I had an eye appointment with Dr. Ngo and it was the best experience. There are some reviews on here about hidden costs, but the center is very upfront in the paperwork you fill out about what costs you’ll incur. The staff were all very welcoming and talked me through the different vision tests. Dr. Ngo was also fantastic at explaining my vision issues and options and has me seeing better than ever. I haven’t purchased my contacts or glasses yet, but at no point did I feel like I was being asked to pay extra and order through them, which I’ve experienced with previous optometrists.

I was looking for a new optometrist after moving to the bay area, and I heard good things about this clinic from coworkers. I was very impressed with the service I received. Dr. Louie is an excellent optometrist and I will definitely be coming back here for anything I need. Rachel did my pretesting and she made the process quick and easy.Henry was the optician who helped me pick out lenses. He was extremely knowledgeable about eyeglasses and helped decide which frames to get. He clearly explained my pricing to me along with the pricing for the glasses. Looking forward to picking up my prescription!

I was referred to Kevin Schwaderer, O.D. by my fantastic retina specialist, Mark Wieland, M.D. (who even has his eyes examined by this doctor!), to whom I was referred by my fabulous primary care physician because I was having some floaters and a few flashes. (All good, no concerns.)I just saw Kenneth Schwaderer, O.D. yesterday for my initial eye exam appointment with him. His office impressed me from the first time I called them on the phone, and from researching the practice on their outstanding website. There are about 8 optometrists in total (almost all of whom got their degrees from UC Berkeley School of Optometry, as did Dr. Schwaderer), but stick with Dr. Schwaderer, because he is a star and has quite the impressive C.V.The office is easy to reach (just off of Castro Street in Mtn. View with plenty of street parking) and clean and attractive and full of friendly, smart support staff. Excellent COVID-19 protocols, too.They took me at the appointed hour (no waiting!) and an experienced tech efficiently ran some preliminary exams. He was superb, gave friendly, clear instructions. Then he escorted me into Dr. Schwaderers dedicated exam room.Dr. Schwaderer arrived shortly. He is really nice, and treated me as an informed, intelligent, worthwhile patient/person. Listened well and asked all the right questions, explaining everything as he went along. I learned a lot about my eyes and felt reassured (not that I was unduly concerned). He showed me the photos of my retinas and walked me through all the details.He is so patient and commended me on my preparation and my level of knowledge. After the extremely unrushed and thorough exam, he gave me the overall story of the condition of my eyes, asked me if I had any other questions, told me his office would email me in a year with an appointment reminder, and he gave me a printed copy of my new, slightly updated eyeglasses prescription (with absolutely NO pressure whatsoever to have it filled in their on-site optical department).When I went back to the front office, it was a breeze to check out. The office is going to bill my Medicare and supplemental insurance because of two existing minor medical issues, so my payment due was minimal. Had a pleasant aloha with everyone and headed home pleased as punch.Definitely going to make an appointment with their optical department to investigate a pair of progressive sunglasses, which I sorely need.Highest recommendation! Go see these wonderful, talented professionals!

I had to get eye contacts and new glasses during COVID and I have to say they were wonderful. Their COVID procedures are excellent and they are very consistent with all of them. My doctor and the eye contact team are great. In particular, in the eyeglasses department, I worked with Henry and he went above and beyond to help me with my new frame, adjustments and finally a replacement. I would highly recommend Henry! He worked with me, gave me different options until we got the prefect fit.

