works is FANTASTIC!! They saved me and my dead battery today at a VERY fair price!! Can’t thank you guys enough!!! Trustworthy, dependable, a pleasure to do business with!! THANK YOU!
They did a great job with low profile tires. They communicated well, will use again
My BMW had low pressure this winter. Came there twice and each time had wonderful service by the staff (Sanam, Ricky and a gentleman from Lebanon). They were wonderful, patient and very understanding. Offered me options and an appointment. For all the wheels they work on, all turned out great! Highly recommend!
Terrific service.. Courteous staff... Came to get a pinhole leak checked. It was hard to find so they had to remove the wheel and dunk it in a bucket of water. They found the leak... And did not charge me... Wow.Certainly coming back here
Moe was very kind and helpful!!! He was very polite to help us out and fill our van up with air! It was actually over pressure so it was great getting a professionals look to get it at the correct tire pressure. Wonderful fast service with a smile!
Theyre always busy so you should have an appointment before you go. Theyre courteous and quick. Waiting room clean, they have good coffee.
Great service in patching a flat. Were really helpful and got it done in a couple hours on a Sunday when no one else was open. Moe the sales manager was really nice
Good - maybe.Timely - no.
Way too slow to fix a flat tire.
Got my tires from an online seller installed here. Their rates were reasonable and they did installation and alignment in just over an hour while I waited in the lobby, which has coffee and wifi. They werent very busy and the staff was friendly. I had an appointment and came in the morning, which probably helped since they werent busy yet.
Manager claims they have a company policy that they can not install parts that a customer provides and that all parts installed must be purchased through them. When asked to show proof of said policy in writing, or displayed someplace, the manager stated he didnt have it written anywhere. Pretty shady practice, if I wanted to buy the same parts at marked up prices I would go to a dealership. I offered to show my receipt for the parts to the shop to verify the chain of purchase and that the parts in question were indeed from a legitimate source, but that did not matter. Seems like thispolicy is in place to pad their sales. Found another shop thats local that did not have any problem installing my supplied parts (Bosch parking brake pads and replacement set for the record).
Only been here once for an alignment after I did my tie rods and control arms. Gave them the keys, paid them, and when I got my car back the wheels were straight, so Id say they pretty much did what they said theyd do. The guys there were nice and the work was done fine.
They have worst attitude to customers. Cant even accept their mistakes. My friend took his Challenger for wheel rotation and got scratches on left side of car. When asked about it he was flipping his words and saying if he makes a scratch there will be a dent.I dont know where he got training on car repairs, he thinks all Scratches makes dents on car. Finally he messed up my day.My friends car is sliver in color so Picture does not depict much.
Employees here are very friendly and doing their best to provide excellent help for customers, even when the phone is ringing off the hook and they have a lot going on. I go here for all of my tire needs and they always do a great job.
Had a great experience dropping in on a weekend to get a battery swapped. The team treated me well (even though my car died while parked in front of a bay), went out to fetch a part from a neighboring store, and did the service in record time. Very nicely done.
Good, courteous and knowledgeable staff. Been here twice for complete re-tire for both my vehicles.
Great service, quick turnaround, and I really reasonable pricing!
First came here 10 years ago with a screw in my tire. I asked How much to fix it? They said how does free sound? I had never set foot in the place before and never bought anything from them. Since then, at least two sets of tires, as well as rotations and oil changes. Always good friendly and reliable service.
Wheel work will not except your car keys after hours, eventhough someone is there. You can leave your car there but you have to bring the keys back the next day. They need a key drop box. Dont ever tow your car there after hours or the tow truck driver will have to hide the keys on the car for you to take care of. I suggest going to Richs Tires on Old Middlefield Way & Serria Vista in Mountain View. Their open till 7pm
Very courteous and quick service. Picked up my car and was in and out within minutes. Bathroom was decent unlike most tire places.
The pricing is great! They are very professional and fixed my tires and oil change on the same day that I called. I recommend it to everybody!
I have had the misfortune of needing semi-urgent services from Wheel Works on several occasions. The issues are generally related to punctures and slow leaks. With these cases, I have always been told that the problem is not reparable (its not a puncture, its a gash, its not a nail puncture, its a mental shard, etc.) The first couple of times, I went with their recommendation to replace the tire (once even a set of tires, as they told me that uneven wear would cause mechanical issues with the car). Last time around, they refused to fix a puncture (saying something about the angle of the nail) and tried to sell me a new tire, but I said I would simply go elsewhere. Though I had not said so with the intention of doubting them, they actually agreed to repair the tire. The tire has performed well since then. Most recently, I asked them to repair another nail puncture . They tried hard to say no, claiming it was too close to the sidewall. Instead of wasting time this time around, I just took the car to another tire shop, which repaired the issue at a lower cost, with no ill side effects (thank you, Caledron).I would urge all who go to Wheelworks to keep their wits about them and to be careful of being sold something thats not necessary. In addition, other tire shops in the area are often able to do repairs/mounts/installations for less.
Great service in a timely fashion. Moe at the front desk was personable and kind. I used the online appointment scheduler which was also convenient
Lured me in with low pricing for an oil change... told me it will be 1 hr... 1 hr later still have not started... waited another hr... and still not started... and left... disappointing.
A go-to if I need new tires or an oil change!
This time my experience was not good. They charged me but didnt rotate the tires. Now I dont know if they changed the engine oil or not.
Very fast service repairing a tire with nail damage. Very friendly and reasonably priced. Delivered on time.
Prompt professional service, clean establishment. I had them fix a flat for me, they did it quickly, and the charge is only $20.
