Absolutely amazing service and quality of work! Laura was able to save me with an emergency/rush bridesmaids maid dress hemming. It was reasonably priced, and she had it done early. Made my day and I will always be coming back for future needs!

We used Laura for alterations on three important dresses. The dresses look beautiful in the end, however… There was a severe Lack of communication from owner.We were overly communicative and beyond patient with Laura about the dates we needed our dresses, made sure to confirm, Confirm, Confirm.First the cost was double plus some compared to what others paid for the same event at other tailors.Next, Each time we came in for a fitting she was overwhelmed and very unorganized, she didn’t remember us or our dresses the first time, the second time she was almost rude to the point that we wanted to take our dresses half fixed and go elsewhere, at times almost seemed flustered or lost about her own job.Then, I personally had to made two extra trips (not to mention extra charges for something I believe was originally promised and paid for in the initial visit..but I just wanted my dress at this point, we were too close to the event to do anything else)for my dress because she wasn’t done with what she previously promised on the last appointment. During a busy short time frame anytime we had to encounter Laura it was overall just frustrating to us that she seemed so disoriented, unorganized, and unprofessional.Overall, It was a very frustrating and anxiety driven experience for my sister, daughter and I. The dresses look nice but the service was deplorable.…And this is me being nice.

Laura did alterations on my wedding dress, she is absolutely the best! I thought my dress fit well and I only needed a couple small alterations, but she ended up altering a lot and my dress fit so insanely perfectly (I didnt know by body could look that good). I had a very intricate dress too with lace and fancy edging. I loved the experience so much, my mom and bridesmaid went to her for their dress and other dresses. I will definitely be going back to Laura for any altering needs.

I took my daughter’s prom dress here because of all the great reviews online. The initial meeting went well with Laura pinning the dress to the correct size. She said to come back in two weeks for the final fitting. Today we arrived and my daughter tried on the dress. There was now a stain on the front of the dress. I showed Laura who claimed that they didn’t do it. I told her it wasn’t there when we dropped off the dress two weeks ago. She adamantly responded that they do lots of dresses in the shop and don’t get them dirty. She also said they steamed it that morning and didn’t “see” a stain. So my question to her remained...so then how did it appear? It has been in your shop this entire time, and wasn’t stained when we dropped it off. She refused to do anything about it and told me that it couldn’t be cleaned because it would ruin the fabric. So I’ve basically just spent a total of $375(dress, alterations, and steaming) for a stained dress that “can’t be cleaned”. I am appalled at the complete lack of customer service of this business with no reparations for damage they caused to the dress.

Laura has gone above and beyond to get my mother of the bride dress done, after several modifications. It is beautiful! I would highly recommend her and her shop employees for a professional alteration job of any kind.

Absolutely the best experience for my May wedding. Bought a dress off Etsy and it didn’t fit the way I had hoped. Laura took care of everything, and actually her alterations made the dress look even better. Visited the location several times and Laura took the time to make sure the dress was perfect. Laura even helped my Matron Of Honor learn how to tie the perfect bow in the back of my dress. I recommend Laura’s alteration service to everyone.

Laura was amazing! She did a perfect job altering my wedding gown, she took her time and over the course of 3 alteration sessions my gown was absolutely perfect and fit better than I could imagine. Not to mention the impressive 14 point French bustle she put in was stunning. She also took her time to teach my mom and my bridesmaids how to lace the corset and tie the bustle of my dress. My bridesmaids were so impressed they also got their dresses altered here too! I was matron of honor at my sisters wedding. I bought a beautiful dress, and the seamstress at the dress shop ruined it. I didnt want to buy another dress as I had my heart set on the one I already bought. Laura patiently, graciously, saved my dress. It was effort on Lauras part, to have to delicately undo the mess of the first seamstress. I am grateful to Laura for her kindness and expertise. Laura, I appreciate you!

I went here to get my dress done altered for prom and they made the top too tight and did a very poor job at doing redoing the beading that as soon as I tried it on two of them came off and the beading job just looks very messy. They also cut my dress too short that I had to go out and buy new shorter heels to wear with my dress. Way too much money for the quality that I got back and not happy at all with my dress.

A few months ago I brought my wedding dress to Laura and Im so happy I did! I got married in August, and she made my dress absolutely perfect for my wedding day. She added on beautiful buttons down the back, and helped me with choosing a belt too. Every step of the way she understood the vision I had for my dress, I would definitely recommend bringing your wedding dress here.

Laura met with me 4 times before my wedding on 9/16/17. My dress looked amazing on me and everything was perfect. She even added a French bustle to the back of the gown which looked amazing. She even got out a stain that was on the dress. I would go back for any other alterations I may need in the future.

Laura and her staff successfully altered my 100% silk designer gown in a span of just 2 weeks. I will be going back to Laura for additional alterations. I made the drive from Chicago because her reviews and referrals were so strong!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR WEDDING DRESS HERE!! The only reason Laura gets two stars instead of one is because she did hem the bottom of my wedding dress well and cut off the train. However, when I walked in with my expensive Alfred Angelo dress 3 months before my wedding, she asked me to pay 100% up front before she even did any work on my dress! And then, she was rude and raised her voice at me when I told her I would only pay half as insurance to make sure she does a good job. (Nothing personal but I had way more to lose than she did) so I asked her to add a corset back in the dress since it was originally a zipper, and I wanted the panel red to match the belt she was putting on the dress(it came with a white belt on it) when I came back she had put a white panel in the dress, I asked her to fix it for next time, second fitting it was still not changed but I didnt feel like fighting with her since she had added red strings (still not what I asked for) so my mother took pictures of the back since I couldnt see it well and when I looked at the picture of the back she had sewn in the corset almost three inches off center!! It was so crooked and she almost let me walk out of there with my dress messed up like that until I had to say something!!! For the last fitting she had fixed the corset and added the red belt but instead of putting the belt on like it was when I bought it, she had put darts in the belt and made it almost an octagonal shape and it had weird points on it, but she wouldnt change it because she said thats how it had to be when I brought the dress in with a straight belt!! It looked so bad I was upset and she just left the room because she knew she had messed it up again. So I just took my dress home and had to get a different belt and a different seamstress. Thankfully I noticed the things that she had messed up or my dress would have looked bad in my wedding pictures. No a good experience!

Alterations By Laura, was great to work with and was able to add colored tools to my dress as I wanting that completed the look I was going for and it turned out even better then I had hoped. Cant wait to experience my day in this beautiful gown.

Allura does an incredible job! She is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

The alterations on my daughters Prom dress turned out great! Keep in mind for good quality the rates are more than a dry cleaner, but it is well worth it!!

If your considering getting alterations here be ready to pay for a consultation. Once the measurements are taken you will get the price but if your consider it to be too pricey....which it is, you will still need to pay a $35.00 fitting fee.