I returned to Mt. View Optometry to see Dr. Schwaderer for my annual eye exam and renewal of my contact lens prescription. I commended on Dr. Schwaderers clinical skills in his work and professionalism. The office staff whom I came in contact with have been courteous, efficient, and helpful. I got an annual eye exam for glasses and contacts here as I was looking for a new optometry that accepts VSP. I highly recommend Dr. Truong and their technician Rachel, but not the eyeglasses department.With my long history of wearing glasses and contacts, I never met anyone that pays attention to every little details and explains the purpose of each test and test results in a language that patients can understand. Dr. Troung is very knowledgeable, and tries to make sure she does not miss anything despite her busy schedule. My husband got his eye exam with Dr. Truong earlier, and he said the same thing as well. Other staffs were very kind and cautious about COVID-19.I didnt have a positive experience with the eyeglasses department. The staff was rude overall. I was going to get a frame, but the staff(I think her name was Glenda?) told me not to touch anything and told me to get Asian-fit glasses, literally said so the glasses can sit on the cheeks not on the nose, which sounded offensive and restricting what I can choose. I dont have a prominent cheek bone compared to other races, and never hear that kind of comment throughout in my life. When I asked her if she can adjust my current glasses, she charged me $25 for only tightening the arms saying she is not going to adjust anything because I didnt get my current glasses there. And she didnt tell me about charging $25 before she does that. I feel like I threw my $25 on the street, and she didnt even give me a receipt. I will definitely come back for eye exams but never for eyeglasses.

They don’t allow companion for choosing glasses, even though we had our body temperature being tested and washed our hands. It’s had to understand, especially there were no other customers inside. We made the appointment together in the store last week, and they did not mention it at that time. So I had to stand outside and texted with my friend about the glasses.

The doctors in the optometry are amazing, the place is full of resources and capabilities. The eye wear staff though is extremely rude, doesnt care about customer, and provide incorrect information incorrectly, and extremely unpleasant to talk to making the whole experience horrible. I got stuck having to get eye wear at the location, but never again. Me and husband have same bad experience with eye wear staff over total of 5 visits. But we both had really good experiences with the medical staff that includes doctors and technicians.

My wife and I and our five kids (now adults) have been taken cared of by Dr. Szeto for over 15 years. And we’re treated like family here. And Brandon at Optical is a great guy and sure like a real Brah. Highly recommended.

Dr Schwaderer has been taking good care of me for almost twenty year. He is very knowledgeable and thorough.The eye glasses department provides excellent service, but they are more expensive than say Costco.

I found the staff pleasant and knowledgeable. When my contact lens order was delayed, they delivered additional trial lenses to my home.

Would never buy a glass at this store again. You will be paying twice more than other optometrists shop in the Bay Area. There is no price tag on glasses so after you spent time with an associate to chose a glass, you will be surprised with the supper expensive price. They sold a 400$ glass for about 800$.

I have been coming here for well over 10 years now, specifically seeing Dr. Audrey Louie. Dr. Louie is kind, thorough and detailed in her eye exams. My children now see her as well. The whole team is top notch!

Ive been seeing Dr. Audrey Louie for about 6 years. The exam is very thorough and she takes her time and gets to know her patients. I just had my first exam during Covid and MV Optometry takes all the needed precautions and it felt very safe. I will continue seeing Dr. Louie for all my vision needs.

The doctor (Jeremy) was very thorough and verified everything and addressed my concerns. Staff (Cassie) that helped me choose glass frames was very patient (I spent there 2 hours picking two pairs) and helped a lot. Fantastic experience!

Very nice, comfortable office. Good location and good attention to Covid safety.

Once again Dr Kim was fabulous. In a world with such turmoil right now she makes you feel calm and safe. She has a very kind and sweet demeanor.

Update:After getting me one pair, they didn’t realize rhere was a second.they broughtme a second and didn’t realize there was a third.Took another five minutes for the third.!Nice people. Good selection. Takes insurance but I’ve hardly seen a place with so many employees and such poor customer service.I signed in to pickup 3 pairs of glasses! Ten minutes later they only had given me one and couldn’t even tighten the pair on my head.I still don’t have the other two.There are four employees helping 3 customers!

Their prices for frames are twice as much as other retailers. No thank you!

