I brought my son’s car that I was using into Tuffy right at closing time when warnings came on and the car started running sluggish. They were so kind and professional and ready to do whatever they could to help. They found the problem and searched and found the part then while one was taking the old part off the other went to get the new part. They got the new part on and it was fixed and I was on my way not long after their closing time. These guys genuinely care and are very knowledgeableI recommend them highly!

Every single time i have a problem or issue with my car i go to Tuffy. John or Keenan are extraordinary repairmen that are always there to help whenever my car seems to be acting funny, and honestly i owe them both a drink. We had taken our truck to 2 dealerships because the A/C wasn’t working and there was coolant leaking in the driveway. Neither of them found a leak. Tuffy has been under new management for about a year and we’ve been reluctant to use them based off negative transactions we had with the previous owners. We took our truck there and at first found no issue either, but they persisted and found the problem! So thankful for the extra effort they put in to find and resolve the issue!

As a student moving to muncie, and living on my own, I was looking for a reliable shop to go to. Hopefully looking at future updates to my car. Came in for an oil change and check over before a long trip! Ended up using my measuring service and that added an extra Liter of oil. Went to them for a few suspension noises, they told me to drop it with a note and took a lengthy explanation of what was going on. I had my suspicions but I’m not a car genius so I trust a mechanic over myself any day! lol. they ended up taking two weeks to look at my vehicle and giving me a call back two days into ‘taking everything down and apart’ to let me know they broke some parts and things needed to be “bent out” that the cost would be covered by another shop they recommended me service to. they told me I needed to replace my two front control arms (which were replaced just over a year ago before I brought the car from out of state). I have quite a few lights on and owning a mercedes it’s quite costly to scan the vehicle (with it being older), the suspension noises were apparent from when I picked the vehicle up. They stated that no noises could be heard, hit me with a 1400$ bill for the control arms. About 2 1/2 weeks later (with the lug nut that they broke off still in my tire! and my another nut stripped) They called me the next day and said that they couldn’t get me into the other shop and that I should call them pretty much immediately, damages were not printed on the receipt. Now, 2 months later, My sway bar links (which I mentioned in the note I left, along with mentioning the tie rod ends) were the issue. Now (being a college student) I haven’t been able to quite afford it! Called in the shop they recommended (muncie imports) and talked to a guy in the garage who said that they did not have the specialty tools to do what the previous shop stated and that they couldn’t get the lug out at all. Thanks to the guys at tuffy that i’ve been trying to trust for the past few months! the 2k I’ve spent at the shop is really settling considering I feel as though I’m driving a death trap on the daily!

I cant say enough good things about Tuffy. Randy and his crew work hard to make sure that every problem is diagnosed and is taken care of at the lowest cost possible. Theyre never going to overcharge you or tell you that work needs done that doesnt need done. You can trust that if they tell you something is necessary that it certainly is. On top of that the waiting room is always stocked with cold sodas and snacks where you can sit back and enjoy your wait while watching a little golf on TV. Each one of them is passionate about cars and taking care of their customers I cant recommend them enough.

I came to tuffy after coming from another place that never fixed my issue. Keenan was awesome! He was 100% honest with everything that was wrong with the vehicle and the price to fix it wasnt unfair like some of these other places in muncie. I will definitely be making this my spot to get my car fixed. And thats because they were honest and fair. And honesty nowadays is hard to come by.

Mechanics you can trust. My daughter and I came in for an oil change. The mechanic that worked on her car was Browny. I watched him change the oil in my vehicle and unlike most other places that I have dealt with in the past, he actually did an inspection and was very thorough. We would always have spots in our driveway for days after WalMart would change the oil, but Browny made sure to clean off any oil mess that was made during the service. Tuffy will for sure be seeing me again and I recommend them to everyone.

Great place to get an oil change, Midas, Meineke, Belle Tire, and Sparks all said they could not get to my oil change for at least a week. I drove by all of those places and they werent busy. I called Tuffy and they were busy but was still able to change my oil the same day.

Theres no one else in town that I would trust with regular maintenance and repairs on my vehicle. Randy is a genuine guy who is truly invested in your best interest. Him and his team wont try to sell you repairs you dont need and they always explain what is going on with the vehicle and take the time to physically show you what is going on with the vehicle. I gave two stars because my first experience was good, but my second experience was not.I have a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee and he first time I took my car in was because the pipe that led to the muffler exhaust system fell off and was dangling. I’m not sure who helped me but the mechanic was really good at showing me what was wrong and what he was going to do. The total cost came under what he expected it to be, only costing about $100.The second time I went in was within a week for my brakes. I dealt with Randy this time. My hydraulic brakes went out because of a leak in the rear brake lines. I knew this and took it in. I got a call back the next day saying it was going to be close to $700! Luckily I know a thing or two about cars because of having to do constant repairs with the Jeep and looked into how much parts cost and called around to see if it is accurate, which it is not. Like not even a little close to how much it was. When I called back saying I was going to take it somewhere else and that I would be coming to pick it up today he said I don’t care. Also I just don’t like that he didn’t try and stop me from leaving since I only had front brakes and I feel that other places would have advised not to drive with only front brakes.

