I came to Bay Muffler in 2018 because my muffler had rusted through so completely that it fell off while driving. They replaced the muffler, and I thought the experience was good.Two years later the new muffler has completely rusted through. I am also told it was vastly undersized for my vehicle. It appears I was sold the cheapest option that was not appropriate for my situation, particularly involving returning to a part of North America with cold winters. (I believe the muffler I was sold was mild steel, which is not appropriate in an environment with rust potential.)I paid $286 for service in Mountain View and $412 for a replacement in Ontario. Considering cost of living, this price is probably fair in the Bay Area for what I was given. I wish I was given the appropriate part, however, considering replacing a muffler every two years is much less cost-efficient than getting the appropriate part and replacing it less frequently. I am also told my gas mileage will be better with a muffler of appropriate size.

Chris was very nice and has a great shop. He was fast, did a great job and was very communicative. He gave an accurate estimate, which was also very reasonable.

These guys are excellent. Super friendly, generous with their knowledge, and do top-quality work. You can just tell they genuinely care about doing right by their customers and take pride in their workmanship. They could probably charge more too.

I have an older car, and when the catyletic converter needed replacement I brought my car to Bay. The whole exhaust system was a wreck. Not only was I impressed by the quality of work they did, but their price was very reasonable considering parts AND the quality labor. Ive recommended them to others, and my friends have reported the same results I did. Support local business. These guys know their stuff.

My husband made a 2:00 pm appointment at Bay muffler, arrived at 2:00 pm and was out with the job professionally done by 2:39 pm. The price for the removal and repair of the broken off exhaust pipe at the front of the muffler and re-installation of the repaired muffler and pipe was very reasonable. My husband says that he would be happy to go back again for exhaust related problems.

Slow when there but no one to help me

We took our 1999 Mazda Miata to Bay Muffler because it failed the Smog Test with an error for the Catalytic Converter. I asked them to also replace the two O2 sensors. Got the Miata back but the Check Engine light came back on. Called and took it back and Chris found one of the new O2 sensors was defective. He replaced it no charge, parts or labor, and the Miata is ready for more carefree driving! Theyre local, knew Don my former mechanic at Park Automotive in Palo Alto and, are friendly, courteous and Knowledgeable.