They have a good variety of frames in different price ranges. The staff is friendly and very organized. The only downside there is a long wait time to get your glasses once the order is placea. (~3 weeks)

I wouldnt recommend getting glasses done here. I provided a new frame to get new lenses (They sell the same brand at the store). Manager assured that the lab will take good care of the frame and it is very rare they damage the frame (If you provide your own frame, you have to sign a waiver which states they are not responsible for any damages). They also left a note to take extra care of it. About a week later, I got the frame back with scratches on the frame. Manager acknowledged the issue and said they have to send it back to the lab. I requested to be notified before they do anything to the frame (Never got an update). Few days later, they notify me that the frame is fixed. When I went to pick it up, they didnt really fix the scratches, just tried to polish it (Scratches were still there). Manager said its not really noticeable to him, so he doest think its a big issue (It is beyond me how he thinks its okay, because he doesnt find it a problem). All I got back was there is nothing they can do, so they didnt resolve anything. Overall, service is bad and I wouldnt be surprised if you get the same treatment even if you buy a new frame from the store.

Dr Shen was marvelous. The technology they use to treat your eyes and the optomap was very impressive she gets 5/5 stars. Unfortunately cant say the same for the frame selection or the help of the staff while choosing frames. I was told to wait for assistance in selecting frames. I did 3 laps around the store while waiting no one ever came to help. Eventually got tired of waiting and left. Heavy lack of designer frames even though their website states otherwise. Probably wont come back left disappointed. I feel conflicted, generally I like to purchase my frames from the same place that did the exam but I guess that wont happen this time.

The doctors are friendly and helpful. But the staff is not! I called first to book an appointment for my wife, they kept me on the phone for 10 minutes taking all the insurance details for me and my wife. Then they needed to talk with her to get more details about her eye symptoms. Because we were not at the same place at the moment, my wife called few minutes later and mentioned that l have called earlier, they recognized her and gave her an appointment, but then they asked her for all the insurance details again! When we arrived they asked for the insurance details again and double checked the cards. After we were done, they wanted to charge us more than what we should pay as per our insurance benefits, when I questioned that, they asked for the insurance details for the fourth time, and they were shocked that they missed that!!!! Luckily eventually they got it right! It was really frustrating.

I was on the hunt for a new pair of Rx sunglasses. Found ones I liked here -- they had a great selection. Staff was helpful and helped me find the right shape for my face. They ordered me a new pair instead of selling me the ones off the floor, and called me promptly when they arrived. Thanks!

Mountain View Optometry continues to excel. They have streamlined their initial eye exams (peripheral vision, etc.). The doctors continue to be friendly and, most importantly, very knowledgeable. Ive been coming here for years, and would recommend it to anyone.

I had a nasty eye infection last week. Was grateful that the awesome staff was able to get me in on short notice (several times). And I deeply appreciate your Saturday hours. Have been there several Saturdays over the years.

Terrible service. There was completely no confirmation on my appointment so I didnt go for it. But now they are trying to charge me for a no-show fee. So funny and ridiculous.

I ordered a pair of rayban clubmaster all black prescription sunglasses and they gave me the one with golden rim. When I asked for them to be replaced with the original ones. They said they have to use my insurance again as second pair and wont be able to replace it. To make things worse the store representative tried to blame me for miscommunication. Do not go here if you want to get a pair of glasses.

Ive been going to Dr. Szeto for a couple of years, and shes great! Always prompt and willing to talk through any concerns I have. They have recently set up a way to make an appointment online too which is fantastic if you like to avoid the phone like me!

I have been a customer in this store for 2 years until recently. The receptionist told me my insurance cover 2 box of eye contacts and thus I ordered from them and got the contacts in a week. However, after 1 month, they called me and told me that my eye contacts is not covered and their receptionist made a mistake and asked me to pay. I was upset and they said they will talk with their manager. I received no update until recently I received a letter from them, claiming if I dont pay within 14days, they will report me to credit bearu!!!Seriously, I was planning to pay before although I was angry. But what they did is disgusting!!!! They made a mistake and asked the customer to pay for it! And their attitude is disrespectful and mean!!! Would never go back to this horrible store!