Ive been taking my vehicles here for many years and have received fantastic service for regular maintenance such as oil changes and for repairs. Most recently having work done on the right front wheel of my familys Toyota Sienna. Randy has always been a fair, honest person. If he tells you you need the work done, you do. Great service! I felt like they were very honest with me and were willing to walk me through anything I didnt immediately understand. They do AAA discounts and I believe they may also do a Ball State discount. If your car has to be in the shop for several days, they will drop you off at your house/work and pick you up when your car is ready. Highly recommend.

I was very disappointed with this place. I took my vehicle in to have a issue checked that I was having trouble with, they found the issue but wanted to charge me 600 to 800 dollars to fix the problem. I ended up fixing it myself for less than 200 dollars. Oh and lets not forget the guy at the desk was rude as well that were professionals we know it all and you dont mentality. Definitely will not go back.

Randy Mahon has been our go to guy when it comes to cars for the last 25+ years. He has always performed quality work at fair prices and has kept our familys cars on the road. My last Yukon had 270,000 miles on it when I got rid of it. We never would have made it that far without regular maintenance and great service. I wouldnt let anyone else work on our cars!

I worked here once upon a time. Randy is as crooked as they come. He allowed other mechanics to steal tools, and told us to do work wrong. Hes verbally abusive to customers and employees alike. I probably easily lost 5k in tools due to him He doesnt know much about vehicle mechanics, and at times, flat lie to a customer about the work performed. One instance was when a woman had a vehicle towed. Randy charged her for a fuel pump($700+) when all we replaced was a relay($15). It was literally DRIVEN into the bay and raised in a lift to make it look like we were working on it This is the type of place that gives honest and reputable mechanics a bad name. If you value your hard earned money and your vehicle, and dont want to be talked down to by a man with Napoleon syndrome, take your business elsewhere.

I wanted a muffler. I stopped for an estimate. $308. I said I would have to look around. I go to warehouse muffler in anderton, spent $145, you can barely hear the car running. I would have paid $200.

Highly dissatisfied and didnt even get my car worked on. I called and made an appointment to get my wheel cylinders replaced on my rear brakes (a $16 part), and asked for them to change the oil while I had it in there. 3 hours after I drop it off I get a phone call. They wouldnt change the oil without a release signed first, because it was so thick. Im fine with that, but then the guy says, so I guess there is a story with this car? I had to re-explain the whole story about the rear wheel cylinder leaking brake fluid. The guy was rude and just kept telling me about the front brakes being bad. He told me it would cost around $600 to get all the brakes fixed and when I asked for a price just for the rear brakes it was going to $330. Today I called around town and the highest estimate I got from other auto shops was $220. I went and picked up my car and wouldnt recommend this place to my worse enemy.

Typically I dont write reviews but my experience here was horrible & definitely do not recommend. I came for a simple oil change because their hours worked well with my schedule, so I gave them a shot. The guy at the desk was rude and scolded me for not knowing what type of oil my car took. Offered no help of how to figure that out just kept rudely saying You should know, what type of oil your car takes (I later after leaving, found out and was told- the oil sticker from the previous mechanic states the oil and mechanics should know to look there). About a week after said oil change my car starts leaking oil. Coincidence? I think not. I took my car to a mechanic that doesnt have the best hours for my schedule but has come highly recommended and he pretty much tells me my oil was changed wrong & that its caused a leak. My experience at Tuffy was not a pleasant one and I will never go back.

I have had a lot of issues with my car for the past few months, and every mechanic I took it to did not find anything wrong with it, and would give it back to me saying it is okay, then two days later it would be dead. When I finally took it to Tuffys, they kept it until they figured out whats wrong with it. Ever since I got it back, my car has been running perfectly! They really care about their customers and they do whatever it takes to make their guests happy.

Took my truck here to get it aligned a few months ago and they said it was good and I payed them. Started noticing my truck not driving very good and noticed the inner tires were just about to blow out they were so bald you could see the wires. Took it back to tuffy and they were nothing but disrespectful and cheap. They told me I had a bad tie rod so they couldnt align it and if that was the case why didnt they tell me this before instead of just taking my money and ruining my tires. They cost me almost $800 and I hope the worst for them and Im definitely getting lawyers out and doing everything I can in my power to put this guy out of business so he cant put peoples life in danger.

I have always had a good experience at Tuffys.

I called to try and get 2 tires replaced. They were dry rotted and i ran over a 1 inch curb. He tells me that he knows it will need way more then just tires, i told him i know about cars and its fine but he wouldnt hear it, he was rude and told me to call someone else, So i took it tirebarn and they were awesome i was back on the road in 30 mins. I told some friends about it and all of them had a bad story about this shop.