I go to Wheel Works because theyre just a mile and a half from the Tesla dealership, and Tesla service is almost never available same-day, so if you have a tire-only issue they send you to Wheel Works. I usually drop the car off in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon, and for my last 5 or 6 visits, theyve always done a fine job, and theyve lived up to their warranty of repairing flats in tires they sell to you, which is important because where I work, theres a lot of construction crews that tend to leave nails and screws in the parking lots.
Mo helped me with a flat tire for no charge. Provided me an estimate for a new tire in case I need one down the road. Awesome service and no push, I like that! Thank you!
Made a 7 AM appointment, left Wheelworks at 7:15 AM. Came back at 5:15 PM. They had not even started to install 4 new tires. I left without anything being done. I recommend that you shop around.
Excellent location for wheel change and lifetime alignment. Ask for Mo to help you
They checked my tire pressure and repaired the tire pressure sensor in 10 minutes and completely free.
The friendly staff repaired my tire reasonably quickly, and they only charged $29! They took the time to answer my questions. Great experience, despite the fact that getting a flat is never fun.
Had a blowout one afternoon, and needed a new replacement. Brought the tire in at 10:00, they had it all finished, mounted and ready by 1:30. FAST service, courteous staff. Quoted me a price over the phone and thats what it ended up out the door. I WILL BE COMING BACK FOR SURE IN THE FUTURE.
I have bought at least 6 sets of tires from this location and have always been treated well. Theyve had what I needed in stock and matched or come close to online quotes. The service has been fast and reliable and when Ive had nail punctures, theyve fixed them quickly and free.
They were super nice and efficient! They matched prices. Moe was super nice in customer service and made a great experience!
Good prices. Good warranty, but you have to go back for checkups, which is inconvenient, because its by mileage, and youre not likely to notice that youve driven 5,000 miles and less likely to be available to sit around for 2 hours while they get around to checking your tires. Thats okay for buying the tires or having them repaired/aligned/balanced, but a pain every 5,000 miles.
Tons of parking, friendly service people! Surprisingly quick service for showing up in the middle of the day
Excellent! I bring my cars (3) here.
Fast, friendly, and reliable. They dont try to catch you on stupid charges. They even reduced my bill after the fact.
Ive come here a couple times for oil changes and have been happy with the service.
Wanted me to do $600+ worth of unnecessary work because they said they could not do an alignment. Another shop I take the car to regularly had no trouble completing the alignment.
The service is fast and good but labor is expensive.
Horrible service, I think if your bill is not more than 150$ will get a bad bad service.I went to repair a puncture in one tire, caused by small pin, they asked to leave the wheel for two hours, and they will contacted me when it will be fixed, and it will cost me 30$ (which is expensive). So, they never contacted me at the same day.I went day after and I found that they never touched the wheel and its stayed at the same place was left day before. I waited 20 min for an available worker, and he started to hesitate if he can fix it, at that point I took the wheel to another place Richs Tire Service who fixed the puncture exactly in 7 minutes and costs 15$.I didnt ever met a bad service and place like Wheel Works.
Did the job right and finished ahead of time. Good value.
I got a flat tire this morning and had my car towed to wheel works in mountain view around 10am. I arrived to pick up my car and 4:30, its now 5:30 and they still havent finished. Its one tire. Very frustrating to say the least. The guy told me it would be ready in 15 minutes when I arrived.
They work hard to make the customers happy
We have brought all of our cars here for 20 years and they are very honest fair and sharpened price and service
They are very busy,. But if qualitysdrvice is for you then this is the place. Also, prices are very reasonable.
Went there for a simple oil change, knocked out my car senses and my car was in the shop for days, never again will go there.
Honest group of people! Recommend, Highly!
Very courteous and accommodating staff. We service three different cars there. Pleasure doing business with them.
Very friendly, very fast, and giving a good overview on available alternatives.
My girlfriend was charged triple what it costs to buy two air filters online. They replaced windshield wipers that were only a few months old and barely used, and did multiple services that were unnecessary at her low mileage. These people are scammers that prey on the unknowing. Do not go here!
They replaced 2 tires because of a nail in one of them which appeared to be not needed at all. That costed me $300. Another time I went to another tire service with the same problem. To pull out the nail and fix the tire costed $15.Giving 3 stars just because I dont want to be unfair. Im not completely sure that the tire could be repaired (maybe the puncture was larger than ¼ inch (6 mm) or was outside repairable tread area), but it looked the same as in the second case and it was successfully repaired. So at least double check such cases with another service.
Great service and offers all services around wheels for autos
Their service is super slow. Their “policies” suck. They refused to patch my tire that has a nail in it. They said I have to buy a new tire. Now I need to find someone to get the nail out and patch it. So much for the warranty....
These guys accepted me at ridiculous timing and sorted out a situation with my car when I was hundreds of miles away. Thank you and good luck!
Theyve always been great. If anything goes wrong they fix it.
Great service, fast and saves money on tires and oil change. Jim and Rich are a pleasure to work with.
Nice, friendly people & good service
I made an appointment for 4:PM today, went in around 3:45. I was to get my car back by 5:PM. To my surprise, they did not even touch to the car @ 5:PM when I asked for the status. The front desk person just gave a random excuse and I just had cancelled the service after wasting my 1:15 hours. Please do not get FOOLED
Excellent fast service with gr8 tires
Not quick but the quality is great
I did not go here. Keep out of my business Google! The one star is for Google, not Wheeleorks.
Having other people work on my car is always a stressful process for me, but Wheel Works was fairly solid.
These folks have always treated me well. They do good work.
Good and quick.
Worst service ever. I replaced the tire here and they lost my wheel lock. Their alignment is inappropriate and makes my other tires worn unevenly. Very unprofessional.
Experience. Expensive for engine repair. Not fast
My go-to place for oil change! I schedule an appointment online, drop off my car, and they call me when its ready to pick up.