Dr. Hur provides excellent, comprehensive care. My daughters and I both refer to her for all of our eye care needs because of her genuine concern, vast experience, and kind disposition.

Great experience with the doctors. Bad experience in the glasses department. I ordered a pair of glasses and realized. After i picked them up, i realized over the folloeing days they are blurry for me on the right side of my field of vision.The customer representative did not listen to what i had to say and kept doubting my problems, being pushy that there is no return policy, but also not offering any immediate help. It was a horrible experience. I cannot recommend buying glasses here.

I felt I got a very thorough exam, all my questions were answered and the office seems very professional and efficient. The frame selection is excellent, and it was very quick to finish up the paperwork once Id made my selection.

Dr. Schwaderer was able to adjust my prescription to still allow me to improve my long distance vision with progressive contact lenses. Whew! I didnt want to start using cheater glasses for reading.

I wish I could have zero star. This place is friendly at surface, but they are not. I ordered there and then found something wrong and cancelled. Instead of cancel my order, they send it to vsp anyway and make the lenses. Then, they do no refund until over a month I called for refund. They called me back and explained, but instead of explaining the whole reason, they just put the result on my face: lenses ordered, only refund the frame and hang up.Really bad communication, and bad service when I cancelled my order. So, if you do business over there, better not cancel.

Ive been seeing Dr. Louie for years and she always remembers me and takes the time to do a thorough exam and answer all of my questions. I feel very well taken care of.

They mistakenly told us to order extra contacts that we dont initially need, saying that would be covered by our insurance. Later on ask us to a few handred bucks because it didnt went through. They told us its an honest mistake and everyone makes mistake, but itsi always the patients responsibility to make sure the information they told us is correct. We end up paying stuff we dont due to their honest mistake. Both me and my wife wont come back.

Wow! Im a new patient with Dr Rheam and I was very impressed. The staff was all very well trained and the technology they use is all modern and well maintained. The husband and I were overdue for eye exams (feeling rather gun-shy since our last experience with a new optician wasnt so great) and we were able to get an appointment without too much of a wait, and were received very quickly when we arrived. The opticians were very informative without being patronizing. They were straightforward and practical in their guidance, and professional in conducting the exam. The staff in the opticians office and the downstairs eyewear showroom were incredibly helpful and patient with helping us figure out how best to apply our insurance benefits (calculating whether to use it for contacts vs. glasses, for example). The eyewear selection in the showroom is decent. We didnt find a ton of glasses that worked for us, but we both found pairs that we liked quite well. Very glad we tried this place and were returning this year for our annual exams.

I went here for routine annual exam. First off, the appointment process is stressful. They will ask medical coverage plus SSN in addition to your vision insurance. They insisted to use SSN to validate identity which is wrong and a bad practice. Im uncomfortable giving SSN to random people or some receptionist. My identity was nearly stolen years ago. I will tell you its a nightmare to reverse (nearly impossible to do) the damage if its compromised because US does not reissue SSN with a new number. Your SSN is yours forever. The testing area is shared with other patients where you will sit next to each other. They will ask your personal information again while everybody can hear what you say. The equipment are very old. Id say 20 years easy. My former eye center facility used state of the art equipment. Also, their frame and lens selection are disappointing. Old and ugly. They dont even know what type of progressive lens they use. I wanted to know if its wavefront/high def. They had no clue. The best part is I paid well over $300 for lens ONLY out of my pocket. I never paid $200 for lens AND frame before on top of insurance. Do your research and avoid getting ripped off. Not sure why they get good reviews.

Ive been Dr Rheams patient for 25 years and always felt she dealt with my vision issues competently and professionally. Ive sent several friends and family members to her and theyve had similar experiences.