I procrastinated on getting my oil changed and when I took my jeep in to get it changed the mechanics also took a look at the rest of my jeep and showed me problems that needed to be addressed immediately because they were worried about how the car would act after getting my oil changed so late. I went ahead and had them fix the immediate problems and was very happy with their work. Tuffy and their employees offered great customer service. I do not know much about vehicles so I was pleased with the fact that they took me out in the garage to show me what was wrong with my jeep and what needed to be fixed.

Randy has always been good to me and my family. His prices are very reasonable compared to the rest. Tuffy will always be my only stop for automotive repair.

Being a woman I have never felt SO uncomfortable, in any business like I did at Tuffy on McGalliard.I haved lived in Muncie my entire life, and usually have the great guys at Sparks work on any problems with all my vehicles, the Owner John is helpful and patient, and never does anything I don’t actually need done.My grandpa had a Tuffy Discount card he didn’t need, so he gave it to me for an oil change.I go to Tuffy, and was not even waited on for at least 20 min. Finally, an older bald man with glasses came in and hurriedly asked me what I needed, and he acted as though I was bothering him. My car 2015 Toyota Camry, and really I was just keeping the maintence up. When I mentioned that I had a Discount Card, this guy nearly screamed at me! He told me that ‘no, he wouldn’t do the oil change without an appt, due to the discount card’. He then went on to say that I was probably only using it because I ‘knew’ I had other problems with my car and he wasn’t going to waste his time losing money. I was speechless. He then said, ‘anything else’? And I left, matter of fact, I couldn’t get out of that place fast enough, and to top the whole thing off, he had other cars blocking both exits! And he stood there watching me, like to make sure I really was leaving. Terrible experience, I wouldn’t recommend that place to my worst enemy.

Randy @ Tuffy is a liar & a cheat who takes full advantage of women! I went there for back brakes & rotors! He charged me $500! Then he told me that I needed new tires! He called me everyday for a wk asking me if I wanted these Yokohama tires that were there, ready, & waiting for me! He said theyd be $577 out the door! He left voicemails about these Yokohama tires! I paid Randy for Yokohama tires! But he put Encounter HPs on my car! I called to tell him about what he did & not only was he rude, but he told me to prove it & hung up on me! After spending $1100 w him in less than 8 days??!! WOW HE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME & I WOULDNT HAVE GIVEN HIM 1 STAR! BUT I CANT WRITE A REVIEW IF I DIDNT! IF UR A WOMAN OR HAVE A WIFE, MOTHER, & OR DAUGHTER THEN I WOULDNT GO THERE!!

If I could give this place less than one star then I would. Several months ago I had my transmission replaced by Tuffy Tire and Auto Service Center in Muncie, Indiana. I have since found out that I was overcharged for a remanufactured transmission. I have called several shops in Muncie, Anderson, New Castle, and in Marion, Indiana and was told that the most that I should have been charged for a remanufactured transmission is $1900 plus tax for a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I was charged over $3500 for a remanufactured transmission for a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. When I calmly informed Randy about this he promptly lost his temper and started yelling at me. He then told me that the conversation was over and to leave his property. He then said that if I ever came back that he would call the Muncie Indiana Police Department and have me arrested for trespassing. I will no longer recommend anyone to take their vehicle here. They are overcharging people for remanufactured transmissions for the 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.

Honestly, I dont even want to give them any star!!! This is the most worst worst worst experience that I have ever had in US! They did my oil change on Friday, it was quick, after that I went home and at 6 PM, I was driving to south to do my job, after driving 5 min, my car SHUT DOWN suddenly! My car couldnt working...I was lucky enough because my car was just stop near to Midas, theres a guy checked it for me, he said THERES almost NO ENGINE OIL in my car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At that point, I have to be in another town for my FIRST job working!!!!which is an hour away, I called TUFFY, they said they already closed, they cant come to check it or do anything, (Excuse me? If you really closed, how can you answer the phone?) I spent money for suffering in such emergency situation because of your fault???? On Monday, they finally towed the car and fixed it, they said the oil filter was bad, (excuse me again??? If it was bad, why didnt you tell me after you done the oil change? )The old guy was very very very not polite, he didnt recognize his fault at all and even said, hey if you went to Walmart, they wont fix it for you for free... my friend try to ask them the compensation for all the problems and inconveniences that I suffered in those days, he said, IF YOU WANT ANY MONEY BACK, FIND A LAWYER, SUE US!!!!! Because, Im not a native speaker, sometimes they speak too fast or their articulation is not clear, and I didnt get it, they are always very not patient to me on the phone. All in all, PLEASE dont ever go to TUFFY if you want to save your car!

Too expensive I went there they try to charge me $55 a tire thats without balancing thats without the new valve stems all I want to do was take my new tires I brought and charge me $55 to stick them on my wheels plus tax thats without balancing and no valve stems I would ride my car until the tire fell off and I was right on the Rims before I stop here