Exceptional experience and I will return for new glasses. Broke my semi framed glass support, two days before my international trip, and the lens could not be reinserted. What other optometrists in town could not guarantee to do, partly due to no availability of tools for this style of glasses, MV Optmetry said they could, and Jaycee (?l) did a perfect job, while waiting. The best: no charge! My early Christmas gift. U I bet I will be back for my new glasses with this exceptional service next year. Merry Christmas!

Ive been going to Dr. Linda Hur for the last 16 years. Excellent optometrist. My prescription used to get worse every year. Ever since I started wearing contact lenses at the recommendation of Dr. Hur, my prescription has stayed steady.

Very unprofessional.Had an appointment, went there and was taken to a room for various screening process. Then suddenly mid-way through the process I was asked to go back to lobby and wait. I was told that someone else is ahead of me. It sounded very weird, how can they ask me to go back to lobby in the middle of an examination.After some time I was asked to wait in another room, and the doctor didnt show up for more than 15 min. I went back to lobby and asked whats happening. They didnt know a thing, but told me that they will check and get back. I went back to room and waited another 5 min.I went to lobby to check again on whats going on, and they didnt have any clue. I said Ill have to leave since no one is paying any attention. And they said sure and asked me to call them to reschedule via phone or there itself.Dont think Ill be going back.

Went to this Optometry place because I was in the area and the other place down the street didnt have an opening. By dumb luck I walked-in and the next available appoinment just happened to be at that time so they were able to take me in within 15 mins. The front staff was very courteous and all they needed was my ID for the coverage. Pretty lucky for me, I got a full eye exam through VSP insurance coverage with just the copay. Dr. Linda K. Hur, O.D., was able to give me a thorough eye exam (hadnt had one in over two years) with dilation and various eye tests. Dr. Hur was awesome, she was very informative and was very thorough in testing me, letting me know what each test was for and explaining the various degrees of change in my sight from my previous prescription. Excellent work Doctor!Then Dr. Hur took me to their eye glass area where I was assisted by, Melinda. She was really helpful in helping me pick out new glasses. I wasnt sure if I wanted to go with something completely different or keep the same style, but I told her one or the other. She showed me pretty much most of the glasses that they had available until I was able to settle on one pair that I genuinely liked. Apparently my head is kind of big (must be all that knowledge, lol) and I needed a larger size of frame and they were sort of limited, but I did find the perfect pair for my needs. She was very helpful and we were able to banter back and forth, she was accommodating throughout the process. We settled on a pair of Oakleys and with my new prescription, I was able to get out of here with a excellent pair. The glasses took about a week to come in, as they have to send the stuff out. When they came in I was ecstatic about the new look. I recommend for all those in the area to give this place a chance in searching for new frames or eye care needs. Ill definitely be back when I need another check up, or when my insurance kicks again next year to get a new set of sunglasses!

I was new to the area and stopped in because my Mykita frames needed adjusting - the staff was very friendly and made a complementary fix right away.

Very rude and dishonest service. I made an appointment online and later on requested for reschedule via email in a few days advance but got no reply. After a few weeks, I received bill for missed appointment!

I was leaving town the next day, my contacts were due to be changed and Kaiser wouldnt give me a pair of contacts. Dr J fit me in for an eye appointment gave me a set of lenses and I was off to vacation. For over 25 years Dr J has had my back. Thanks

Went to get the contact lenses prescription renewal. They performed unnecessary tests and charged for $470 dollars. Why don’t you tell the patient upfront before of taking the patient here and there for tests and charging extra dollars?? They want to rip you off. Very negative experience.

I had my eye exam with Dr. Cheung, what a great experience that was. He explained everything he was doing in a way that I was able to understand it. And my new computer glasses with the prescription he gave me is the best I’ve ever received. From walking into the office I was greeted by the front desk, both Aubrey and Jennie check in myself and my husband and were very friendly. My technician Brian did some tests and he was also, friendly, informative and professional. Overall with all their safety and sanitary protocols they have in place it was a great experience.
